Creation of Interlinking Action in VMS

I want ro create a interlinking action in VELO tcode( VMS) for creation of used vehicle ( CRUV) and Trade In PO ( POEU ).
Can anyone let me know how do i create this interlinking action in VMS.

Problem in creation of Personnel action

Hi Experts,
as per the requirement,we have maintaied operation INS for org assignment Infotype for action International assignement.
We have a requirement to have the new cost center for this new action.
But the cost center fiels id greyed out.Also it is directly showing the Change Or. assignement screen.
Is there any posiibilty to have the configuration.

Cost Center is defaulted by organizational unit or position, and you can not edit position in organizational assignment. You need to change the position (which attach to org unit that will give you new cost center based on that org unit). If you need cost center that different from org unit default then you can use infotype 0027 Cost distribution. Regards

Automatic Delivery creation through VMS

Dear Automotive wizards,
We are using the Vehicle Management system for or automotive process as a distributor and retailer.
The sales order - delivery settings are NOT for automatic delivery creation. However, in some cases, the delivery is getting created aytomatically in the background.
Have done some introspection in thes 'some' cases and found that they pertain to our 'used care business'. Therein we are using only standard document typesand no changes have been done in their settings. But in some of those cases whenever a sales order is created from the VMS the R3 is also creating a delivery. This delivery doenst show in the vehicle history hence has to be dug out by looking in the dpcument flow for the sales order. The order / delivery setting are NOT for automatic creation.
Do advise how to go about resolving this unnecessary 'speed breaker' in the IS AUTO highway!

Thanks for the pointers but I have explored that earlier and the info therein shows that the delivery was created by the same ID and at the same time when the order was created.
In fact the user is oblivious of the situation too since he/she is working in the VMS and from there they are supposed to move on to create the order after the delivery. But this delivery gets created by itself in the R3, and you would recall that the R3 docs dont get reflect and hence do not update the VMS vehicle status. thereby the vehile status is still as "sales order created" in VMS but the R3 has as "delivery created" there being a mismatch the VMS stops further processing.
By the above you woujld have also got to know that we dont have batch processing or anything like that, pure simple and manual creation of dlivery through the VMS.
The strangest thing is that it happens for only some of the times, and for only some of the users. I have tried comparing he roles for access but all have the same access. Would there be any settings for storage location specific in R3 for delivery creation? or likewise?

Execute Z* VMS action in DBM (/DBM/VSEARCH)

i have a question to share with all of you, i created an Z* action in VMS so my question is... i want to execute this action in DBM (/DBM/VSEARCH) which configs should i have to do to reuse this acction Z* ?
i already did this config:
the action Z102 is a sales order.
but when i am in /DBM/VSEARCH and i populate the data,i execute but looking in the debugg looks like the program control in DBM lost the data.

i will take this vehicle and execute Z102 via VMS (tx VELO)
successful
now i will reverse the Z102 and execute with the same customer and sales area via /DBM/VSEARCH
and the result has failed
as you see, there isn't problem with the matrix for my action Z102, i am thinking could be some part on abap code where sales area and customer are losing.
any help it will be apreciated .

SAP VMS - Standard action CPGM

As far as I know, standard VMS actions allow me to do "Cross Plant Good Movements" (standard action CPGM). The problem is that this action executes a stock transfer (without creating a stock transport order). I need to create a stock transport order between plants, with condition types, and after that I need to create a delivery and a billing document from company A to company B, in other words, I just need to do in VMS what standard SD-MM intercompany stock process does, but I didn't find any standard way of doing so.
How did you solve it?
I will appreciate your help in this topic.

Hello Ivette,
there's no standard VMS action available which does what you want out of the box.
So you need to define your own actions for VMS to fulfill your needs. Please refer to note 903913 in order to find out how this is done in general.
If you're lucky, the function modules of existing actions can be reused and you just need to implement BAdIs (to pass on additional or changed parameters to the ERP BAPIs) which are called by such action function modules and you have to call these function modules slightly differently (e. g. using other action document types).
In order to find out if existing action function modules can be reused in this way, I recommend that you examine the function modules of the actions which do things relatively similar to what you need.
If reuse is not possible, you would have to create your own action function modules.
In any case, it won't be pure customizing but will require some ABAP development. Modification of SAP is in my opinion not necessary.

VMS and Equipment Master creation for Warranty

Hi, Can anyone tell me what is the recommended method for assigning warranties for vechicles when using VMS. Is the Equipment master or General Object number and what is the difference between the two ?

I have one question according warranty in VMS:
what is the difference between warranty assigned to vehicle and the one assigned to Equipment?
I am comparing solution and see some missing parts in both cases
My summary is like that:
Solution 1 - Warranty is assigned to Vehicle WITHOUT equipment
+ WTY recognizes VIN as valid warranty object
+ there is an action in VMS to assign warranty master (vendor and customer one)
+ in VELO you can see claim history (in tab Warranty)
problems
-there is no template for measurements points (as in equipment)
Solution 2 Warranty assigned to Equipment - equ created in VELO linked to vehicle
+ standard actions in VELO to create equipment,
+ standard solution to define template for equipment with measurement points
+warranty assignment is also as one action in velo
Problems
-tab with warranty history in VELO does not get claims related to EQU
-in WTY equipment must be entered u2013 better would be with VIN
-measurement points and warranty in velo are not visible (button in vehicle details)

Hi Hemanth,
You must be performing an action for cancelling the sales order. You can write a code for that action with the help of ABAPer to do that.
If you are doing standard credit process where you create credit memo then you can use interlinking action for RECM and code for that. else you can also use BADI's available in SPRO VMS setting.

CS6 actions not working in CC

Hi all.
I bought some stuff from Phlearn.com and their actions written in CS6 don't work in CC. Is there any way to migrate them?

Actions are nothing more then a sequence of Photoshop steps. If you hold down the Alt key on a PC or the option key on a Mac and click on the little triangle to the left of the action name. The action will fully expand so you can see all the Photoshop steps done by the action and the setting use. Highlight the first step in the action in the action palette the line after the action name.. Then hold down the Ctrl or CMD key and keep it held down. Then click on the Play icon in the action palette while keeping the key held down. One step will execute observe what its effect is on the image document. The next step is now highlighted Keeping the key held down continue to click on the play icon and step through the action step by step. You find out where the problem is. Once you know you should be able to edit the action and solve your problem.

Action to put 3D watermark on images...

I have an action that puts a 3D watermark diagonally across my image. What I'd LIKE to have it do is
properly position itself and scale itself to fit images of different sizes and dimensions.......
For example, if my image is 1024x768, my "horizontal_watermark" action works perfectly. BUT, if my image happens to be 1024x650, my watermark runs off the top and bottom.
If, on the other hand my image is 562x768 I have a "vertical_watermark" action that fits perfectly.......
Is there a way to make my action smart enough to adjust the angle of the watermark, position it correctly for different dimensioned images, and size itself
to it works with images of different sizes? If so, is there detailed documentation somewhere that'll teach me how to do all this?
Or can one of you experts tell me what I need to change/add to my action to do this?

To scale watermarks for different size images in a action take a bit of knowledge some scripting will also be helpful. I put together a package on crafting actions with the information you need to learn. In fact the package contains a sample action set and in that set is a watermarking action that does what you want to do. It can add three watermaks to any size image. The action uses Layer Styles these can not be recorded in a relative way so if you try to watermark small images the styles are too thick and if the image is massive the layer styles are too thin. However you can adjust any layer style for the action leaves the layer intact so you can modify any layer style used. The three watermarks are done using three different methods. One a shape layer, One a text layer and the third a color logo laye these are scaled for the current images size.

Alright please help.. I have tried everything, been fooling
around with this in the past 5 hours and its not going anywhere :(

ok so basically, from what i can figure out what this action
script does is : somehow it calls out a mc called "all action page"
and the contents inside this mc are two layers. one layer is just a
stop frame, and the other layer has multiple frames, each frame in
the layer are each different mc's .. the _root.value is the value
of each frame, for example if i change the value to 2 or 3 it will
load frame 2 or 3 within the "all action page" mc..
now my question, is is there any way i can replicate this
script for the use of button 4 ?? i know i can just keep adding new
frams and mc's to the current "all action page" and just keep
changing the value that corresponds to the frame number, but i
would like to make it more neater and structured incase if i need
to change anything. any suggestions ??

CS3: how to create action to add fixed text of foreground color, etc.

I'm trying to create an action and/or brush preset(?) that will:
1) Add a fixed text string in the forground color, consistent font, size, etc.
2) Apply a consistent Layer Style -> Bevel and Emboss setting
3) Allow me to move the text to whatever position
4) Change text layer opacity
5) Flatten
At some point in the past when searching the internet I came upon a description of how to create a brush preset (I think that was it) that did at least most of this, but somehow I seem to have lost the preset and don't know how to recreate it.

First it is And/or you can create both or one or the other. For in actions and scripts you can not automate the use of a brush.
1) Add a fixed text string in the forground color, consistent font, size, etc.
    Easy if all images are the same size and a little more work if image size vary for you will need to scale the image.
    If you want to scale the image back to it original scale at the end of the action you need to use a little script in the action. .
2) Apply a consistent Layer Style -> Bevel and Emboss setting
    Again easy if aoo images are the same size not posible if images vary in size for many setting in layer style are in absolute pixel size.
    However layer styles will look good for a range of images sizes like Print Size or thunbnail size or small web sizes.
    Therfore I create actions for print size images and work full size. if I need smaller image I work full size and resize before output.
3) Allow me to move the text to whatever position
     This is quite easy to do in an action you simply add an interactive transform step after adding the text layer.
     However this is not a good idea if you want to batch the action. Interactive sort of defeats batch.
     With an action it is easy to posion a layer.
4) Change text layer opacity
    Simply change the added text layers opacity and or fill and it will be recorded.
5) Flatten
    Simple just record it I don't like actions that flatten though. If you give your action to some and the use it on an image the did a lot of work on the may get very upset the your acrion flatten all their work.

Open multiple PDFs in Photoshop at specific size for use with Actions

I am having a bit of a roadblock with batch Automate in Photoshop. I'd like to open multiple PDFs at 630p x 630p, 72 dpi in greyscale. I have 2000 files to do this on. If files are already open, the rest of my action works, does a few things, then saves for web as PNG. It is just the open which is not working. It tries to give all files the same filename. Taking the filename out of the Action is not an option. Scan of msg boards say that this feature stopped working around CS3. Any ideas? Much appreciated.

Open opens images the same size and resolution they are saved. If you want the images to be a particular size you need to do that in the action.
If you download my crafting actions package. You will find the there are over a dozen scripts I wrote to be used with in action. One is a plugin script that would be particularly helpful to you to do the resize you want to do. The first three steps would be Step 1 menu File>Automate>AspectRatioSelection.... You would set in a 1 to 1 Aspect ratio. Centered, rectangle. replace, selection and 0 feather. In its dialog. Those settings will be recorded into the Actions step. Step 2 menu Image Crop. that will make you image square. Step 3 menu File>Automate>Fit Image... In the Fit image dialog you would set 630 in the width and height fields. These settings will be recorded into the actions step. When the action is played no dialog will be displayed. The recorded settings will be used.

Action Item from Meeting Minutes

Hello,
I am using unifier version 10.1, I logged as coadmin and created a Meeting Minutes for a project. Inside that I have added line item, with 'create action item = Yes' (assigned to coadmin itself). But even after posting Meeting Minutes, no action item created.
How to create action item for that perticular line item?

Go to Admin mod and navigate to Action Items BP setup. At Auto Creation tab Setup, Creator and Action must be selected. Unifier will use the workflow selected here for auto created forms.
Also at Meeting Minutes setup in Auto Creation tab select Action Item created. Here you can define condition based auto creation, example you can create Action Items only when Meeting Minutes has a certain status.

I need an action/script for image resizing with a "special" attribute

Having a headache, nothing work so far the way I want it...
So here's the deal: I have a bunch of psd files and I need them saved as jpegs in a fixed size - 450x590px.
The filename of the jpeg should be the same as each psd and the images should be resized proportionate.
The psds have irregular sizes, some are tall, some are square, some are wide, etc.
I tried using the place function on a template, but that requires my input - choose what to place, then type the filename.
Any ideas?

So have both Portrait and Landscape images with varying size. and want to create jpeg from them that are 450x590 pixels in size. Can the have Portrait and Landscape orientations. If they all must be Portraits 450px wide by 590px high your landscape images composition will not fair well. For cropping landscape image to portraits image normally crops away to much image content. Content aware scale may work somewhat better then cropping to portrait the introduced distortion may be acceptable.
If Portrait 450x590px and Landscape 590x450px is an acceptable solution. I would go with a cropping solution for there will be no distortion and centered crop composition are usually acceptable. It can also be done with a two step action used by an image processor script. If you download my crafting action package. It has a plug-in script that can be recorded in an action to set a 45:59 centered aspect ratio selection which you follow with an Image Crop step. You run the Image Processor script have the action make the crop and the Image processor to resize the crop to fit into a 590x590px area.
