Creative cloud files folder location

many of us creative types have a fast flash-disk space for our system and application fies, and another dirive for our data.
So it is a pity that the Creative Cloud Connection utility allows the Creative Cloud Files Foder to be only on the user disk.
It is for this reason alone that I will not be using this service

  • Creative Cloud File Folder

My other team members are unable to view or retrieve files that I add to our Creative Cloud File Folder.  Any ideas?

If each team member is signing in with their own Adobe ID then each team member has their own private file storage.
When you install the Creative Cloud Connection application then a Creative Cloud Files folder is created on your computer. This folder mirrors you private storage in the cloud.
Currently you can only share links for individual files. Folder sharing is coming.

  • No Creative Cloud Files folder

    Hi guys,
I've had Creative Cloud installed on my Mac for a while now, and have just decided to try using the Cloud to share and sync files. However, when I hit "start syncing", nothing happens. I looked into why this may be and it turns out I don't have a Creative Cloud Files folder anywhere on my Mac. Tried reinstalling the CC desktop app, but this hasn't worked. Any ideas?

    dannyNB,
You could also try the solution in this posting: Re: Sync folder can't be activated.
This seems to have worked for a few others with similar issues.

  • Why is my amount of space used different from my Creative Cloud Files Folder size?

Why is my amount of 'space used' different from my Creative Cloud Files Folder size? CC is telling me I'm using 93% (18.6GB of 20GB) but my CC File Folder only contains 13.42GB?

Have you checked the "Archive" section on the Creative.adobe.com website ?
When you delete the files then they are moved to the "Archive" from where you can delete the content permanently.
Clear the Archive section and then check.

  • Unable to create the creative cloud files folder.

I get this message when I try to sync files to Creative Cloud folder:
I have tried the options, and to close the program and restart the computer, but no luck.

    Hi,
This looks like Creative Cloud is unable to create the Creative Cloud folder is your user home folder, are you certain that this location is 100% writable? there are no permissions stopping programs writing to this location?, its unusual that your Creative Cloud folder is missing, you must have manually moved or deleted it.
    Thanks

  • Help - My main computer doesn't create the "Creative Cloud files" folder

My Imac (OsX 10.9.4) doesn't create the folder "CCF" .
I pick time after time the "star synchronization" bottom, then start the wheel to run but nothing really happens in the end.
However, I could create the folder without problems in my laptop, same OS.
How could I solve this problem?
    Thanks!

  • I'm getting conflicting files in my Creative Cloud files folder

Hi, I need some help understanding what is happening with the sync feature in creative cloud.
I'm currently working on a project from the office, leave work come home and work again at night with the same file.
My understanding is that I will be working on the same file because cc will sync the file to the last saved version. But instead I'm having the original file and another 2-3 version of the file with (Conflicted copy from %COMPUTERNAME% on 2013-11-01) added to the name.
The problem is that you have to search and make sure you are working on the last version of the file, in addition to the confusion, risk and the hassle of renaming files.
Can I fix this with some setup? am I doing something wrong or this is an Adobe problem??
    Please any help is appreciated

Make sure you signed in with same email address on your Computer, website and Ipad.
    To check
Open Creative Cloud App and Click Gear icon on the top Right corner, then open preferences.
    Click on accounts.
Also make sure you have enough space in your cloud account
If the email address is same then check.

how can I change the path / folder?

    Hi @amia,
Yes, you can change the location of the "Creative Cloud Files" folder on your desktop computer.  In the CC desktop app, select the Settings icon (gear icon in upper right), then the "Preferences..." menu option.  Click the Files tab and you'll see the "Folder Location" option.
    Hopefully this works for you.
    Thanks,
    Elba

  • You cannot change your default location of "Creative Cloud Files" for sync from desktop

So, I'm finding that I am restricted from moving the "Creative Cloud Files" container (for syncing to the cloud from my desktop). It is bound to C:Users/Name and will not move.
This is very saddening and seems like an elementary function that should be included.
I do not want to store things on my small SSD C: drive -- thanks.
    Am I missing something here?

    Hi Mark,
As per Adobe F.A.Q, I would like to state that :http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html
"Your files remain on your local hard drive. You can also choose to take advantage of the ability to synchronize your local files with your Creative Cloud storage. Even if you choose to sync your files to Creative Cloud, you will always have a local copy of your files."
There are some workarounds, it might work out, you can try it : It is for windows
First, stop the sync and exit the app ( right-click on the Connection icon and click Turn Sync Off, right-click again and choose Exit )
Go to “C:\Users\your user name” folder and locate Creative Cloud Files folder
Move the folder to a different location ( e.g. “D:\Data\Creative Files” ) and make sure that you move complete Creative Cloud Files folder
Run cmd.exe in admin privileges ( type cmd in Start menu, right click on cmd and select Run as administrator )
    Type following:
    mklink /J “C:\Users\your_user_name\Creative Cloud Folder” “D:\Data\Creative Files”
You should receive message that the junction is created ( refer to this guide if you need more help:Complete Guide to Symbolic Links (symlinks) on Windows or Linux )
Now to test it BEFORE you turn on the Connection app simply copy something to “D:\Data\Creative Files” folder, than go to Creative Cloud Files folder in your users folder and you should see the file you copied
If you are able to see the file, all you have to do is to start the Connection app! Hooray!
This guide should work for Windows 7 and Windows 8.

  • What is the Creative Cloud Files (archived) folder for?

I see its content mirrors the same stuff that's currently in my Creative Cloud Files folder on my Mac finder.

This effectively a back up of your Creative Cloud folder if you uninstall and re install Creative Cloud. The Creative Cloud folder is not deleted during an uninstall to preserve your data.

  • Difference in size of Creative Cloud Files synced folder and online file space used

Anyone have any idea why Creative Cloud says my space used online is 50% larger than the total file size in my local "Creative Cloud Files" folder?  I've logged in and out of my account, restarted the Creative Cloud app, checked my archive online through the browser, and emptied my archive online.

  • CoreSync.exe blocks all network traffic while (slowly) syncing my Creative Cloud files

    Hello folks,
Since the latest Creative Cloud update (I'm using version 1.9.0.465 as of this writing), I've been unable to successfully sync my Creative Cloud Files folder.
First things first, as other forum users have posted elsewhere, when the update installed itself, my Creative Cloud Files folder was moved from my chosen location to its default location (C:\Users\MyUserName) and I've been unable to put it back where I wanted it.
However, more pressingly, I noticed that every time I booted my computer, neither my wife nor I were able to access the Internet.  After a couple days' trial and error I realized that Creative Cloud was trying (unsuccessfully) to sync about seven files (totaling about 750MB) to the cloud, and anytime the sync was actively working, my network access was completely blocked.  Even the Creative Cloud desktop app itself couldn't access the Internet to authenticate my apps or Typekit fonts.
I have managed to get much smaller files (1MB, 5MB, up to 15MB) to sync successfully, however this takes a really long time, and no one on my network can manage to load a web page on their device until the sync is complete.
Right now I've got syncing paused, and everything on my network is working fine.
For some additional info, I've attached a screen grab of my Networking tab from Task Manager:
The big spikes in that graph are me and my wife loading up tons of web content-- YouTube videos, a million tabs of who-knows-what, all acting normally.  Then I hit Resume on CC's sync operation, my activity line clamps way down, and no one can load any Internet content anywhere.  After that, I released my computer's IP address from the command prompt, at which point Creative Cloud Desktop returned a connection failure, and I quit the app.  When I renewed my IP address, I noticed our network access was still blocked, even though Creative Cloud was not running.  I traced the problem back to CoreSync.exe, which had continued running even after I'd quit Creative Cloud.  The moment I ended the CoreSync.exe process, everything was back to normal... until I restarted the Creative Cloud app, which in turn restarted CoreSync.exe.  It was only after pausing CC's sync operation that we were able to use the Internet again.
So!  To sum up, here are my two issues:
Syncing is entirely broken, and prevents everyone on my network from using the Internet while CC spins its wheels.
For some reason, following the same update, I'm unable to change the location of my Creative Cloud Files folder.
    Some things I've tried:
Uninstalling & reinstalling the Creative Cloud Desktop app-- no change
Clearing my archived files on creative.adobe.com in case there was some weird argument happening between my live/syncing files and my archived files-- no change
Manually adding CoreSync.exe to my Windows Firewall whitelist-- no change
Finally, I can recreate this issue on my second computer, running the same version of Creative Cloud but running off wireless instead of Ethernet.  Same symptoms-- feed it a file to sync, and everyone's Internet access is gone until the sync operation [eventually] finishes.
I'm completely stumped and very frustrated.  I rely heavily on CC's file syncing feature, and as it's the only cloud storage product I'm actually paying for, I'm not willing to abandon it for another service like DropBox.  I'm willing to try just about anything-- and in the meantime I'm just wishing Creative Cloud Desktop app updates weren't compulsory; the last build I'd installed here was working perfectly fine.
My basic system specs in case it's helpful:
    Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1
    2x Intel Xeon E5-2670 @ 2.6GHz
    64GB DDR3 RAM
    nVidia Quadro 4000
Any insights would be incredibly appreciated!  Thanks in advance.

    Heyo Dave,
Thanks so much for your reply and suggestions.  Here's what I've discovered after some more noodling.
I'm no networking guy, but I can't seem to find anything about my modem or router that would explain why my upstream traffic is being throttled using CC-- especially since it's all the same hardware I was using last week before I updated CC.
In addition, I've tried test uploading a couple of files using DropBox, Google Drive, and WeTransfer.com, and neither process interrupts Internet use on my network.
With all that said, I did go in and pull back my Transfer Speed settings in CC from Maximum to Low, and that made a big difference!  Syncing continued to work, and our other network requests were working just fine.  I managed to get my upload speed set as high as Medium; High and Maximum both kill my network within seconds of being set.
So I'm not sure what was done to the CC application in this release to supposedly enable us to "Sync Files and Fonts faster" (from the release notes), but whatever it is, it's got my uploads capping at 100Kbps (compared to a minimum 350Kbps using Google Drive) unless no one in my home wants to check their email for the next hour.  That's a significant bummer for me, as my After Effects projects regularly swell to ~50MB toward the end of a project.
I'd like to submit a big report here, since really the only variable at play in this situation was the Creative Cloud update.  However, unfortunately it looks like the bug report form is down...  I'll have to try again later.
In the meantime, if there are any other suggestions for experiments I can run on this beast, I'm happy to oblige and report back in case other folks with similar issues can get some relief!
    Thanks again,
    Jared

  • Why do I have 3 'Creative Cloud Files' folders?

Hello! I have a question about the Creative Cloud folder structure/syncing.
I installed the Creative Cloud Desktop application on my MacBook Pro and then installed the following programs: Lightroom, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro.
Once I had done that I switched 'file sync' on in the Desktop Application bar.
I noticed that I have three different areas called 'Creative Cloud Files' and one of these folders is called 'Creative Cloud Files Unknown' [see screenshot below].
Does anyone know why there are three separate locations? Which area am I supposed to save my files in so that I can sync them with the cloud? Can I delete the one that says 'unknown' in the file name? I assume that the folder listed in the Favourites Bar is the same place as the 'Creative Cloud Files' folder in my account?

With the recent update of the Creative Cloud Desktop app (1.9.1.474) we unfortunately introduced a bug which causes the creation of a new Creative Cloud Files folder, and re-sync of all content. This will only occur the first time the sync application runs after the update. This has caused understandable pain and confusion, for which we truly apologise.
We have taken steps to ensure we increase our focus on quality in this area to prevent a recurrence.
The Creative Cloud Files app contains logic that supports the use of multiple Adobe IDs. This allows you to sign out of one ID and in to another, but keeps your Creative Cloud content separate. When you sign out and change IDs, the app moves the previous Creative Cloud Files folder and it's contents and appends it with the previously signed in ID (User@AdobeID). It then creates a new main folder and starts to sync content of the new ID.
The bug which I mentioned previously occurs, as the app believes an ID switch has taken place and as such, moves the current Creative Cloud Files folder and tries to append the previously signed in ID. As no switch has actually taken place it manifests as (Unknown).  The app then creates a new main folder at syncs down the data.
Essentially what you end up with is a Creative Cloud Files folder with your newly sync'd data and a Creative Cloud Files (Unknown) folder that contains duplicate data.
This occurs once, after the last update completes.
The fix is to simply delete the Creative Cloud Files (Unknown) folder.
I would advise that you ensure you have no pending edits that you may have made offline and that you check the contents of the new, main Creative Cloud Files folder contains everything you expect it to.  If not, check the contents of the Creative Cloud Files (Unknown) folder.
If there is still a discrepancy with your data, you can check on creative.adobe.com to confirm your data is there.
If you have any further problems or questions about this particular issue please email [email protected]
Again, let me say we are sorry for any inconvenience caused
