Creative Coud opens instead of CS6

Hi,
I get that Adobe wants everyone to buy into Creative Cloud. I already own CS6.
Whenever I double click on a .psd file, for example, it prompts CC to launch and wants me to sign up and start trial and all this crap
that I'm not interested in doing. I simply want to double click on a file and have my CS6 launch and open the file.
I have selected CS6 under "get Info / open with" but it will not take. It reverts back to CC.
before anyone suggests it.. yes I could launch CS6 first then open the file, but I'm a little pissed off that
Adobe is trying to force me to do it their way & Purchase yet another iteration of their software.
can anyone help?

Yes, at some point, through some deceptive prompting, CC got downloaded onto my computer, so I have both.

Why Bridge CS5.5 is opened and not CS6 is opened for non admin user?

I have CS5.5 updated to CS6 on my computer but CS5.5 version of Bridge is opened instead of CS6. This happens when I try to open CS6 version of Bridge by using the CS6 icon, selecting CS6 version from the program list of Windows 7 and selecting the CS6 version from file manager. I did a quick check to try other programs and e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator start with CS6 version.
My user account doesn't have the admin rights for the computer. When using on the same PC with admin account Bridge CS6 version is started as expected. Therefore this has something to do with admin rights. Therefore please instruct how to do the set up for user not having administrator rights.

Just to update on the solution on this in case somebody else encounters this issue and searches the discussions for the solution.
The reason for this was that in the Bridge CS5 advanced preferences it was set to start Bridge CS5 at logon automatically. Removing that solved the issue.
My thanks to the Adobe support on pointing this one.

Tried to reinstall everything for a few times, but nothing helps.

When I search for updates the raw converter doesnt get update automaticly. Frustrating, is costing me the whole morning.

I followed your instructions and un-installed CS6. By installing from cd i'll got the message that my serialnumber is invalid. It is the same serial number as shown in my adobe and on the receipt. What to do?

1. I would advise you to please go to
2. Applicatoins>utilities>Adobe Installers
3. Try to find if there is any uninstaller for the CS6.
4. If you find the uninstaller then simply uninstall the application and then reinstall it.

Bridge does not open images in PS CC (or give an option), Instead it opens in PS CS6

Also, I can't set PS CC as a default using Windows 8. PS CC does not show on the list when choosing defaults for file types, etc. When in bridge, images open in PS CS6 and it does not have PS CC available as a choice when I right click and click "open with" (open with is not on the menu anymore.)

I am having the same problem. I've made sure I have Bridge CC open and when I try and open an image, the default is PS CS6, how do I change the default setting to be PS CC? Totally frustrating.

Encore opens instead of Premiere Pro

Hi there.
I'm in a graphic design program and this semester we are expected to use Premiere Pro CS6 throughout various courses and their respective assignments. However, after purchasing the program(s), whenever I've attempted to open Premiere Pro CS6, it opens up Adobe Encore instead - which then proceeds to crash right away. This is increasingly frustrated as many of heavily weighted assignments are going to rely on PP CS6 and time is of the essence. If anyone else has encountered this annoying issue and has found solutions, please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated.

Okay so...I usually just select the program off the list of others I have on my Creative Cloud window and they all have worked except PP CS6. I hadn't even considered going through the start menu (face palm). so I just tried via start menu and it opened perfectly and is functioning fine. Thanks very much for opening my eyes, lol.
Although I still do wonder why Encore opens when I click it off the menu and why PP CS6 only gave me problems.

Can't open EPS with CS6 - sent from someone using CS4

Friend mailed me an .eps file from CS4 and I can't open it on CS6. What's wrong??

Can your friend open the copy from their sent folder in their email application? I ask because it is possible the file was corrupted in the send. If they can open it, how are you opening it? Did you copy the file from the email to your computer instead of trying to open it out of your email app?

How can I open Adobe Bridge CS6 in high resolution on my MacBook Pro Retina display? When I click Get Info, the "Open in Low Resolution" box is marked and locked. How can I unmark this box? I currently run 10.9.1. I can open Adobe Photoshop CS6 in high resolution without any problem. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

There is no such thing. In CS6 only PS itself is Retina compatible. You would have to use CC for full Retina support.

When i try to update creative cloud i get the message that i have another creative cloud open and i have to close it first?

Once i had installed a trial from creative cloud. Now i bought the creative cloud. I want to use it but every time i open creative cloud i first have to update it. When i try to updrate i get an error that i have another creative cloud open on my computer and i first have to close that one. but i don't know how... I hope somebody here can help me! Thanks

IPhone 4 I can't use my Safari app. Every time I try to open it, the LAST app that I had used (and closed out of) opens instead of Safari. Any ideas? Thanks!

Sorry! I didn't realize that a message window opened up, so am not sure if my entire question showed up. I can't use my Safari app at all. Every time I try to open it, the app I used (and closed) previously opens instead. It doesn't matter what app it is, it is just the previous app used. Settings: 4.2.6 (8E200). Model MC676LL. It is possible that there is a problem with the files [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
Delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
* Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).
