Creation of ZRPA_MARM in Retail

Hello!
I have created new info-object ZRPA_MARM in retail BW project. I want to know when ever we create a new Bespoke info-objects, WHY all the related tables are created in local instead of storing transport request where info-object is stored. for example /BIC/PZRPA_MARM is stored under local but i had stored my ZRPA_MARM ina transport request.
My other question is:- is it ok to create custom index on P table (/BIC/PZRPA_MARM) so that other teams can access the data fast from this table? I am not sure if we should allow creation of custom index on /BIC/PZRPA_MARM?
can any expert put some light on my Q?

Hi,
To your first question, its because you dont create these tables. Thes tables are automatically generated when you save and activate the infoobject. So, once the infoobject gets transported to your quality system or production system, automatically those tables would get generated there.
As to your second question, I dont think there is any problem in creating any further indexes on these tables. Just ensure that you carry out Rebuilding of statistics on this table, after index creation. After this, just check for existing queries or dataloads as to whether their performance is not affected.

Do I take the chance

I changed from Talk Talk to BT on the 11th August and now my phone does not work! I have a constant engaged tone I cannot receive incoming calls either. I have reported the fault and I have been advised that I have to agree to a engineers call out which could cost me £130! Hi, the thing you have to realise about the test system BT use is that it is very basic and in all honesty not reliable at all, I think it is something like only 60%ish accurate.
You see in the old days when BT were just BT and not the seperate companies it now has to operate by the Repair Advisors on 151 were quite highly skilled and were like virtual engineers who had access to the type of test systems Openreach use. But over the years BT dumped down the Repair Advisors roles because they basically wanted to pay them less and in order to do that they had to make them lower skilled, basically just doing what the computer tells them to do and say.
Also with the creation of Openreach BT Retail had many of those test systems taken away from them because it would not be fair that they have access to them when the likes Sky and TALK TALK don't.
So what I am saying is even though the line result says it test OK I bet you a million quid that the fault will be on the Openreach network somewhere.
So when the Openreach Engineer does come out and finds the fault, say on the Distribution Point or in the MDF don't complain that the 151 advisor was an idiot and couldn't find it in the first place because they can only go by what the useless test system BT and Openreach give them to use.

Creation of new logical systems in IS Retail

Hi All,
"For every new store opened, create one Logical System"...i have come across this sentence in 1 of the documents which spaeks about creation of logical systems
So should i create one Logical System for every store and if i am sending Gift Vouchers to POS so should i create Logical systems for it

Logical system is a System in which applications sharing a common data basis run. In SAP terms, a logical system is a client in a database. Messages are exchanged between logical systems.
Now the context you are talking about is not clear. Can you point out the specific information about the statement
"For every new store opened, create one Logical System"
It depesnds upon the background discription in that document.

Creation of Plant in IS-Retail

Dear all,
We have IS-RETAIL system operative and we would like to create a new company code and plant which is not into IS-Retail .
We need to create a new plant which should work for ERP and not for IS-Retail.
I have changed the site profile to empty to make it as Plant ,but through which way i should create a plant ,through IMG or WB01
Please advice the appropriate method to create a plant by copying existing plant.

User Creation in Oracle retail allocation and RIB Hospital Application

IS-Retail -Merchandise Hierarchy IDOC creation through transaction WPMA

During creation of IDOC for Merchandise Hierarchy through transaction code WPMA & selecting transfer material groups in other data. System create segment for all merchandise hierarchy available in system. If we need to transfer only specific merchandise hierachy for that company code in POS system this is not possible. Also we cannot transfer delta changes in Merchandise hierarchy. Each time we create IDOC you need to transfer all hierarchy nodes.
Is there any transaction by which we can create IDOC for specific merchandise hierarchy.

This will help a lot for me but in this linkages will not be able to analyse by POS system. This will not tell which node is connected to others & their levels. This is gap between WPMA & WAFS. You can send changes with WPMU but changes in node is not getting transfer through this. Thanks for input

Plant creation in IS-Retail.

Hi guys..I need you help...I create the plants in Retail by transaction WB01. I'm using the plant profile 0110 for plants (stores).
But now i have the situation that plant was create as store needs turn on a distribuition center (0100 Plant Profile). I need to change the profile plant 0110 to 0100.
Is there possible to make change in plant profile for a retail plant?

IS-Retail: Site Creation Best Practice

Hi !
I have 3 basic questions on this topic:
1. In IS-Retail is a Site considered 'config' or 'master data'?
2. Do all sites need to exist in the golden config client, or is it sufficient to have only the DCs (and not the Stores) in it?
3. After go-live, is it ok to create new stores directly in production? (I hope the answer to this q is yes!)

Hi my answers for your qestions as follows
1) In IS Retail Site is a master data, but to create Site/DC/stores need to do some config in SPRO, Like...
Number ranges for Sites, Account groups, create DC and site profiles and assign account groups to them.
then you Create DC or site using WB01, now site master data will consider.
2) yes you should have all Sites in golden client ( i am not clear this questn)
3) After golive better need to create new stores on devleopment in then export (using WBTI/WBTE) to prodcution, in case any future changes requires to do something on stores like assign/delete merch category etc... you can do its easliy to aviod data mismatch in the production.

BAPI for ARTICLE creation in IS-Retail

I am creating an Article using BAPI_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_RT by passing below parameters for Basic view.
1.material type
2.merchandise category
3.material category
4.description
5.uom
6.transportation grp
7.loading grp.
8.valuation class
9.tax class
Also marked X in respective places in structures clientdatax,plantdatax,headdatax etc.
Anyhow still it showing errors like "key field of table MARA missing"
I am able to create article from MM41 using above 9 fields.
What fields shd be passed to this BAPI to create an ARTICLE?
OR ANY OTHER BAPI/RFC FM EXIST TO CREATE ARTICLE?
Please help me in this regard.

I have to call BAPI for Article creation from Portal front end.
so I cant use BAPI_RETAILMATERIAL_CREATE as it goes to MM41 when we execute.
So I am using BAPI_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_RT to create article.
I passed all mandatory data which is required to create a article with basic view.
Using MM41, I am able to create but with this BAPI iam unable to create article.
Could you please tell me what are the required parameters to be passed in addition to my fields which I specified below:
I passed
HEADDATA--material type,merch.category, material category,basic view marked x.
MATERIAL DESC--material description
CLIENT DATA--uom,transportation grp, tax class
CLIENTDATAX---marked X in above fields
PLANTDATA-loading grp
PLANTDATAX-marked x for above field
ADDL CLIENTDATA--valuation class
ADDLCLIENTDATAX--marked X for v class

I created an article and vendor master. Then I tried to create PO using the above. I got an error stating that " Article not listed in SITE. How to address this error?
And, how article, vendor, site and Porg relationship is established in SAP retail.

Hi Ram,
A reference site is not a pure template. It is more an organization maintenance level for master data. Behind is hidden a sophisticated copy and reference handling. But we start with the simple things.
As you can see in transaction WSS1, there are two input fields called u2018Reference Site for DCsu2019 and u2018Reference Site for Storesu2019
In these fields we strictly recommend to enter at least a value in DC field and also in the Store field, if you define your reference level globally for store. There exists a deeper level of reference definition for stores on distribution chain level.
But before you can enter here something, check your business and define a clear vision of your master data future. Then create a reference site with the know transactions, give it nice name and of course a virtual physical address.
Yes, this is correct we are creating a virtual site and not a real one, because in ERP Retail, it is recommended to use these sites as copy references. In the future, the behavior of the reference sites can change. And a very important thing - these sites should not be used as productive sites keeping stocks or have accounting data.
For example, generic articles will be maintained on such reference sites only, because they do not have stock. The article master will be maintained in the logistic views on these reference sites. You can identify this because the site field in the logistic view is empty. That means an empty site field represents the reference store level. (just select a logistic view in article master without an entered site value)
In a following chapter we will see, how a field value on a reference site level will be inherited to depending sites. The assignment will be done automatically. All Sites from type DC will be assigned to the reference DC and all stores to the reference store. Depending on a distribution chain level, you can have additional lower reference store.
In the upper view, you will see also a field called u2018Vendor default datau2019. This is a setting for specialist. In chapter reference handling we will have a deeper look on it. Important to know in a 2 level distribution between vendor to DC and DC to site, the determination of a source of supply will have impact on logistic master data of article master. Depending on this setting, the some logistic parameters will be taken from the vendor level. Changes on vendor data e.g. planned delivery days will change article master data in a mass update run.
e.g generic article will be created virtually on the reference sites, but they cannot have real stock.

SAP IS Retail Outbound Idoc Creation for New Articles

Hi SAP Gurus,
Good day!
I would like to inquire if you are familiar with the necessary set up to create OUTbound Idocs to be sent to POS whenever a new article is created. I have already activated the Change Pointers for the Message Types for IS Retail via BD50. However, this did not solve the issue. I have an existing material which ably triggers the idoc change;however, when I try accessing the materials I created recently, no idocs are created.

Merchandise Category creation for Generic Article in SAP IS-Retail

Hi,
Can anyone help me out to with clear and complete process and settings i have to maintain for merchandise category for generic article for shoes of our client. I created merchandise category with the below transaction codes
ct04,clwe,clwe,clw1 and wg21 but when i used to create generic article i have to find characteristics in variants tab in basic data view in mm41 but i didn't find it.

How to Debugg workflow for Article Creation using MM41 In IS Retails System

Existing system they are using business BUS1001006,Event Created for triggering workflow when you create article using transaction code MM41.
I could see one more business object named ZBUS100106 for triggering workflow when you Create an article.
I just want to debugg the workflow to add some additional validations to trigger workflow when i can create article using transaction code MM41.
Let me know how to debugg the workflow.

ZBUS100106 is nothing but Custom Business Object of BUS100106 creating by extending BUS100106.
You can debug Business Object code thru putting breakpoint in Code and executing the Business Object thru SWO1.
For your requirement you could possibly use SWB_COND Tcode so as to limit workflow lanches.

Hi Sai!
And for the material number of the header material, use BAPI_MATERIAL_GETINTNUMBERRET.
Funnily you have to fill the MATNR, even if you have internal number assignment. But with BAPI, this is not possible, it's part of these two function modules.
