Creative cloud? Can I just buy Lightroom without renting software?

Looking for prices but all that I found is creative cloud.

    Sorry, maybe I don't understand, but why do you feel compelled to subscribe to CC if you already have a permanent Lightroom 5 licence?
    For the SmugMug plugin, a simple Google search ("smugmug lightroom plugin") gives this link to download the plugin:  http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/121321

    Hi,
    I have a few questions and would love to be able to speak to someone in person at Adobe about this.
    I am new to Creative Cloud and would only like to use InDesign. Can I just sign up to use InDesign? If so, how do I do this?
    If I wanted to add Photoshop later, can I add this on? How much would that cost?
    I have two computers one home laptop and one desktop in my studio - do I have to buy two versions, one for each or can I use the same version on both?

  • Creative Cloud desktop application just sits there without loading -what do you do to get it going?

    Photoshop and Lightroom will not load, because the Creative Cloud desktop app will not load on my Mac with the latest operating system, OS X 10.9. Any suggestions?

    I have creative cloud and would like the try LR 5 beta but it is not a download option thru cloud.  Can I download the beta and then the full version once it is available thru Cloud?

    You can download the beta from labs.adobe.com. It will not be available for download from the Creative Cloud until final release.

    You can right click the tab and choose "Close Tab" to close a tab.
    Some menu entries are hidden by default and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu.
    You can see the difference if you use Alt+F or Alt+B to open the "File" and "Bookmarks" menu and compare that to what you see if you use the mouse to open the menu after you have made the menu bar visible by pressing Alt or by pressing F10.
    Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.

    What happened yesterday may have been caused by the SOPA protest action that was joined by a lot of sites yesterday and such an action won't happen that often.

    Same problem for me. Creative cloud quit on opening. Can't do anything. Just subscribe to it. I'm on e Macbook Pro i7, OS 10.10.1 Yosemite.
    On my MacMini (also with 10.10.1) everything is OK.

  • The application "Creative Cloud" can't be opened -1701

    Ran into an odd issue, the creative cloud desktop never initialized, it tried to but was never able to connect, (not an internet issue at all, just some kind of installation issue)
    So the message "the application "Creative Cloud" can't be opened -1701" when you try to open the application.
    Tried to uninstall, "unable to shutdown Creative Cloud Desktop. Quit Creative Cloud desktop and try again"
    (the application does not appear to be running because it was never fully installed)
    Attempted force quit, application does not appear in menu dialog.
    Ran activity monitor cc shows as not responding, successful force quit.
    Ran the app again, this is all it does, never loads.
    Any thoughts suggestions, I have a hammer, drill and play dough...

    Thanks for your reply, I quit the process for the adobe command, then I was able to uninstall, trying a new download now, here is the interesting thing.

    Looks like it hung itself, (Mail.app, I think is probably the issue, it suspends programs, so if adobe did not listen for that hook then it would not be able to resume, solution, quit mail.app
    Since you have to authorize the installer I would think they could look for mail.app and ask to shut it down.

    I am trying to change accounts for my creative cloud - so i am trying to uninstall it and then download again - is there a better way?  right now i cannot even get it to open, i get the error message "application creative cloud can't be opened -1712" can anyone help?  i just want to put my new account on my computer and take the old account off.

    Are you getting error -1712 MAC?
    If yes then open Activity Monitor from Applications/Utilities.
    Then Quit Creative Cloud process.
    Then try to launch.
    If it is not working, then restarting computer once might fix the issue.
