Creative Cloud shuts down

On my Macbook Pro running OS X  10.10.1, the creative cloud app appears in the finder when booted, then immediately shuts down. It opens and immediately shuts down if I run the program from the application folder.   I have no firewall and have tried several internet connections.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the application, checked the firewall, repaired permissions, logged in as a new administrator -  all with no success.  All the cc2014 applications run fine.

I upgraded to 10.10.1 after all the apps were installed and working.   The cc app keeps crashing.  Each crash created a log and there were legions of them.   My computer also started shutting down and restarting on its own and Apple suggested uninstalling suspected programs.   The first program  I uninstalled was cc desktop and the shutdowns stopped.
I went to adobe customer service as you suggested, but I don't have time to mess with the confused maze they have to let them know about a problem.    I'm a professor at a university with an Adobe contract and our IT department knows about my problem, but they are not able to help.   My solution to this problem is to keep cc app off the computer.

Nobody can know anything. You have not provided any system info or other technical details. Just saying that it doesn't work simply is not good enough.

Catastrophic licensing failure ... Creative suite shuts down ... now I can't reinstall it ... HELP!!
I was in the middle of a project, not terribly time-sensitive ... YET ... but this is the strangest, most frustrating problem I have encountered with Creative Suite yet.

Did anybody reply to your post?

  • Home screen in Creative Cloud drop down never loads

When I open my CC app from the drop down menu on my iMac (Mavericks), the wheel just keeps spinning in the home screen. If I switch tabs (apps, assets, etc.), everything is OK. When I switch back to the Home tab, the wheel is still spinning. I tought it just needed to sync but it's been like that for several days.
When I go to my MacBook Pro, everything works normal.

  • Creative Cloud Site Down Since Yesterday

I've been trying to access this area: https://creative.adobe.com/join/team_offer
After putting in my userid and password, it either just sits there, shows a blank page, or an error page. Tried several different browsers too, same result. What's wrong?

Are you by chance behind a proxy server? I've been able to access it from our company's network, but only using IE. Safari and Chrome no longer work.

  • Lightroom is not installed but Creative Cloud thinks it is!

I have completely uninstalled the entire Creative Cloud set of products including Lightroom 4.3 and Lightroom 5 (both 64-bit).  The icons changed to generic icons, indicating that the application link was broken, due to the fact that the product was no longer installed.
When I go to Adobe's CC website to try and download Lightroom 5 after signing in, my web browser asks which application I want to use to open the download link.  I choose the Creative Cloud application but nothing updates in CC Desktop.  I am on Windows 7 64-bit SP1.
I do not know why Creative Cloud Desktop still thinks those apps are installed and does not give me the button to install it.  Instead it shows "up-to-date".
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
P.S.  I also checked with the Adobe Cleaner Tool to make sure no CC apps were installed.

Lehestro (and anyone else having this problem on a Mac), I had this same problem tonight and solved it. I got a new hard drive for my Mac Pro today and did a clean install of Mavericks on it. When I installed Adobe Creative Cloud for the first time, it thought I alfeady had Lightroom installed and "Up to date" for some reason even though I hadn't installed anything but the Creative Cloud Desktop. It's possibly because it detected the application on my old hard drive, which I had mounted to transfer files to the new drive.
Anyway, I first tried installing the Lightroom trial application because I read that Cretive Cloud would update it to stop asking for a serial number. I installed the trial, then moved all of my relevant Lightroom settings over from the old hard drive to the new one so I could keep all my settings. I got most of these files from the various preferences files inside "~/Library/Preferences" (including all files and folders that start with "Adobe" as well as "com.Adobe" and "~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/". I believe that's where all the files I transferred were. And of course I copied my Lightroom catalog, backups, and previews files to my user folder as well (just do a Google search for "moving lightroom files to new computer" and you'll see what files to move). I used the same directory structure on my new hard drive so there would be minimal confusin when moving all my files over.
While that did keep all of my settings quite nicely (and I mean everything, including camera calebration defaults that I had changed and things like that), it still asked me for a serial number.
What eventually worked was simple. I dragged the "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.app" icon out of my Applications folder and into the trash. I then logged out of Creative Cloud, shut down my computer, unmounted the old hard drive, rebooted, and logged back into CC. Once I did that, Lightroom wasn't listed in my installed apps anymore, and became available as a new download. I downloaded and installed it from CC, and voila! Now it launches without asking for a serial number, and it still kept all my settings that I dragged over from the old hard drive. The only thing I had to do was go to the Plugins Manager and re-install my Picasa and SmugMug plugins. When I did that, it still even still retained their settings and had all the images in the galleries I had built on and published via my old system.

  • Placed images/files disappearing from Creative Cloud

I am getting a little frustrated as every time I open a couple of my Indesign documents, one or two of the placed PDFs is gone from Cloud. I have to go back to the emails, search for the client's file, reformat, etc. and then resave to CC, and then relink in Indesign. How stable or unstable is Cloud? Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I have been using dropbox for years and it is so awesome, and fast. Creative Cloud is slower, and it appears it should work on the same basics as Dropbox, I do know if I shut my computer down too quickly, files sometimes do not get saved/updated correctly. The other day Creative Cloud was down for the evening, although you are still able to access the desktop Creative Cloud, but it worries me that if I work from home, save files, then have to go on location to a client, open the files remotely, will the files always be there...
I want to know if anyone else is having issues with files disappearing, mine are mostly PDFs clients send me, mostly I only change the color destination, but sometimes I change emails, wording etc. so I have to search around for the client revisions and redo the work...
Are there other steps to do to the pdfs, perhaps there is a conflct in metadata, or other attributes?
I have been using CC for two months now.

  • Will Adobe Story Plus work without internet connection and/or Creative Cloud being up?

We just started using Story Free on a recent project and are looking to go bigger with it on a feature length project.  A big downside we noticed is that when Creative Cloud was down last week, we were completely locked out of our scripts in Story Free... On the paid, Story Plus version, do you have offline access to your work, or is it also cloud dependent?
    Thanks,

  • Why do I have to constantly update Creative Cloud programs?

I have updated Illustrator, Photoshop, Bridge & InDesign several times this week. The day after I update the Creative Cloud pull down menu in my menu bar request that I update again. Am I doing something wrong? I am on a Mac running 10.9.1.

Same problem here. I had to do the update for Photoshop 14.2 the third time now.

  • Adobe CS6 Apps Shuts Down After Installing Creative Cloud.

I can't start my Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign CS6 anymore, it just shuts down as soon as it's done loading, without any errors. Only Bridge CS6 will start.
I tried launching with Ctrl+Alt and Ctrl+Alt+Shift but it did not work.
Then I tried uninstalling it (With all the preferences as well), and install it again, that did nothing - still the same issue.
I updated windows and my gfx drivers (GeForece 332.21 - NVS4200M) after the issue started.
I tried both the 32bit and the 64bit version.
I have manually removed the preferences file.
I have disabled the firewall and my AV.
I have logged out and back in of the Creative Suite Utility.
My hosts file is not blocking any sites.
I am running Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit.
I tried to open a issue on superuser but that did not help, nobody has awnsered it yet.

Nicoar do you receive any specific error messages?  I would recommend starting with the steps listed in Error "Failed to Install" Creative Cloud Desktop application - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/failed-install-creative-cloud-desktop.html.

I don't think I can access the crash report? Excuse the ignorant questions I'm about to make am a relative tech novice.
Soo - as mentioned every time I open photoshop it crashes - it just says there's an error and the program will shut down and if there's a solution windows will notify me. Then nothing...
I've tried to look in photoshop files for the detailed crash report & the system event viewer but cannot find a file with those names. I've also looked in the windows files for files with those names but cannot find them either - so I don't know where to look.
    Any guidance would be great.

    Thanks.

I stumbled upon the solution. In addition to downloading Creative Cloud, I needed to go back to the website and  download trials for the programs I want to use--Photoshop and Lightroom. Once I did that, I was in business. Would save trouble if that was made clear on the download site.
    Thanks
