Creative Console reverts to default at boot.

,C?Hi all im new to this forum, and this is my first post.
I have looked for a solution to this issue for 2 days now with no success.
Basicly i installed a copy of windows 7 ultimate 64 the other day, and doewnloaded the 64bit drivers as my old ones said they wont work. The card i own is the X-Fi XtremeMusic (i think) i bouth it in 2006 at a OEM product from a company who was breaking down computers and selling the component. the old drivers i had worked great.
Anyway to the point, everytime i reboot my pc the creative console options revert to the pre changed state and its as if they dont save when i change the options. the 24bit crystalliser turns off the headphone settings re-apply and the automaticly mute speaker if headphone are detected is ticked again also it puts my speak vol to 30%.
Does anyone have an i dead how i can get around this.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Regards Sean.

  • Creative Console / Volume Panel resets after rest

My issue is that everytime I restart my computer all my settings for the Creative Audio Console reset to default settings. I've uninstalled, used driver sweeper, and reinstalled both my Drivers and the Console and I still get the same issue. Everytime I boot up it will unmute the mic channel (so I can hear myself talking), change my setting "headphone" to "2. speaker" (I use a headset, infact I have never used speakers on this system) enable CMSS-3D (which I always turn off), and change my volume from 35% to 88%.
I've tried everything within the program to try and get my settings to stick and not reset on every single reboot. I've enabled the Headphone detection which didnt help any, still switches my audio to 2. speakers and messes with all my other settings. My roommate has a very similiar PC to mine (he piggy backed mine when I was building it) and he has the same issue, so its either a hardware issue or a creative issue or hopefully over looking something simple.
I have the latest version of Console Launcher (2.60.29) Aug/27/08 And I had the previous version to this one running as well and still encountered the same problem.
    My complete specs are:
Sound Card: Soundblaster X-Fi Fatalty Extreme Gamer
    Headset: Sennheiser PC-350
    Mobo: Nvidia 780i
    Graphics: X 9800GTX
    Processor: Intel Q6600 Quad Core
    RAM: 4GB Dual Channel Corsair
    O/S: Vista Ultimate X64
HDD: 50GB 0,000RPM for O/S and drivers / programs (this is where the console is installed)
    HDD2: 500GB 72,000RPM for Games / Movies

I found a fix for the problem.
Go to start > run > msconfig and disable CTXFIREG and CTXFIHLP from the startup menu. According to process library sites these are non-essential processes and thus far I have had no problems with my sound. I've run several games (BF2, COD5, L4D) and have encountered no problems. Multiple restarts and settings are still as I left them.
I'd say this is your best bet if you have the same problem as me.

  • XFI Titanium high dpc latency after installing creative console launcher

HXFI Titanium high dpc latency after installing creative console launcher=im using windows 7 64 bit sp(rtm) this also happens with normal windows 7 64 bit(without sp).
when only installing the driver for the XFI titanium my dpc latency is between 0-50 with spikes that go to 90.
this also happens when I don't have any drivers installed.(windows high definition default driver)
however when I install the creative console launcher my dpc latency is allways above 00 and most of the time between 00-200 with spikes to +-400.
im using PAX PCIe Titanium ALL OS Driver V3.25, and creative console launcher 2.6.49 beta.
my question is can I use game mode without installing the console launcher?
is there a version of the console launcher that doesn't cause higher dpc latency?

Maybe a bad driver mod. Try Creative own drivers/CD first and see what happens.

  • Creative console crashes on launch - X-FI Fatal1ty / Wi

    Good evening -
To my great distress (as I found it enormously useful for sampling from Youtube, DVDs etc.), Creative console has recently started crashing immediately on launch in Audio Creation mode. I'm using an X-FI Fatalty on WinXP to record and manipulate sound, and also use Wavelab and Soundforge 7 (I make 'old-school' industrial music).
I can still record via the card within Wavelab and run my other music software as normal.
I have updated drivers and also applied the recent Microsoft fix for this sound card from Windows Update. I can't attempt a clean boot at present as the DVD dri've has also died (probably mechanical failure going by the sounds it makes).
    Anyone encountered this before?
    Cheers

N Hrmf... the console lights up, and audio comes out the headphone plug, (only responds when I lower\increase the wave volume) and I can't get the IR reci'ver to work, the controlls on the console doesn't work either.....
Ive tried with and without the 5,25" IO thingy connected to the sound card..

Sorry Photoshop --  Problems solved -- I read the details -- turns out you need to make changes with no files open for the preferences to apply to all files.

    Hello,
We are noticing that if you define Music on hold for the Park service, the call park music on hold reverts to default sound after server reboot. (all systems we've tested do this)
Anyone using park music on hold that can verify one way or the other?

  • Console.war as default web application...

    Hi,
I tried to add the console.war as my default web application for my Admin
server, but when restarting the server it complained with the following
    error:
The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.
    "Exception raised: weblogic.management.configuration.ConfigurationException:

And the server does not start at all - I had to manually update the
config.xml to remove the console.war as a default web application...
Does anybody knows if this is a bug? Does it happens only with the
console.war? or there are any other scenarios that it can happen as well?
    Thanks,
    Marcelo.

It's 6.1 - I want to set up it as default on my Admin server instance, which
is running as a Admin server only... Not critical, but...

BTW, why do you want configure console.war as default webapp?

In order to better troubleshoot, we need additional information. Can you please advise what E-mail provider you are using? Can you advise where and when this has happened most recently? If the issue persists, please contact us while you are in the area affected, as we would need to determine what network you are accessing at the time, along with additional information. You can feel free to call us from a secondary phone at 800/922-0204 or DM me with a secondary contact number (other than your wireless device) so that we can conduct additional troubleshooting.

no no and no. I tried High speed instead of Full speed (how do you know which of them is USB2.0?!, I was sure full speed is the best).
The drivers are the latest and I just reinstalled Open AL (had a crash in Steam's UnrealTournament3, but now the game?works).
And most interesting, no I can not turn on Game mode! I never could. I read that PCI X-Fi boards have those 3 modes of operation, but it seems that X-Fi Surround 5. driver allows only Entertainment mode. I have tried to change this mode to others, but even by messing with driver files it didn't work.
Anyone with X-Fi Surround 5. running Vista 32bit can confirm that their EAX 4.0 is recognized correctly? Maybe you?are able?switch to Game mode?
    So far I?see only?that EAX 4.0 in X-Fi Surround 5. is bull**bleep**.
Except the Xtreme Audio models, all other PCI and PCI-E X-Fi cards with?a DSP?support all 3 modes: Entertainment, Game and Audio Creation.
Xtreme Audio models and USB "cards"?are host/software based. The CPU does all?audio processing.
On Vista, there is a Host OpenAL engine (Sens_oal.dll) that provides EAX support up to 4.0.
    Check if \Windows\System32\Sens_oal.dll exists.

  • Adding a "revert to defaults" button

    jpdk 1,3
I'd like to add a "revert to defaults" button
on my customize page. When I use PortletRendererUtil.renderCustomizeFormHeader(pr, out, null, "action", null, null) Only the 'apply' and 'ok' buttons are rendered. Do I have to do it manually or is there a utility I can use to do this?
    thanks,
    -sancho

You are right - the PDK article "Guidelines for Portlets in Edit Mode" describes such a button, which currently the JPDK doesn't support. Looking at some of the default portlets on a Portal home page, it would seem that the convention is now for this button to be called "Reset to Defaults". I have logged bug 1771249 against the JPDK and bug 1771238 against the articles to sort out these issues.

  • DESPERATE HELP PLS: WinXP, SP3: Creative Console and other elements crashing

LDESPERATE HELP PLS: WinXP, SP3: Creative Console and other elements crashingRHi all. Hoping someone out there can help; I've been going around in circles for far too long on this.
    Exec summary:
WinXP, SP3, Audio finally is working, Creative Console launches but crashes consistently. Diagnostics fails, on-screen could not install.
    System:
    WinXP, SP3
    Story
I had an original X-Fi card that came with my Dell XPS70 3 years ago. Working perfectly, until I upgraded to WinXP, SP3 (from SP2).
BAM - lots of BSODs, always in ha20x2k.sys. Many times, all networking would just stop, and the BSOD would happen when shutting down the computer. Networking would fail 00% everytime I watched any kind of video (news, youtube, whatever).
Couldn't find more current drivers, bought X-Fi ExtremeGamer card from Frys. Could not get this to install off the package CD, new card was not recognized by Windows. Install would always hang on "On-Screen display" (I have a dual monitor system - should that matter?)
Eventually, downloaded more current drivers and console app from the Creative website and got audio working. Console will now launch but the moment I try to change something in the EQ panel, the console crashes, 00% of the time. Other Creative apps (e.g. diagnostics) fail with this error:? "The audio device supported by this application may not be present or may be operating in an unsupported mode..."
I haven't been able to "cleansweep" my system, the link in this (Creative) forum is broken.
REALLY hoping someone can help get this working... Have spent 2 days away from business to try to make this work properly, and am out of things to try.
    Thanks,
    Jerry

I should add - I have NO interest in gaming, just looking for high-end audio...

  • Indesign CS6 printer settings reverting to default

    Hi
We have a problem which has started recently for some students when printing from Indesign CS6. Most of them have print presets which they created months ago for printing to the default printer using secure print, A3, heavyweight paper, bypass tray etc. They were working fine, but now, when they print a document using that preset it just prints on standard paper and normal (not secure) print.
I checked their print presets and in the setup for the printer within the print preset the settings have changed to the default settings. If I delete the preset and create another one any changes I make in the setup / preferences for that printer revert back as soon as I click 'Ok'. A work around I have found is that  when I click 'setup' if I click on any other printer, then click back to the correct (default) printer, then click preferences and make the changes they stick and do not change back to the default settings.
This issue happens without using print presets as well, If you choose file / print and then setup, and you do not click on any other printer and then back again to the correct printer before clicking 'preferences' any changes you make will revert to default as soon as you click 'Ok'
It only seems to be affecting Indesign.
The printer is a Xerox Docucenter C6680, using the PCL 6 driver on a print server. We are also running Papercut.
Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? I have tried trashing the Indesign prefs but this does not seem to help
    Cheers
    Murray

THere appears to be a Postscript diver for this printer. Have you tried that?

  • Default PXE Boot.wim "stuck" and cannot be changed

We would like our default PXE boot.wim to be the x64 boot.wim. Somehow, it has been changed to x86 and it cannot be changed back. I am aware of the method by which config manager chooses which disk to use (last deployed TS to a collection), but despite creating
multiple deployments utilizing the x64 disk, it is still defaulting to the x86 one. We have 2 main collections that TS's are deployed to, and both of them have a most recent deployment using the x64 disk.
Anyone have any ideas what is going on, or where I can look to get this changed?

    Hi,
Do you mean the clients are still trying to boot from the x86 iamge?
You referred that you have deployed task sequence via the iamge. Is the task sequence still bind with the image?
