Creative Audigy OEM + Genius SW-HF 5.1 5000 = grand problem with subwoo

Hello!
I bought Audigy OEM 2 days ago, connected it to my motherboard and installed provided software. After updating I pluged in my headphones - everything was brilliant. But in the evening I connected my 5. speakers - Genius SW-HF 5. 5000 Home Theater and I can't hear my subwoofer. In mp3, movies or games it's dead, but in speakers configuration I can hear noise from it, like it should be. Everything is connected like it ought to be and like I said software is the newest one from creative website.
I've found similar problem on this forum:
Here it is
I don't wanna any bass redirection because my soobwoofer doesn't sound anyway, only other speakers give more bass.
And here is my question:
Where are drivers which will solve my problem?
The "newest" ones are pretty old (9 Oct 06), didn't you have time to repair them?
You should patch them because me and many other people want to use our sound cards. I googled (Polish Google) for answers and found A LOT of similar cases and NO response from your support group.
What is this??
I've thought about x-fi sound card but will you guarantee me that it will work properly because it costs twice as much? I don't think so.
Oh and by the way, on the Realtek integrated sound card everything is like it should be but the sound quality is worse, so it can work properly.
Sempron 2800+
Gigabyte GA-7N400-L
Audigy OEM
Sapphire Radeon 9600XT
Windows XP with SP2 and every update available?
52 RAM DDR
80GB Samsung HDD
I'm waiting for response from support group, sorry for my English?

    my zen sleek isn't on the playsforsure list yet it says it on the creative website, but if you download all the tracks into a folder and set windows media player to update the library on that folder, and sync it it should work because mine wasn't working at first on the napster program.

    I bought my player the last summer and I have the white screen of death since two months. I have already read the post of the white screen, but I want to know if that is a problem of all player Zen Creative 4gb/8gb/6gb or it happens only to some.
    Please answer my question, im thinking to bring it back, but if it is a problem of all the players, i will not trouble to send it. I really like the player, but with this problem i'm very upset with Creative.

    Some of my friends have been experiencing similar problem with the Zen Creative but that does not necessarily mean there is some problem with the software. You should double check before taking any step.

  • SB Audigy OEM and Vista with SP

    I've just purchased the Audigy OEM with the external SPDIF connection. I have plugged this in to my amp (Marantz 9200) and can get sound using Vista Media Centre and DTS or Dolby sound ok. I'm unable to play any music however via the SPDIF connector. Does anybody know a fix for this? Will music play via media player via optical/coax, or do you have to connect the single pin to stereo output?Thanks in advance.

    Unfortunately if you read the release notes for the Vista compatible driver it tells you not to use it on your particular sound card ;(?http://us.creative.com/support/downl...rtype=&x=2&y=7?Notes:

  • Creative Audigy 2 NX OLD and undercapable drivers are way below industry standa

    Hello All,
    I have tried not to push this, for the past year, but I have really reached the end of my patience. The driver support for the Audigy 2 NX (USB-External) sound card is nearly 'non-exsistant'and it is have a major adverse effect on my gaming.
    It has been more than a year since Creative has taken the time to provide the many owners of the Audigy 2 NX -USB sound card with a driver that is anywhere near the capabilities of the sound chip in our device. We do NOT have support for Open AL, we do not have 'REAL' support for EAX 3 or 4 (I mean a driver that REALLY works on most; Lucasarts, EA, and Valve games), and NO HD 'Dependable' support in games or DVD play back.
    This is a crime, seeing as this card costs JUST as MUCH as the Audigy 2 ZX (that I also own, and bought FIRST for my HP zd8230us... and used until HP Tech support told me to NOT use the PCMCIA card) and yet has Half the features and lass than /4 the driver support... for the same money!! That is right, I said 'Crime', because I have been buying and using ONLY Creative cards for the past years and have never EVER seen Creative turn their backs on a product the way they have done with the Audigy 2 NX.
    Let me be 'Brutally Honest' about the lack of support and 'Expanding Use' of a FINE audio chipset. While Creative has regularlly expanded the features and use of the chipset in the ZS notebook card (added EAX 4.0 support, refined the HD support, and made regular driver updates), they have left the owners of the NX sound card BACK in the 20th Century. There is NO support for; EAX 4.0, Open AL, OR THX for my NX the very same people have gone out of their way to provide ALL of those features and regular updates and expansion of these SAME features in the ZX Notebook card. I have both of these cards, and have used both in my HP Pavilion zd8230us Notebook computer. I have to be clear and precise, the difference in; sound, use, and capabilities of the ZX to the NX is like putting a SB 'Li've' card against and Audigy 4 card. I paid the exact same amount of money for BOTH cards, yet (because my mobo does not support the PCMCIA card) I am left with this 'Black Sheep' of the Creative family, and this has me at the point I am seriously thinking of never buying another Creative product for ANY of my four desktops and one notebook in my entire life.
    I am experiancing problems with the NX card on; Half Life 2 and HL2 - Episode , ANY Lucasarts game (they work sometimes and mostly do NOT), MOST EA Games titles, and Activision games are not much better. In my current notebook hardware, my Audigy 2 NX is the 'Weak Link' in the chain. I have a Pentium 4 HT 650 (3.4Ghz-800 Mhz FSB), ATI X-600 PCIe 28MB video card, 024 MB 533 MHz DDR2 RAM, and XP Professional with Media Center 2005. My Audigy 2 NX is what is keeping this system from reaching it's FULL and AWESOME capabilities in; Gaming, DVD playback, TV HD audio, Media Center On Line services, CD & DVD Audio playback, and every other Audio aspect of my near cutting edge system.
    This is completely unacceptable, and to add insult to injury. When ever I contact Creative support regarding updated drivers, or problems with the current *MORE than year old drivers, I am told "Creative has no plans to update or upgrade the drivers for your sound card". WOW, that is the lowest point in years of purchasing and using Creatives (usually) fine products and services. Why has Creative turned it's back on the awesome sound card/chipset and is there ANYTHING that a lifetime user of Creative products can do to get more and better support for the ONLY product you make that is compatible (as per HP) with my new notebook computer? I am dead tired of this product being the 'Bottleneck' in my system. I am frustrated, to the extreme, at the completely apathetic technical support for a 'same priced' item as the ZX.
    What can a consumer do?
    Terribly Desperate,
    Enzo Matrix

    <SPAN>OK, first; thanks for the link. It is very much appreciated. Next, this is the only card <EM>compatible</EM> with my Pavilion zd8230us (as per HP Senior Support Technicains). I was told that the Audigy 2 zx PCMICA was compatible (BY Creative), only to be told by HP that that card can and will do damage to my notebook. I find it very disturbing that Creative would suggest a product that would damage my computer! Last, the box (for the NX) says that it is 24 bit HD audio 96KHz/02db Signal to noise ratio. As well, it clearly states ON THE FRONT OF THE BOX:
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN><EM>"...EAX ADVANCED HD game effects"</EM> <SPAN>
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>Sorry, but in English (at least <EM>American</EM> English) that means it supports EAX in games, yes? lol So, THEY Are the ones that decided to put that on the FRONT of the box, if it doesn't support it then they should have a class action lawsuit filed against them by EVERY SINGLE person that ever purchased an NX and we should be paid for; purchase price, pain and suffering, and puniti've damages. THEN Creative might learn a lesson. roflol<SPAN>
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>Now on to the <EM>'driver'</EM> isssue. Simple, Alexs3d2, the American consumer expects 'Driver Updates'. Why? Simple, what version of Direct X was standard when the NX came out, and what version are we using now? Microsoft sees fit to improve the API that Creative is making money off of, but Creative does NOT see the responsibility to the consumer to keep UP with the technology that we end users update on a regular basis. Next, I am tired of people dogging ATI <EM>BECAUSE</EM> they have taken on the responsibility to issue monthly driver updates! Granted, Alex, you may well understand 'what' the driver updates ARE better than the average user. However, that does NOT dismiss the BETTER PERFORMANCE that WE experience every single we update or display adapter drivers! Just because slough (on the part of SOME companies) is accepted by a small cross section of the population does not mean that the rest of us should LOWER our expectations? of the company that WE keep in business. Least THEY forget that WE are the reason they ARE in business!!! Driver updates are <EM>GOOD</EM>. Driver updates are what end users EXPECT. Any company that does not want to support a product that is still on store shelves should just pack up and leave. Period. <SPAN>
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>Last, here is a little quote from the back of the NX box. <SPAN>
    <SPAN>
    <EM><SPAN>"USB 2.0 is only supported in Windows XP and REQUIRES ONLINE SOFTWARE update(s) from Microsoft and SOUNDBLASTER.COM..." <SPAN></EM>
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>How the hell am I supposed to accomplish THAT when Creative <EM>screws</EM> me out of what they tell me I require? <SPAN>
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>In closing; this venue is not the only place that I have been sounding off a bout this problem. I have written Creative (SB) Tech support, and they are giving me 'double speak'. I have kept every single email that they have sent back, and cc'd to another email addy for verification. I li've in California, and you can not swing a dead cat without hitting an attorney. I WAS hoping that Creative would be GOOD and RESPONSIBLE partners, but they have forced my hand. I have filed a complaint with the California Department of Consumer Affairs, and am in the process of gathering users for the afore mentioned 'Class Action Lawsuit'. This way, the PEOPLE get to decide WHAT is responsible corporate stewardship, and <EM>IF</EM> Creative is acting in a deliberate way to misrepresent their products, and their capabilities and <EM>IF</EM> they should have to release Drivers just the way they tell us they are going to on the packaging!! <SPAN>
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>EnzoMatrix<SPAN>
    <SPAN>
    <SPAN>P.S. Umm, the whole Nazi thing... that is a bit over the top. I am Jewish, and Creative may have killed my love of their products, but I do not know of anyone that they have actually killed. If you know otherwise, let me know... that info could come in very handy in my class action lawsuit!! roflol
    <SPAN><SPAN>P.P.S. Looking at this forum, I get the impression that I am not the only person that feels screwed by SB and Creative. THAT should make for a VERY favorable jury pool for the lawsuit.

  • Creative Audigy Platinum Installation Help with Pentium 4 3.2GHz HT Enab

    :mansad:
    Dear Fellows,I have recently upgraded to a new Pentium 4 machine. The config is as follows:Pentium 4 3.2eGHz MB cache HT (Hyper-Threading Enabled)Intel Original 865GBF MainboardGB Kingston DDR 400MHz RAM20GB SATA WD HDDSound Blaster Audigy PlatinumATI RADEON 8500 DV 64MBThe problem I am facing is with Audigy Platinum. Once I install the operating system (Win XP) and move to the installation of Creative Audigy Platinum Sound card. All the applications are installed and the system hangs while updating *drivers*. I restarted but it corrupts the whole operating system conflicting with Display Driver, Mainboard driver as well as Windows. CD/DVD Rom also disappear. I then reinstalled operating system again. I would like to request for help and solving this issue and I dont want to get rid of Creative Audigy. I have heard complaints with Hyper-threading technology but I disabled it and the same problem occured. I tried everything e.g. latest drivers from Creative website, BIOS updates, Driver updates etc etc. The problem starts once the drivers are to be updated for Creative Audigy Platinum.Anticipating your response soon.Regards,

    Hi Jeremy,
    I would like to thank you for your kind assistance with my problem.
    Heres the good news, I finally managed to install and run my Creative Audigy Platinum perfectly.
    Credit goes to your assitance and support.
    For your info, I would like you to know what I really did.
    I have an Intel Genuine 865GBF mainboard. I installed clean copy of Windows XP (SP) and downloaded and installed latest Chipset INF utility from Intel website. I guess this utility tells the mainboard what kind of hardware is configured on the board.
    Please note that I did not add any PCI card except the AGP graphics card.
    After finishing Windows XP, I installed the Creative Audigy Card in a different PCI slot. When windows started, it detected the sound card installed.
    I simply ran the driver and programs from the Creative CD and it installed perfectly. I then updated the drivers downloaded from the Sound Blaster site in correct order.
    After finishing with Creative Audigy Platinum installation. I installed other hardware devices, service packs, AV and applications.
    Its the third day and everything is running well.
    I just wrote the steps if someone else faces the same problem, he/she can sort it out the same way.
    Thanks again for your help.
    Best regards,

  • Creative Audigy 2 NX Bit Depth / Sample Rate Prob

    This is my first post to this form
    Down to business: I recently purchased a Creative Audigy 2 NX sound card. I am using it on my laptop (an HP Pavilion zd 7000, which has plenty of power to support the card.) I installed it according to the instructions on the manual, but I have been having some problems with it. I can't seem to set the bit depth and sample rate settings to their proper values.
    The maximum bit depth available from the drop down menu in "Device Control" -> "PCI/USB" tab is 6 bits and the maximum sample rate is 48kHz. I have tried repairing and reinstalling the drivers several times, but it still wont work. The card is connected to my laptop via USB 2.0.
    I looked around in the forms and found out that at least one other person has had the same problem but no solution was posted. If anyone knows of a way to resolve this issue I would appreciate the input!
    Here are my system specs:
    HP Pavilion zd 7000
    Intel Pentium 4 3.06 GHz
    GB Ram
    Windows XP Prof. SP 2
    Thnx.

    Well, I am new to high-end sound cards, and I may be misinterpreting the terminology, but the sound card is supposed to be a 24bit/96kHz card.
    I am under the impression that one should be able to set the output quality of the card to 24bits of depth and a 96kHz sample rate, despite the speaker setting that one may be using, to decode good quality audio streams (say an audio cd or the dolby digital audio of a dvd movie.) I can currently achieve this only on 2. speaker systems (or when i set the speaker setting of the card to 2.) Otherwise the maximum bit depth/sample rate I can set the card output to is a sample rate of 48kHz and a bit depth of 6bits.
    Am I mistaken in thinking that if I am playing a good quality audio stream I should be able to raise the output quality of the card to that which it is advertised and claims to have?
    Thnx

    Read the news (direct quote) ?from ZDNET:July 5th, 2007<!-- by Adrian Kingsley-Hughes -->Creative charging $9.99 for Vista update?<!-- sphereit start -->From the ?that?s gotta be a dumb PR?move? files, Creative Labs decides to try to charge $9.99 for Vista compatible updates for the Audigy range of sound cards.
    No, this isn?t April st and I kid you not. Creative really does think that people are going to pay money for a driver. Understandably, Creative customers are getting emotional over this. Destroying your reputation over $9.99 ? bad move.
    This charging money for drivers game is getting real old. Any company that tries to pull this kind of stunt is underhandedly?double dipping customers. There?s no excuse for it. I for one won?t be buying any more Creative Labs gear until they get the message that providing drivers is a service that customers have already paid for when they bought the hardware in the first place.
    Charging for drivers. Right or wrong?

    Pointless semantic games. It's something that worked on XP, and should work on Vista. Spare the speeches about what was on the box, blah blah blah, it's all Microsoft's fault. Nonsense. It's a question of how a company regards it's customers.
    SS
    Just because a game works in XP does not mean that it <i>has to</i> work in Vista. And this is exactly what ALchemy does; it ?fixes? a problem with games designed for XP or earlier versions of Windows. It has nothing to do with games designed for Vista. Even with ALchemy, there are many games that worked in XP that will never work in Vista.
    I am actually surprised that Creative made ALchemy at all. This is really something that the game companies should have come up with because it is really their products that are being ?fixed?. If a game is made specifically for Vista and the game advertises that it uses EAX effects, then Creative won?t have to provide anything but the basic sound driver for that to work.
    As far as saying that it is ?pointless semantics?, you?re flat out wrong. The games that ALchemy ?fixes? never made a guarantee that they would provide EAX in Windows Vista and all anyone has to do is point to the system specs on the game box and say ?show me where it says Windows Vista?. Like it or not, it was actually very generous of Creative to provide ALchemy, even if they charge a sundry $0 for it.

    Have you checked the volume button? It might be physically stuck. To determine whether a hardware repair is needed, you need to follow these steps:
    1. Try doing a hard reset:
    Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
    After that: test the device to see whether the issue is solved.
    2. If the issue is not solved, you should backup the device and restore it as new.
    In that case, use: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
    NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup.
    If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.
    If you get specific error messages/codes in iTunes when updating/restoring, check this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694 for causes and solutions
    Good luck

  • Creative Audigy 4 Probl

    Hi to all, i tried searching for a similar problem iam currently experiencing but couldn't find any.
    I have just installed a new Creative Audigy 4 sound card to replace my onboard AC'97 sound card. I have disabled the onboard sound card from the Bios, and also uninstalled the relevant drivers. I then installed the sound card in the PCI slot and started installing the drivers, so far so good. After completing the installation, I went to configure the soundcard, equalisers and stuff so as to arrange the sound, but after a few minutes the computer hangs up and gives me a brief Blue screen and restarts immediately after. Could it be the PCI slot ? or could it be a conflict ? I am not sure, any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ed.
    My Specs:
    AMD Athlon XP 2800+
    2 GB RAM (Corsair)
    ATI Radeon X800PRO (256MB)
    Windows XP PRO SP2.
    and hopefully a Creative Audigy 4 soundcard

    I'm having the very same problem. Along with that I can't seem to install the latest driver form the Creative site. I get the stop sign and "You have previously installed drivers without rebooting. Please reboot and try the install again" or something to that effect. I try rebooting and it still does the same thing. I not sure if it's a conflict between my onboard AC97 because I uninstalled the drivers for it. PLEASE help. Very frutrating. Can't play my Flight Sim as I like. Keeps rebooting.

    Speaker configurations are made on Speaker Settings -panel (can be runned from Surround Mixer too).
    Perhaps on Speaker Settings -> digital output only may help when you connect through digital output. There is also utility called CTPanel you may want to check out.

  • Creative Audigy lack of specifics and vaguen

    First of all, let me just say that i've never known a hardware card maker that can be so popular
    while at the same time be some of the most incredibly vague people on the planet. Its absolutely
    amazing. Case example:
    Exhibit A. I'm a computer tech and I come
    across an Audigy card in computer that i'm
    fixing so I need the *correct* drivers.
    Exhibit B. I have an Audigy cd-rom disk from apreviously owned card. I try to install the driverbut they're obviously incorrect but ALAS! the
    cd-rom i'm holding say its for an Audigy.
    Exhibit C. The drivers don't work correctlyso I check my windows Control Panel to seeif theres a way to *specifically" identifyit but the only thing it says is "Sound BlasterAudigy". Lovely. So, which brand could it be?
    Exhibit D. Ok, I need the correct drivers fora *specific* Audigy brand and I go to the Creativewebsite to do a search for Audigy drivers. Whatdo I find? About 0 different Audigy cards. Great.Here we go with the lack of specifics and vagueness....
    Exhibit E. So I proceed to take the card out ofthe computer and look at the model number toidentify it. It says "Soundblaster Audigy Model SB0090" and below that it also says"Audigy SB394 Advanced HD". So i'm thinkinghmmmm could this be an SB0090 or an SB394 butI soon find out its an SB0090 because an SB394is a "Firewire chip", which leads me to....
    Exhibit F. I find a link on the Creative websitethe says "Identify your product" and behold Ifind the SB0090 listed but its only listed as "Sound Blaster Audigy card with gold jack connectorand 394 port"..... so its off to the loony bin again.Again, which brand Creative? Still theres 0 differentbrands and still no way to specifically identify it!
    Exhibit G. Maybe I can tell by looking atthe pictures of the products provided on thewebsite. What do I find? Several differentcards that all look the same! They have the "gold jack connectors and 394 port" aswell as the "Advanced HD".
    So what is it's A "Gamer"? An "LS"? A "Platinum"or could it be an Audigy 2? WAKE UP CREATIVE,YOUR SOOOO VAGUE! Heres proof in summary:
    . Windows Control Panel - "Sound Blaster Audigy"But which brand?
    2. On the card itself - says "Sound Blaster AudigyModel SB0090".... but leads to nowhere becauseCreative's "Identify Your Product" only says:
    3. "gold jack connectors 394" but theresmore than one brand (Firewire) that look the
    same in the pictures!
    And here I am still with an unknown "Audigy" brand and no drivers that I can be sure willcorrectly work. Amazing, because if I were the owner of this card instead of the computertech, i'd probably throw your "Audigy" in the garbage (but i'd probably hit it with a sledgehammer a few times first).Message Edited by ZauR on 2-04-2004 09:55 PM

    ZauR,
    The Audigy downloads are listed by the packages that they came in. This was done to insure that customers that purchased a specific type of card (say an Audigy Gamer) would know that they were going to the right place. The driver pages for all but the LS is the same. So it isn't really a case of being vague, we are actually being rather specific (as a single listing for "Audigy" would be vague). Since there was never a retail package that was just an "Audigy" there is no listing like that.
    For the SB0090, I would suggest going to the Audigy Gamer download page (it is what I use for my SB0090) but really any of the pages except for the LS will work. The Audigy LS is the only Audigy card that requires different drivers and software.

  • Creative audigy 2 (SB0400) + windows 7 x64 compatability issue.

    Hell everyone, I am experiencing an issue with my sound card " the creative audigy 2 (SB0400) model " . I am running running windows 7 x64 bit with all latest security patches and updated drivers where available. However, when using the provided drivers from windows update (WDM), I experience a pause when listening to any type of music files ie: mp3,flac,ogg just to name a few and when playback on several media players, it freezes the sound + mediaplayer for a minute or two, then it will play onward. Also when not playing any media files, I have noticed a crackel pop every so often from my speakers, which can be annoying as well.
    Now, I have uninstalled the drivers provided by windows 7 update via " Start button > Computer > Manage " and selected Device Manager Then Sound , Video and Game Controllers and Right clicking on Creative SB Audigy 2 (wdm)? and choosing uninstall making sure the box is checked to also "Delete the driver software for this device" And did a reboot afterwards. After the reboot I have now downloaded the current driver pack from Creative Labs website SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_00. It has installed successfully other than the fact that it has detected a previous driver (by windows updates), which I had " thought " it was deleted by windows 7. Now after i have installed the SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_00 driver, when going to the speaker icon in the windows 7 tray area and selecting sounds I am annoyed by a message box saying: Windows has detected that audio enhancements for the following device are causing problems: Speakers (Createi've SB Audigy 2 (wdm) )? Would you like to disable the Driver Enhancements for this device ?.
    First of all, Why would I want to disable the " Driver Enhancements " for my SB0400 card when the card is supported for it. Are these issues be fixed, if so, please point me to the rigth direction for the proper support for my device. ?:angry:
    Also, I have been noticeing when playing any type of media file mostly all formats out there the sound will just RANDOMLY stop and freeze.
