Creative 5.5 subscription won't activate

I am so upset, I purchased the monthly subscription premium version.  I can't get it to activate.  When you initially install it works, then if you go out or close your machine it won't start again.  I have even uninstalled, reinstalled and it did it again. So I thought maybe it was a firewall issue, pop-up blocker etc.  I have removed all of that, I even uninstalled my virus protecter, thinking that might stop it.
I can't believe adobe does not have technical support at night or on the weekends.  Now my class is getting behind.

Thanks for the log files. The issue has been identified.
The Subscription product is not able to activate because of some entries in your host file on your machine.
Please REMOVE ( manually edit and save ) any entry that has "activate.adobe.com" in it.
It is most likely that there might be an entry like 127.0.0.1   activate.adobe.com
You can find the host file at the following location on your computer (Windows 7 / XP) is: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
Please remove this and try activating your product again.
Its most likely that your product should get activated !
Let me know if that works ....

    I dont know which operating system you are working on so i am giving you some steps windows and MAC OS:
    Windows:
    In windows 7 navigate to following location:
      /windows/system32/drivers/etc
    1. look out for "Hosts" file
    2. Open it with notepad
    3. Check if you have any entry for Adobe
    4. Remove the entries and try again launching any product from CS6
    On Windows XP navigate to following location:
    \windows\system32\drivers\etc
    1. look out for "Hosts" file
    2. Open it with notepad
    3. Check if you have any entry for Adobe
    4. Remove the entries and try again launching any product from CS6
    Mac:
    1. Please click on "Go" and navigate to /private/etc
    2. Open "hosts" file and check out for any entries for Adobe.com
    3. Remove the entries and save the file
    4.  try again launching any product from CS6

    I had to install my Creative Suite (orignal CS) Premium (Upgrade Photoshop) on a new computer as one I had it on died, and it won't activate.
    Support says: Swathi: Adobe has disabled the server for the older version because of technical issue.

    The best option would be upgarde to the present version as CS3 is not supported by Windows 7

  • Muse CC won't Activate

    I have been haveing an issue with activating Abobe Muse CC.  It will not activate.  I have a Creative Cloud subscription that is up to date.  Other apps activate and open with no problem including
    Dreamweaver CC
    Photoshop CC
    Code Preview CC
    Illustraotr CC
    InDesign CC
    Edge Animate CC
    The error message I get is Maximun Activations exceeded.  I have clicked on Lisence this Software and entered the login and password.  I get a messgae that I don ot have an internet connection.  But in fact I do have internet connectivity as I am using the computer I a having the problem on to write this message.  I have also clicked on Continue to deactivate my other devices and I get the same message that I have no internet connection.
    I have signed out of CC on both my computers.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled.  The Creavitve Cloud App says that Muse is up to date when installed .  When uninstalled CC app lets me download and reinstall it. 
    I have contacted Adobe Chat and they told me to call tech support.  Tech Support was unable to help me and reffered me back to chat and the forums.  So here I am.

  • Did a new install of Windows 7 and Adobe, but CS won't activate.

    Have Adobe Creative Sweet Premium from a couple years ago. Did a new install of Windows 7 and Adobe, but CS won't activate. Probably did not de-activate the old product. I paid for it though and have the install disks and serial numbers.
    The adobe.com/go/activate website is less useful. Been on live chat for 20 min. It says an agent is available but no one responds. Help?

    That was a good start. Need one more helpful hint. I just found the Adobe DVDs. It is actually Creative Suite 5 Design Standard. It would be nice to put on a box without a DVD player.  Can you please provide me with a download link for CS5 DS?
    I think if I can download it I can handle validating it from there. Thank you!

    I would like to cancel my creative cloud annual subscription. Agreement states that I have to pay 50% of remaining contract. If there are 8 months left until next renewal, I pay 4 months. Does that mean I have access for the 4 months that I pay for?

    If you signed-up for a 12-month contract, and cancel mid way, there is indeed a billing for 50% of the remaining contract obligation. You won't be able to sign in to Creative Cloud applications after you cancel your contract.
    You can cancel this online as well by using the Chat instead of Phone.  I hear the response time on the Chats is much quicker. Also you can get a record of the chat emailed to you at the end, so you personally have a record of the conversation that took place.

It will be for me too expensive at the minimum cost of £9 per month. The additional services that CC brings are personally of no relevance or usefulness. Adobe should be prepared to support existing users who are, like myself, non commercial, amateur photographers by giving them the simple opportunity to upgrade to Lightroom 6 as a standalone, perpetual licence product. As a member of a camera club I know my co-members who use Lightroom are equally disappointed by this move to a subscription-only service.

    Yes, but when I bought my standalone license and clicked on the "Download" button it took me to the LightroomCC page. The downloaded file is named Lightroom 6, but in the CC app the installed program is LightroomCC (2015).

    iMessage and FaceTime went down yesterday for some people. Mine is still down. My iMessage is saying the same thing about being activated. Sounds like you are still down too. Ignore the status page that says everything is fine - it lies.

  • After upgrading to a new 3GS, my original iPhone won't activate...

    After I upgraded to an iPhone 3GS, I restored the original iPhone with iTunes. Now, the iPhone says it's got an invalid SIM in it, and when I plug it into iTunes, it won't activate it. It's basically a brick now.
    Was I wrong in thinking I could now use the old iPhone basically like an iPod touch?

    I haven't seen any press release that supercedes that, but the one you reference refers to the ORIGINAL iPhone, not a 3G. There have been posts here and elsewhere indicating that the restore/upgrade function no longer works on the 3G once you update to 3GS.
    I suppose the original poster can put a phone call in to AppleCare to see if they might be able to get some help from them. I didn't make this rule, I am just reporting what everyone else is seeing, with or without the SIM card in the 3G.

As suggested in the support area I have gone through the process of backing up my profile, deleted existing profile, removed firefox from computer, reinstalled profile in fresh folder, reinstalled firefox 6. I have done this twice for no effect - may work as it used to for a while (30mins) then gets back to its old tricks.
    It is a bit irritating.
