Creation of Permanent parameter

Dear experts,
We have new requirement where in we want to create a extra permanent parameter.
Now we have following options to explore.
1. Can we make existing sub assignment as permanent parameter.
2. Can we add a new characteristic to totals cube and make it as permanent parameter.
Please advice me if any other option possible.
Thanks
Kamal

Dan,
It's possible to include an infoobject to the totals cube.
In the data basis you must assign it the role. Did you ever see the 'Parameters' role in the data basis?
Or assign a role like subassignment and then choose as a perm parameter?
Have you tried it?
I did. And the result was written in my first post.
Maybe I didn't use all possibilities. So, please inform us if you were (or were not) successful in what you proposed.

  • How to create a dynamic parameter off a universe field

    Post Author: Summer Frend
    CA Forum: General
    Hello,
I am trying to create a dynamic parameter in Crystal Reports off my universe field. However the fields appear to all come in as STRING with length 65534 (memo field?). Therefore the fields are not available to choose in my parameter creation box. NOTE: In the universe designer, the field is set as CHARACTER type. I am just trying to make it work with the sample universes that are shipped with BobJ.
Is there a way in the Universe Designer to make the fields come into Crystal Reports as string fields so that I can choose them as the value for the dynamic parameter in Crystal Reports?
    Thanks,
    Summer Frend

    I'll try again,
My problem is that I want a dynamic paramater for my Master flow (on START1 activity, so it is something like that : start1.param = select seq.nextval form dual; or from a function GET_PROCESS_ID) but it seems that I must give a permanent parameter it can not be set dynamicaly. I want my flow to be independant of any human intervention. So if it is the first load it does one thing if not the first load it does something else. I can not understand the point of having a parameter (in) that can not be set dynamicaly (looks more like a constant to me, or I'm missing something here). Hope your getting my point.
    Thanks again

  • MI - Configuration Parameter Sets

When trying to access the "Configuration Parameter Sets" option under the Mobile Administrator page I am getting an error:
Connection is already closed and no longer associated with a managed connection
When I try to create a new parameter set I get a java.lang.NullPointerException  exception. Please help.
    Thanks,
    Mahwish

    Hi,
If you click on any link under the mobile Administrator you will get similar error like "Connection is already closed and no longer associated with a managed connection"
For this above issue please check the following points.
    1. Visual Admin>Services>Connection Container.. here Check the number of connections values??
    2. Check all the authorization are assigned to access the RFCs to user which is mentioned in SAPJRAFactory_EN.
If we resolve the above problem you would not get any null pointerException during creation of the parameter sets.

  • Unable to get a connection for pool - ResourceUnavailableException

    Hi
I have a BPEL process which starts a child instance of another asynchronous BPEL process for each message in an XML file. The child BPEL process makes a call to the Oracle Apps JCA Adapter to push the data into E-Business Suite.
All works perfectly except when the number of messages exceeds a certain limit (15 or so). The error received is as follows:
"Exception occured when binding was invoked.
Exception occured during invocation of JCA binding: "JCA Binding execute of Reference operation 'SyncPersonRecord' failed due to:
JCA Binding Component connection issue. JCA Binding Component is unable to create an outbound JCA (CCI) connection.
    ebsPeoplesoftEmployees:SyncPersonRecord [ SyncPersonRecord_ptt::SyncPersonRecord(InputParameters,OutputParameters) ] :
The JCA Binding Component was unable to establish an outbound JCA CCI connection due to the following issue:
    javax.resource.spi.ApplicationServerInternalException:
Unable to get a connection for pool = 'eis/Apps/Apps',
    weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceUnavailableException:
No resources currently available in pool eis/Apps/Apps to allocate to applications.
Either specify a time period to wait for resources to become available, or increase the size of the pool and retry.. Please make sure that the JCA connection factory and any dependent connection factories have been configured with a sufficient limit for max connections.
Please also make sure that the physical connection to the backend EIS is available and the backend itself is accepting connections. ".
The invoked JCA adapter raised a resource exception.
Please examine the above error message carefully to determine a resolution."
Obviously what is happening is the connection pool maximum is reached (currently 15) and this is throwing the error.
What I need to do is to implement the suggestion of "specifying a time period to wait" and I was hoping someone could tell me how I do this?
I have tried setting the 'Connection Creation Retry Frequency' parameter to 30 seconds which made no difference and also have checked the documentation on "Configuring and Managing JDBC Data Sources for Oracle WebLogic Server".
Does anyone know if this is something that is implemented directly in the BPEL process/composite or in the connection source itself.
    Many thanks

  • Crystal Reports, MSSQL User Defined Function returns recordset

    Beginner here
Desiring several reports having the same basic logic, I made an SQL table-valued function that returns a result set. It takes two parameters and returns a result set.
When I select this function in the Standard Report Creation wizard, a parameter window pops up to enter the values for the parameters. I fill in the string and select today's date. Then it complains:
Database Connector Error: 'ADO Error Code: 0x80040e14
Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
Description: Line 1: Invalid procedure number (0). Must be between 1 and 32767.
    SQL State 42000
Native Error: 1005 [Database Vendor Code: 1005 ]'
These reports are an accessory to our main program that passes formula values, and I anticipate using formulas for the parameters.

  • Process Chain for Consolidation Functions

    Hi Team,
We have created a process chain for consolidation function as required by client, but we want the process chain to check the preceding  task status and only on successfully completion it should  proceed to next task. Is there a standard program or function module which does this, please update.
Also we would like to pass dynamic permanent parameter values for the variants of task.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind Regards
    Sridhar

    Hi Collet,
We have created a process chain  as  below:
Period Initialization - Data Collection -LDS - Calculation of RE - Validation of RFD - Interunit Elimination -COI.
I have created the Separate variants for  each of the above functions with program UCBATCH01.and the process chain is working fine.
But we want the process chain to check the task status before it proceed to next task execution and stop if any error occurs in the task. Also we want the  dynamic selection of parameters from Permanent Parameters of Consolidation Monitor.

For MRP generated PR I add creation indicator B - Material requirements Planning.Even after add creation indicator release strategy is not triggering for PR.
To trigger PR any setting need to do other than add creation indicator.

    Hi
You don't have to include creation indicator as parameter. Check in what documnet type MRP PR is generated. You can see it in t.code OMDT. At document type level also you can manage it. You need to include creation indicator only if a seperate person approves MRP generated PR.

  • Wireless Guest Account Lifetime Limits

We currently have ACS 5.4 and Cisco WLC 5508's deployed. We have wireless lobby admin accounts that can login and successfully create and modify guest wireless accounts. What we are trying to do, however, is give the lobby admins the ability to create wireless accounts with lifetimes longer than 30 days. Currently our setup will only allow the creation of permanent accounts (by entering all 0's in the lifetime fields) or accounts that last up to thirty days.
Does anyone know how to modify this?

Admins can create accounts of just about any length as the lifetime fields seen by lobby admins (days, hours, minutes, seconds) is replaced by just one field (seconds). You can customize the number to any length as an ACS admin but lobby admins are limited to a max of 30 days.

  • Environment configuration for Hot Backups

    Hi all,
    1. I am trying to create a hot backup tool based on the read-only Environment strategy ([discussed in a previous thread|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=3674008#3674008] ).
Now, leaving aside the EnvironmentConfig.setReadOnly(true), I have found quite a few possible other configuration options in the EnvironmentParams class and I'm wondering if there are some that I should be using.
Here are a couple of examples:
    - ENV_RECOVERY
    - ENV_RUN_INCOMPRESSOR
    - ENV_RUN_CHECKPOINTER
    - ENV_RUN_CLEANER
Would it make sense to configure any of these?
    2. After creating a hot backup I have tried to test its state. Basically, the approach was quite simple:
    - open a read-only env on the backup
    - try to access the databases in the env
My idea is that if the above 2 ops are succeeding then there is a very good chance that the backup is correct.
Now, while playing with the above configuration options I have noticed that if I'm setting ENV_RECOVERY to false in this test environment, then any attempt to access the databases within results in a DatabaseNotFoundException.
Can someone help me understand what is happening? (basically, I cannot make a connection between recovery and access to the DBs in the environment)
    Many thanks in advance,
    ./alex
PS: I've forgot to mention that I'm running a quite old version: 2.1.30
Edited by: Alex Popescu on Aug 13, 2009 5:50 AM

ENV_RECOVERY - suppresses running recovery at Environment creation. Internal parameter.
ENV_RUN_INCOMPRESSOR, ENV_RUN_CHECKPOINTER, ENV_RUN_CLEANER - disable the INCompressor, Checkpointer, and Cleaner Daemon threads.
You should not need to adjust any of these parameters for your DbBackup utility. In fact, ENV_RECOVERY is an "internal use only" parameter.
PS: I've forgot to mention that I'm running a quite old version: 2.1.30
I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but as my colleague Mark Hayes stressed in a previous post, you really need to upgrade from 2.1.30 to 3.3.latest. It is highly probable that you will eventually run into bugs with 2.x and we are unlikely to (1) be willing to diagnose them, and (2) fix them. As Mark pointed out, 2.1 is 3.5 years old and the product has had a lot of improvements in that time. We are happy to answer questions on this forum relating to the latest major release, but dealing with old and crusty code is certainly going to be well below our allowable priority level.

  • Consolidation Unit Time Dependent

    Hi Experts,
We are in Issue for the consolidation unit.
My client requested not to extract some consolidation unit transaction data from R/3.
He may use, the companies latter on (may be next year) in consolidation process.
For this I changed my permanent parameter for period and changed in LDS --> Selection Tab page I select exclude companies (which client not requires data from R/3).  After saving it effect from previous period instead of, from current period.
How I can over come from this, I did any wrong, if so where i have to maintain these setting.
    Thanks
    Madhu

Hi Dan Sullivan and Eugene Khusainov,
We are using Consolidation system from 2006 onwards with 55 cons unit.  Data for 55 cons unit getting from R/3
We configured one Load from DS, method and task for all Cons units.
Now my client requires, out of 55 cons units some Cons units they don't want data from R/3 for cetain period.  But those will be appear in Consolidation Unit hierarchy.
Can I restrict cons unit in Load from DS in selection tab page.
    My Questions are:
    1. If I restrict cons unit in selection, it will effect from current period or from previous period which we already executed .
    2. If  I am wrong let me know the correct procedure for restriction of data extraction from R/3 for certain Cons Units which client not requires.
    Thanks

  • Capital Investment process

    Hi,
Can someone explain to me in details the steps followed in capital investment process.
What are the basic steps followed in details?

    Hi,
When you have decided to buy a capital equipment, following procedure is usually followed.
    FICO:
    > Create an investment order for that asset.
    > Create an asset, with reference to the above investment order.(can 'asset under creation' or permanent asset class, which will be decided by FICO)
    MM:
    > create a material master for the asset (equipment)
    PM:
    > create PR with account assignment   'F' and use the investment order as the account assignment. This will link the FICO activity to the procurement process and will continue as integration.
    MM:
    > convert the respective PR to PO and do the GR.
    PM:
    > create equipment master for the asset received with acquisition date filled.
    > when commissioning is completed, give the start up date and install the equipment.
    FICO:
    > when the asset is commissioned, FICO will convert the AUC into permanent asset, if required or start the depreciation activity immediately. The permanent asset number may be entered in the equipment master.
    > There are two ways to achieve link the asset to equipment master automatically and FICO can give more details on that activity.
