Creative Cloud desktop keeps trying to reinstall updates

Just over the last week or so, Creative Cloud desktop keeps trying to reinstall the same updates for Photoshop CC, Photoshop 6 and Bridge CC over and over again. As we do not have a fast broadband connection, this blocks the internet for everyone else at the same location for about an hour. I am running Bridge 6.0.1.6 and Photoshop CC 14.2.1. I thought I had wholly uninstalled PS6 on the machine in question (Retina MacBook Pro), so I don't understand why CC desktop is trying to update it. Updates have installed for each of the last three days, so I cannot imagine there is another huge update waiting to install again today, as CC desktop shows.
In addition CC destop keeps losing LightRoom 5 from my Apps. I already had a copy of LR5, which came with a Leica Camera but just to make sure it was linked to my CC acount, I reinstalled it via the CC desktop. It was showing as one of my updated apps but this morning has dropped down to showing "install" again, even though the latest version 5.4 is defintiely installed, synched and working.
HELP!!

I guess I'm a little mystified by this reply.  I've reported no problem signing in or out of adobe, nor have I experienced any.
I've been going along with a creative cloud desktop and updates for over a yr now so not sure how my install would suddenly be 'faulty'.  Complete removal and reinstall is something like a days work if you have any related difficulties at all yet it seems to be the most often suggested remedy.
Is there no chance of something that does not require a hefty input of my time getting the tools to work rather than using them, that can be done to remedy what seems to be something like a stuck routine in the install routines?
Any other folks with an idea about this?

  • Creative cloud desktop tool trying to update

    Setup: Running Win7 64bit on Sager NP8760 laptop - cpu: older i7 M820 1.73 ghz - 8GB ram
I get a notice from the task bar that `creative cloud' has an update.... ok start the process.
I see a dialog that the update is downloading ....
I see a dialog that CC desktop is initializing....
Maybe 15 seconds or so the CC desk top tool pops up
But also a new message that CC has an update......
The process repeats and repeats.  The update warning continues to appear making it impossible to use the CC desktop at all.
Is this happing to others?  Is there a known cure?

  • Received message to reinstall Creative Cloud desktop. Tried 3 times; won't install. Help.

When I restarted my MacBook Pro, a Creative Cloud pop-up displayed on my screen that says " Adobe Creative Cloud is needed to resolve this issue. However, it is missing or damaged. Please download and install a new copy of the Creative Cloud from <link>."
I've download it three times now. Each time after I click install, the progress loads half way and then displays the same message above each time.
I've rebooted my laptop as well; to no avail. Please help. thanks.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop frozen/spinning wheel after updated version April 22,2015; Adobe Application Manager won't sign in either - Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.3

I cannot update any apps via Creative Cloud Desktop Application just prior to nor after the April 2015 updated.
I've tried everything listed in support forums, including:
    uninstallation
removal of the AAMUpdater and OOBE folders in both the user and system libraries
use of the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool
enabling the root user and cleaning everything out there and reinstallation from the root account
and reinstallation of both the Application Manager as well as Creative Cloud Desktop...multiple times.
I've also tried out the instructions to uninstall Java and reinstall the latest version of Java.  I have looked through every iteration of these issues on several support forums, and tried everything that has supposedly "worked" to get Creative Cloud Desktop back up and running.
I am on Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.3.
I also can't sign in via the Application Manager, with message that I am not connected to the internet.  I can launch the versions of Photoshop CC 2014, Illustrator CC 2014, Lightroom 5, etc., but when I try to sign in to any of those applications, the Adobe Application Manager launches, asking for a sign in, and then won't connect...no matter what.  I have tried doing this from the root account with the firewall temporarily disabled as well.  I do not have internet connection problems whatsoever, and all other applications, browsers, etc., can reach all aspects of the internet just fine.
The most peculiar thing: I have another Creative Cloud installation on my MacBook Pro with the same version of Yosemite, and everything is loading and working just fine, with all the latest updates.  Duplicate installation for my laptop, and yet my iMac with the same installation won't work at all.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
I've attempted to repair permissions the usual way, as well as through a complete cleanup via Onyx.  Still no dice.
Creative Cloud Desktop was working previously, for quite a few months (with the occasional "can't connect" and inability to load the App Update panel, which seems to plague the software constantly anyway...but at least it worked intermittently) well after I installed Yosemite.
This is a more recent issue...just a few days ago...before installing the update, as well as after.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop App Manager never self update correctly

I have no idea what is wrong with the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App Manager. I downloaded and installed it ever since I subscribed to Creative Cloud. EVERY TIME when there is an update to the Creative Cloud Desktop App Manager, it will prompt me to update which I did. However, EVERY TIME the update would fail and I would either have a broken CC Desktop App Manager or, started recently, it would prompt me to update again.
The only solution I could find was manually uninstall CC Desktop App Manager and then reinstall it.
Perhaps the CC Desktop App Manager is not needed?

  • What shall we do? creative cloud desktop is seriously broken after update

Following the recent update, creative cloud desktop has become virtually unusable (Mac OSX10.8.4). Endless beachball for Home, Fonts and Files. Reading the Forums, it seems this problem is common and long-standing.
In addition, the recent Dreamweaver update has made Dreamweaver virtually unusable. Also not an uncommon problem, apparently.
The Forums offer a wide range of deep system fixes and workarounds. Frankly Adobe, I'm not interested in spending hours tinkering with your legacy utilities, and managers of this and that. I just want the software that I'm paying for to work as advertised.
I'm a big fan of Adobe products, and I signed up at the beginning of CC. But the current iteration is such a disaster that all users experiencing problems need to put maximum pressure on Adobe to sort things out.
As to Adobe's committment and effectiveness, it's now 36 hours and counting since chat support indicated a 24-96 hour window for a Dreamweaver fix.
    Anyone else?

Thank you Romsinha, but that makes no difference whatsoever. CC desktop remains in the same state: Apps and Behance panels are the only ones without spinning beachball. I tried the same fix for the unresponsive Dreamweaver 13.1.something update and that too made no difference.
I appreciate your quick response and I hope it's indicative of Adobe's commitment to sort this out. Otherwise I fear a big rebellion amongst users. I'll be posting criticism in social media within days if this isn't sorted.
Having said that, good luck to you all for resolving these problems. I've used Adobe products from the beginning and it's a great shame to see the company falling down so badly with a product that they've made such a big noise about.
I repeat for the record what I said in the first post: I really really do not want to be spending hours tinkering with my OS and Adobe's legacy (or not?) files. If I do that troubleshooting I'm doing Adobe's work and not getting paid for it.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop no longer works after update

Ever since the last Creative Cloud Desktop update I can no longer use it - tyo check for updates etc I have to go to individual programs. All I get when I open CC Desktop is a blank rectangle. One can't avoid CC Desktop updates as the only option other than to install them is to quit the program. Any ideas? When are Adobe going to iron out this buggy software - or do they really just not care any more?

  • Creative Cloud Desktop Application Manager Unable to Update  New Version of PS CC

    Windows 7, 64 bit
Received notification of new software for PS CC.  Desktop application manager appears, with a creative cloud note over the desktop app mgr saying:  " A new ver of CC is available.  Update now?"  I click update and launching creative cloud desk appears and disappears.  Note in bottom right tray says update to cc available and it too disappears.
Looked for help on Adobe website and tried changing name of OOBE to OOBE_old.
Tried to download update directly from PS CC.  Went to help; update;   It failed to update completely and left the following error message:
    Adobe CSXS Infrastructure 4
    Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
Now PS CC has lost some of functionality.
    Marc

    Genius.
Worked a treat, although, as Lion hides the User's Library folder I had to launch Terminal to make it visible first. Do you think the fact the Library's now invisible might've been an issue here?
Whatever, all working now and Creative Cloud Files all synced again.
    Thanks very much Jeff.

  • Uninstall Failed, Not listed in Creative Cloud Desktop App list

I keep trying to uninstall ANY and ALL of the Creative Cloud programs downloaded on my computer - Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro - and I keep getting the message in the screen shot I've attached. This goes for the CC AND CC 2014 versions. I have them all. None are appearing in my Creative Cloud deskop app. It is saying I have no apps downloaded. Right now I am in the middle of installing all of the CC 2014 versions (even though the programs panel of my computer (Windows 7 64 bit) says all of these programs are already downloaded, screenshot included below also).
In fact, moments ago - today is 10/24 - my install of InDesign CC 2014 just completed yet my computer says it was installed on 10/6???? Yes, even after a reboot.
Please note: This morning I started by uninstalling the Creative Cloud Desktop App and then reinstalling it successfully.
AND YES, I have already tried the Cleaner Tool 5 times, so please DO NOT suggest that. It does not work. I've also rebooted my system several times.
There is no firewall on my computer. Virus checking is not blocking it either.
Any one else experiencing the same? I need this fixed yesterday. I haven't been able to work in 24 hours.
    Please help!

I'm experiencing this same problem where I can't uninstall or install any CC products, and haven't found a resolution yet. The cleaner tool definitely doesn't help and I keep getting messages that the uninstall failed.

  • How can I tell the Creative Cloud Desktop app that an app no longer exists?

I have installed Muse via the Creative Cloud Desktop app, tried it, didn’t like it AND deinstalled it. (Or so I thought.) However, the Desktop app still shows Muse CC as “up to date”, and lists Muse CC 2014 in “New versions available for installed apps”. How can I get rid of these, when I can’t even find a trace of either one on my Mac (including the deinstaller folder in Utilities)?

Thanks, here are my (mixed) results
Creative Cloud Help | Install, update, or uninstall apps tells me to open /Utilities/Adobe Installers, which doesn’t show a Muse deinstaller, as mentioned above.
CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed lists 4 possible ways:
just the same: use the uninstaller in /Utilities/Adobe Installers, which isn’t there, so obviously useless.
delete opm.db in ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE. This one was new to me, but didn’t help.
Install the latest version of the desktop app. I already had this, but I re-downloaded and re-installed it anyway. No difference.
Uninstall EVERYTHING as described in solution 1 and use the CS/CC CleanerTool. And NOW finally it gets interesting!
Actually I first thought this was bad joke, but it turned out I didn’t even have to uninstall anything else! I just downloaded the CleanerTool (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6), launched it, selected Muse and got prompted if I wanted to try a regular uninstall first. Ok, if that’s still an option, why not? So the CleanerTool launched an application manager that was finally able to uninstall Muse, while leaving everything else in place. Thumbs up!
So until Adobe integrates a proper uninstaller into their CC desktop app, I recommend the CleanerTool!

  • Error Code 50 when installing Creative Cloud desktop update - tried everything and no joy

Folks I've been trying to update my CC desktop app to the latest release and keep getting Error Code 50 at around 47% of the install process.
I've tried every suggestion that has been posted on the Adobe site and forums including:
1 Opening my CC account in the Adobe website and then trying to install - no joy.
2 Running the Adobe cleaner and re-installing CC - no joy.
3 Restarting computer and attempting reinstall - no joy.
4 All of the above with my firewall and anti-virus switched off - no joy.
I'm running Windows 8.1 on a hi-spec machine and I've never had an issue with any update of the CC App or any of the program apps I utilise (Lightroom, Photoshop and Acrobat).
Not really sure what I do now as I've tried everything and really need to keep working (pro photographer) so am having to ditch this for now as it's taking too much time.
    Grateful for any suggestions please.
    Many thanks

Error "Failed to Install" Creative Cloud Desktop application

  • Error Code 201 and 213 when trying to install any Adobe application / Update my Creative Cloud Desktop App. Have tried troubleshooting with Online Chat Agents, no luck.

I have been trying for 2 days now to get this resolved.
Computer hashard wired internet connection, running Windows 7 Home Premium. No other issues with downloading or uploading from any other sites or programs. No other network issues reported on other computers.
It started when I went to install Lightroom through my Creative Cloud. It prompted me to update my Creative Cloud Desktop App, which I went to do and then promptly got Error Code 201. I restarted my Creative Cloud and then skipped the update, hoping it was just an issue with that specific download. I clicked to install Lightroom and the same thing happened, Error code 201.
I restarted my machine, and tried again. Same issue.
I contacted Support. They had me go in and change a bunch of folder names to and add "old" to the end of them and then had me try using the Adobe Cleaner tool, which did not work. He had me go in and change some internet settings, still nothing. Same issues as before, only now with all the renaming of things I cannot even open programs I had previously been able to open like Photoshop.
He instructed me to reinstall the CC Desktop App because the Cleaner tool was not recognizing that it existed anymore (probably something to do with renaming files.. just saying) and now I get the 201 Error when I try to reinstall the CC Desktop App.
I ran out of time and had to stop after being on with them for over an hour.
Today I contact back and was instructed to create a new user account on my computer and try downloading and installing the application in the new user. Same errors. 213 at first, restarted my computer and then got Error Code 201 again.
I am getting really frustrated and really behind on my work. Any information someone could give me would be greatly appreciated. Currently waiting for a chat person to be available again.
Thank you for your time and assistance.

Meowia for Error 201 please see Error downloading Creative Cloud applications - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/error-downloading-cc-apps.html.  Error 213 indicates there was problem locating the update or an incorrect URL.  The troubleshooting steps are still the same as both errors are related to failure of the current network connection.
