  • Error in creation of source system

    Hi Experts,
We are facing a problem while creation of source system. We are getting an error "You have no authorization for basic types (activity 03)" Kindly help me to resolve this issue.
    Regards,
    Jitendra

    Hi there,
if you get the error again, please go tcode su53 directly and see for which object the authorization is missing. I understand you have SAP_ALL access but for any authorization issue we normally go to SU53 tcode and verfiy.
So once you get the object name then go to SU01 and open your id. Go to authorization tab and find for that object and see if '03' activity is assigned to you or not.
If this step is absolutely fine then we can think of alternative solution.

  • Creation of Source System

    Dear all,
i am new to BI 7.0. can you help me how to create source system.

    Hi,
You can actually create many type of source systems depending on your business requirements.
Go to RSA1 transaction in BI.
choose Source system. Depending on the type of system you require, right click and choose create.
then you have to follow the procedure it says.
As in case of SAP source sytem you have to give the R/3 system name/ID etc and user name/password to connect to and from R/3 system.
For this you have to maintain RFC destination to communicate to and from R/3 system to BI system. Then it will login to the R/3 system and will comeback to BI and start transferring matadata and BI contents  from R/3, choose without dialog option when it ask you otherwise it will ask you every time it will transfer new object.
    Assign points if it helps..........

  • Creation of Source System(R/3)

    Hi,
I'm trying to create R/3 source system in BW(RSA1->Source system->Create) but it fails to create.
I have created RFC Destination on both BW & R/3 systems.
I tested them for 1) Test connection 2)Remote connection.
Sucessfully able to remotely login to each other systems.
But when i create from RSA1 its failing.
    Any help please ?????????
    Regards
    prabhakar

    Prabhakar,
while creating the Source System, <b>if you right click on source system and go with check</b>...it will give you the error. if you click on Question Mark or Help Ocon. it will what you need to do in order to get rid of this problem.
you need to create a entry in the <b>RSADMIN</b> table. check for RSA1> tools> there is an option that will update the table RSADMIN.
In furture, if you come accross any such problems with Source system... go with check.
    all the best.

  • Could not create source System to r/3 Server

    hi,
I have a BW QAS System
I am  trying to create a r/3 system(QA2) as source system   to this server.
When i go to RSA1 and create the source system, i am getting the following message Source system PD2CLNT100 does not exist
R/3 System QA2 was copied from PD2 yesterday. The logical name for the client 100 is still PD2CLNT100
I understand that this is a problem in R/3 Server that the logical name should reflect something like QA2CLNT100 which was before.
    Pls guide

    Hello Balaji,
Have you run BDLS after  the system copy. If not please do it where in you need to replace PD2CLNT100 by QA2CLNT100 .
    Regards.

  • Probelm in creating R/3 source system in BW 3.5!

    Hi,
steps i did for the creation of source system in BW are as follows!
    1) crated RFC destinations in each of the system (BW3.5 and R/3 4.7 IDES)
    2) created logical systems in each of the systems and assigned the client to the respective logical systems
    3) created back ground user in BW (Back ground user was already there in BW side, namely ALEREMOTE)
      4) and in RSA1 screen when i attempt to create source system, it is asking for RFC destination and Logical system which i did . and after that, i am seeing neither the source name created nor any other next screen .
am i missing some thing here?
do suggest me the steps furthur for creating source system
    Thanks,
    Ravi

    Hi Dinesh,
    Thanks for ur reply!
now i did just as u told to me to do in automatic creation of source system!
i am getting the following info on the pop up window :
BW LS1 is already known T90CLNT090 in the source system
do you want to delete this connection in source system?
connection is restored after it has been  deleted successfully
which option shud i use delete or dont delete?
if i am selecting "don`t delete" option  iam getting the message as source system cannot be created with any of the proposed connections!
and i donno what wud be the effect if i select delete option!

  • Source System Error

    Hi Experts ,
I have to create a source system for Production server in BW Ides .
My Production server client 999 , It is assigned to Logical system CL999.But CL999 Uses a RFC Destination to support place so it could not be changed .
So i created own logical system LSYS999 .  And created a RFC Destination to BW and used that in Port .But my Logical system is not assigned to client.
If i check My RFC connection on both sides it works fine.
The source system is also created in BW , RSBASIDOC Table also has Active state.
I created a generic data source in Production Server , Replicated in BW , It also came.
Now the problem is when i assign Data source to info source , During Activation the following error comes
    <b>Error in source system CL999</b>
    Message no. RSAR502
    Diagnosis
With Remote Function Call to system CL999 error Function module "<b>RSAOU_BWBC_GET</b>" not found.  ccurred.
    Procedure
Remove the cause of the error.
How to solve this .....Awaiting for your great response
    Regards
    Shiba

    Hi,
please go in rsa1 onto the relevant source system and press "check". I assume that the connection is not fine. This will help you to get some more detailed information.
    Follow the protocol.

  • Source system icons changes when connecting SAP BW to mySAP ERP 2004

    Hi,
Just an Interesting observation in relation to the creation of source systems in SAP BW to SAP Web AS 6.40 based systems (mySAP ERP 2004, mySAP SRM, etc).
I thought it would be interesting to share!
The behavior is logical but can be a surprise for a BW administrator who is not aware of the new internal SAP BW systems within mySAP ERP 2004.
    Scenario:
The customer was connecting a stand-alone BW system to two new systems with latest and greatest mySAP ERP 2004 (ECC 5.00) and mySAP SRM.
    Observation:
In the past the SAP R/3 source system would be created with a "SAP R/3 icon" indicating a SAP Source system.
<b>As of mySAP ERP 2004, the source systems will be created in the SAP BW standalone system with the "SAP BW System icon".</b>
Note: This is also the same behavior for new releases of mySAP SRM, and other SAP applications that are <u>based on SAP Web AS 6.40 or greater</u>
    Why?:
The standalone SAP BW system is connecting to a system that contains an internal SAP BW system. The standalone SAP BW system determines that it is possible to extract <u>both</u> from the internal BW System <b>and</b> from the Plug-in extractors. It simply denotes that this source system is a SAP BW system and uses the BW Source system icon. (Remember SAP BW is client independent*!).
Note: This behavior will still occur even if you do not use the internal SAP BW system within mySAP ERP! It is there whether you use it or not.
Second Note: You can still use the ERP Content extractors from the mySAP ERP Source System as you did in prior releases.
    Another related observation:
I would expect that this case will probably be true even if you only use the internal SAP BW.
Scenario: You use the internal SAP BW in another client in the mySAP ERP system than your ERP processing.
Result: The connection between the BW client and the ERP client source system(s) (i.e. client 001 for ERP, client 100 for BW), both the 'myself' and ERP client source systems, will show up as BW source systems!
Source system 001 and source system 100 will be displayed as SAP BW icons because SAP BW is client independent*
user master and authorizations are client dependent
    I hope this was interesting.
    Cheers,
    Mike.

    Hello,
I used my user id to login. I recieved a message :
User already exists in source system  I continue:
Anothre window pops up : "Check  RFC connection" and it asks
'RFC connection already exists in source system . Do you want to check, use or cancel source system connection'
Here I select Use - but i get an error : Error in source system'.
how can i track down this error.

  • Source system connection issues

    Hello BI Experts,
We had issues with the source system connection - from our BI system (NW 04s) to our R/3 system (ECC 6.0) .
From RSA1, when we right click on the R3 source sytem and do a "Check", it was erroring out: "Error in source system <Logsysname1>". This Logsysname1 was different one from the actual R/3 system's Logsys name (Logsysname2) .
To Fix this, we restored the connection by selecting the (R/3) Source system and right click and "Restore".
After providing the passwords for the RFC users, the system again asked "The Connection <XY> is used in the <Logsysname1> Source system as a connection." And we selected the "Delete" option here. Then in the Logon screen to R/3, we provided the administrator user Id and password.
Once the source system connection is complete, we checked the connection as mentioned above and the "Source Sytem connection is OK" now.
    (1) But now, in the transaction RSA1, the R/3 system is displayed under "BI" instead of "SAP".
    (2) When we asked our BI consultant to check the dataloads, he encountered an error: "No transfer structure is available for InfoSource <X> in the Source system. Errors in Source system".
How can we bring the R/3 system under "SAP" now?
If we delete the R/3 system (which is listed under BI) and recreate under "SAP", will the transfer rules will also get deleted?? How to avoid this issue?
    Please advise.
    John
    SAP Basis.

    Hi,
Please make sure that you have followed the below steps while creating the Source System
    1.     In the initial screen of the source system, choose Tools ® Administration ® User Maintenance ® Users and create a background user with a password and the authorization profile S_BI-WX_RFC.
    2.     Define the RFC destination parameters for the SAP source system in BW. To do this, choose Tools ® Administration ® Administration ® Network ® RFC Destinations in BW.
Enter the information taken from the source system on the server name.
    u2022     Application server: pswdf090
    u2022     System ID: IDF
    u2022     System number: 90
The destination name has to correspond to the logical name of the source system that you entered for the process step Define Logical System in the implementation guide for the source system. For user and password, enter the background user that you created in step 1.
    3.     Define the RFC destination parameters for the SAP BW in the source system. To do this, select Tools ® Administration ® Administration ® Network ® RFC Destinations in the source system. Enter the server name information taken from the BW system.
The destination name has to correspond to the logical name of the BW system that you entered in the process step Define Logical System in the BW Customizing Implementation Guide. ALE communicates using the name of the SAP Business Information Warehouse that you defined. The defined name represents how the SAP Business Information Warehouse is identified. For the user and password, enter the background user that you defined in the BW Customizing Implementation Guide under Business Information Warehouse ® Links to Other Systems ® Link Between SAP Systems and BW.
    4.     Test both RFC destinations with the functions Test ® Connection and Test ® Authorization.
If an error occurs during the authorization check, the background user is not permitted in this client and with this password. If an error occurs in the connection test, it means there is a network problem.
    5.     In the BW Administrator Workbench choose SOURCESYSTEMTREE ® Root ® Context Menu (right mouse button) ®Create and select the radio button for the manually creating an SAP source system.
    6.     Enter a description for the source system and the logical name of the source system that you entered for the process step Maintain Logical System in the source system implementation guide.
If you still have any issues, let us know.
    Regards,
    Yogesh.

  • Inconsistent Dev System: Infosource assigned to incorrect Source System

    Hello all
Our Development box contains inconsistent assignments of infosources to source system.
When I compare the dev, quality and production boxes I find:
    > Quality and Prod are consistent and all infosource systems are assigned to correct source systems - all loads execute as expected.
    > However I find ips defined in the process chains in Quality and Production under incorrect source systems in the Development box.
    > Also, the inconsistencies are varied for ex: SALESORG_ATTR is assigned to source system Y, while SALESORG_TEXT is assigned to source system X, while 0CUSTOMER_ATTR is assigned to source system Z ( where Z is the correct source system).
I have not been able to figure what lead to this inconsistency except that I am aware that there were plugins installed and some refreshes done followed up by BDLS.
I did try having BASIS execute BDLS to convert all logical systems X to Z ( but there were errors in the log stating that destination Z already exists - which is correct since for ex 0CUSTOMER_ATTR is assigned correctly to source system Z)
I was considering the following to rectify this situation:
    1> Make the rectifications manually
1a> Identify all the infosources in all the process chains in quality/production
1b>Manually reassign all infsources/datasources to the right source system
1c>Check all the mapping rules (transfer rules) and ensure they are same as quality/production
    1d> Activate the transfer rules
    1e>Create infopackages
1f> Transport the ips to quality and reassign them to the process chains.
    > This is a very labourious task and invovles high risk due to manual effort
2> Refresh from quality into dev
    2a> Recreate the transport routes
2b> Resynchronize all the loads with the R3 dev box
    > This would cause loss of version history and therefore not recommended by SAP
3> Rollback to a restore point
3a> We would need to find whether we maintain a restore point in the past before which the system were consistent.
3b> Reimport all the transports from the restore point till date
    4> Rerun BDLS
4a> This might involve deleting all occurences of source system Z from the dev box
Please advise what would be the best approach / if theres a better way to address this issue.
    Thankyou
    Edited

    Hi,
Goto RSA1 in yy BWQ system.
In the Menu ---> Tools --->  Mapping of Source System Names ( Shift + F6)
Change the Target Source System as BWP server.
Now move the transport to BWQ. Your BWP will be assigned as source system.

  • Rsa1 source system deactivation

    hello ,
When i was working on rsa1 after creation of source system i right click the source system and pressed "RESTORE" but the object displayed deactivated symbol and trying to activate it but it still remain de activated
please can any one tell me the solution to the problm
on check it gives following error:
"Source system <name> is inactive" ID RSAR
    Thank you in advance.

    Hello,
Please check your RFC destination whether the source system already exists.
In the source system creation you assign the IP address instead of source system name. Please go through the screens (SM59).
If you have not used IP address you can ignore it.
    Thanks

  • Source system Connection for DB2

    Hi All,
I need to create a source system for DB2 in SAP BI 7.0.
I have some information about the DB2 database but not sure if that info is sufficient to create a source system for this server.
    The info I have for DB2 server SERVER1  :
    FOR SERVER1:
    1)    Username: User01
    2)    DB Password: XXXXX
    3)    Conn. Info : BCDT
I could get the info that database name is entered with the parameter u201CDB2_DB_NAME=u201D  (is that right ?)
I believe that there needs to be more info for "Conn Info" other than just what is provided.
