Creative I-Trigue L3800 Sound Only Coming From Subwoofer

Hey all.
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to why the sound is only coming through the subwoofer on a set of these speakers I have been using.
Checked so far:
Audio Cable connecting PC to Speaker system.
Sound settings in Windows 7 (balance etc).
Unplugged all speakers/control thingy etc and plugged back in.
I am certain the problem is somewhere inside the subwoofer itself as I was watching something the night before they seemed to 'die'. I literally turned the PC back on this morning to watch something and the sound is now only coming from the subwoofer. I've taken the PCB out of the subwoofer to look for any obvious signs of damage but I'm not an electrician or a speaker expert. The only thing I can see is a slow-blow fuse which looks fine, and I'm guessing that if this were the culprit there would be no sound whatsoever.
Any ideas? Obviously these are an old set of speakers but if there are any diagnostics I can do to perhaps find the cause and fix it, any help would be greatly appreciated as I currently have no decent device to play sound through.
Thanks in advance.

mattbell_5,
Have you try using headphone on the laptop headphone jack and make sure that's working. If possible try plugging the speaker to another audio device like a MP3 player headphone jack and see whether the speaker is working properly.

the sound on my dv7 is only comming from the subwoofer and the mute button by the volume control is stuck on red but the volume its self is not muted

Try Uninstalling/Reinstalling the Driver for the Audio in the device manager.
Click Start - Right Click Computer, Click Properties.
Click Device Manager on the left.
Scroll Down to Sound, Video and Game Controlers. Click the plus-sign beside that.
Right click on the two drivers you should see there, then click uninstall. (You'll have to do each of them individually.)
Click "OK". (Do not check the check box.)
When they're both gone, restart the NB.
They should automatically re-install on re-start.
Re-start the machine a second time, try the sound again.

  • Sound only coming from left speaker.

I recorded live music last night from a soundboard in a music hall. The new belkin tunetalk pro on my ipod g5 worked really well and was easy to use. Problem is I did not have the right kinda hookups. I need two 1/4 plugs that converted to one 1/8 mini jack. so i had one 1/4 to 1/8 mini and they gave me a great sounding feed but it's only on the left as in the left ear. i downloaded to to itunes. actually it did it as soon as i pluged the ipod in. i did nothing. the sound guys said i should be able to split to right and left with something like garageband software. i impoted into GB and now i still have the great sound coming out of my left speaker and nothing on the right unless i choose mono 1 or mono 2.
my question is how do i split this and make the recording come out of both speakers? the file in garageband has 2 wave zigzag lines. one on top of the other. i'm sure there's a way but so far i've not found an easy fix on apple garageband support groups but i've not asked either. tonight i will have the right connections so will see how well a rock show records. last nights was an acoustic show with a guitar and vocal mic

You can't really make a stereo file from a mono recording.
Stereo needs two mic/2 channels in the recording phase. The best you can do is set the track to mono so it comes from both speakers, or create fake stereo by using two tracks and offsetting one of them slightly and panning each track to the side some. It won't be stereo, there will be no center, just Left and right

  • Sound only coming from one speaker

My son had an iPod Touch 4.  One day, one channel stopped working.  I hooked his earbuds up to my iPhone and both speakers worked.  We hooked different earbuds up to his iPod Touch 4 and  only one speaker played so we figured the iPod jack had gone bad.
Today, he won a brand new iPod Touch 5 from a contest at our church.  He sets everything up, syncs up with iCloud and only one speaker is working.  This is using the brand new earbuds that came with the iPod Touch 5.  I call Target, they say to come in to exchange it.  We return the iTouch 5 and get another brand new one.
On the way home, he begins to setup the iTouch 5 and when he slid the unlock slider, he heard the "click" in both earbuds so we thought everything was great.  We get home, he syncs up with iCloud and low and behold, only one earbud is working.  I plug my Klipsch earbuds into the new iTouch 5 and only one earbud is working.
What in the heck is going on?  Apparently this has nothing to do with his device, but something within iCloud or iTunes?  Even stranger thing is it only plays one speaker even with Youtube, Video Chat and Netflix.
I can "barely" hear music coming out of the speaker that is not working.  It's almost like the audio is panned or faded to one channel.
Any suggestions?  What would cause one audio channel to stop working when he syncs up to his account?
Thanks in advance for your help.

You are pushing the headphones all the way in, or you have a case that is preventing you from doing so. The plastic on the headset jack should be flush with the body of the Touch.

  • Sound only coming from one speaker on Macbook Pro Retina

I recently discovered, due to the lack of saxaphone solo's while listening to DMB, that one side of my speakers doesn't work. No sound comes from the right speaker, resulting in loss basically half of a song. The left side works fine, but zero sound comes from the right. Suggestions?

  • Sound only playing from left

I thought my earbuds were broken because no sound was coming from the right side -- but now I realize that no sound comes from one of the speakers on my iphone 4 itself, either -- any advice on how to fix this?

The earbuds being busted is quite possible. I tried my Sony Ericcson X10's set of speaker earphones with my iPhone 4 when I upgraded. The things were decent with calls, but wouldn't play the main voice on iPod songs, just the background music. I changed to another set of speaker earphones and it worked fine.

  • Sound is coming from the ear-piece and its really really low

    Title pretty much says it.
My iPhone is acting really weird ever since this morning, sound isnt coming from the bottom speakers anymore but instead from the ear-piece and its really low.
I tried resetting the phone with holding down the home and sleep button at the same time but its still the same.
    Anyone else having this problem?

Connect the headset to a computer or stereo or anything else with 3,5mm minijcack to see if the headset is ok of they work there then your headset is defect if not your phone is the problem

  • Sound not coming from imac

I am facing a very strange problem with my Imac. When i am pressing the volume keys on keyboard it is showing muted sign on the screen. No sound is coming from the speakers. Sometimes the muted sign automatically goes and also suddenly display on the screen. But when i am connecting a external headphone sound is coming. So is this a speaker problem or keyboard or any other hardware problem. What is the solution ?

Your audio settings may have been changed.
Open Audio MIDI Setup (/Applications/Utilities/), then check the Audio Output setting.
Change the Audio Output setting to 44100.0 Hz.
    Quit Audio MIDI Setup.

  • No sound is coming from the speakers.

I have a Mac Mini.   All of a sudden my speakers, which have been working for over a year quit. I and bought another set - same issue. I can hear the sound coming from the hard drive.  I've looked at the sound settings but I'm not quite that technical.  Can somebody help?

If only it were that easy, but thanks!

  • Sound not coming from blth speakers

My 3g does not have stereo sound coming from both speakers. If I cover the left speaker when playing an i-tune, there is absolutely no sound coming from the right speaker. Also , my ringtone and speaker phone doesn't seem as lound as it should be, probably related to the above problem. When I use the earpieces the stereo sound is perfect. Does anyone know if this is the case with their phone? I'd like to know before I take it in. Thanks.

The iPhone 3G only has one speaker, the right side is a microphone.

  • Audio problem; can't seem to control where the sound is coming from!

    Good day!
I am currently trying to set up a VERY basic "two camera shoot" using my built in iSight, and a Sony DCR-TRV315 Digital-8 w/FireWire camcorder.
(I know, I know; I'm breaking all sorts of rules using such unmatched cameras. I'm a terrible videographer.)
I'm NOT capturing from tape, however. I'm just using the lens of it to get a different shot. By just plugging it in, iMovie recognizes it, just as it would a FireWire webcam, and allows me to capture straight to the hard drive.
To record audio, I'm using a Griffin iMic (USB preamp) with a Sony lavaliere mic.
I have, of course, selected the iMic as the device for sound input in Sound Preferences.
When I set the input camera to the built in iSight, the iMic kicks in and the lavaliere works like a dream. However; when I switch to the Sony camera, the iMic seems to get overridden, and the Sony camera's built-in mic kicks in! And the Sony camera isn't even IN the "choose a device for sound input" box in Sound Preferences!
Is there any way to record JUST the video from the Sony DCR-TRV315, and keep the audio coming in from the iMic? I can't seem to find an audio preference that would control this, like you'd find in Garageband for example. This is a big problem. The look of the video changes enough between shots; I can't have the sound changing with it!
    Thanks for any help!

    Thanks everyone.
Unfortunately, I think that M. Dubose is correct; for some reason, it doesn't want to seem to split up the FireWire input.
The real kicker is that, by using the Griffin iMic along with the built-in iSight, I'm ALREADY getting sound and video from two separate sources. It just doesn't want to let me split this FireWire signal like it will the iSight's video signal/built in microphone.
If it wasn't for this one thing, the input toggle could work quite effectively as a basic switcher. Hopefully, in future iMovie builds, the need for an independent iMovie Sound Prefs will be addressed, as that'd likely take care for this whole thing.
The other issue is that the camera I'm using isn't true DV; it's Sony's proprietary Digital 8 format, which unfortunately, ain't too hot for image quality. That's why I'm hesitant to record to the tape and import. However, the lens and the FireWire port are still very valid, so by recording directly to the hard drive, it should have been fine for my needs.
Also; the idea of THAT much precise editing in a single-channel software just makes my head spin. Switching inputs between shots would have been so much easier. Ah well. iMovie is a good program otherwise; I guess you just can't expect the world from free software, eh?
I'll probably test it with a buddy's FireWire camcorder to make absolutely sure that it isn't just some freaky incompatibility keeping me from selecting the audio in of my choice. But I can't say that I'm too optimistic.
    Thanks again, everyone!
