Creative and iTu

Greetings.
Regardless of what everyone here seems to think, I think iTunes rock and I would really like to use my Zen Touch and my wifes MuVo Micro N200 with this excellent audio player. Now, I am not talking about music bought in ITMS, but music from my CDs, so what I want is not a firmware upgrade (for AAC support)... What I am wondering is if anyone knows of any way of transferring music to the aforementioned players from iTunes on a PC (I know for a fact that there are plug-ins for the Mac version of iTunes, but - alas - I am not using a Mac yet)?
Cheers!

Of the media players that I have used, Musicmatch, I Tunes, Media source and most recently Napster. I am not that familiar with windows media player, having used other media players that ripped in MP3 format in the past. I think the the most intuiti've and the one that appears to have the most playback features is I Tunes. I Particularly like the Party Shuffle option. Napster is very good too, for downloading music and is very easy to transfer the downloaded travks to my Zen Touch.
I still use Musicmatch to rip CD's the super tagging option is very good.
My biggest gripe is not being able to play the tracks I downloaded from I Tunes on any player except the I Tunes media player or I Pod, equally those I've downloaded off Napster won't play on I Tunes.
Looks to me that we have a VHS vs Betamax thing starting again.

  • Does Your Website Leverage SPACE ? ; Science, Play, Art, Creativity, and Exploration

I’m an admitted museum junkie. I can walk the halls of any art, history, or science museum for hours. I love to learn and museums provide an opportunity to engage with things greater than me. I want to pass this love of learning on to my kids so we visit museums when we can. They love going to the Cincinnati Children’s Museum because they can interact with the exhibits. They have a dedicated Kids’ SPACE; Science, Play, Art, Creativity, and Exploration.
In many ways business websites also act as a virtual museum of sorts. They house information, some that mirrors relics, and are meant to serve the purpose of education. The problem is companies don’t create sites that engage.
People visit your website because they’re seeking information. But people choose to stay on a website because they discover there’s more to learn. Adults, like kids, are naturally curious. Anything developed for a child, be it a toy, show, or establishment, is designed to harness that creativity. Why is it we assume adults are myopic when approaching self-education? Why is a company’s central information repository, a website, designed without imagination, foresight, or intellectual insight? It’s as if we want people to leave our site. “Here’s the information you were looking for, now calls us if you’re interested in learning more”. It doesn’t work that way. We’ve all seen the stats, Gartner states that 70% of the buying process occurs before a sales rep is engaged. Don’t you want your website to compensate during 70% of that journey?

marilyncox BOOM! I particularly love this: "The information recall rate of individuals is 10%. Scientists have discovered that by engaging multiple senses that recall rate increases to 60%. Interactive sites are successful because they engage the senses; not just the traditional sight, feel, hear, taste, and smell. Interactive sites allow the visitors to build, create, contribute, learn, and stretch their imagination." I have been using the phrase "create an experience" more and more - from the website and beyond - to coach our teams to focus more on interactive content as appropriate for prospects and customers. And not interactivity for the sake of interactivity - but in a way that is integrated and measurable. Double BOOM!
And if not necessarily interactive, to focus on the fact that the content needs to be discovered and distributed - leaning hard on keywords and snackables - to really drive the engagement and conversion during the 67% of the buyers journey that is now wholly digital, per SiriusDecisions.
I am excited to see what my teams will be able to do in our "upcoming in early 2015" next iteration of our website (which includes a more clearly defined content marketing strategy). BTW, I'm so stealing your "SPACE" acronym - I'm recommending it as our project "code name." My teams laugh when I talk about it, but seriously, a project of this magnitude just screams "code name" to me. LOL.

  • Creative and Vista supp

Recently I upgraded (clean install actually) to Windows Vista.
I have a Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic, which I bought about an year ago. I have Creative Inspire T7700 speakers hooked up to the X-Fi.
I'm really frustrated with the Vista support. I should have never upgraded if I knew there is such a lack of support.
Of course I installed the latest drivers, I installed ALCHEMY, Mediasource and etc.
What really disappointed me is that I made a serious downgrade instead of a proper upgrade once I tried adjusting my X-Fi. All my favorite functions were gone:
    1. The Volume Panel icon in the tray is gone.
    2. The new Volume Panel is extremely slow.
    3. The THX Console is not working. (what is the point of having a THX logo on the volume panel if you can't actually calibrate your speakers !) e.g. Clicking on the rear right speaker in the THX console activates the front right speaker (in the volume panel it works correctly). Calibration doesn't work at all. The only thing that works in the console is the Bass Management.
    4. The setting for adjusting DD and DTS output to 7. speakers is now gone.
    5. There is NO DTS Neo plugin for creative MediaSource.
    6. The nice DOLBY Digital / DTS logo that used to appear on the lower right corner when playing such content is gone.
    7. Applying EAX effects requires to restart all the applications currently using the sound card (Otherwise sound just disappears)
    8. No DVD-Audio. I have only album, though this really angers me.
and many others... such as emulation of SPDIF out and etc.. and not to mention all the applications such as Vienna SoundFont Studio, the Karaoke Player... all gone.
When is Creative going to release proper drivers and applications for Vista I mean whats the point in having an $50 X-Fi card when you can do all the things with an ordinary $0 7. sound card It has been more than an year now since Microsoft released Vista. People will start upgrading to Vista, and yes, customers won't be pleased with the so-called "upgrade".
And yes, I have the latest drivers, I have the latest software from Creative, Windows is configured to use 7. Speakers. It was all working fine under XP.
This is NOT the sound card I bought.

  • Creative and nvidia

is it possible to add the nvidia quadro fx5500 card to the mac pro instead of the fx4500?
and another question : is it possible to connect a m-audio card to a creative soundspeakersystem?it's just because i want to have 7.1 instead of 5.1 to edit in soundtrack pro
    imac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.1)

I don't believe so, but I have read conflicting reports.
Here's why I don't think it will work. The MacPro uses EFI instead of a BIOS. All peecee cards rely on the BIOS to interact with the hardware. W/o said bios the card is not going to work.
also if these cards did work, wouldn't you think that Apple would be selling more video cards and we wouldn't need a Mac edition video card any more.

  • Creative and Windows Media Pla

Hi- I'm looking in to getting a MP3 player soon and am currently on bouncing between the iPod 20GB, Creative Zen touch or Zen Micro- I'm mainly concerned with battery life and the sturdiness of the player (and the radio feature on the creatives sounds great too)
My question is regarding using Windows Media Player with the Creative Zens.. I read somewhere that it is compatible with these players, does anyone use this program with your mp3 player? I really like WMP (so much more than iTunes) and would prefer to use that to the other programs Creative offers with its players.

    Duplicate post.

  • Creative and the Trade Descriptions

I bought a Creative Zen Micro about 2 months ago. of the reasons i bought it as opposed to the Ipod was so i could synch my Outlook contacts / calendar with the device.
With the latest firmware for MTP support 2.002 and an XPsp2 machine running outlook 2003 with all the recommended patches from microsoft, the synch doesn't work.
    What say you creative ?
When is a suitable firmware relase coming out for this product that allows it to DO WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN.
I wouldn't be surprised if a class action lawsuit was filed against you for selling goods under false pretences.

Thats not the release that i am running. You said Zen Micro (2..02)
    like i said i am running 2.00.2.
If i do a software autoupdate i am informed that Zen Micro (2..02) is available however

  • Creative and EAX technology

I canno't find any sound cards other then creativ's that support EAX 3 Advenced HD or higher. All Turtle Beach, Fortissmo and other soun cards I found have at most EAX 2.0.
Do you guys know of a sound card that support EAX above 2.0 AND is NOT a creative product?
    Please respond... Thank you

No. Creative has that market cornered. Unless a company were to pay for the EAX licensing for 3-4-5 (EAX). I know it really does blow too. While like the Audigy series it's not healthy to not have competition because it lowers the overall quality and future outlook of PC soundcards as whole ... IMHO. I wish nVIDA had continued Soundstorm technology but they didn't. The most that we could hope for right now would be better implementations of onboard sound (for gaming) though you are still limited to to EAX and 2, but just like the SB Li've 24 bit it's done in software - so there is a huge CPU hit when you enable EAX in games with onboard sound.Message Edited by Wolfen on -0-2005 09:58 AM

  • Creative and Marketing - we need to publici

Why do we not see adds for the Creative players? I see itunes and ipod ads.
There are no blogs adversiting gadgets and gizmos to add to our player.
What do we do? I don't want to beat ipod, I want to atleast compete.
I think I'll start a blog, and gather things to share with fellow creative users.

They are around. I remember seeing ads on the escalators on the London Underground.
There aren't many though, and Creative would be well poised to make some no nonsene type ads about the features on their players.
There are no blogs adversiting gadgets and gizmos to add to our player.
Well there's DAP Review, which covers all Digital Audio Players. There's also Nomadness.net which is Nomad specific.

  • Creative and Drivers Fia

    Hi,
Just thought I would stick a few questions in here to Creative about their drivers.
Basically, I want to know why it is that they continuosly refuse to update drivers for their hardware and give support to their own customer base and fix the problems that their users are reporting to them.
I mean, Auzentech Inc, who make the X-Fi Prelude have had large amounts of driver updates recently, which are provided and coded by the Creative driver development team.
One main point I would like to make, if you look at Auzentech's release notes, you will see:
SW Bug Fixes requested by Auzentech
This clearly shows that Creative are actively developing and fixing problems for them and their customers by request, yet fail to do it for their own customers. Not sure how everyone looks on this, but me, I say help yourself and own customers first before helping anyone elses.
But then again, this is probably a business decision because they probably get money from Auzentech for continued development.
Looks like we all need to License the X-Fi chip, make our own card, then request/expect support.

We appreciate your feedback on the situation, and have created a new thread for all further feedback/comments located here:

  • Creative and app

I read that they settled the lawsuit and creative is gonna make products 4 apple ipods. but my question is will creative still make mp3 players on their own or will they make stuff and players but under apple's name? or r they gonna do both?

I'm not afraid. I find it rather obnoxious that everyone has an ipod. I bet some people don't do research. Of course, some do, and some don't.
Apple acts rather imperialistic and behaves like a cult.
I find them greedy and money hungry.
Not that I would never try out their products. I already have.
BUT, perhaps in the future, I might support them....or not. It all depends what direction they take and how technology evolves in the future.

  • Creative and compatibil

    Hellow,
I got vista 64 bit and an old 20g Zen Touch. As it turns out thats just another way of saying "fek i'm skrewd".
When I followed this neat guide [url="http://www.ehow.com/how_23074_zen-touch-work-windows-vista.html">here[/url] It appears Creative has been very smart at making Vista and Zen players work.
All you need to do is:
    1. Connect your zen to the pc
    2. Install CreativeMediaSource5
But to install CMS5 you need to have your zen connected and recognized.
And to sucessfully connect and regocnize your zen you need to have CMS5 installed.
    So what to do first?
Connect or install connect or install, hmmmm...
Ahrrrrrrg brain bubbles I get from this nonsense.
Thanks Creative for wasting my money and time with your crap products. It all started when the plug connector of my Zen touch turned mono. Then that reminds me of the pci soundcard I still got wich also does NOT work in vista. Oh and not to forget my Zen 4gb wich worked perfectly on xp but now I can't even configure Zencast to download or transfer anything CUZ THERE IS ZERO COMPATIBILITY BETWEEN VISTA AND CREATIVE PRODUCTS.
