Creation of Production order for FInished Product through Project

Hi,
Pls clear me on how we can create a Production Order for finished product.  
If we confirm the production orders in PP, cant the same be confirmed in PS.. Should we consider the same activity types in both PS and PP

your answer has been very helpful... but could u clarify  why MRP is run in MD51 for WBS element and in MD02 for network..

I have  a Assemblies B and C which are always delivered in sets.. under assemblies B and C,  we have 6 sub assemblies which has its own components.  I am assigning sub assemblies to differenet WBS elements 01 and 02. so, initially these sub-assemblies are produced to stock. this should happen in PP i.e., through production orders generated in MRP run ( MD51 ). In the next phase i will assign Assemblies B and C to another WBS element.  Again system should generate two Production orders thru MRP for this. Here the 6 sub-assemblies produced earlier will be consumed in confirmation of the production order...
What i am doing is this correct...
and the procurement for the components is happening thru the purchase requisition generated via MRP. the components themselves are not directly assigned to the project..
Pls advise and clarify?

    I will explain clearly so u can come what is hapening For Ex: Item ABC having child item A,B & C.
    when calling the BOM of ABC in Prodn.order its showing the available of A, B & C... But after the production over for the Semifinished product it increases the stock.
    When i am calling this Semifinished Product in other Produciton Order For Ex: Item AZ having Child item ABC & XYZ.
    In this Scenerio it has to show the Available of item ABC whic is semifinished product its not showing,but in the same Production order it showing the available for Other item XYZ which is purchased one .. So this is the nature of SAP or i am doing any wrong....

  • How do we Prevent Creation of Production Orders for Phantom materials.

    Dear Experts;
    We have some materials which are Phantoms.
    We have set "special procurement type" as 50 in MRP2 and "Strategy Group" as 59 in MRP3
    These are non stchable items, but have BOMS.
    We dont create orders for them, however at the mement the system allows order creation. How do we prevent creation of production orders for these items in the system.

    Dear Richard,
    Check using this BADI - WORKORDER_UPDATE using method IN_UPDATE or Release by including a check if MATNR and for
    WERKS combination if SOBSL = 50 from table MARC,then do not allow to save.
    Check whether this works or else you have to set a plant specific status using OMS4  for not allowing production order
    creation and assign this value in the material master of the phantom assemblies.

  • Creating a production order for a semi finished product

    I am having a multi level bom scenario over here.
    one of the bom components of the header material is a semi finished product.
    I am using the planing stratagy 40 for that material.
    in standard sap when i create a production order for  header material. the requirement gets transerd to all the components. if the components are not available then only  a requirement is placed. when i run MRP that requirement gets converted in to a planned order. which converts in to a purchase req or a production order,
    well for my semi finished product. its a Work in process item. there wont be any stock for that item in the storage location any time.
    what my requirement is. when i create a production order for my finished product it should automatically create a production order for the semi finished product.
    is this possible with some configuration settings.

    for ur requirement u need to maintain MRP type PD for FERT material and also for ur HALB.
    If u run  MRP  only, it will create planned order for FERT and for all its dependent requirement(for PD).
    If u create order manually for FERT material then it will not create order for HALB material, u need to create manualy for this also.

  • Daily Automatic delivery creation for Finished Products

    Dear All,
    As per my client requirement, they need automatic delivery creation when ever the finished products posted(Reached) in to the Finished Products Storage location with out time specification.
    Scenario is like this.
    1.Scheduling agreement will be created for one month or one year for the specific customer with specific products.
    2.After producing the material, from the production line finished products will taken in to the Finished product Storage location with some acknowledgement.
    3.When ever the acknowledgement happen(stock get added) automatic delivery need to be created for that acknowledged quantity with reference the scheduling agreement.
    4.There is no time specification When ever the finished products stock acknowledgement happen automatic delivery need to be created.
    5.There is no quantity specification also what is the quantity at finished products Storage location acknowledged for that quantity automatic delivery need to be created .
    6.If there is no production-->There is finished products -->No delivery should trigger.
    This will be applicable to specific customer and specific material only.
    Please give your valuable inputs as early as possible.

    1) Who creates the acknowledgement..
    -->Finished Products Storage location people will run this entry when they recieve the finished product from the production line.
    2) How frequently is this acknowledgement created..
    -->When ever receives the finished products from the production line,
    3) Is this acknowledgement a print out or a documetn type.
    -->It is not a print or document type, it is just an Transfer posting entry to add the Finished products qty to the existing stock at that particular storage location.
    4) If it is document type does it appear in document flow.
    -->No it will not come in the document flow.

  • Planned Order for a Product not being shown

    Hi Experts!!
    I am an ABAPer and I am new to SAP APO. We are now working on /SAPAPO/PPT1. When clicked on some quantity, all the planned orders existing for that product are being shown with respective quantities. Now, I am trying to create a new planned order for a product through FM BAPI_MOSRVAPS_SAVEMULTI3 by splitting the quantity among the receipts. I have gone through several posts and have written the logic. But the newly created planned order is not being shown in /SAPAPO/PPT1. I can't find it anywhere. Am I doing something wrong here?
    Here I explain it with an example. I have an aggregated entry for the month of June with quantity 3000, which is already split under receipts 1234 and 1235 as 1000 and 2000 EA respectively. Now, I need to split it as 1000 EA for each planned order and hence am creating a new plord. I am using same FM for changing plords as well with quantities as 1000. So, now both the receipts are being shown with quantity 1000 and the aggregated value as 2000... and the newly created one is missing. But I need the new one to be displayed and the aggregated should be 3000. Why is this happening? Am I missing something?
    I already have posted a query that is related to this total requirement. Change Receipt Quantity for Planned Order in LiveCache . This has the first part of the total requirement. Just provided for extra info, but not related to this issue however.

    With prior experience, i am sure that the BAPI SAVEMULTI3 can be used for Creation & Change.
    I dont think,the FM's which you are using, are recommended by SAP. So , try to use BAPI most of the time,as it ensure data consistency.
    As you told, order is not flown to ECC, but visible in APO, i would suggest you to check the importing parameters of the bapi, like EVENT CONTROL ( should be '1' ).
    and COMMIT_CONTROL(should be 'E').
    Also, check your queues after execution of bapi. you should find your change pointer in the inbound queue of R/3 System. Do let me know if you still stuck.

  • How to get all production orders for a workcenter

    Hello ...
    I have a requirement to create a report of all production orders for a given workcenter.  The user enters the workcenter (CRHD-ARBPL), plant (CRHD-WERKS) and a date range, and wants to see a list of orders (AUFNR) that fall within that date range along with some other data from AFKO and AFPO. 
    I can't figure out a good, consistent way to get from workcenter to production orders.
    Any ideas?

  • How to create production order for multiple items having common raw materia

    Dear all,
    We are running a sheet metal fabrication company at Vadodara Gujrat.
    Please guide us how to create single production order for multiple items using single raw material??
    For example, We want to produce baby shirt(item code AAA001), shirt with full sleeve(item code AAA002), shirt with half sleeve(item code AAA003),shirt slim fit (item code AAA004),shirt loose fit(item code AAA005) from single raw material say(item code XXX001).
    Right now we have to create 5 production order to produce above 5 items of single sales order  in SAP B1 though it is made from single raw material which is foolishness and time consuming too. (Please also note that to produce any finfish good item, raw material required for that item may vary every time in our process.)
    Kindly guide us how to solve the problem.

    This is possible through MRP for that you have to put Sales Order first and Run MRP Wizard
    MRP Wizard Put Multi Production Order as per Item Taking in Sales Order just click it on and execute.

  • Create a Production order for rework

    Hi,
    I would like to create a Production order for rework.
    But I don't want to do it in the master PO with trigger point.
    I would like to create a new PO for rework and asign to account to the old or master PO.
    I've tried to do it but I want to know if it's correct.
    CO07, maintained the qty, in the settlement rule maintained (category= order,settlement reciever= master PO number) released the order and by confirmation where can I maintain the qty? (as Yield or as rework qty)

    Use T code CO07- creation of PO w/o material, settelment rule as u mentioned and the quantity has to be maintained in rework.
    When u confirmed the order and settel it, it will be settel againts the main order.

    We release somany order for 1 fg.. I mean we relase 1 order for Finished goods and another  4 to 5 order for Semifinished goods..
    Is there any possiblity to auto release the SFG order while releasing the FG order...

    Normally to start the production of FG, we need the stock available for SFG.If there are many production orders to release then you can use CO05 (manually) or you can schedule a back ground job (automatically) using the program PPIO_ENTRY program.

  • How do we do production orders for same item code in different sizes

    Hi,
    We have Items which we buy as a single sheet of material and our customers can ask for us to cut the complete sheet into different sizes before despatching it. i.e
    Item Code Sheet1: Sheet size 100mm x 100mm
    Customer asks for sheet to be cut into 10 off 10mm x 10mm sheets, which we presently put on the sales order as a line note
    We then generate a production order for this item and indicate on the production order printout the line note
    We've recently had a customer who has asked for Item 1 in two different sizes on the same sales order ie
    Order Line 1 Sheet1 Qty:1 Line note: cut into 10mm x 10mm sheets
    Order Line 2 Sheet1 Qty:1 Line note: cut into 50mm x 50mm sheets
    When generating the Production order SAP combines the items into
    Product No: Sheet1
    Planned Qty: 2
    Where as we want it to create 2 production orders 1 of each different sizes items.
    I know I can create BOMs for those two sizes, but customers can ask for the sheets to be cut to whatever size they want. Is the best method to create BOMs on the fly for each different sizing option or are there alternative methods that are easier to manage ?

    Hi Carl Rutter,
    You have to creat 2 special production order for this item. when issue the component make sure you issue the stock as per the cosumption becaue one have 10mmx10mm and the another item have 50x50 in this case you issue component by square inch wise. for example 10*10 = 100 squre inch.
    50*50 = 2500 square inch so the cost will be approtionate. you can Use multiple uom method to obtain this, other wise you have covert into stock then you issue the component. If you want traxk size wise ,you can use batch option for Finishe goods.

    i hav alternative BOM for finished product in which different raw material component in both BOM of same finished product.But when i RUN MRP that time only one raw material requisition generate another alternative bom raw material requision not generate.
       Is there any option when i RUN MRP that time we select one of the alternative bom component of  raw material for generation purchase requisition.

    MRP will select the BOM based on the MRP4-BOM Explosion tab -Selection Indicator .It can eitehr of these ways :
    1.Maintain Production Version with  different Alternative BOM  and keep Selection Indicator -3 .So sysetm will look into only the Valaidty  and lot size of the Production version and select the correct BOM to explode  and generate PR for depednts based on stock situation
    2.If you maintain Blank -then it will look into order qty and select the BOM according ly
    As in your case , selection methods 3 will fit  and you need to maintain PV with correct validity and lot size in MMR-MRP4-PV option .
    Try in sand box with different lot size and validity with indicator-3 .Create Order and run MRP-MD02-1,,3,3,3,2
    Check and revert

  • Production order for configurable subassemblies

    Dear experts,
    we have a situation with configurable end products with very complex multilevel BOM, were some of the assemblies and subassemblies on the lower levels (1, 2, 3 etc.) are configurable materials too.
    The SOP planning strategy is 56 (or 89). The MRP planning run results in planned orders for the MTS details and PIR's for the configurable materials.
    The question is: is it possible to manualy create planned (production) orders for the configurable subassemblies before the sales order? How can we manualy valuate the characteristics of the subassemblies?

    Characteristics Based Planning will let you create demand for lower level assemblies to drive in inventory for commonly used components or raw materials prior to receiving a firm customer order for a finished assembly.

    Hello every one. I am finding difficulty in creating a particular planning scenario. I require to sell a semi finished material which is assigned to a finished material. Finished product strategy is 50. Semi finished has strategy group with main strategy 70 and another strategy 50. While running mrp for finished material everything is running perfectly. But if i generate sales order for semi finished it is generating without errors, but requirements are not generated for the semi finished in MD04. Please provide solution.

    MRP can not generate sales order. It is an element which is being created manually after the customer is giving us PO. Against a sales order planned/production/Purchase order can be created.MRP will create production/procurement element. Not the sales order.
    If you want to create sales order for semi material, create it manually(Or create CIR). The availability check should be 2 for the semi. Then it should appear in MD04 screen after putting the semi material in input screen.
    Your concept is the semi should be consumed for finished product as well can be sold also.
    In that case you have to create sales order separately. If some requirement is generated (PIR etc) internally, then MRP can take care of those requirement. But not the sales order.
    If you are talking with sales BOM, that is a different concept.
