Creative Cloud losing network connection/deleting files

My team has been using Creative Cloud since June 2014.  We work off of macs running OS Mavericks and use an internal server.  For months now we have experienced errors mostly in InDesign where we lose our network connection, InDesign crashes, and our files either delete or revert back to the original version despite multiple saves.  We have had network and server specialists in and have ruled out any internal connection issues.  Could this be a Creative Cloud issue and are there any recommended fixes?

Force your NIC to run at 100Mbps full duplex and see how it goes.
Check your router / switch ports as well as cables.
I will try 100 Mbps if it happens again. So far, it hasn't occurred after installing the driver supplied by MSI's Web site and not RealTek's Web site. The room temperatures even got warmer like 83F degrees.
As for router and switch, what am I checking for? Other computers didn't have any problems. As for cat5 cables, I already tried another one like I said in my original post.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop network connectivity

This post is more a suggestion for future versions of this product.
I've been using Creative Cloud Desktop on my Mac laptop running the most recent version of OS X. I've noticed that whenever my laptop goes into sleep mode, network connectivity is lost. THis is normal. But when I resume from the sleep mode, CC Desktop is not smart enough to detect this; so it remains disconnected until I manually click on the application icon on the menu bar, see the message telling me that network connectivity lost, and click retry.
I think this is a minor problem, but getting the app to automatically reconnect to the network would be a nice improvement.

    Tried it, but no luck.
I'm on a total fresh installed system (OS-X 10.8), only Photoshop CC is installed but the Creative cloud installer belive that Edge Reflow and Inspect also are there.
I'm runing the system on a external harddrive, and on the internal both Photoshop CC and the Edge programs are installed.
I would realy like to install both programs on this new fress system install, so I can get to work with them.

  • Randomly losing network connection over wireless

Shortly after installing the 10.4.5 software update, my G4 iBook with built-in Airport Extreme card has been losing connection with increasing frequency. Built-in Ethernet use is unaffected. I'm calling this problem thrash-and-drop.
    1. When it's losing signal, processor activity goes through the roof. I had Activity Monitor running during a thrash-and-drop. kernel_task CPU consumption goes from under 1% before the event, to over 80% during the thrashing, and back under 1% after the thrashing stops. The activity is so bad the cursor can't be controlled: using the track pad sends the pointer all over the screen or nowhere at all.
    2. This has been observed to occur with two different wireless base stations: A Linksys WRT54G and an older SMC 802.11b router. Either router is within 10 feet of the computer. Only one is running at a time. There are no other base stations in range.
    3. Another iBook G4 (OS 10.3, Airport Extreme card (not built-in)), sitting next to it, shows no change and its wireless behavior is unaffected.
Initially, this seemed more likely to happen when Safari was loading Flash-heavy pages. And after thrashing and dropping a connection, it was able to reconnect after either a reboot or a five minute sleep. Currently, it can't connect to a base station for more than a minute. Most recently, it thrashed and dropped while I was selecting the base station to use. This is true regardless of the application running. In fact, it will thrash-and-drop when there are no user applications running at all, after a fresh reboot.
I've tried the following things to address the problem. None have affected the thrash-and-drop problem. Admittedly, most of this is random:
    1. Back up and delete network preferences in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
    2. Turn off IPv6 in System Preferences/Network
    3. Back up and delete network preferences in ~/Library/Preferences (com.apple.NetInfoManager.plist and com.apple.NetworkUtility.plist)
Has anybody else seen this problem? I want to blame it on the 10.4.5 upgrade but I haven't seen anybody else complaining about 10.4.5 doing this to them. If there's something I can do to fix this in a software setting, I'd much prefer that to yet another roadtrip to the Apple store.

    Hi!
I have the same problem of randomly losing network connection over wireless, though mine is hardly related to surfing.
I have an external storage drive in which I use for backup of my stuff, and I access the drive via my modem, using the airport. Of late, I noticed that when copying files from my iBook to the external drive, the connection would suddenly drop before the transfer is completed. This began to occur with increasing frequency, particularly when transferring large files.
I have since abandoned wireless connection, and reverted to my trusty cable. Still, I admit that I'm really curious about the cause of the apparent lack of reliability with my wireless connection. Has it something to do with the airport?

  • Deleting files on Creative Cloud - does it really delete them?

In the absence of Creative Cloud Connection to sync files, I have been replacing files with new versions by simply deleting the old one and uploading the newer version.  Since they are the same file, obviously they have the same file name on my hard disk.
However, Creative Cloud automatically appends a number to the end of the new file.  Attempts to rename it back to the original name just cause the number to increment forwards or backwards to the next number.  It really seems as if the original file is still there, just invisible.
Presumably this limitation will disappear with the release of Creative Cloud Connection, but I wonder why it is there in the first place.  If it remains, it's going to be a real pain.  Will it result in the synced files on your hard disk also having their names changed, or perhaps even being duplicated?
In case any of this wasn't clear, here's an example:
Upload a file, let's say it's called Erik.  Now delete it from Creative Cloud and upload it again.  The new file will be called Erik 1.  Try to rename it back to Erik, and watch it change to Erik 2.  Further attempts to change it back to Erik result in it switching between Erik 1 and Erik 2 repeatedly.  The system will not allow you to rename it to the previously deleted filename Erik.

Deletion is a two stage process. First you Trash the file then you Permanently delete it.
In the same row as you used to Trash the file there is a drop-down combo box to the right. After trashing the file switch from All to Deleted and you will be able to Permanently Delete the file.
I will also investigate the issue you are describing in the last paragraph.

  • Error 1603 Installing Creative Cloud from Network Path

I used the same method as I am going to describe below to install CS6 but I cannot do this with Creative Cloud.
After I built a install Package for Adobe Creative cloud I copied it up to a network share that I use for several other remote installations including Adobe CS6.  I use Dell KACE to distribute my software and due to the large size of Creative Cloud and Creative Suite before it I do not want to copy the large install files directly to the appliance.
The problem I am having is when I try to install from this network location just as I have with CS6 I get the following error:
    Installation operation failed
Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Adobe_CC_NoAcrobat. Product Version: 1.2.0000. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Adobe Systems Incorporated. Installation success or error status: 1603.
Adobe_CC_NoAcrobat is what I named the package.
My install commands look like this:
    start /wait \\SERVER\AdobeCC\Adobe_CC_NoAcrobat\Exceptions\ExceptionDeployer.exe --workflow=install --mode=pre
    start /wait msiexec.exe /i "\\SERVER\AdobeCC\Adobe_CC_NoAcrobat\Build\Adobe_CC_NoAcrobat.msi" /qn /L*v c:\Adobe.log
    start /wait \\SERVER\AdobeCC\Adobe_CC_NoAcrobat\Exceptions\ExceptionDeployer.exe --workflow=install --mode=post
I added the Logging after it kept failing to see what was going on and I can paste the entire log file if need be but if I copy the folder with the package contents locally and run the same commands from the same elevated command prompt it installs fine.  Error 1603 usually points to some access rights issue but for the life of me I cannot determine what the issue is.  I have given full control to "Everyone", "SYSTEM" and all users to the network share and it is only the MSI that fails it seems.

I have just run into this problem.  I have made two packages earlier in the year (one of Creative Cloud Design and Web and one with Creative Cloud Master Collection both being for x64) and they both worked flawlessly when deploying via Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT).  However I just went to make a new package of Master Collection (only including the applications we actually use) and it is now completely broken (I deleted my Creative Cloud Design and Web package from MDT but still have my old Master Collection package and it still works).
My older packages were created on Windows Server 2008 SP2 Enterprise 32bit and I have tried creating new packages on Windows Server 2012 R2 x64 and Windows Server 2003 SP2 Standard Edition 32bit and both give the same failure.  I thought it might have been something about building on a x64 OS this time compared to last time but as I still get the same error when I tried to build from the Windows Server 2003 so that does not appear to be the case so I am guessing something has broken in the Creative Cloud Packager.
Has anyone tried going back to an older version of the Creative Cloud Packager?  The current version is 1.6.0 Build 48 so if I can find a download link I will try and give version 1.5.0 a shot.  Either way this needs to be fixed ASAP as it did work and I need a working deployment for the new Windows 8.1.1 Enterprise x64 image I am in the process of making.

  • Creative Cloud - "unable to connect to server"

Here's my situation.  I have used Creative Cloud for more than 2 years with no problems.I'm on a windows 7 machine.  I recently updated to CC 2014, but did not remove the last version before I did.  a few days ago I noticed that Creative Cloud wouldn't update.  Then I discovered that when I try to open creative cloud I get an error message that reads "unable to reach adobe servers.  Please check your firewall settings, and try again in a few minutes".
it is definitely not my network connection, I have a second laptop with the same software on it that is sitting on the same table as the desktop giving me trouble that is  able to connect to the adobe servers fine.
I called tech support and went through ALL the steps they gave me in including, turning off firewalls, virus protector, deleting OOBE and AAMUupdator, creating a new user account and shutting down all startup programs.  None of this has worked.
On top of that, now creative cloud seems to think I'm not a registered user.  All of my apps either shut down when I try to open them, or ask me for a serial number or to agree to a trial.
Does anyone out there have a solution.  I'm frustrated by customer support - after two separate chats going through the exact same steps (they even took over my machine remotely) and now another delay while I wait for someone to get back to me I'm not holding out my hopes they'll be able to solve my problem.
I have a major project due at the end of thisweek with no possibility to extend the deadline.  If I can't get it completed, I'll have some angry clients to deal with.
    HELP!!!

  • Adobe Creative Cloud will not Sync Any Files/Folders (MAC OSX)

I am posting this more as a guide for people having similar issues than I am a question, as it has already been resolved but I could not find this answer anywhere on the forums.
    Here was my situation:
After a fresh install of a completely empty creative cloud account, Creative Cloud is unable to sync any files or folders.
In order to troubleshoot the issue, I created a single <folder> and 1 file (Instructions.txt) inside my Creative Cloud Folder that needed to sync. Remember, this was a brand new install on a brand new account.
    I then attempted to sync.
Here is an excerpt from my CoreSync log, so that you can see the errors being generated:

I called Adobe Customer Support, and after explaining the situation, was first instructed on how to save a file to my Creative Cloud folder. Just a note to Adobe, when a customer sends you a detailed log file and tells you they have already tried certain steps from the forums, don't start at using Adobe 101.
Customer service insisted that I try deleting options.tix again. I did so, following the instruction posted here: Re: I can't sync to my files In the CC desktop app
    This did not work.
Support then requested that I navigate to /Users/<my username>/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/ and rename the "CoreSync" folder to "Coresyncold".
Upon doing, killing "Adobe Creative Cloud" and "CoreSync" processes, and restarting the "Adobe Creative Cloud" Application, all syncing functionality worked correctly.
To summarize, this fixed the issue:
Rename "CoreSync" to "Coresyncold" (Functionally, the same as deleting it)
Kill "Adobe Creative Cloud" and "CoreSync" Processes
    Restart "Adobe Creative Cloud"
Here is the process as terminal commands:
    mv ~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/CoreSync ~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/CoreSyncOld
    killall Creative\ Cloud
    killall CoreSync
    open -a Creative\ Cloud
    Good Luck,

Hi, Thanks for the reply.  Everything worked fine until I updated to CC14.  after that, I receive conflicted file messages. So, I archived all my files that were in cloud.  I opened each file on my Mac and re-saved them using SaveAs so I was sure the file was in the CC14 format.  I uploaded each file to the cloud as they would not synch.  Now when I work on a file I get double the files showing the original file (with the old upload date) and the conflicted file on my Mac.  I have no idea now which file I am actually using is the original file or the conflicted file.  Still today, nothing synchs - I get the "Some Files failed to Sync" message - click Learn More and the message tells me that the cloud is working perfectly... but it's not... my files aren't synching... I have worked on two files today and neither have synched.  It's the weirdest thing...

  • Creative Cloud seems to have deleted my templates

My Creative Cloud subscription missed a payment two days ago due to a change of card details.  This morning I updated it with my new card details and paid the subscription.
In this time though it has reset my After Effects to the trial version and seems to have deleted all my Output Module templates.  Some of these were made through trial and error and needed to be identical for a specific project - they will be very hard to replicate!  There may have been other things reset that I haven't noticed yet.
Has anyone else had this?  Is it standard policy?  Is there anyway to avoid this in future so as not to lose work due to a completely innocent mistake?
It seems a major problem with the subscription model if a delayed payment can cost work

Thanks guys - I was in a rush Tuesday morning to finish some work so I thought I'd get that done and update my card details in the afternoon.  But it was the disabling of reading mpegs that made me realise I'd have to get the subscription sorted first.  Just to be clear the output modules that disappeared were Quicktime as well as mpeg so I don't think that was the issue
I'd done a load of renders on Sunday with the output modules working fine but as soon as I'd updated the subscription on Tuesday and the license had come through they were all gone.  Some of my layouts have changed too, although not all of them strangley.  I haven't noticed any other changes... (no luck with it sorting out the terrible ram caching problems of CS6!)
I haven't reset the preferences and haven't touched the .aom files - I've been using After Effects consistently for the last 9 years so I'm pretty sure it's not a 'user error'

After updating the Adobe Creative Cloud update manager, I can no longer log on to the server.  I assume that since the App Manager disappeared after the update, the new Adobe Creative Cloud app replaces it.

What is the exact error message you are getting? If I understand correctly you were able to update Adobe Application Manager to the Creative Cloud desktop app but the desktop is not working because of a server error. That right?
