Creative Cloud (app) crashes on startup after update
After the last update (which probably went wrong), creative cloud application (the menubar app) crashes on startup.
I've tried uninstalling (uninstaller stalls) and running Creative Cloud Cleanup Tool but to no avail.
Below I've included an excerpt of the crash report from the log (I could post the complete log report but that seems to cause troubles posting).
Anybody have any suggestions?

LR develop module disabled/Creative Cloud App crashing
Hello everyone. The Lightroom develop module will is not functioning for me. It only give me the message "The develop module is disabled. Please restart Lightroom to sign into creative cloud." When I try and sign into my Creative Cloud app, it will not open. I've uninstalled and reinstalled CC twice and tired restarting Lightroom with no resolution. I'm using LR 5.7.1 on a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.10.2 . I've purchased my licenses outright to LR5 and CS5 and so do not have a creative cloud membership, and am not currently planning to upgrade. I downloaded the creative cloud app in order to download Lightroom and PS when I purchased a new computer. Any help appreciated, thanks in advance!
If you don't have a creative cloud subscription, then you can't download Lightroom from the creative cloud and install it! It doesn't work that way. In order for that installation of Lightroom to function properly you must have a currently paid creative cloud subscription. Otherwise, the develop module WILL be disabled. You must remove that installation of Lightroom from your computer and download and install from this website:
Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1
This is the trial version of the latest release for the Mac. After you install it and run the program, a trial screen will appear. One of the options is to indicate that you have a serial number. Choose that option, and you will be guided through the process of entering your serial number. In the future, do not try to download and use anything from the creative cloud unless you decide you are going to subscribe.
And you cannot use Photoshop from the creative cloud either. You have a license for CS5, which is old software that is not supported by Adobe anymore. Photoshop from the creative cloud is Photoshop CC, at least two major upgrades since what you are licensed to use. You will have to use the installation disk for Photoshop CS5. Then you can update the Camera Raw through the help menu. You will be able to update to Camera Raw 6.7. But that is as far as you can go. The creative cloud is totally irrelevant as far as you are concerned. Forget about it. -
Creative Cloud apps crashing after finishing the survey.
I've updated every app and have restarted CC and my computer several times but no luck. The apps open but everytime I finish the survey, they crash a few seconds later. Does anyone know what would fix this?
Hi Stoneman,
Could you please upload the crash info here or send them to my email [email protected]? You can find the PS/AI/ID crash log files in ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/, type "chflags nohidden ~/Library" in terminal if the folder is hidden.
Thanks.

Adobe Creative Cloud installer (/Applications/Utilities/Adobe Creative Cloud/ACC/Creative Cloud.app) crashes immediately on launch, so I can't install CC on a new iMac 5K running Yosemite. Launching the app to fetch the rest of the CC programs crashes, saying "Creative Cloud quit unexpectedly."
I have an old CS3 Photoshop install, a newish Lightroom install, and now I need to install Premiere from my work Adobe ID. I think this may be the crux of the problem. If the CC Cleaner app worked as advertised, I could wipe the old Photoshop install and just use the new CC Photoshop and everything would be cool, but the CC Cleaner doesn't work. It looks like it works, but the problem persists. In fact, Adobe support told me via twitter that Adobe's installer basically doesn't work on migrated Macs (new Macs where old data has been set up from backups). They called it an OS conflict, but I pointed out that everything else works, so it's pretty much Adobe's conflict.
It seems like a permissions issue, and Adobe thinks it's a permissions issue blocking the ACC applet, yet I've repaired HD permissions and did Disk Repair, run Adobe's CC Cleaner multiple times, attempted to install CC in another admin account on the machine, attempted to install CC from Root, and repeated all this after reinstalling OS X via rebooting with Cmd+R, always end with the same result: Creative Cloud quit unexpectedly.
They also suggested I install on a clean disk, one that hasn't been migrated. To do that, I supposed I have to bring it back to Apple, since I have neither a Yosemite install disc, nor a drive to put one in.
I found an article called "CC applications close immediately after launch" but this tip doesn't work because Creative Cloud applet is the app I can't launch.
https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/cc-applications-crash-immediately-launch.html
They sound like they're trying to help, but the responses sound like utter BS, and, like the support website, i'm going around in circles. I'm sure I'm not the only person who's had this problem, right? RIGHT?? I'm sure the answer is buried here someplace...
Thanks in advance! There doesn't seem to be an uninstaller for CS3, and I've tried the CC Cleaner tool several times. It doesn't work and it is not correctly documented anywhere. For example, there is no log file at "/Users/[user name]/Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.log" as one of the Adobe pages states. For example, there is no log file at "/Users/[user name]/Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.log" so I can't find any success or error states of the tool.
There is a log file at "/Users/[me]/Library/Logs/ACC.log." Would there be anything in there that could shine light on install issues vs. uninstall issues?
Regardless, running Cleaner and then attempting to install ACC repeatedly leads to the error "Creative Cloud quit unexpectedly" upon launching it or rebooting (which launches it automatically). I've been trying various things for weeks to no avail yet. -

Any solution ?Hi Harvester,
I've been having this issue for a while, and I FINALLY got it to work. For what it's worth, here's what I did.
I was trying to send files from my laptop to my desktop and for some reason i saw that my desktop couldn't find my laptop. I went to the Sharing settings and saw that under my "Computer Name" there was nothing there. This may have happened due to my upgrade to Mavericks. Once I placed filled that info in, and restarted my laptop. Lo and behold, Creative Cloud and Growl started working side by side again
This may not be your issue, but I thought I'd pass it along. -
Does the Creative Cloud app on Mac have to launch at login to check for updates?
I don't really care to have the Creative Cloud app on my Mac running all the time. I don't use any of the features for it other than to update apps.
If I UNcheck "Launch at login"....will I still get notified of updates?
-KevinI certainly didn't have the Application Manager running all the time in CS6. Adobe must have had a background process checking for updates because in CS6 where there was an update, I would get the update icon in my menubar.
What I'm wondering now is.....does CC have a similar process that will notify me of updates? I don't want to have to manually launch the Creative Coud app just to check.

Hi, I'm new on the forum. I decided to try this since Adobe phone support has been abysmal. I purchased Adobe Creative Cloud, installed and registered it on Feb. 25 2013. Since then my computer crashed and I lost the programs and the link to download. I still have the serial # and the product shows up in my account under Registered Products. How can I get a download link?
Any help appreciated,

My Creative Cloud App won't launch
My Creative Cloud App won't launch I'm seeing other posts of the same problem that are unanswered. Is there an issue with cloud today?
I'm having a similar problem. CC is greyed out and has no content when selected, meaning I have no access to my type kit font library. I've uninstalled CC and reinstalled CC. I've followed another course of action which is to trash the opm.db file (username > Library > Application Support > Adobe > OOBE > opm.db) which was advised from another forum, followed by a reinstall again. No joy... any help would be much appreciated

Hi,
I am trying to launch creative cloud apps on 10.7.3 lion imac, but it keeps asking me to license the software, which I have already done. It even shows that subscription is active, but for some reason it keeps taking me back to the trial expired screen. I have already tried uninstallling everything and reinstalling, but that has not solved the issue. Creative Cloud seem to work just fine on my 10.6.8 macbook, but would not work on 10.7.3 iMac. Please help!!! I am so frustrated. I am paying for this and can't even launch an app. I am in the second month of this subscription. First month, everything appeared to be a trial and now it has expired. Now, when I try to license the software, it activates it for me, but it never launces the app. It takes me back to the trial screen. What should I do???I hit this same problem. The problem wasn't on my machine: No amount of tweaking locally would fix it, no amount of removing the apps, cleaning, and reinstalling fresh. The problem was on Adobe's servers, where my account had been tagged as being a trial rather than a paying subscription.
The experience was tremdously frustrating, as most of the techs were worthless and wouldn't read the notes on what came before but simply threw out a random, inapplicable bugfix to try before handing it off to the next tech who would repeat the process. And there was no channel to get past them. Each time they'd tell me they were escalating the case, which became obvious as being a lie after a few weeks. No company has that many tiers of tech support. I was locked out of Illustrator for more than a month, waiting for late replies and meaningless "fixes".
Eventually my case landed at the desk of an agent who actually cared and kept looking until she found the answer. Thank you, Sarika Behal. -
