DEPRICIATION TAB: Error: no fields in that tab ...its empty...

Also check Define Screen Layout for Asset Master Data & Define Screen Layout for Asset Depreciation Areas in Master Data in Asset Accounting.

Error whle creating Main Asset Master(AS01)

while i was trying to create the asset master , ABAP run time error is displayed "snap_no_new_entry" and i could not able to save the asset master.
please provide some solution for this problem.......

Enhance the Time Dependent Tab of the Asset Master AS01

Hi,
My requirement is to enhance the Asset Master Client dependent Tab transaction AS01.
I have added a field in the ANLZ through some Append Structure.
And added that field in the Custom Screen.
After doing the functional config that field is visible.
In the Time dependent tab, when we press MORE INTERVEL PUSH BUTTON A new screen appear with certain fields which already present in the Time dependent tab.
Now my question is: How I can insert the new enhanced field in that and how we can save the data in ANLZ table.
We are using ECC 5.0 version, requirement is to add some fields similler to ECC 6.0 version in time dependent tab of AS01 transaction.

Main Asset master problem

Hi Every body,
when i am posting the F-90 Asset purchased , This error will be coming
No depreciation areas have been defined for asset 1-0
when i am creating the main asset master After click the Depreciation area it's not available any information. How to maintain the Depreciation area details in main asset master.

Hi,
When creating a new Asset Master using transaction code AS01, in the tab Depreciation areas enter the Depreciation Area, Depreciation key and useful life. This is a mandatory field, unless this is entered you cannot save it.
Before this all your configuration settings for the Depreciation Area should be complete.

Group box in asset master record's tab overlap each other

Hi Gurus,
I was wondering anyone has seen the same issue that I'm experiencing. I'm on EHP6 and have logged the issue with SAP but wondering if you've faced the same problem.
I basically designed a new tab layout with 2 tabs and assigned the following group box to the 1st tab
S0001     General
S0003     Time-Dependent Data
S0002     Posting Information
S0013     Equipment
to the 2nd tab I only assigned
S0009     Origin
S0100     Depreciation Areas
Then I assigned the new tab to the asset class.
Now when I create the asset through AS01, the tab and group boxes appear however the time-dependent group box overlaps with posting information (please see below). Have you experienced the same issue in your environment?

Dear Minab,
This is definitively the problem of overlapping of the layouts.
The asset master data transactions AS01, AS02 and AS03 uses a generic tool to define the screen layout. Unfortunately there are some restrictions on that tool which are based on basis functionality.
The problem is caused by compression and resizing (note 203023)
Since Release Enterprise there are more fields on that screen in Release Enterprise than before.
Hence, the problem is caused by the definition of your asset layout the solution in your case could be to move the screen to an own subscreen or to move this screen to the end of the tab.
Please go the customizing (transaction SPRO) and follow these steps:
   Financial Accounting -> Asset Accounting -> Master Data -> Screen
   Layout -> Specify Tab Layout for Asset Master Record -> Define Tab
   Layout for Asset Master Data
Select in your layout the relevant tab page.
Here you may need to change positions and group boxes around. Unfortunately there's no other solution possible due to technical restrictions.

WBS element in Asset Master (Period Dependent Tab)

I have activated the WBS Element in Account Assignment Object in Asset, which has resulted in WBS Element field has appreared in Period Dependent Tab.
But the issue is that its grayed-out & i am not able to fill-in any data in it.
Can you please infrom me how can i activate WBS element in Asset Master ( Period Dependent Tab)

Depriciation key and useful life periods in asset master should in display mode only

Hi all
At the time of creation asset master AS01 we are given the Asset class, company code and similar of asset (1) then we click enter button we will get Create asset: master data screen here in general tab we enter the description and in time dependent tab we enter cost center manually
But
When we click on Depreciation tab here the Depreciation key and use life fields are automatically come with Dep.key(ABC) and use life(15) (Because we maintained in OAYZ)
Here user have a chance to change the Dep.key(ABC) and use life(15).so my requirement is these two fields are display with only display mode .
User don’t have chance to modify this.

Hi Anil,
The screen layout for Asset and its depreciation tab are different. You have to make these fields as Display only in the screen layout. This can be done using T-Code AO21. Below are the screenshots for the path and screen layout for your reference. This should solve your issue

Problem with the creation of asset master record

Hi Gurus,
i am having problem in creation of a new asset master with the use of existing man asset number and different asset sub number. I am trying to create the asset in the same company code but different depriciation area, but the system is not allowing me to do that. Is there a setting in the SPRO by which I can allow the use of creation of the asset number by using the already existing asset number with the new asset sub number. This is actually happening in the system for one type of equipments but not for other.
Can any one tell me what settings are to be made to allow this for all containers.

Hi,
A sub asset master can be created with AS11 only.
You cannot create a asset sub number under a main asset number, in the case, where different set of dep areas needs to be maintained.
When you create a sub asset, all the dep areas will be copied to sub asset's master from main asset master. Since this set of dep areas cannot be different from main asset to sub asset.

Add custom tab in Asset Master

I would like to add a custom tab in asset master (AS01, AS02, AS03).
I have read through the documentation for enhancement AIST0002, but still don't know how to do it.

If you have create a proj in CMOD and activated the screen the new tab should be avaliable if it is not it might need some customizing try like below:
Transaction AOLK>>Select your Asset class click on General Assignment of Layout
Go to transaction AOLA. Copy the tab layout u2018SAPu2019 to create another layout, say, ZSAP.
System will copy all the settings and will inform you about that.
Select your newly created layout and double-click on the folder u2018Tab page titlesu2019.
You want to put your custom fields in the tab page u201CGeneralu201D. So, select this tab page entry and double-click on the folder "Position of Groups".
Here, all the field groups currently residing in the tab-page u201CGeneralu201D are shown. Add an entry for your newly created fields.
Select the group box from the list. An entry will come with u201CUu201D padded with the custom subscreen prepared by you.
Then, save and come out.
Now, go to tcode AOLK and assign tab layout ZSAP. for asset class 1000.
check now.

Error message AA119 while creating asset master through AS01

while creating asset master (AS01), i am getting following error:-
Depreciation key M003 not allowed (Check your entry)
Message no. AA119
Diagnosis
Depreciation key M003 is not defined.
System Response
Processing is terminated.
Procedure
You have the following choices:
Use a defined depreciation key (use input help).
Define a depreciation key in Customizing ("change" pushbutton) and activate the key.
I have done following in configuration:-
1) No change in base method
2) copied multi level method from standard key "011" to "M03" and maintain vlaue as - Acquisiton year - 9999, Years - 999, Validity period in month - 12, Base value key as - 01and depreciation % as 10
3) No change in Period Control Methods
4) Copied standard depreciation key "GL20" as "M003" and maintain the multilevel method as "M03"
5) save the configuration
6) Activate the depreciation key by selecting depreciation key and clicking on Activate button on top of the screen
7) Import the configuration
now while creating asset, depreciation key M003 is appearing in drop down list but getting above error. but if I tried with depreciation key GL20 (which is standard depreciation key) system accepting the input
In target client, depreciation key display in Active stage.
please revert if anybody has any clue to come out from above problem.

Thanks for your response.
I got the solution and now problem has been resolve.
Initially i have maintain Scrap Value as Default Value from Company code and Depreciation Area in Depreciation Key (AFAMA) and I was getting the error. But now I have change the Scrap Value as CutOff Value is ignore and problem gets resolve.
But still do not understand the relation between the erro and Scrap Value assignment. Any Idia. It will be helpful for other members also.

Copying the same interval to Sub-asset master

Hi Friends,
My client is using 4.6c Version. The main asset master is having two time intervals in the time dependent data tab. With reference to that main asset, when we are creating the sub asset master all the time intervals are automatically copying to sub asset. But they don't want to copy all the intervals and want to have only latest interval to subasset.
I have tried the same thing in ECC 6.0, it is copying only the latest interval. But it is not in 4.6C. Any suggestions please..

Have a look in the the field status settings from your asset, there you define these copy rules

Personal number field in asset master

Dear experts,
In Asset master-Time dependent tab we have option to put the personal number.
Kindly tell me where we have to configure this personal number in the system and we are not using the HR module in present implementation (this will get any table problem in for the creation personal number in asset master)

Even if you are not using the HR module, you can still create Employee Master in the HR module and specify the Personnel No in the Asset master...
You might need to do some basic settings in HR to create Emp master....

Asset master -field status control

Hi..
Iam creating Asset master (as01)..In Dep Area Tab in asset master I have
1)01 book dep
2)15 Tax bal.sht.
The problem here is the 15 Tax bal.sht dep.area is in dispaly mode ..so i cant input the dep key,useful life....
Can any one tell from wher I can change the status of the dep area 15 in asset master data from display to CHANGE.

Check the following T.codes:
OA77:screen layout for asset master data
OA78: for screen layout for asset depreciation area
before that you have confirm are you using group asset for tax depreciation
