Creative Fatality HS-1000 USB sound distortion issue.

I've been having this issue off and on since I got this headset roughly 2 days ago. When I restart my computer the sound is completely corrupted when i get back into windows. It fixed itself when i installed the latest driver and firmware but is once again back after i shut my computer off for the night.
What happens is every sound in windows, music, logon and off, in games and such sound like a distorted helicopter taking off. Absolutely no normal sound comes through except for the annoying distorted helicopter noise. I can't for the life of me figure out the issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. My operating system is Windows XP pro sp3.

Never mind, my problem is fixed. (turns out that the racing wheel causes problems for the headset if the wheel is plugged into any other port except the one built into the MB, which is to say usb ports that are connected to the MB via cable to the usb headers. The headset also didn't like sharing those ports with the wheel either)

  • Sound distortion issue when uploading iMovie

Each time I try to 'Share' a movie I created the sound distorts once it's uploaded.  It's driving me crazy!  I've read other posts re this problem but no resolutions given.  The sound just ends up a bit fuzzy - it's fine until it's uploaded to file or iTunes etc.  Does anyone else know what the problem may be?

Solved it by downloading win 8 drivers for audio from sony support... followed condor's suggestion http://community.sony.com/t5/VAIO-Windows-10/LAPTOP-VAIO-SVT15112CSX-audio-drivers-that-work-with-windows-10/m-p/516334#U516334

  • Fatality HS-1000 USB Headset (No Sound but is detected by PC)

I don't belei've I've ever been so frustrated with a company and their products. This is my second headset that I've bought and both within 2 months of purchase are dead.
I'm running Windows XP 32 bit. The headset is being found by the USB port and the Creative Volume Panel sees that the headset is there. The controller on the head set works yet I get no sound what so ever.
I've updated firmware, I've installed drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled and still have no sound. Same thing happend on my other headset on the same PC.
edit: Upon uninstalling the mouse that I had previously installed the headset now has sound. When I reinstall the mouse the headset fizzles and looses all sound.

    Hello M_Squared,
The settings on the entertainment mode should also be applicable for gaming. Most of the sound settings should be available on the game itself. The rest of your questions can be answered by this link. Under Documents, you can find the alchemy quick start (how to guide) and alchemy FAQ's. Under Lists, you should find the tested games that works with the alchemy software.
    Hope this helps.

  • SB Audigy 2NX USB - Sound distorted and interrupted after format

    Salve,
due to some softwareproblems i had to format my hd, and reinstall my windows.
    some specs first:
win xp prof, sp2, intel p4 2,2 desknote motherboard, sis vga, sis onboard sound
usb devices: ta 33 usb router, wacom intuos 3 and soundblaster audigy 2 nx
the funny thing is - before i formated, the sb worked well, i had no trouble.
then i got my graphic tablet - and it didn?t work properly - the pc chrashed every time i used the tablet. installing sp2 solved the prob, and sb and tablet worked well togehter.
i installed the system again, and first my onboard chips drivers were installed. i can't deaktivate them in the bios - so they are loaded, no matter if you want to or not.
then i connected the sb again, and the sound plays clean - but only on two speakers.
after installing the drivers, the sound was interrupted, or had some distortion.
i tried to deaktivate the onboar chip, but it didn?t solve the problem.
after installing my tablet - the sound got worse, and the mouse cursor often lagged or stucked. so i thought it could be a driver problem, or irq conflict. in installed sp2 again, but this time it did not fix anything.
i tried all i knew - deaktivate acpi, reinstall drivers, cleaning registry, re install and so on. then i calles the tech support - he gave me hints, i already tried, and gave me a alink for the webupdate drivers. i downed and istalled them - but still the same problems. i uninstalled my usb controllers, disconnected all other usb hardware, i even changed through all 4 ports - but the problem stayed. after 3 days i decided to format again - but - tadaaaa -it was useless. i still have the same problem - now one week is over and i?m fed up with this. i need my soundcard for making music, and playing dj sets....and i?m running out of time - so please - if anyone has an idea, i would be very glad.
i found out the distortion depends on cpu usage, but also changing the parameters of the hardwares, soundchip- and blasters accelaration did not help. dxdiag said it'ss all fine
    with my system.
    greetings,
    psycho mantis,
    germany

    hi,
well i could fix the problem.
first i downloaded updates for my board and all the chips on it, and windows sp2 and so on...
but nothin worked. the problem was caused by the ir port. i disabled ir support in the bios, and then it worked fine. there was an interrupt channel conflict. now everything is fine

  • External USB sound device with SPDIF In?

    Hi all,
I would like to know if Creative has any external USB sound cards with a SPDIF interface that works with Windows 7. I have an Extigy, and as I know it, it will not work with anything newer than XP.
I need a USB card with SPDIF input to bridge my Astro b.yond 5. SPDIF audio to my 5. speaker kit. For various reasons I cannot change the existing sound card in the computer.
    Please help.

I don't know that sound card or application software, but the usual reason for this is that somehow you have reverted to the Microsoft wdm drivers rather than the asio ones you need for multi channel use.
This sometimes happens with some usb interfaces if you have connected the interface originally before installing any drivers. Removing any drivers associated with usb audio and then re-installing them might be worth a try.

  • HS 1000 USB with creative x-fi sound card

    Hi there
I've a question for creative: why in your website don't you say that the headset disable any soundcard and sets itself as the default audio device? That's because I've already a creative x-fi soundcard and when i bought this product i expected to make the most of its capability since i have both soundcard and headset of creative. Now what should i do considering that i would get a better sound plugging an headset directly into my soundcard?
    thanks for your replies

___Hello, frustrated!! I empathize with you totally!! I own one Dell and 4 Mac's (for my creative work) including one top of the line MacPro, and I, too, have the 5.1 (and beyond!) sound problem issue. I agree with you that it is terrible that, in my case, after spending $12,000 for this bleeding edge technology, it only comes with stereo capability! When I used my older G-4, I was extremely happy for years with the Revolution 7.1 Surround Sound Card, by a great company called M-Audio. This card worked seamlessly right out of the box.....the software was so easy to use, too. So, naturally I was really shocked and bummed out a few months ago, when I learned from their tech support and sales team there, that no, this card will NOT work on the MacPro.
From the M-Audio website: Re: A_pple Intel Mac Pro & DualCore PowerMac G5 desktop compatibility_
The new Intel based Mac Pro desktop computers, as well as the latest generation DualCore PowerMac G5's, have PCI-Express slots, and not PCI or PCI-X (Like the Delta/Revolution Series cards). Not only are the data rates on PCI-Express different from PCI/PCI-X, but PCI-Express uses serial data transfers versus PCI/PCI-X transferring its data in a parallel fashion. For these reasons, a PCI-Express type motherboard connector (or "slot") is physically different from a PCI or PCI-X type connector. Therefore a PCI-Express adapter will not physically fit in a PCI or PCI-X slot, and vice-versa. This is true regardless of the adapter card's manufacturer.
All of our current USB and FireWire interfaces are compatible with the new Intel Based Mac Pro and late model DualCore PowerMac G5 computers.
    Please use their link: http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=products.family&ID=recording
Of course, I prefer the efficient elegance of an internal card, rather than an external box providing more desktop clutter, but at least this is a solution for us! Best of luck to you!!

  • Is Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX USB sound card compatible with Dell deskt

Im considering buying the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX USB sound card to use with a Dell desktop XPS 40, but recently read a forum message on another page that there was a issue with installing on a Dell Tower but no problems with installing on a laptop
any help is appreciated if there are any compatibility issues with using this sound card on a Dell desktop, Thanks
the main reason I would like to upgrade to this card is so my pc doesnt use the integrated audio which Id like better quality performance with a sound card and also dont want to install a internal card on the system

    joaolfb,
Audigy 2 NX will need to be connected with the power adaptor inorder to run. USB will not be enough to sustain the power consumption of the sound card.

  • Output sound distortion when USB Mic Connected

    Hi everyone,
Really appreciate anyone’s help on this sound distortion problem.
I have been using the new 2014 iMac 27' for last 8 Months, bought Brand New, and recently updated to Yosemite. Everything worked fine including recording, until this update.
I'm using Blue Yeti USB Mic for recording, and few days after the update I was trying to record in GarageBand and the output sound (via headphone connected to USB MIc) started to distort and then suddenly dropped the bitrate/ sound and I could only hear some clicks. I reinstalled the GargeBand, still its the same distortion happens. The sound gets back to normal, only for few seconds, after I unplug the USB cable from the Mic device. And I tried changing the bit rate and again sounds starts to drop after few sec. This happens only when I connect the Blue Yeti USB Mic and sound output from the Mic itself. Same thing happens with iTunes as well. Output sound from Internal mic and speakers are working fine as normal.
I tried connecting the USB Mic to my Windows laptop and its working fine with the Cubase 5 without any problem. So the problem is with the output sound, when external Mic connected.
I don’t know the solution for this. Have checked on every single blog/ thread, sill couldn’t find the answer I’m looking for, to fix this.
It would be great if you have any kind of a solution for the same.

Nope. The larger buffer didn't work. What did work was running a cord out of the 1/4-inch jack from the direct box to a 1/4-to-1/8-inch adapter and then into the mic/line-in jack on my computer. I set GarageBand to use the built-in line-in and had no static problems. It's a stopgap until this gets fixed.

  • Xmod: sound distortion on USB 2.0

    Next problem with Xmod,
there are extreme sound distortions if connected via USB 2.0 hub. Direct connection works. Already tried two different hubs, same procedure ...
great product, solve one problem, get the next for free ....

Ok, bringing this back from the dead beacuse the problem has suddenly returned after "magically" fixing it's self for the last few months.  Everything seems to be exactly back how it was before, the usb card works, the drive works, they just don't quite work together.

  • Horrible Sound Distortion with Creative HS-950

Hi, I recently bought the HS-950 USB Gaming headset. About 4 hours into gaming, I experienced an unpleasant sound distortion that made everyone on Vent Sound slowed down. I unpluuged my headset and a few hours later I had the same problem. After reading through the forums I have gathered this is a Major problem. But is there a Fix?
I am running Vista 32bit and using Realtek HD sound.
    Thanks,
    Vortexx.

I'm having the same problem .. horrible sound quality (headset OR headphone mode) on a MacBook Pro with built-in Bluetooth. I've got the latest & greatest update of Leopard too.
Headset works great with my cell phone (no distortion).
Will keep looking. Someone please post if they see a solution.
Here's one possibility, although it says it is for Tiger and requires some command-line manipulation (not bad, but I don't expect to have to do this kind of thing on OSX):

  • Latency issue causing sound distortion

I have explored a number of posts and discovered that my relatively frequent sound distortion matches a latency problem occurring every 15 secs, give or take a sec, as high as 29000us, but usually about 20000us.
I have disabled the common things in device manager one by one without change in latency.
I couldn't see a TV tuner in Device Manager, but uninstalled software driver without any change.

I have finally had this problem resolved by HP. Their initial option was to ask me to re-install from the image on the hard drive, which got rid of a lot of marketing software initially installed when sold, but it had no effect on the sound/latency issue
I initially discovered that the ACPI-composite battery driver in Device Manager seemed to cause the every 15sec 20000us latency spike, because when I disabled this, the problem disappeared. However this driver was not what was fixed to resolve the problem.
HP phone care finally rang me back with their solution, and it was as follows (and didn't involve the battery ACPI-composite driver). Despite using the HP support assistant, neither of these changes was being flagged.
    1. I was told to go to the HP website and download a recently uploaded BIOS update for my notebook - all it seemed to say it fixed was a graphics issue. This bios update in fact immediately solved the problem, though there were still some latency spikes up to 8000us without any audio effect, and without there being any regularity of appearance.
    2. I was also told to download the audio driver which had recently been uploaded (since I first noted my problem). This resulted in latency spikes never exceeding 2000us (and usually not exceeding 600us
I find it interesting that the support assistant did not recommend these updates, and the audio driver was still being flagged as up to date when specifically tested, despite an apparently better one being available.

  • USB sound card sound drop outs and glitches

Hi there, I have been using a Lexicon Omega USB sound card with my Macbook Pro unibody and have been experiencing a failure when running two programs that try to output sound.
e.g. iTunes will be constantly playing music and another program such as safari pings me when I have a Facebook chat message or if there is a sound when a file has finished copying or i try to play a youtube video at the same time or I play a track in spotify, the sound card freaks out and makes clipped distorted noises then stops outputting sound to the amp and seems to stop receiving a USB signal.
The curious thing is that after reconnecting the usb cable, all is fine again and both programs WILL play simultaneously, so it should be possible?
This is really starting to drive me a bit mad as I cant play music and chat online at the same time without the sound crashing.
I presume it has something to do with what program is assigned to the core audio driver and another program confuses it, like when running Logic Pro which seems to take over the whole sound card for its functions and won't share.
Perhaps there is something in OS X I could fix or change to get round this or perhaps its just the sound card not working properly and not the fault of OS X.
Would be grateful for any advice or if anyone else has this issue.
    Harvey

Be absolutely certain that all of your 3rd party software is fully compatible with Snow Leopard - visit the manufs. sites for updates & info until you're current, etc.

  • USB Sound Blaster MP3+ and Vi

My USB Sound Blaster MP3+ performs fantastically using the nati've drivers on Win2K and WinXP.
On Vista, however, there is a chirpy/buzzy distortion piggybacking on any signal passed through the A-to-D (line in, specifically). I've tried two different Vista PC, different powered USB hubs, and with and without the Creative USB Series Windows Vista Driver .0.0002 to no benefit.
I'm an engineer and a programmer, but not a Windows programmer. Can somebody tell me why this nearly generic USB Audio interface doesn't work with Vista I have other USB Audio devices that work fine with the nati've drivers on Vista.

Is there anyone with experience with this sound card, recording and Vista?

  • Are USB audio interface issues on iMac Haswell resolved?

    HI,
i just ordered a 27 inch iMac, maxed out with a 1TB SSD.
I noticed the imac doesn't have an audio in jack and figured i'd shop for a good USB Audio Interface.
But then i came across all these USB audio interface issues on the new iMac.
This is incredible to me because iMacs are often used by creative people and lots of musicians.
For me audio is VERY important. I record music and i record sound for animation and video.
Apple thus far seemed to be avoiding the topics and issues at hand.
Are the USB audio issues resolved? What was resolved? What was the problem (Maverick? Fusion Drive)?
Is it wise to choose for a Thunderbolt Interface? Which one?
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
Especcialy since it seems such a wide spread problem.
    Thanx

doubt it would be a general issue
usb is a universal serial bus it always require a driver for anything
and the driver of one external audio device would act different then the driver from another external audio device
so it would be very unlikely that an external audio card using a cirrus logic audio chip would cause the same issues with the imac as one with a realtek or soundblaster audio chip
not that there could not be issues with all of them but not likely that they would suffer from the same issue
