I have bought the tunes on itunes, I highlight the tunes, right click and press create ring tone and get 'itunes could not connect to itunes server, unknown error occured (11556) It then tells me to check my connection except there is nothing wrong with it and I can get on itunes no problem. • I downloaded Ringtone from iTunes into my iPhone 6 and set it as the default Ringtone. Worked well until I had to recharge my phone. Now disappearred from my iPhone but shows in Tones when phone sync'd. How do I get to show back as default Ringtone

I downloaded a Ringtone from iTunes into my iPhone 6 and set it as the default Ringtone.Worked well until I had to recharge my phone. The Ringtone has now disappeared from my iPhone and I'm left with just the Ringtones that come standard with iPhone 6. I sync'd my phone and it shows in the Tones folder. How do I get the Ringtone back as a default Ringtone in my iPhone 6. Quite frustrating!!

In iTunes, try signing out of your Apple ID & then back in: click on iTunes Store on the left sidebar of iTunes, click on your Apple ID on the top right, sign out, sign back in.  Then try to sync your purchased music to your phone again.

  • Ringtones Selected for Sync with iPhone does not showup in iPhone

In iTunes library under ringtones I can see few files and I can play them as well (They are of type m4r format). However when I chose to Sync All Ringtones (or even specifically this) iPhone does not show this in its Custom tone list.
This is happening for a specific ringtone. Other ringtones I am able to sync and see it in iPhone.
    Please help.

Plug the iPhone and go to files/Transfer purchases...
The apps should start transferring to your pc...
You'll see them in iTunes, in the applications list...
Click right in any of these apps and you'll find in which folder these files are located...
If its not transferring the apps, it means the appleid with which the apps have been bought is not authorized to be used on the iTunes and on this pc...
Go to AppStore, sign out from the appleid you're signed in to, and sign in to the appleid used to download the apps...
After you sign in, download any free app...
That should take care of authorizing your account on your pc and therefore allow transferring the apps to your pc...

  • Cannot get ringtones to appear on new iPhone 5

I have four ringtones that I purchases which display on my Mac iTunes under "Tones" and they are all checked in their checkboxes.  My new iPhone 5 was loaded via iCloud from the beginning.  But under "Sounds" setting my ringtones do not appear.  I've looked everywhere.  If I try to use my Mac to sync it now, I can't because then it will erase my iPhone and I'd have to start over from scratch.  My iTunes is a very old back-up, I've been using iCound to sync ever since we had the ability to do so.....
So, my question is....HOW do I get my purchased ringtones to disaply on my iPhone without hooking it up to iTunes ?????????

You can't.  At the present time, purchased ringtones cannot be downloaded from iCloud.  The only way to get them back on your phone without syncing would be to repurchase them.
BTW, there is a way to sync your phone to a "new" computer/iTunes library without losing any (or little) data by carefully following this user tip: Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive.  Be sure you are using iTunes 10.7 or later.  If you're using iTunes 11, first go to View>Show Sidebar in order to follow this guide.

  • I bought a ringtone from itunes on my iphone 6 plus. But it doesn't show up my phone or my PC.

I bought a ringtone from itunes on my iphone 6 plus. But it doesn't show up my phone or my PC. I did realize later that my credit card info was old when I bought it and updated it. Today, I a got an email saying I purchased it, but the ringtone still doesn't show up on my phone or the PC. What should I do?

Connect your iPhone to computer iTunes
Use iTunes menu File > Devices > Transfer Purchases from ....
to transfer your purchased ringtone to computer iTunes.

  • How do I make a ringtone with GarageBand for my iPhone from rights-protected AAC audio files I purchased from iTunes?

When I try to import some songs I purchased from iTunes into GarageBand so I can create a customer ringtone a window pops open stating that I cannot import a rights-protected AAC audio file?  I bought the song from iTunes and can play it on my iPhone iPod application.  Does not make sense except from a mercenary perspective why I cannot create  a custom ringtone from the song and play it on my iPhone when the phone rings.  Is there a solution?

You cannot use DRM protected songs for this as they are drm protected to stop you from doing this.
Any itunes plus ( all itunes music sold over the past couple of years or so) can be used to make ringtones.

  • How do I get m4r ringtone files to load on iPhone 5

A note about me...  I don't watch movies, listen to music, play games, tweet, twitter, or any of that.  I use my phone as a phone, have a few basic apps that I find useful.  I use of the camera to capture the needed documentation every so often.  I want ring tones to separate out work from personal contacts and I have a few that I want to load on my phone.
I've converted several sound effects/music snippets to .m4r as I believe are required for being used for ringtones on iPhone 5.  I am getting frustrated and dismayed at my inability to simply move them over to my iPhone.  My iPhone replaced a BlackBerry that never had any problems with importing, creating or playing almost any type of sound as a ring tome.  The iPhone is better than the BlackBerry, so why can't it do this simply...

Can only be done if you have an IMAP or Exchange account. You create the folders on the server & they will then sync to all of your devices. Not possible with a POP account, & locally created folders(on your computer) cannot sync to any of your devices. Same with mail rules, they must be done at the server level.

  • How do I create a ringtone in itunes for my iphone?

I have itunes 10 and a iphone 3gs. I'd like to use one of the songs in my libarary to create a ringtone for my phone. What are the steps to doing this?

Set your iTunes import preferences to AAC encoder / HQ
Select the track you want to convert - right click - get info - Options
Select Start/Stop Time: Make sure that the resulting playtime is less then approx 39 sec - OK
Right-click again on that track: Create AAC version
Delete the resulting file from your iTunes library
Move it from Trash to your Desktop
Rename it from .m4a to .m4r
    Double-Click that .m4r file

  • Ringtone Not Showing Up in iPhone

I purchased a song from iTunes. Utilized the 'Create Ringtone' tool within iTunes and purchased the ringtone. I synched the phone with my computer. The 'Ringtone' folder in my Library and on my iPhone both show the new ringtone which I created so it seems as though it was synched correctly. However the ringtone does not show up on my iPhone under Settings>Sounds>Ringtone. Just the standard out-of-box ringtones are there.
The ringtone is under 30 seconds. Manually synch ringtones is unchecked. I am baffled by this one. I synched the phone multiple times. What am I missing? I thought I was pretty savvy at the iPhone but this is my first custom ringtone so I guess I have a lot to learn.

Were these ringtones purchased or created via exporting to a 40 second clip? To play them on your phone they must be less than 30 seconds AND in AAC format with a .m4r extension. Technically you can create a ringtone from any song in your library by doing this. In file info of th song change the start and stop time to any :30 second...or less... Time and follow the preceding steps.
    Good luck.

  • Transferring ringtones from a 3GS to iphone 4

I got an iphone 4 today, I was able to transfer most of my data from my 3GS to the 4, however i can not get my ringtones. there is no option for ringtones when the 4 is plugged in but when i plug in the 3 they are still there. someone plz help! its becoming extremely frustrating!!!  thank you

Not sure what you mean by there is no option for ringtones when your iPhone is plugged in.
The various tabs for your iPhone 4 sync preferences with iTunes are the same as the various tabs for your iPhone 3GS sync preferences with iTunes. This does not change and is not contingent on the iPhone model. There is a ringtones tab for your iPhone 4 sync preferences with iTunes which is where ringtones available in your iTunes library are selected to be transferred to the iPhone.

  • After 2.0 update,  Ringtones won't sync to iPhone

I updated to the 2.0 OS the other day, and for the most part, everything is working fine. But, for some reason none of my ringtones are transferring when I sync. Neither my created ones or purchased ones from iTunes. When I click on the iPhone in the devices list and look at ringtones on it, the list of tones is there, but there are exclamation points next to their names, and I do not have access to them on my phone.
Any ideas? I created a bunch of tones and didn't save them! Help!

Thanks! I tried what you suggested, and it worked! Yay, I have my ringtones back! Now, if I could just my AIM application to stop crashing. ::sigh::

I purchased a ringtone FROM my iphone. The purshcase appears in "Music" on my phone; but how do I set it as a Ringtone?

grrrr...if anybody has figured this out, I'd love to hear what you did. I have the same problem. I can't set a ringtone that has downloaded to my music library as a ringtone. Is this a secret? I've read everything I can in the manual. The only thing I saw was ringtones are located in your music library.
