Creative - C'mon Already - Step up and fix the FIRMWARE
Just on this page alone I have responded to 5 seperate threads about firmware update problems! Cmon Creative, step up and do the right thing!! If you won't remove the buggy software from your website, at the very least put a warning up there that there is potential to destroy your mp3 player!
I know this is me beating a dead horse, but if we bring enough light to this situation, maybe we will have a better chance to get it resolved (you know, squeaky wheel gets the grease! )
How about if you have tried upgrading your firmware and have had some sort of issue that is out of the norm, please respond to this thread...
Well I for one think it's a valid and frustrating point, and Apple are not noted for their rapid response to feedback so it makes perfect sense to poll the users for their input.
Are you really suggesting a library of 25,000 songs should not just be backed up, but also the individual playlists? Presumably that would require a complete iTunes duplicate.
Apple, once the pinnacle of ergonomic usability, has sadly started down the road of dictatorial arrogance. (I have had a mac since 1988).
I'm peeved because iTunes 8 won't play sound with my muxed music vids. I don't know if they were muxed before or if they got muxed in the upgrade, all I know is they worked then they didn't and there's no solution or explanation readily available from Apple. I got a mac because I'm not technically minded to tinker, I need a tool that just works.
Rant rant rant gibber gibber. Sorry. Feel a little better now thanks. On with the quest to demux. Or something. Anyone?

Did you reinstall using the full three step way (otherwise strange things may linger)?
Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

Two days ago, I loaded Light Room 6. Today I went back to Light Room 5. LR 6 corrupted an entire folder of images, and caused errors on my Raid 5 causing win 7 to run "Chk Dsk" and fix the errors to the operating system. LR 5 has not shut down for the last 5 hours. LR 6 has a serious bug. Anyone else experiencing this problem. Yesterday I was on tech support, waiting for 3 hours, finally they picked up and informed me there department was closing and someone else would call me on Monday. So, I'm working today and all day Sunday to make up for the down time using LR 6.
I don't know if the bug exists in the program or the "Creative Cloud.
Question: Does anyone know why if I bought Light Room 6 [NOT Light Room CC with the monthly rental], I have to enter my serial number if I want to use it?Entering the serial number is probably part of the registration process.
Just out of curiosity, what were you doing on LR6 when the folder of images became corrupted? -
How Do I Help Apple US & Apple Europe Stop Warring With Each Other And Fix The Problem They Created?
PROBLEM
Apple will not replace, as promised, the iPhone 5 (A1429 GSM model) that they gave me in London, UK, with an iPhone 5 (A1429 CDMA model).
BACKGROUND
My iPhone 5 (A1429 CDMA model) was purchased this year in September on an existing Verizon Wireless (VZW) line using an upgrade. The purchase took place in California and the product was picked up using Apple Personal Pickup through the Cerritos Apple Retail Store. I will refer to this phone at my "original" phone.
The original phone was taken into the Apple Store Regent Street in London, England, UK on November 15, 2012. The reason for this visit was that my original phone's camera would not focus.
The Apple Store Regent Street verified there was a hardware problem but was unable to replace the part.
The Apple Store Regent Street had me call the US AppleCare. At first they denied support, but then a supervisor, name can be provided upon request, approved the replacement of my original phone with an iPhone 5 (A1429 GSM model) as a temporary solution until I got back in the US. And approved that the GSM model would be replaced with a CDMA model when I came back to the US. I will refer to the GSM model as the "replacement". They gave me the case number --------.
The Apple Store Regent Street gave me the replacement and took the original. The first replacement did not work for reasons I do not understand. They switched out the replacement several times until they got one that worked on the T-Mobile nano SIM card that I had purchased in England, UK. Please refer to the repair IDs below to track the progression of phones given to me at the Apple Store Regent Street:

On November 19, 2012, I went to France and purchased an Orange nano SIM card. The phone would not activate like the first two repair IDs above.
On November 24, 2012, I went to the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps. The Genius told me that my CDMA phone should not have been replaced with a GSM model in the UK and that this was clearly Apple's fault. They had me call the AppleCare UK.
My issue was escalated to a tier 2 UK AppleCare agent. His contact information can be provided upon request. He gave me the case number -----------.
The UK tier 2 agent became upset when he heard that I was calling from France and that the France Apple Store or France AppleCare were not helping me. He told me that my CDMA phone should not have been replaced with a GSM model in the UK and that this was clearly Apple's fault.
The UK tier 2 agent said he was working with engineers to resolve my problem and would call me back the next day on November 25, 2012.
While at the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps, a Genius switched the phone given to from repair ID ----------- with a new one that worked with the French nano SIM card.
Also, while at the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps, I initiated a call with AppleCare US to get assistance because it seems that AppleCare UK was more upset that France was not addressing the issue rather than helping me. I have email correspondance with the AppleCare US representative.
A Genius at the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps switched the replacement with a new GSM model that worked on the French SIM card but would not work if restored, received a software update, or had the SIM card changed. This is the same temporary solution I received from the Apple Store Regent Street in the UK.
By this point, I had spent between 12-14 hours in Apple Store or on the phone with an AppleCare representative.
Upon arriving in the US, I went to my local Apple Store Brea Mall to have the replacement switched with a CDMA model. They could not support me. He told me that my CDMA phone should not have been replaced with a GSM model in the UK and that this was clearly Apple's fault. My instructions were to call AppleCare US again.
My call with AppleCare US was escalated to a Senior Advisor, name can be provided upon request, and they gave me the case number -----------. After being on the phone with him for over an hour, his instructions were to call the Apple Store Regent Street and tell them to review my latest notes. They were to process a refund for a full retail priced iPhone 5 64BG black onto my credit card so that I could use that money to buy a new iPhone 5 64GB black at the Apple Store Brea Mall to reoslve the problem.
The Apple Store Regent Street did not process my refund. He, name can be provided upon request, told me that the AppleCare US did not do a good job reviewing my case, that they were incapable of getting to the bottom of it like they were, and instructed me to call AppleCare US and tell them to review this case number and this repair id. I asked if he read the notes from the AppleCare US Senior Advisor and he would not confirm nor deny. When I offered to give him the case number he accepted but it seemed like would do no good. Our call was disconnected. When I tried calling back the stores automated system was turned on and I could not get back through.
Now I have the full retail price of an iPhone 5 64GB black CDMA on my credit card and Apple will not process the refund as they said they would.
I've, at this point, spent between 14-16 hours at Apple Stores or on the phone with AppleCare representatives, and still do not have the problem resolved.
SOLUTION
AppleCare US and AppleCare Europe need to resolve their internal family issues without further impacting their customers.
Apple is to process a refund to my credit card for the cost of a full retail priced iPhone 5 64GB black.
DESIRED OUTCOMES
I have an iPhone 5 (A1429 CDMA model) that works in the US on VZW as it did before I received the replacement phone in the UK.
Apple covers the cost of the solution because I did not create the problem.
Apple resolves their internal issue without costing me more time, energy, or money.
This becomes a case study for AppleCare so that future customers are not impacted like I have been by their support system.
Does anyone have recommendations for me?

It sounds like you are constantly needing to restore your phone because it keeps going into recovery mode. Usually putting a device into recovery mode and restoring it can help isolate an issue to your iPhone hardware if an issue persists afterwards. I would try manually putting it into recovery mode and restoring it 1 more time:

I am running Windows 7 Professional. When I try to install Flashplayer, I get to step 3, and then the installaion will not proceed any further. A blank dialog box appears, with Adobe Flash Player Installer in the upper left corner. I have tried to install on Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome. Nothing works. Please help.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Thanks for the question. It sounds like you are trying to setup Two-Step Verification. After logging into http://appleid.apple.com, click "Password & Security". At this time you will probably be prompted to answer your security questions, go ahead and do so. Afterwards, the top section has a "Get started…" link to setup Two-Step Verification:

The only reason I can see for that is it's formatted NTFS, which would likely be Read Only in 10.5.x, if you can reformat it MacOS extended, which would erase everything on it now, then that should work for your purposes. -
Trying to enter recovery hd and at the firmware password screen it freezes
When I try to boot into recovery HD, the computer loads it like normal and then the firmware password utility shows up and my computer just freezes. The mouse and keyboard have no effect, and I have tried several different mouses and keyboards to be sure. Does anyone have a similiar issue and can help me out here?
If you've set a firmware password and can't enter it for whatever reason, all you can do is take the machine to an Apple Store or other authorized service center to have the password removed. Be prepared to show proof of ownership.

Thanks!Understanding crash logs isn’t easy and it’s hard (sometimes impossible) to decipher the cause of the problem. Take a look at Apple’s Crash Reporter document at http://developer.apple.com/technotes/tn2004/tn2123.html The log does reference Airport. Are you using AirPort?
Kernel panics are usually caused by a hardware problem – frequently RAM, a USB device or a Firewire device. When trying to troubleshoot problems, disconnect all external devices except your monitor, kbd & mouse. Do you experience the same problems?

SSIS package causes Step 0, and removes the rest of steps
Hi Guys,
I have a Maintenance Plan to make backups of our databases locally. I then need to move the databases to our NAS (too much network traffic to have it write there directly). I have 7 steps after the creation to do various weekly/monthly checks to see if the
files need to be copied to different retention folders.
However, the 2nd step ran (copy the local files to the network via a For Each Loop in a SSIS package), stopped with no error or log, and deleted all steps after the first.
I recreated the steps, ran just the first to make sure it worked, and everything was ok. I started from step 2, and the same thing happened, no log.
This time I was around to watch it, and it got stuck on Executing: 0 (unknown) for the step. I checked out the files and things look ok.
The issue seems to be that that either a large file (100GB) is gumming it up, or if the the file already exists at the destination (the first time the issue happened, the file did not already exist).
Right now it is going through and copying all the files and folders just fine, but now I am extremely nervous about the procedure and not sure how to prevent the steps from disappearing again.
I was initially going to use command line commands to do the work, but SSIS seemed like the better solution.
Any thoughts on this?

Moving 100 Gb files is best done with RoboCopy IMO.
But such limits (to store backups) do not make sense for being so small.

Why won't apple acknowledge and fix the IOS 5 update encryption bug?
When updating to IOS5 and saving a backup, if you intentionally do not encrypt the backup, the software will do it for you against your will without letting you know. The source for the assigned against your will and knowledge password for that backup isn't clear and many people never figure out what it is. Clearly a lot of people on line and multiple people I know have come across this bug in updating their IOS to version 5 and many have lost everything on their IPADs and IPhones. Losing one's backup of irreplaceable pictures and files etc.... is just a major loss and I spent hours on the phone with a service agent who verified it is a frequent problem but that there is no acknowledgement of it.
Why is this still happening and why isn't the bug fixed considering that it is so devastating for users who can't figure out the assigned password. It happened to me months ago, it happened to my brother 2 weeks ago and to the wife of an office mate of mine yesterday. Trying every password ever known to you doesn't always work.
I'm seriously for the first time in my entire 20 years of exclusively owning Apple computer products thinking about switching to an Android instead. Apple has failed me here and without effort to curb the problem with a fix, (this has been posted previously on this support community website by others for months now) it seems endemic of front door salesmanship without concern for the customer coming back for help with the product. I give Apple it's first F.
