Hey budd the SoundBlaster Live 5.1 is a great sound card for what you want but I can't make that desicion but I can help you make it by telling you 2 things The Live 5.1 is a grate card but some of these new sound systems don't like some of the older cards and cause some of the channels to hiss and diffrent things so if you have a sound system that was made near the making of the Live 5.1 then the card shouldn't have any problems with the sound system.
blaster audigy LS on the other hand people are telling me this card is the shiznick hehe... I mean if I had a choice over prices and cards on detail in sound I would schoose the blaster audigy LS just because it's compatible with new sound systems, and grate in sound for DVD and Music and of course games hehe.
Ither choice you make will be good but like I said you will have to take chances on your sound system if you get the live 5.1 card .
I do hope this is what you were looking for also please update your drivers for the new card ounce you get it and also it would be good to update the bios.
Good Luck

  • Creative Inspire 5200 - Bass crackle

    Hi,
    I have creative inspire 5200 connected to Philips DVD Player. The combination works fine with less bass level. When i increase the bass level, i am experiencing crackle in subwoofer where as satellite speaker works fine(no distortion in sound). The distortion is not continuous, it comes and goes off(once in while). Please let me know the solution for this.
    Regards

    (Re: Creative Inspire 5200 - Bass crackle, abhinandan_gs,
    I suspect you're just overdriving the subwoofer input, and when you have an LFE signal, you're experiencing digital clipping.
    CL speakers are designed to accept an LFE-level signal which is 10dB softer than standard line-level. The DVD player is putting out line-level, and then the speakers are amplifying it +10db further, which puts it out of balance with the others. To test this, disconnect the subwoofer cable and see if the crackle goes away. I expect you will still have bass coming from the subwoofer, because the normal bass is in the non-LFE channels, and the speaker crossover will redirect that to the subwoofer, but I don't know what kind of bass management the DVD player might also do. If you think that's the problem, the next thing to do is to lower the subwoofer output 0dB before it reaches the speaker input. If you can't do that with the DVD player's controls, we can go into how to add a simple volume control to the subwoofer cable connection.

  • Creative Decoder DDTS-100 with Creative Inspire 5200

    Hi Guys,
    Basically I wana hook up my PC ,XBOX and TV onto the Creative Inspire 5200.
    I found out a couple of options , one of them is Creative DDTS-00.
    Can anybody tell me if they are using this device , how good is it compared to a decoder amp by YAMAHA or SONY.
    Which is a preferable solution ?
    Thanx in advance.
    Visu.

    DudeRighteous,
    Have you tried adjusting the levels for the center down and the other speakers up? On the main volume knob press the select button and it will select a specific speaker set to adjust the volume for. Try changing these settings and see if that helps.

  • Safety of the power supply of Creative Inspire 5200

    The power specifications of the AC adapter of Creative Inspire 5200 shows 12V 4.2A. When I checked with multimeter it shows 12V only in the AC side of the multimeter. My younger son has the habit of pulling the power cord from the sub woofer and touching the pin of that adapter. Is it safe. I want to know whether The actual volatage should be shown in AC or DC in multimeter.

    Hello,
    i think you have your output-signal not in the loop. So you get only the start-value (0 Volt) and the end-value (25 Volt).
    Here you have an example. You have to change the hardware-settings, but you can use the loop.

I am useing windows xp and I can't find the CMSS anywhere includeing EAX. How do i fix this problem? All I wan't are these speakers to work right.
    cypres
    P.S. if i plug the green cord into the back of the cpu where the sound card isn't I can get two of the speakers to work.PLEASE HELP!!!

  • Creative Inspire 5200 - Rear speakers echoing effect

    The front 3 speakers are fine - sound is normal, crisp and clear. But the 2 rear speakers have sorta fuzzy echoing thing going on... it's kinda hard to describe. And I just want to know is this normal... Maybe creating a surroudn sound illusion thing... ?

    Hey budd would you try a bios update and see if that don't help all you need to do is visit the computer companys website if it's a brand computer and look for there support page then downloads and bios updates but if you built the computer or some one else did then get the motherboard model from them or google search for software that can find the model and junk like that and see if you can get that bios upfated and after you update it preset the bios to defaults then try the sound again and see if that don't make a diffrence?
    You just may have to get a new soundcard as well for the sytem to work with the card. I hear a lot about them 5.1 cards having problems with some of these new suround systems and it seems to be a incompatibility isue but thats up to you I mean if you wanted to try you could hook the speakers to another computer and see if you get better luck and if so you know it's the card
    Good Luck and sorry if this is not what kind of news you were looking for but this is all that I can come up with

  • Problems with my Creative Inspire 5300 speakers

    Okay, the all used to work fine. When playing anything through windows media player, winamp, or anything else for that matter, all I get is sound from the rear speakers and the subwoofer. I have it set for 5.1 surround, so that's not the problem. When I go to the creative volume control and do the sound test, all the speakers seems to be working fine, except the only one that doesn't make sound in the test is the rear right speaker. But when listening to music or watching anything through windows media, the sub and rear left and right work fine, but no front or center.
    Any help?

    Do you have an X-Fi?
    There is some sort of bug in the drivers of the X-Fi which causes the speaker channels to go haywire. It happened to me on two different PCs with two different X-Fis and two different types of speaker systems, one a home theatre system and another a set of PC speakers.
    Fiddling with the speaker test in the THX console and the speaker settings applet fixed it. I didn't have to mess with the plugs.
    However 'tis been working fine since then.

  • No power to my Creative Inspire T6100 speakers.

    I received my new speakers today and i was eagerly anticipating listening to them. I plugged them all in to the subwoofer and shoved the AC lead in to notice that there was no light on the power/volume speaker. I have tried a few things but have now ran out of ideas. Should i send them back? last thing i wanted when they arrived this morning. Any help is greatly appreciated

    Hi,
    I ealier encountered your message in hope that there might be a reply, as i had the identical problem. I continuaslly tried many methods to try get the blue light on the speaker to come on, however in the end it was due to the connection between the main spaeaker and sub. Have a close look at the pins to ensure they're not bent, and fiddle with the connection, with a bit of luck mine suddenly appeared and i was rock and rolling. Im sorry if this doesn't work for you, but you could also check the transformer is warm to check the adaptor is working. Once your in, control panel, sound, advances setting and select 5.1 surround sound.

  • How to connect my Inspire 5200 5.1 Speakers to my XBOX? Pls Help!!!

    Dear all,
    I am in need of dire assistance to connect my Creative Inspire 5200 5.1 Speakers to my XBOX. If possible, I would like to maintain the full 5.1 functionality when watching my movies and playing games (that support 5.1 sound).
    What other cables, adaptors, connectors do I need? Pls help... I am really not experienced with TV electronics, wires and stuff.

    Ok, I did a search & found a post by NsOmNiA930 :
    >>>
    Or, you could make a custom analog adapter and get fake 5.1.You'll need 2 RCA couplers (or a coupler with 4 RCA Female jacks), a dual RCA to single 1/8 mini jack adapter, a single 1/8 female - 2 /8 male adapter, 2 /8 couplers, and a headphone splitter. It should look like this:RCA from Xbox Dual RCA CouplerRCA to 1/8" adapter(1)Female to (2)Male Adapter(2) 1/8" Coupler on Male ends of previous adapterHeadphone splitter on one of the couplersIMPORTANT! BACK MUST BE BY ITSELF ON THE CORRECT /8" END! CENTER AND FRONT SHOULD BE ON THE HEADPHONE ADAPTER! IN ORDER TO FIND THE CORRECT CHANNEL, DO A 5.1 TEST ON YOUR SPEAKERS AND CONFIGURE APPROPRIATELY!
    >>>
    Ok, can some kind soul translate that into English? What are all these components(adapter, coupler, headphone jack, 1/8?) What do they look like?

  • How to get Realtek HD Audio to work with Creative Inspire 5.1 5200?

    Hi,
    I have a problem with correctly setting the Realtek HD Audio with my Creative Inspire 5200 5.1 speaker set. I don't get any sound on all of them when test button is clicked, only surround speakers work. They were working on my old PC. I did a search on this forum and Internet, but could not find any solution to this specific problem.
    Setting:
    * MSI drivers: 6.0.1.6267, directx 11, ALC 892
    * Speakers set to default audio device
    * Plugged in 3 jacks, colors matching (3 in a row - black:rear, orange: center/subwoofer, green:side speakers)
    * On Realtek HD Audio Manager: Speaker configuration: 5.1 Speaker; Optional spakers: center, subwoofer, rear pair checked; full range speakers: front left and right and surround speakers checked; speaker fill/swap/bass management disabled.
    What I get:
    * left surround clicked: OK
    * right surround clicked: OK
    * No sound from others
    Tests:
    * Checked not muted
    * Checked volume control, not set to zero
    * Rechecked cables from MB to Creative Subwoofer
    * Rechecked cables from Creative Subwoofer to speakers
    * Checked other spaker configuration settings:
    - Stereo : no sound
    - Quadro: only surround spakers OK
    - 7.1: surround spakers OK + left 2nd surround sound comes from right front speaker
    Any directions are very much appreciated
    Cheers
    Bülent

    I get something very similar with my Logitech 5.1 setup. However, I'm using a Creative Pro sound card. Some reminders for you. Remember that everyday normal sound is not encoded DD 5.1, i.e. Windows prompts, MP3, etc. 2 channel left and right stereo sound only nets 2 speakers even though you have 5.1. Unless you've set the sound card, or speaker controler to convert normal 2 channel left and right stereo to DD 5.1 you will only hear 2 speakers. It takes software that's dolby digital encoded to bring all 5.1 speakers to life. For example for every day computer sound my logitch speaker controller is set to "stereo x 2.1". With this setting the contoller sends 2 channel stereo to the front 2 speakers as well as rear 2 speakers plus the sub woofer. My center channel stays quiet until I change the controller effect to DD 5.1. I would change the speaker controller to DD 5.1 if I were to watch a DD 5.1 encoded DVD movie, or play a DD 5.1 encoded game. Keep in mind unless the software is encoded DD 5.1 anything you hear through all 5.1 speakers is SIMULATED! IMO the stereo x 2.1 sounds MUCH better than simulated DD 5.1.
    Thank you for your answer, but I couldn't go so far yet I know some about sound and sound setups as I'm working in this area, namely video editing, sound processing, montage etc.
    The problem is at "test button" level, somehow the mobo cannot drive the correct lines :(

  • Voltage question for Inspire 5200 5.1 Speakers

    Hi, I'm new to the forum, so I'm not sure if this question has been answered in the past, but...
    I just moved back States-side after living in Pakistan for about 6 months, and I brought my Pakistan-bought Inspire 5200 speakers. I don't know if I should buy a voltage converter or whatever.
    On the AC adaptor, it says "PRL. :230V~50Hz 320 mA... SEC. : 2V ~ 4.2A". I read up a little on this stuff, and, unless I'm mistaken, in Pakistan, the voltage is 220V and 50Hz, while in the US, its 110V and 60Hz.
    Is it safe to use the speakers here WITHOUT a voltage converter or a step-down transformer?
    If it isn't safe, then what specific things do I need to pick up from Radioshack to make sure my speakers work and don't short-circuit or fry?
    Thanks.

    If you use the right step down transformer than it's perfectly safe. The problem is, step down transformer worsen the sound a lot unless you use the very expensi've one. But if you can't hear the different than it's good then, trust your own ear anyway. I think the best way is to change the adaptor.

  • Which speaker system is better: Inspire 5200 or 5300?

    Hi,
    I'm just about to :smileyindifferent: buy new Creative speaker systems. Unfortunately, in my country and city options are scarce. Only few models are available and I am trying to get a good, decent sound, with good bass for bassy songs (i.e. dance, hip-hop), and good sound in general for PC-based games and DVDs.
    I am given two choices: Creative Inspire 5200 and 5300. The big question: which one is better? I supposed that since 5300 is a bigger number than 5200, the 5300s should be better; but I may be wrong (e.g. the total RMS power of the 5200s is slightly higher than the 5300s!), so... somebody can give me a piece of advice on this?
    I am willing to spend as much as USD$50.00 on my new speakers... so if someone has better speakers in mind for that price, I'm open to suggestions. With luck, I can give them a try.
    Regards.

    Logic does not run on Windows computers anymore, only on Apple Hardware.

How can i solve this issue?

  • Connecting Inspire 5200 to X-Fi Xtreme Noteb

    Hi,?
    I have a set of creative Inspire 5200 5. speaker and I want to connect them to my notebook with the X-Fi Xtreme Notebook card.
    Before buying the card, I want to make sure I can connect the speaker to the speaker docking module and I also want to know if I can connect my Xbox 360 optical cable to the card to have a 5. sound with the speaker.
    If anyone know if this will work or know a better way to connect all of this please let me know.
    Thx.

    Lazy to search? It's been here (and there) 'bout thousand times already so it shouldn't be hard to find...
    ?....actually no,i thought my post clearly stated that i had seen conflicting posts and diagrams with regards to which was the right way to conenct the headers to the pins,and i was just looking for clarification. I apologise if i wasent clear in enough in this. Anyway,thankyou for taking yor time to respond and i will look into the link you gave me and see if its a good solution. Incidenatlly,another thought occured to me this morning.As i have the t7900 wired remote sat on my desk its entirely possible to run a?3.5mm male/female jack extension from the mic input of my x-fi card and place it next to my wired remote,having the mic jack of headset in this extension,and the headphones jack in the wired remote input.....is this a viable solution,and would this not compromise quality?again ty for your time. sc_
