Is it possible to create maintenance order directly through project while creating network activity?

    I need to define back ground job for Maintenance Order Settlement through KO8G transaction code.
    Here are the requirements
    1. The job should run on weekly basis automatically.
    2. The settlement period and posting period should be taken care by the job dynamically. i.e. if the job runs in July, the job should pick up Settlement period and posting period as 7 automatically.
    Kindly let me know the steps to define the back ground job as per above requirement.

    To run the KO8G  each week, the a RECURRING job has to be created.  At my job, Basis/Ops department would create and schedule the job.
    To have the posting periods, dates etc dynamically determined at the time the job runs:
    Create the variant and save.
    In 5.0, KO8G does not save a variant, therefore, go to SE38 and create a variant for program: RKO7KO8G
    When you go to the ATTRIBUTES screen, to add a name and description, you will see a list of all the fields that are part of the selection criteria. 
    For an example, I frequently use the Posting Date. To the right of the screen is a field called Selection Variable, click on the drop box and select D - Dynamic Date Calculation.
    Go to field NAme of variable, click on drop box and select the variable you want.
    Each field has its own list of selection variable and name of variable depending on how it works in the progra.
    If you look at Posting period you will see:
         T: Table Variable from TVARVC
         B: User-defined variables
    I do not know about User defined variables, but for TVARC there is thread that leads to a "how to" blog

    I have a scenario where purchase requisition with Item Category – L (subcontract External) for Repair items (Storeroom Process) need to get generated with Item category-L.This requirement is to MAP in my system.
    I am aware that purchase requisition can be created with reference to maintenance orders.
    Can anybody through some light on the integration between PM and MM.
    If creation of purchase requisition is possible via maintenance orders then please explain me with detailed steps both configurations and master data so that I can able to replicate the same as per business requirement.

    You have to installed DIMP 6.0, and activated the business function Refurbishment and Subcontracting (LOG_EAM_ROTSUB) and Serial Numbers in Purchasing (LOG_MM_SERNO) .

    Your solution is perfectly works for me. Earlier solutions are also useful the things is you have to first activate the authorization object through SE24,that means change the Check indicator from N (Not checked ) to C (Check )or CN(Check & maintain)

    You can do it by linking a Maintenance Plan and Milestones.
    create Maintenance plan cycle
    Create a mile stone in your project.
    Trigger a milestone function module.
    Inside the function module call the function module to tigger the maintence cycle with will create the MO when the milstone is triggered.
    You can also explore variant configuration for doing this.

    I have a requirement to generate maintenance order automatically when a particular assets warranty is soon to expire.
    I am aware of the option to get pop-up box while creating maintenance order if the equipment is under, but this wll not meet my requirement.

    Hi,
    you can go for general preventive maintenance plan creation. whatever your requirement is, you can create relevent task list, assign your strategy of maintenance for that asset after its warranty is over and so on up to a particular period, say 365 days.
    Then create strategy plan (IP42) and schedule it in such a way that it generate its first call object by the end of warranty and keep on generating as per your requiremnts. schedule it (IP 10), and you will get call objects (notification or order) as per your requirements.
    It is an standard SAP practice, hopw it will work for you, without any enhancements.

    I have created one maintenance order through maintenance notification. In the order text description instead of notification text description it is taking long text which I have entered in subject description of notification.
    Is there any settings available for this? what may be the problem?

    Pls try the the following :
    Go to SPRO->Plant Maintenance and customer service->Maintenance and service processing->Maintenance and service orders->Functions and settings for order types->Define Notification- and order Integration. There u'll find a check box Long Text against your order type. If you are getting the notification Long text Description in your order Header, it must be checked.  Uncheck it. Save it.
    Hope this will solve your problem.

  • Creation of maintenance order from notification

    Hi experts,
    Is there any standard settings available by which I can block to create maintenance order from a notification until & unless it's system status is "NOPR"?i.e when the system status of notification is OSNO ,system should not allow to create maintenance order.
    Also in notification front page under TAB 10\TAB01(Notification1), I want to populate activites under screen area 015(item+cause) like object part,damage, cause code as my users do not want to enter the activities under tab 10\Tab12(Activities) due to the complexity it containes.

    Hi Rajib,
    First one:
    Create a user status profile for the notification . In the initial status make it forbidden for the create of order. So as soon as you create the notification system will set to the initial status and will make it forbidden to create order at OSNO.
    You have to assign this status profile to the notification type you want to do. Further you can make status profile in auhtorization control also.
    refer the config path: Maintenance and Service Processing ->>Notification Processing>>User Status for Notifications>>Define Status Profile.
    Second one:
    In the config path
    Maintenance and Service Processing>>Maintenance and Service Notifications>>Overview of Notification Type
    select the notification type you want to include the activity code in the header data. click on Screen Structure for Extended View >> selec the 10\TAB01 add the 045 in the screen area , most possible it will be at 10\TAB01

    in Customization >Plant Maintenance & Customer service>Maint & Ser Processing>Maintenance & Service Notifications>Notification Processing>Additional function>Define follow-up actions for tasks;
    Here I am creating a follow-up action for a task as create order and thought of assigning an order create function module ALM_ME_ORDER_CREATE with modifying the subrc parameters with some return values. Can it be done this way? I am asking because I am not very sure as to what is the best way to acieve it. I want to achieve this min minimum development.
    Please explain in detail.

    In IP30,
    Go to menu path Program -> Execute in background
    Make the necessary printer settings in the Background Print Parameters popup screen and t press the green tick (or hit ENTER)
    Do the following in the Start Time screen: (1)Click the Date/Time button and enter the start date and start time for the job. (2)
    Click the Period Values button (bottom of the screen) and click the Weekly setting then save to exit popup. (3) Click the save button in the Start Time screen
    Go to TCode SM37 and check that the system has created a job called RISTRA20. Also check the frequency by double-clicking the job name.
    Have you done up to this step?

        I have tried the same. I want to know the parameters used for that formula. Also let me know the formula completely. I could create the Measurement document. But counter reading has not updated. I think the parameters for that formula might be wrong.
    My formula is SAP_11 * SAP_15.
    SAP_11 field name is SPLIM (Operation Splits)
    SAP_15 field name is MGVGW (PRT qty).
    Is that formula correct or else whats the wrong in this. Please help me.

    I like to know the how to assign the budget for a maintenance order. how we control the expenses from a maintenance order. suppose for a small work manangement assigns budget as 2lacs. now i like to restrict if any thing purchased once budget reached to 2lacs system should populates the error message to restrict the creation of Purchase orders / material requisitions and some other issues.     Hi,
    There are different approaches for budget control in PM orders.
    1) Option1: In koab transaction maintain commitment managemen active and in budget profile (oioa) you must tick total values ,annual values,activation type should be 1-automatic activated when budget allocation done. Then distribute budget in PM order through KO22.
    2) Option2:You can also opt for Investment management approach but it is mainly done in case of capital work/projects/internal orders. In this approach you need to activate IM for orders(done by CO people). Investment programs are created and budget distributed through IM52. For details you may consult your FICO consulatnt.
    3) Option3: Fund Management approach enables you to monitor budget-relevant plant maintenance processes. enables you to monitor budget-relevant plant maintenance processes in FM.
    The link between the plant maintenance process and FM is established by entering an FM account assignment (commitment item, funds center, and fund) when you create a plant maintenance order.
    You have to enter the FM account assignment manually. If, however, you have maintained the assignments of FM account assignments to CO account assignments, the system determines the FM account assignment from the cost center of the technical object (functional location, equipment) which is assigned to the plant maintenance order.
    FM takes care of budget related processes from creation of maintenance order till settlement.
    Hope this helps you to decide an appropiate approach.
