Creative and EAX technology

I canno't find any sound cards other then creativ's that support EAX 3 Advenced HD or higher. All Turtle Beach, Fortissmo and other soun cards I found have at most EAX 2.0.
Do you guys know of a sound card that support EAX above 2.0 AND is NOT a creative product?
Please respond... Thank you

No. Creative has that market cornered. Unless a company were to pay for the EAX licensing for 3-4-5 (EAX). I know it really does blow too. While like the Audigy series it's not healthy to not have competition because it lowers the overall quality and future outlook of PC soundcards as whole ... IMHO. I wish nVIDA had continued Soundstorm technology but they didn't. The most that we could hope for right now would be better implementations of onboard sound (for gaming) though you are still limited to to EAX and 2, but just like the SB Li've 24 bit it's done in software - so there is a huge CPU hit when you enable EAX in games with onboard sound.Message Edited by Wolfen on -0-2005 09:58 AM

I read that they settled the lawsuit and creative is gonna make products 4 apple ipods. but my question is will creative still make mp3 players on their own or will they make stuff and players but under apple's name? or r they gonna do both?

I'm not afraid. I find it rather obnoxious that everyone has an ipod. I bet some people don't do research. Of course, some do, and some don't.
Apple acts rather imperialistic and behaves like a cult.
I find them greedy and money hungry.
Not that I would never try out their products. I already have.
BUT, perhaps in the future, I might support them....or not. It all depends what direction they take and how technology evolves in the future.

CREATIVE And AudigY SE MadnessS!? Hi
WHich is the best driver verson for Audigy Se to use in Xp, I have full Driver Pack that comes with my Sound Card it's old,Drivers are of 2005 and Creative released Another set of drivers SBA_PCDRV_LB__04_006,Which is 2006 driver has not Microsoft WHQL Certified, and on 2007 another one SB24_VTDRV_LB__04_0077,Which is displaying my Audigy as SB Li've! 24bit under Sound & Audio Device properties, and the last 2007 version driver has so many problems When logon on to windows the logon sound is Automatically at High VOlume,It distorts, and all version of these Drivers lacks Treble,i should Pump up the treble In EQ to full get HIgh Frequencies Otherwise it's little bit Muddy,And 2007 Version has is faily Direct Sound Tests in Creative Diagonostic Utility.... There is some problems with Daniel_k Mod pack, even the latest support pack 2.6 , Sound is muddy in Games like Metro 2033,Nfs Most Wanted. PAX drivers are in Beta stage still Hope he will Fix the problem,So i'm Using CREATIVE Defalut Drivers, When Using Default one there is no Problem in games.... So Plz help me to decide Which CREATIVE driver Version IS best.... Plz reply..

    Pookie,
I don't see any pink jack on that card. Are you using the same Audigy SE card as in this link? As far as I can see from the picture, there's only 4 jack(Blue, Green, Black & Orange).

  • I need to know the right tools and java technology

Please help,I need to know the right tools and java technology to support what I need.
    I had background programming in Assembly,C++,Visual Basic,SAP/ABAP 4.
All I can say, programming is about logic, now we are very helped building program using objects.
I'm very interest to SAP tech, where all screens, programs, reports are resides on tables, this is the real dynamic!
CUrrently I'm eager to do the same technic with java. I'm new to java....
What I know the J2EE is the core for me to start is it right? I was very interest with the Client-Server Tech. How can I impelemet this with Java?
I'm a bit confuse with so many java solutions. There is Java Applets, Swing, Java AWT, JavaBeans, etc...
I don't know what is the best if I want my Presentation/Client Application will run within browser (not standard html, using like windows gui). What should I do to make business logic objects, how to invoke it within the gui. how to make installation package whenever clients connect to the http server.
if you have a pointer to do it please let me know.... I'm very appreciate all your response...
    Best regards,
    Lucky Pangemanan

I'd say - don't get carried away with the heavyweight frameworks. Don't use EJB if Hibernate and/or Tomcat will do the job. There's a danger of winding up using a bulldozer to crack a wallnut.
What people mean by "J2EE" varies a fair bit.
Start with Tomcat, which has the virtue of being free. Try some JSPs and servlets.
Use Applets to do client side presentation only if you must; Applets create an installation overhead on end-users, and some of them can't cope, while others may not have the necessary installation permissions on their office machines. They are pretty rarely needed, IMNSHO, most client-side behaviour is better handled with html and JavaScript.

  • ASK THE EXPERTS : High Density Wireless Deployments and CleanAir Technology

    with
Welcome to the Cisco Support Community Ask the Expert conversation. This is an opportunity to get an update on High Density Wireless Deployments and CleanAir technology with Cisco expert Fred Niehaus. Fred is a technical marketing engineer for the Wireless Networking Business Unit at Cisco, where he is responsible for developing and marketing enterprise wireless solutions using Cisco wireless LAN products. In addition to his participation in major deployments, Fred has served as technical editor for several Cisco Press books including the "Cisco 802.11 Wireless Networking Reference Guide" and "The Business Case for Enterprise-Class Wireless LANs." Prior to joining Cisco with the acquisition of Aironet, Fred was a support engineer for Telxon Corporation, supporting some of the very first wireless implementations for major corporate customers. Fred has been in the data communications and networking industry for more than 20 years and holds a Radio Amateur (Ham) License "N8CPI."

You are correct, between the higher numbers of users with multiple devices the bandwidth requirements keep increasing.
The limitation of three non-overlapping channels in the 2.4 GHz space is driving more customers to 5 GHz, it is important to have both bands when high density deployments are needed.  While many older devices only support 2.4 GHz, we are now seeing far more devices with 5 GHz as well.
The recomendation of 20-25 clients and 8 voice calls on a given 2.4 GHz channel is still a good "rule of thumb" with actual customer data requirements driving those numbers higher or lower. You are right when you say "throwing Access Points" at the problem can degrade the wireless quality as co-channel interference and overall noise floor can rise with multiple Access Points that can all hear each other.
A better approach to the problem is to throw more spectrum at this issue (using 5 GHz channels) and elements of 802.11n (20 MHz) bandwidth on 2.4 GHz.
What we have been doing in high density deployments is to try to minimize the propagation of a cell and focus it in a given direction.  This can be done by
    1. Managing the RF power of the radios (Access Points) and in some cases the client's power (using elements of CCX).
    2. Using the right antennas to shape both Tx and Rx cell size to help isolate, we have recently introduced a new high gain antenna for stadiums that does this well.
    3. Limit supported rates, obviously the higher the data rate the less sensitive the receiver is and the smaller the cell size becomes.
    4. Enable 5 GHz (that adds far more channels for data throughput)
    5. Limit the number of SSIDs in use as each requires a separate beacon (adding to RF utilization)
    6. Co-locating access points with non-overlapping channels
There are some challenges, for example; many dual -band clients prefer to connect to 2.4 GHz, and 2.4 GHz is more likely to be busier and subject to interference, so we also enable Cisco "Band-Select" which basically "nudges" those clients off 2.4 GHz and pushes them to 5 GHz so as to free up the 2.4 GHz band when we can determine the client has 5 GHz capability.
So how is this done? well, we do this by listening to the clients and if we detect that the client is sending out probe requests on both bands we know the client can use 5 GHz so we essentially make the 5 GHz band "appear more attractive" to that client.
Note: Client load balancing and Band select are features in the Cisco Unified controller menu.
Also enabling client link (intelligent beam forming) helps direct the signal directly at the client and reduces same channel interference.

That depends on what you define as "good quality".
Honestly I'm not able to find that model on panasonic's website to find out if it is 720p or 1080p, I suspect it's only 720p.

  • Audigy and EAX 4

Im trying to find this file AUD_EAX4DRV_0303.exe
Im using an original audgiy card and the driver download page says I need this driver to install the updates to the control panel and mixer. Ive tried installing them with just the driver listed but I get an error saying im missing a the driver. So my question is where do I get this file?Message Edited by gomjabar on 0-02-2006 04:48 AM

Yep, I'm running Windows XP Professional SP2. I'm also running the ZSN in Advanced Mode, Maximum setting (using the latest Feature Mode Selection Utility, which replaces the Performance Utility). I can also alleviate the sound effects issue in Uru by switching the ZSN to Standard Performance, but I lose any hardware acceleration and EAX 4.0 effects. More evidence that EAX 4.0 could be at fault.
When I was using the Performance Utility to analyze my system, it would always suggest Standard Performance, which didn't make much sense to me, given my laptop is a P4 3GHz with GB of DDR RAM.

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

  • "Java and BAPI Technology for SAP" by by Ken Kroes - Is this book useful?

    Howdy partners,
I've got a 'book' called "Java and BAPI Technology for SAP" by by Ken Kroes, Anil Thakur, Gareth M. deBruyn, Robert Lyfareff.
Now, does anyone know if the info in this book is still relevant to the modern SAP world? I mean its still talking about ITS and stuff like that?
    Any input will be appreciated.

With the blue cover? I have one with the something similar title, but it's quite out of date. There was lot of improvement on the Java side.
So I would prefer something newer from SAP-PRESS. Check the SAP-PRESS site.
BTW I don't consider ITS as an old technology...it was just integrated recently into WAS 640 to make it more powerful. This is the only available technology, which converts classic Dynpro to Webpage dynamically.

  • Does Your Website Leverage SPACE ? ; Science, Play, Art, Creativity, and Exploration

I’m an admitted museum junkie. I can walk the halls of any art, history, or science museum for hours. I love to learn and museums provide an opportunity to engage with things greater than me. I want to pass this love of learning on to my kids so we visit museums when we can. They love going to the Cincinnati Children’s Museum because they can interact with the exhibits. They have a dedicated Kids’ SPACE; Science, Play, Art, Creativity, and Exploration.
In many ways business websites also act as a virtual museum of sorts. They house information, some that mirrors relics, and are meant to serve the purpose of education. The problem is companies don’t create sites that engage.
People visit your website because they’re seeking information. But people choose to stay on a website because they discover there’s more to learn. Adults, like kids, are naturally curious. Anything developed for a child, be it a toy, show, or establishment, is designed to harness that creativity. Why is it we assume adults are myopic when approaching self-education? Why is a company’s central information repository, a website, designed without imagination, foresight, or intellectual insight? It’s as if we want people to leave our site. “Here’s the information you were looking for, now calls us if you’re interested in learning more”. It doesn’t work that way. We’ve all seen the stats, Gartner states that 70% of the buying process occurs before a sales rep is engaged. Don’t you want your website to compensate during 70% of that journey?

marilyncox BOOM! I particularly love this: "The information recall rate of individuals is 10%. Scientists have discovered that by engaging multiple senses that recall rate increases to 60%. Interactive sites are successful because they engage the senses; not just the traditional sight, feel, hear, taste, and smell. Interactive sites allow the visitors to build, create, contribute, learn, and stretch their imagination." I have been using the phrase "create an experience" more and more - from the website and beyond - to coach our teams to focus more on interactive content as appropriate for prospects and customers. And not interactivity for the sake of interactivity - but in a way that is integrated and measurable. Double BOOM!
And if not necessarily interactive, to focus on the fact that the content needs to be discovered and distributed - leaning hard on keywords and snackables - to really drive the engagement and conversion during the 67% of the buyers journey that is now wholly digital, per SiriusDecisions.
I am excited to see what my teams will be able to do in our "upcoming in early 2015" next iteration of our website (which includes a more clearly defined content marketing strategy). BTW, I'm so stealing your "SPACE" acronym - I'm recommending it as our project "code name." My teams laugh when I talk about it, but seriously, a project of this magnitude just screams "code name" to me. LOL.
