Creative Cloud truncates my file names

I've tried every naming format (no gaps, no symbols, short names) but any file downloaded from my cloud is shortened to the first 4 or 5 characters. The files upload fine and appear in the browser windows with the correct name.
I'm using Safari but I've also tried Firefox with the same results, the same files download fine with dropbox.

We are extremely sorry to hear about the inconvenience you faced but Story is a web service and should work with all the browsers.
In case you face similar issue please clear the browser cache and try again.

If a file with the same name is saved again then a version is created. You can see versions from the Files page at https://creative.adobe.com/files. From the Files page click on the file to go to its page. Switch from the Details tab to the Activity tab if needed. You will see the Current Version and any past versions.

Method to automatically truncate html file names?

I am using RoboHelp HTML 10 and building WebHelp.
I import a Word file for content.
Some of our topic names are long as in this example, which is over 60 characters.

Whne RH builds the html file for this topic, it creates the html file with the long name.
When I put this up on our build server, this actually stops the build process for the product.
I've been told that these lengthy file names are causing the problem.
I can manually truncate the file names in RH, but there are a lot of them.
Is there any way. to tell RH to restrict hrml file names to a certain length?

First of all there is no way to automatically change the file names. By default RH creates topic file names from the topic name and as the Word import uses the default setting, that is what you get. However I suspect that your Developers are only telling you half the truth. I suspect it is a combination of the file names AND the directory path that is the issue. Try shortening the path and see if that makes a difference.

Creative Cloud deletes my files!!!

I have single app subscription and I backup my project files in the cloud. But suddenly Creative Cloud deletes my files!!!!!! This is unbelievable. Hours of projects that I have worked on are not in my folders any more. I just get mountain lion notification that this and that file was deleted. How come is this possible when I PAY monthly money for this software.
Help me out to recover my files. ASAP.

For those who only use the file syncing with the Creative Cloud Files folder, at times you will want to sign in from the browser and check your Archive at https://creative.adobe.com/archive. The Archive is like the Recycle Bin on Windows or the Trash on Mac OS X. Files or folders that are deleted or moved out of the Creative Cloud Files folder go into the Archive. From the Archive you can either restore or permanently delete items.

You store your files wherever you like as you normally would.
Cloud apps install and run locally (same as perpetually licensed apps).
You save your files locally on oyur hard drive or server or wherever you like.
Your Cloud membership also includes 20GB of offsite storage in the Adobe Cloud which you are free to use or not use.

Updated Creative cloud deleted my files

Today, April 9 I updated my creative cloud app. After doing so, my Adobe Creative Cloud folder was EMPTY! Subsequently, the app starting to sync with the cloud and download the folder. The problem is that the files on my computer were more recent than what was in the cloud. I had been working off-line. Plus, I often have issues with the cloud not syncing automatically which creates a mess when working from my desktop and laptop at different locations.
I strongly urge you NOT to update the Creative Cloud app.
I contacted Adobe and they didn't have any suggestions for me and simply said that it's a known issue and they are working on it. I suggested that they disable the update as more customers will be very upset if they lose files. I got no response other than, "Is there anything else I can help you with?"

When I opened my computer just a little while ago I found that my Cloud had been updated (must've happened overnight ---I didn't initiate it.) Anyway, MANY of my files that I've been working on for the past couple of weeks have been DELETED!!!!!!!! WTF???? THis has cost me numerous hours of work, not to mention that I'm on deadline. I'm going to call Adobe after 9am and they better be able to restore ALL of my FILES that are missing. This will cost me thousands of dollars if the files are not recovered because I'll have to stop everything else and recreate. Luckily, by accident, I saved the latest Muse web file to my desktop, otherwise that too was lost on the CC. I haven't thoroughly checked it yet to see if this version accidently saved on my desktop is completely up-to-date, but if it isn't and my files cannot be recovered I may seek legal action.
I don't advise using Creative Cloud for any important files. It's not a secure storage facility (in my opinion judging from my latest experience).

Managing assets in Creative Cloud - deleting archived files

I have used up nearly all of my 20GB of Creative Cloud storage. However, when looking in Finder, I notice that I really only have about 6GB in the folder. Turns out, CC archives files, which is great in the event that I lose a file on a hard drive or a file get corrupted. I'd be able to restore from the archive. However, all those archive files take up a lot of space. I found out how to delete the archive files using the web based Manage Assets. However, it won't let me SHIFT select. I have to actually click each one, one at a time. I have over 3500 archive files. That will take me 20-30 minutes to do this.
Is there a better way to delete the archive files, other than DELETE ALL ARCHIVES?

Creative Cloud deleted my files.

Few weeks ago I have updated Creative Cloud and there were many duplicated files named with conflicted copy.
And few days ago I noticed that the some local files were deleted. ( I did NOT delete them by myself.)
I see the file on https://creative.adobe.com/files but I can not download it.
Is there a way to get my files back?
and I like to know why this happened.

The missing files in question are not listed in the archive so I contacted chat support and their responses are;
Once you updated to CC, your old files will be disappeared , you will not be able to retrieve the files again.

Updating Creative Cloud Error, Damaged File???

I am needing to update my creative cloud and an error keeps appearing, That my setup file is damaged, directions are to re download the CC setup file and again the error appears and their is no trouble shooting options. How can I get my CC up again? thank you

Acrobat Professional 8.0 Truncating PDF File Names

Recently did a full install of Professional 8.0. Existing PDF files open OK, but 'blue bar' at top of screen identifying file name shows only the 'Acrobat' logo and the first letter (not word) of the file name. Upon closing the file, the 'blue bar' continues to show only the 'Acrobat' logo and the letter 'A' (presumably the first letter of the words 'Adobe Acrobat Professional', which normally appears in the blue bar when Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.0 is running, but no files are open. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks.

Creative Cloud Deleting My Files

Hi,
About a month ago i posted a question about how to get my deleted files back that i did not delete.
Adobe sent me a link, the link would download a zip to a point then stop and give error message.
So i still haven't got those files back...
Now...
About every day, the cloud will delete at least two of my files.
1. How do i get it to stop?
2. How do i get my files back?
This is getting really annoying, almost making the cloud unusable

It happened again. One of my new psd files i just created "was removed". Can i get it back please. I looked in the archive and the "recovered" folder you guys added to my cloud and it isn't in either place.
More importantly, is there any way to stop it?

How to Edit Creative Cloud for Teams 'Team Name' inAdmin Console?

I have multiple VIP agreements in my CC Admin Console, with very similar names.
Can I edit these Team Names to make it easier to differentiate between them? If so, how?

Can I assign more than one seat to a user?
In our studio we have 7 workstations - so far we just had 7 CSs in Volume Licensing. We have licenses assigned to machines rather than people - any of the artists can sit on an available machine and just start working.
What is the equivalent for CC?
Do I create a single Adobe ID for our studio and assign 7 seats to this user and then use it on all machines for installations, or do I have to create 7 Adobe IDs (one per workstation) and assign a single seat to each of them?

Creative Cloud for teams File sharing

Is there a way to setup a folder that automatically shares to team members? Or a setting to automatically share all uploaded files to team members. Much like dropbox offers - you can link certain people to specific "job" folders and have those files automatically appear on the linked users computer.

James, It is not being vurrently offered, however, we will be coming up with an update very soon, with which this service will be in place.

In order to share files between my IMAC and Macbook Pro do I need to install CC on both devices?
I currently have CS5 on my IMAC do I need to replace this with my CC subscription?

You can do this by adding photos to a shared stream and enabling the public website option (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99). This will give you a private url that can be shared with non-iCloud users, enabling them to see the photos on the web from their computer browser. You will need iPhoto '11 to do this, available in the Mac App Store.
