Creative Cloud Desktop app won't install error 207; Adobe server?

Is there a problem with some of Adobe.com servers? My employer just purchased a CC subscription for my work Mac, and the CC Desktop App won't install. I've restarted my Mac, quit all Adobe products, redownloaded the DMG file (creativecloudinstaller.dmg), and checked to make sure my firewall is off. But I still get an error message #207. My DNS servers are set to the same ones that other Macs in my group are set to, and they have CC on their Macs.
I don't know if it's related, but I can't load "adobe.com" in my browser, either. All other webpages are fine, including (obviously) this forum.
I am using OS 10.8.5, connected via Ethernet, and my browser is Chrome.

Thank you for your help, Ned. I also called Adobe help via phone, and he confirmed that my company's server needed to whitelist several Adobe sites. The company had revised their servers not long ago, and evidently did not transfer their old whitelists (which is why my coworkers had previously been able to access Creative Cloud). The phone support person emailed me a helpful list that I could forward to our company's tech support center—but the link you supplied in your response was also perfectly relevant.

  • Why can't I launch my Creative Cloud Desktop App? (I get Error -1712)

I have the Creative Cloud Desktop app downloaded and installed on my iMac (Early 2009/Mavericks OS). When I try to open it I get error -1712. Up until today I have been able to launch it. I cleared out my caches completely today so am wondering if that has something to do with it (cookies?). I can launch other Creative Cloud Apps such as InDesign Photoshop and Illustrator. I am having font sync issues with TypeKit and InDesign as well--typekit says my fonts are synced, InDesign says they are not. Help!

You might try restarting your computer and then attempt downloading Creative Cloud again. In case you still face this issue please share the screenshot.
    Thanks,

  • The 'Apps' tab in my Creative Cloud Desktop app shows a Download Error

I have tried uninstalling, downloading, and reinstalling Creative Cloud Desktop and continue to get the Download Error prompt.  It either shows the Download Error prompt or it continues to just think and think and think.  All the other tabs work normally. I've also signed out and signed in of my CC account multiple times . . . with the same outcome.
All of this started after I had updated all the available updates . . . I was also looking to install Lightroom CC.

You may try providing full permissions to Adobe folders under ~/library/Application Support and /library/Application Support.
Then launch Creative Cloud app and try loading Apps list
    Still same ?
    Try below steps :
    1)
Launch Activity Monitor and "Force Quit" all the process related to Adobe like Creative Cloud, CoreSync, AAMupdater, AAMupdater notifier, Adobe Crash demon from Activity monitor.
    2)
Click on the Finder and look for the options listed next to Apple Icon located at the top left corner of the Desktop screen and click on "Go" menu button and select "Utilities" option.
    (Applications>Utiliites)
Locate Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Application Manager folder under Utilities window and trash both folders.
    3)
Trash Adobe Creative Cloud from Applications well.
    4)
    1) Right click on Finder icon and  select "Go-ToFolder " option.
    2) You will get a text box, type-in below command and then hit 'Return' key.( Do not miss ~ symbol)
    ~/library
    3)Then navigate to Application Support>Adobe.
Open Adobe folder and trash folders named AAMUpdater and OOBE.
    5)
    1) Right click on Finder icon and  select "Go-To" Folder option.
    2) You will get a text box, type-in below command and then hit 'Return' key.
    /library
    3)Then navigate to Application Support>Adobe.
Open Adobe folder and trash folders named AAMUpdater ,Adobe Application Manager and OOBE.
    6)
Click on the below link and download & run Adobe Cleaner tool :
Select the option "Adobe Application Manager for Mac OS X 10.6" and then click on "Clean up Selected" .

  • Creative Cloud desktop app won't sync with CS6 applications

I am running a Windows 7 64bit machine. I had been running CS6 and CC, but had developed a wide range of problems. With the assistance of Adobe technical support I removed all Adobe software from my pc.
My plan was to do a clean install of CS6, apply all of the updates, and then decide if I wanted to continue with the full CC subscription before installing any CC software. The initial install went fine, as did a whole bunch of upgrades. Along the way Adobe upgraded the Adobe Application Manager to the desktop Creative Cloud app.
Within Creative Cloud it showed an update to Photoshop CS6 (something to do with a Creative Cloud version 13.1.2). So I clicked on update and got an error message and the advice to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop CS6. I followed the advice. I then started Photoshop CS6 and selected the Help -> Updates option. It launched the Adobe Application Manager and I was able to install the update. So now I think everything is good with CS6 installed and up to date, and no CC software has been installed aside from the desktop app.
BUT when I run the Creative Cloud desktop app it still show that there is an update for Photoshop CS6! Clicking on the update button generates a message that the update failed due to a download error.
So my problem is how do I get the CC app in sync with my actual CS6 applications?
My second question is do I need to uninstall AAM to preclude this happening in the future (and if so, how)?

Then it would appear the updates have been applied successfully.  You may want to try implementing solution 2 of CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html.

  • Creative cloud desktop app show APPD download error

Creative Cloud desktop app show APPS 'download error' - gives the option to reload applications or contact customer service
    Reload doesn't work
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app - same error
Trouble began after I attempted to download a Bridge update which wouldn't complete

Spent 2.5 hours on support chat and screen sharing with adobe support today, and after many uninstalls, CC clean ups etc, they could not get it working.
Like you, it has always worked until today.
The only thing we could get to work was to login to os x as root user and run Creative cloud from there.
It's a PITA, but I am used to it because my desktop CC installer has been broken since last year, so I now have two computers with broken CC installers.
OS X Mavericks: Enable and disable the root user
    good luck

  • The Creative Cloud Desktop App won't download

I have the Adobe Application Manager which is where I 'installed' my programs (only Illustrator and Photoshop) at this stage. I want the 'creative cloud desktop app' as I need to access fonts to use in Illustrator. When I click on the link where I download it, it just takes me to the Application Manager again. Is creative cloud meant to be one of the apps in the application manager? Have tried to troubleshoot but cannot figure it out

  • Creative cloud desktop app won't let me sign in

The Creative Cloud desktop app hasn't worked for at least a week now on my Windows 8.1/x64 machine.  I've been trying to get Adobe Muse, but until tonight, the app only showed the creative cloud banner and a white screen.  I uninstalled and reinstalled it twice without success.  PhotoshopCC works and appears to be signed in, and I was able to sign into the website but if I try to download Muse, it just brings up the blank Creative Cloud application.
So I signed out of Photoshop and wasn't able to sign in again -- it said my password was invalid.  So I requested the password change email, got that, followed the instructions, and it said my link had timed out and to request the password change link again.  So I did that and this time I was able to change my password.  The Creative Cloud app is still all white.
So I signed back in using PhotoshopCC and that finally worked.  I also signed into the website.  I killed the Creative Cloud app and restarted it.  This time, it thought for a bit and offered me a login.  But whenever I log in, it immediately says
You've been signed out.  Please sign in to continue.
    Endless loop.
What gives?  I see a lot of complaints and a banner on one page that says "service has been restored".  It clearly hasn't.
Any ideas?  Is this still an Adobe glitch?  I sure hope Adobe offers a service credit for this frustration and lack of ability to work.

I've been banging my head on a hard surface way too much today.
I don't need to call tech support, just to start banging my head all over again.
I can honestly tell you that Tech Support does not want to hear from me right now... I'm pissed, frustrated and ready to yell at somebody over the phone about my bad day that Adobe created for me.

  • Creative Cloud desktop app won't sync or recognise apps

While running OSX 10.6.8 I installed CC apps. But CC desktop app needed newer OS. So I upgraded to 10.8.4 and installed CC desktop app. It prompts me to update my CS6 software (and I can't make these prompts go away) and tells me I have no apps installed. Also, file sync is non-existant and I have no "Creative Cloud Files" folder. I need to be able to sync because I have another Mac at home that I do work on. What to do?

    HI Steve633
Do you happen to have the older Adobe Application Manager still installed? If so, then i would suggest that you uninstall the Adobe Application manager.
I would suggest to perform the steps in Solution 1 & 2 of this help doc.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html
Then if you have not updated to the new Creative Cloud Application manager version Version 1.1.2.232 released on 9/4/2013 Then you can uninstall the older version from your system and click here to download the udpated software. https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud
Then you should have the option for the Typekit font syncing. You can sign up for the early access to the Typkit fonts here if you have not done this already. http://blogs.adobe.com/creativecloud/file-and-typekit-font-sync-rolling-out/
Let me know if this works for you
    Thanks

  • Creative Cloud desktop app won't launch

I have downloaded the CC desktop app from the Adobe website and everything seems to install without a problem. However, when I double-click to launch the app or try to load it from the start menu the egg-timer appears for a little while but nothing loads.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop App will not install on Mac

Downloaded latest version on CC Desktop App from download center. Opened the .dmg file, double clicked on icon to install, said ok when Mac warned that this was an app downloaded from internet, entered my computer password when prompted, installer started and then stopped 3 seconds later. Actually have to restart computer to remove that stalled dialog box from screen (can't "cancel" or force quit or simply hit the red, close button). Now, when I open an app like inDesign, I get a "Your application install seems to be damaged, Please reinstall the application." I would be happy to reinstall but I can't because the desktop app itself won't install. Any clues out there?

  • I can't use the product because the creative cloud desktop app will not install .

Windows 8.1. I was able to download light room, but at the creative website, when I click on a download nothing happens.  I was able to get the .exe down load file for creative clouds.. It seems to download and install with out issues until the very end it states" something happened", and a link to support appears.  So, I've put in most of the time tonight to get it fixed and there is no support. I'm tempted to give it up., or, if I can uninstall all remnants of adobe I bet it would install fine.  Is there an app that does a total adobe un install for remnants that cause this?  My fire wall and permissions are all checked .  went through the whole double check of my account.  My password was not stolen etc.
