Creative Cloud Desktop resize window.

When you rightclick the Creative Cloud Desktop notification icon on Windows 8 and select "Open as window", the window is actually too big.
The very bottom of the window is hidden behind the Task bar at the bottom. I would like to be able to change the height of the window so I can actually scroll down to the bottom item on the "Apps list".
Windows 8, 64bit. 768px height.

The desktop app still has this problem. My monitor is 1920 x 1080, yet the window goes below the taskbar on Windows 8.1. Does Adobe have any fix for this or do they think people will not complain? It is very annoying and like others have mentioned you cannot resize it, the cursor does not change to the resize cursor when hovering over the edge of the window. If this makes the app useless, then why even provide it. Since the original post was back in the middle of 2013 and here it is the beginning of 2015 and Adobe has not even posted on this issue, I don't think they care much about the app. I have done many web searches, but there is no answer yet for this issue. I wish Adobe would fix this

How can the Creative Cloud desktop app manager be resized to allow improved browsing of the market assets? Or is there another way to view the assets available for download from the market place?
At the moment, I can only view two columns with no way to change the preview image size. Is this another Adobe design flaw, or am I missing something?
    Thanks
    Using version 1.8.1.451 Windows 7

Have you checked the settings in the Desktop App preferences?  Are the Account settings correct?  Do you have Launch at Login checked?  Do you have all the updates?  It's up to 1.2.0.248  now.  You can read the version number in Preferences > General > Account.
You can try Signing out and back in again.  Or reinstalling the desktop app.
If none of the above helps, can you tell us what OS and version you are using?

  • Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App Window Blank, Windows 8.1 (Resolved)

    Platform: PC
    OS: Windows 8 (8.1)
I needed to download Flash, so I searched for my Desktop Application Manager.  Opened the Creative Cloud App, and saw this:
I waited for it to "load" but nothing ever loaded.  I clicked the gear to see if I could log out and log back in, but just saw three practically useless options:
[Help, Pin to Notification Area..., Quit]
I waited 2 hours for customer service, and finally got this answer:
Launch the run window. (press: window button, type: "run" OR window button + X, select "Run")
    Type %appdata%
You'll see AppData > Roaming, click AppData in the address bar.
Open Local > Adobe > OOBE
Cut opm.db and paste it to the desktop.
    >>If you receive an error, open the task manager and close ALL Adobe processes, then retry.
Open Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Application
    Log in. (ta-da!)
Delete the file that you cut and pasted to the desktop.
I hope this helps someone avoid the long wait time for customer service to fix this error that seems to have sprouted after some update corrupted the opm.db file.

    1.  quit the app (from the task bar) and relaunch.  if that fails:
    2.  Remove the OPM.db file and relogin into the Creative Cloud desktop application using the Adobe ID tied to your subscription.
Mac OS: You can locate the OPM.db file in the \User\<user name>\Library\Application Support\Adobe\OOBE folder. To access the hidden user Library folder, see Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 Lion.
Windows: You can locate the OPM.db file in the \Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE folder.  To view the hidden AppData folder, see Show hidden files, folders, filename extensions | Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7.

  • The Browse in Bridge option in PS CC 2014 doesn't launch Bridge, but instead opens the window of the Creative Cloud desktop app instead.  This behaviour is on both Mac and Windows.

I recently installed all the of CC 2014 applications and noticed that in Photoshop CC 2014, when I choose the "Browse in Bridge" menu option it doesn't launch Bridge at all.  Instead it opens the Creative Cloud desktop application window instead.  I have the latest version of Bridge installed as well.  If I have Bridge running, the menu option also just opens the CC window and doesn't bring Bridge to the front either.  I have PS installed on both a Mac (10.9.3) and Windows (8.1) and the behaviour is the same.

I only Run windows and my install of CC 2014 works correctly and launches Bridge CC.  Bridge CC was also updated to launch CC 2014 and not CC 14.2.1.
Hers is my Photoshop CC 2014 help>System info...  You may want to compare your windows systems CC 2014 info to it.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop App Update 1.9.1.474 sets sync folder back to default (windows)

    Hi All,
Second time this has happened with an update to Creative Cloud Desktop App (Windows).
Update completes correctly but then notice that file sync is going mad and is re-syncing everything but to the default location (usually user\username\ - in Win 8.1).
Last time this occurred I seemed to get some loss of files.
I've now let it re-sync everything to the default location and then resetting it to the previous location (where files are still present - but is on a different drive).
Surprised to hear Support (Swati) hasn't heard this occur before but thought it worth putting it out there to both warn others and see if its just me!
This was for definite with update 1.9.1.474 of Creative Cloud Desktop (And think it was with the previous mandatory release).
    Cheers,
    M

    Hi Mark,
as you correctly point out with the recent update of the Creative Cloud Desktop app (1.9.1.474) we unfortunately introduced a bug which causes the creation of a new Creative Cloud Files folder, and re-sync of all content. This will only occur the first time the sync application runs after the update. This has caused understandable pain and confusion, for which we truly apologise.
The Creative Cloud Files app contains logic that supports the use of multiple Adobe IDs. This allows you to sign out of one ID and in to another, but keeps your Creative Cloud content separate. When you sign out and change IDs, the app moves the previous Creative Cloud Files folder and it's contents and appends it with the previously signed in ID (User@AdobeID). It then creates a new main folder and starts to sync content of the new ID.
The bug which I mentioned previously occurs, as the app believes an ID switch has taken place and as such, moves the current Creative Cloud Files folder and tries to append the previously signed in ID. As no switch has actually taken place it manifests as (Unknown).  The app then creates a new main folder at syncs down the data.
Essentially what you end up with is a Creative Cloud Files folder with your newly sync'd data and a Creative Cloud Files (Unknown) folder that contains duplicate data.
This occurs once, after the last update completes.
The fix is to simply delete the Creative Cloud Files (Unknown) folder.
I would advise that you ensure you have no pending edits that you may have made offline and that you check the contents of the new, main Creative Cloud Files folder contains everything you expect it to.  If not, check the contents of the Creative Cloud Files (Unknown) folder.
If there is still a discrepancy with your data, you can check on creative.adobe.com to confirm your data is there.
If you have any further problems or questions about this particular issue please email [email protected]

  • "Updating Creative Cloud desktop" hung -- now what?

Was prompted this morning to update Creative Cloud desktop app (Window 7). Accepted and waited, then, when prompted, allowed installer to run as administrator. The green progress bar has been stuck at nearly done for about 30 minutes. I tried shutting down every other obvious running program to no avail. When I started the update, Google Chrome was open along with a couple of local apps.
Can I safely kill the "Adobe Installer" program with Windows Task Manager and then install the desktop app from the new copy of CreativeCloudSup-Up.exe file I downloaded this morning? Do I need to reboot before installing?
    Edited to add the following:
No other Adobe apps (e.g., PS, LR, Reader) were running when I started the update.
    Edit: corrected spelling
    Thanks,
    -- Sam

When I tried to kill the installed via Windows Task Manager, I was told that the program was waiting for input from me but there was no prompt so I killed the process mercilessly. When I tried to uninstall the application, I was told that another copy of it was running somewhere in memory. So I rebooted, uninstalled the app, installed afresh from this morning's "CreativeCloudSet_up.exe" file, logged in to my Adobe account, and all seems well.
Was not thrilled with the experience but, hey, it's working now.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop App refuses log-in for Windows 8

I've been getting this "unknown server error" for 4 days on my windows 8 creative cloud desktop app. I cannot install other CC aps until you resolve this.
-- This has been a problem ever since creative cloud FORCED me to "upgrade" the creative cloud desktop app last weekend.
The Desktop CC app worked fine before the forced upgrade.
The error looks like this on my screen...
    http://s24.postimg.org/rta8cf9dh/retry.png
To solve the problem, you must explain how do I get the upgrade creative cloud app to read my correct log in info?
I'm using windows 8, AND I've already tried the following...
    1. re-installing creative cloud from the creative cloud website (did it 4 times now)
    2. changing the folder "OOBE" to "OOBE_old" (did not work)
    3. I also tried installing this exe: PC: http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/creativesuite/cs/win/ApplicationManager7.0_all.exe , which did not work

    Hi Terranovascreen,
Which OOBE folder have you renamed ? There are 2 which exist.
Please follow the suggestion in the link below which might help :-

  • Failed to install Creative Cloud desktop error code 1 Windows 8.1

I just recently tried to begin a trial of creative cloud in order to get access to photoshop. I really need photoshop for my school because of how powerful it is and the tools is offers. A couple weeks ago I tried to download and install creative cloud for windows 8 64-bit, and the download begins, but once it reaches around 50%, it raises an error message saying "We've encountered the following issues: Creative Cloud desktop failed to install (error code 1)". I was having problems with the internet at the time so I just naturally assumed it was the cause. So I went ahead and gave it a couple of days before I tried again. When I tried again I received the same error message at the same time. I continued to look around for a solution and trying it everyday but I have had absolutely no luck with it, and honestly am getting quite frustrated with it. I have looked everywhere for a solution, I tried the adobe clenup tool, I have checked to make sure I don't have any previous versions of adobe products on my computer, and even tried installing it as an admin in safe mode, and still nothing. I have no idea what to do next, but I know that I have to get ahold of photoshop, one way or another, and it must have the professional tools included in the creative cloud edition. Please tell me there is a simple solution and I have been blind this entire time. If there is no solution, can someone direct me to another software similar to photoshop that has access to the plug-in dDo? (I am in game development and have heard how powerful dDo is and have been dying to use it. I have also been anxious to get photoshop, but it doesn't appear to be possible without the creative cloud desktop app).

  • Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App Doesn't Work Windows 8.1

The Creative Cloud Desktop App doesn't work on my PC running Windows 8.1. As shown below, no apps appear and the settings dropdown does not function with either left or right click. I have tried to uninstall, reinstall, change the name of the OOBE folder, connect directly to my cable modem by passing my router, removing all internet & firewall protection and I am unable to download any CC apps that I do not have on my PC. I have been updating existing apps from the help menus in the apps and have not used the CC app for downloads for a long time so I do not know when the problem started, but it does not work now. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Automatic updates are also not working.
    Thanks,
    Barry

Turning off "Enable Protected Mode" in the Security Tab of Internet Properties allowed the Creative Cloud Desktop App to function properly. I am still looking for a better long term solution that does not put my computer's security at risk.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop install crashes Windows Explorer and hangs

This all started with my inability to activate Adobe Acrobat on my computer after wiping the hard drive and reinstalling the OS.
I had no trouble initially downloading or installing anything from the Adobe Creative Cloud. I ran several apps and they worked (albeit in trial mode for a day or two)
And then the Initial Problem: Trying to Activate Adobe Acrobat failed to get pass the sign-in screen.
It would hang for about 30 minutes and then come back to the error that the computer's clock must be incorrect or an error with the Internet connection. (It's a standard error documented on Adobe's site that says you need to make sure your computer can really get to all of Adobe's activation servers/sites/etc. I double-checked everything in the troubleshooting list to be sure but found nothing wrong with the computer or the ability to get to Adobe's sites.
Exasperated. I went online for tech support. It was definately Level 1 support (had me checking all the stuff I had already spent an hour checking - and had already told him I tested it all).
Anyway, I spent an hour on the chat with Adobe Tech Support going through the usual stuff.
He had me check virus programs, computer clock, conenctions to Adobe sites (like the licensing servers). But nothing ever helped or worked. Then he told me to try going directly to the Adobe Creative Cloud site and trying to download and install the Creative Cloud desktop manager. I did that but it hangs when it launches the manager on the initial window with a black/grey Creative Cloud bar at the top (with the tool drop-down on the right side) but the rest of the window never loads.
After an hour of going in circles I decided it would be better to try again later with someone in second-level support.
In the meantime, I uninstalled ALL Adobe applications. There is no Flash-Player, no Acrobat Reader - nothing from Adobe in my programs list.
I then tried to download and install the Adobe Application Manager. It works up to the point where it launches the Creative Cloud Desktop tools and then hangs at the same place.
There is a Creative Cloud window with the normal black/grey bar at the top - but the rest of the window (where you would normally see and load the apps from) stays empty.
I have rebooted the computer several times to be sure it is a fresh start. That has not helped at all. One additional thing I have noticed in these multiple attempts is that when the Creative Cloud Desktop Manager installer gets about 95% done, it causes Windows Explorer to crash (not Internet Explorer but Windows Explorer). Once Windows Explorer resets, Creative Cloud continues the installation but then opens the window (above) that has nothing but the black/grey header.
I'm struggling for what to do next. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Right now I am paying $50 a month for something I can't even install or use.
For what it's worth, the system is an HP laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate x64. 8GB of RAM and plenty of HDD space. All security updates applied and Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1. I doubt that any of that last line is relevant since I could run all of this with no problem before wiping the hard drive AND it was all running with no problem - other than Activating Acrobat at the start of this whole issue.

    Jim,
You are a lifesaver! I can't think of how many additional hours of frustration you just saved me - but Thank You!!
After posting, I had determined (like you said), that Explorer must be doing that for a reason. I created a new user profile on the system (added a user temporarily) and observed the same behavior of Windows Explorer (stopping/starting) but then continuing to work as it should. At that point I knew the answer was somewhere in the user's profile but I would have had no idea where to look. The opm.db file was indeed the culprit.
I sure do appreciate the excellent help.
