Creative Cloud Issue After Using Apple's Migration Assistant

I bought a new Mac and used Apple's Migration assistant to transfer everything from the old Mac to the new. Everything works with all apps except Creative Cloud. Creative Cloud states that some files are missing and prompts me to download and install Creative Cloud again. I do that and run the App. The app runs for a minute, acts like it's installing than I get the same error -- Creative Cloud is missing some files or some files are corrupt, please download and reinstall -- it brings me to the webpage to download it again. I'm stuck in this infinite loop!
The old Mac where Creative Cloud runs fine is a 15" Retina Display MacBook Pro. The new Mac is a 27" iMac.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Uninstall, run the cleaner, and install fresh

    I have an old PPC G5 duel 2.0 I still have some information and programming files on this unit which from time to time I still need to access, it has been about a year since I last logged into this unit and found that the last password I remembered is wrong or I cant remember it.
    So I tried the following options from Apple S
    Type mount -uw / and press Enter.
    Type rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone and press Enter.
    Type shutdown -h now and press Enter.
    When the unit shut down and I restarted, the welcome video began to play and the installer began to run.
    I am stuck here because I cant seem to get the unit to see a previous installation, couple of quick notes.
    I had the install disk in the DVD, (earlier the DVD did not recognize the disk) So I am not sure if the disk booted and thus leaves me in the installer .
    Is there a way to recover from this condition?
    I do have a backup, I tried to use that back up but got a strange warning, about how the machine would need to be upgraded first, odd because the backup was from the current version. 10.5.x

    I went as far as selecting the language, I did not select continue, I did attempt to load a backup file, but received an error backup was not compatible with the version, upgrade required first.
    I did not see any menu items for resetting the password.
    Its also possible the DVD disk may not be properly reading the DVD disk, (it will not play audio CDs but does recognize data DVDs,)
    If the DVD drive is bad, Im stuck here, until I get a new one, but will try the steps you outlined,
    (I removed the DVD from the drive, rebooted, right back to the installer) (without the DVD in the drive) 
    So, that confused me, will try to see if I can get the drive to boot to the Disk, (thanks for your reply, I appreciate it)

    I had a similar issue. I closed the Cloud icon, and when I went to open it again, it just died.
    I uninstalled Adobe Creative Cloud, went to the Adobe CC download page and requested a trial copy of PS, being sure to enter my CC name and password.  It then reinstalled Adobe Creative Cloud, and all is working again (I hope).

  • Creative Cloud stops after 10 sec

    Hi,
    I like to update Lightroom and Photoshop, so I start Creative Cloud and after ± 10 seconds Creative Cloud stops without any message whatsoever.
    So I tried to uninstall Creative Cloud, but the uninstaller progress bar is standing still even after 30 minutes. The process manager showed the uninstaller was hanging
    So I repaired the filesystem permissions, an still the uninstaller was hanging
    So I ran the CC Cleaner Tool only for Creative Cloud removal
    After that I reinstalled a fresh Application Manager, which downloaded and installed the new Creative Cloud
    But the problem is still not solved and Creative Cloud still shuts down (crashes) after ± 10 seconds.
    Please what can I do? during my trial perod I had no problem whatsoever, but sinds I start paying this is happening.
    Specs:
    Creative Cloud subsription
    MAC OSX 10.9.4

    The install of prem. Pro,,,it did install but no desktop icon and none of the icons in cloud work..I was able to go into C drive then into the prem.pro folder,found the icon for the application and that opened the program..It ran ok..I have found no way to reinstall anything from cloud without first removing said program.Thats what I am doing now,uninstalling prem.pro and cloud in hopes of a clean install will fix the issues.Not going to hold my breath tho as I really don't think they have fixed the bug yet.
    On the plus side LightRoom did install with a working icon.
    PS cc 2014 did not put out a startup icon but as with prem.pro was able to open by going into the file folder.
    I am running Win8 64 bit with a 6 core cpu
    Modern Tech.....Isn't great when it works...But when it doesn't...Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr      LOL
    Will post the results of reinstall.
    Note....CLOUD STILL claims Pre Pro is there..Guess will have to remove cloud also and reload it before I can get anywhere.  grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    Please check if some files are archived.

    Uchinan please try running the uninstallers in the Programs & Features control panel to see if it is restores your ability to reinstall within the Adobe Application Manager.

    I assume you have the S/Ns. The download is at http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html. Be sure to backup the download to CD or backup HD for future use.

    Why can't you use Lightroom?
    Will Lightroom not install?
    Do you have Lightroom 5 standalone version installed?
