Creative Inspire 6.1 6600 Speakers

I have Creative Inspire 6.1 6600 speakers. The "Wired Volume / Base Control with Power Switch and Headphone Jack" is malfunctioning. In fact, when I turn the volume control on, the green LED on top does not illuminate. And because of this bad control, I do not have sound. Can anyone tell me how and where I can replace this control? Your assistance is appreciated. Thanks very much.
Charles

I'm also having the exact same problem, and so is a friend who has the same speaker/soundcard setup. Any help is appreciated!

  • Creative Inspire 6.1 6600 Sound Problem

I have a Creative Audigy Audio Processor (WDM) (Audigy 2) and the speakers are Creative Inspire 6.1 6600. The sound goes down when the selector of volumen is between 3 and 4. I need to increase the volume to make it sound again, but it goes down again. What`s going on?

Does this problem only occur in certain programs? Because I have a similar problem with my sound suddenly dropping without warning. But it only happens when I'm playing music in Windows Media Player. If it does have something to do with the media player then I suspect it could be the "WOW effects plugin." I hope this helps, or at least narrows down your problem.

  • Creative Inspire T6100 5.1 Speakers problem

Hello. I have Creative Inspire T6100 5.1 Speakers with SB Audigy Live! 24-bit installed Sound Card (it supports up to 7.1 speakers). Also I have Stereo Surround CMSS 3D settings (EAX)enabled. However when I'm listening to music or playing games my Rear Left speaker makes no sound. Before I had problem that Rear Right wasn't working (however rear left and right sound was on rear left speaker), but after replugging Rear Left doesn't work. Any ideas what might be the problem?
    Thanks for reading...
EDIT:: I tried changing Rear Left and Rear Right speakers with each other in Subwoofer (where it connects) and Rear Left is working properly.

Hi all do you have any idea to solve my problem?
Currently, I'm using the P5800. My problem is sub can't working. I fix together with SB24Bit External sound card.Previously is working. I'm very proud with the sound, after I decrease the master volume and bass level volume my sub suddenly quit.what happened actually?
-Is that mean I need to change the sub speaker or the coil inside the magnet core is burned?
-or maybe my component circuit like ic,capacitor, diode burned?
If I plug n unplug the power to the sub,I can heard that 'bump'. Is that mean my circuit in good condition or maybe the charge and discharge for capacitor?
    Please answer me...
    Thank You

  • Creative Inspire 4.1 4400 speakers

Hi, I just bought a new set of creative inspire 4.1 4400 speakers. I haven't got a 5.1 sound card. Can I just use it as a 2.1 instead, i.e. don't connect the other 2 rear speakers?

Yup, that will work fine. Make sure you unplug the input at the speakers too (so only one input lead is connected).
You could also use a 3.5mm headphone splitter at the pc side so the front sounds come from the rear too (and put the rear speakers next to the front speakers?).

    thm_05,
If you need a transformer to use a power supply from a different country, you'd really need to speak to an electrical store in your area to see if they can supply you with one. We don't make or supply any of these.

  • Creative Inspire 6.1 6600 Controller

Hey there, i wasnt sure where to ask this question, so i do appologise in advance.
Recently, my speakers start encountering problems, and finally the sound completely stopped working - and this was due to the volume controller (I own the Creative Inpsire 6.1 6600).
As i know i wont get warranty, nor do i intend to try and recieve it as i've had these speakers for a fair long time and dont have any receipts etc. I was just wondering if anyone on the forums have the remote spare, or do you have any tips and tricks that might help? Ive opened it and made sure it was cliking and the swtich was hiting the and connecting properly inside.
I have searched online numerous times for second hand controllers, but have had no luck.
    Thank you very much.

  • Creative Inspire T7700 - Only frotn speakers and sub work?

I recently bought a new Dell Vostro 400 PC with a 7.1 surround sound soundcard. I decided to also buy the Creative Inspire T7700 surround sound system.
I have got it all set up, and when I run the sound demo on every individual speaker, they each sound on their own, however when playing games, listening to songs or watching movies, only the subwoofer and two front speakers make a sound.
Please can someone advise? Should I buy a creative sound card too?

    Fri3ndly,
Most sounds that you will play within windows are stereo. This means that they are encoded with left and right signals only. Typically only DVD's and some games support 5.1 output. If you are getting a Creative sound card, you might want to consider the CMSS feature that will allow you to upmix stereo channels to virtual surround.

  • Please Help! Creative Inspire 6.1 6600

i've had this speaker system for quite some time, but now my subwoofer doesn't work. i've done the noise/channel test through thx and creative and they both give me the same results. all 6 speakers work, but the subwoofer doesn't. so i attempted in the callibration. all went good until the bass/subwoofer section, the sound went jumpy and squeled so loudly. i've checked all wires, but still no results. still doesn't work.
if this could relate to the sound card, well the current sound card i'm using is SB Audigy 2 ZS.
    thx for ur help

Just a piece of advice.. Never buy creative speakers. I have 2 friends who had their creative speakers damaged in month. And my 6.1 6600 damaged in 6 months time, (I didn't use it for 3 months in the middle). In my case, the speakers start to produce weird sound, and sometimes there's signal going through, sometimes there no signal.
Creative produce good sound cards, but not speakers.. although I do have a lil problem with the soundcard at the moment for the crackle, pop sound during playback of songs when computer is under high load, but i believed it can be fixed with a new driver/software.
I would recommend you Logitect speakers.(logitech has strong bass) some people prefer altec lansing because it has has clear/crisp sound but I think that's only higher treble that's all.
You can have very clear voice on the logitech too just by adjusting the treble level on your audigy2 zs.
I am now using Logitech z5300e and its heaps stronger than 6.1 6600. I would say 6600 is a failure, there isn't much power.. weak sound..you can't enjoy music or movie with that set of speakers
Since you have a good soundcard, I would think that you do enjoy good quality music and movie. To achieve that, I think you would need to change your speakers. Go for z5300 or If you just got that extra money, get Logitech Z5500..
Well, That's just my advice. Good Luck

  • Creative Inspire GD580 5.1 speakers

Im thinking about buying these speakers for use with my xbox 360. But i am unsure how exactly to connect the xbox 360 to the speaker system. At the minute i have my xbox 360 connected to my HDTV through a VGA cable, but if this poses a problem, i could easily use the HD component wires that came with the console. So any advice would be very helpful.
And another question. I was told that i will need to purchase extra cable so that the speakers can be placed correctly around the room. Will i need 2 gauge speaker wires? or will 8 gauge wires work. Im not sure what this means, but it was what i was told.

I would like to make a follow-up question to this thread.
The X-Box 360 comes standard with RCA (red/white composite) audio out. As an option you can purchase the S/PDIF (digital) audio out.
I own 2 different Creative speaker systems. The GigaWorks S750 and the MegaWorks THX 5.1 550. Both these systems use the analog mini-jack in (front, rear & sub), and the S750 also has the little "table box" with M-port, mic in & headset out (mini-jack).
Can I use any of these Creative ssystems to connect to the X-Box 360? If yes, what is the best solution and which converter(s) is needed?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Creative Inspire T6100 5.1 Speakers

Im looking at buying these speakers for my boyfreind, but will they be able to work with his tv and PS3. I was just wondering if any one new! many thanks beth

The line out on your mac is 2 channel stereo. There probably is a way to wire all the speakers together but you won't get 5.1 surround, which would be a waste of all those speakers.
I think your best option is to buy a good PCI sound card. The M-Audio Revolution 5.1 has good reviews, seems good value and probably addresses your problem.

  • Static Creative Inspire 6.1 6600

Recently, within the past month and a half to two months, my speakers have started to make a static noise. At first, it was occasional and it would go away after I turned my speakers off over night. However, recently ever since I have moved the static has increased. My cell phone would cause interference with my speakers, but it would never make static noises when my cell phone wasn't going off. However, it started before I moved and it has only increased. Is there anything I can do to stop this static?

I'm also having the exact same problem, and so is a friend who has the same speaker/soundcard setup. Any help is appreciated!

6.1 6600 speakers will have every satellites giving out different sounds and reverberation. If you have those all similare, your sound card might not be supporting channel output.
With my experience with creative, the speaker systems are not suposed to be operated at full volume, at full bass enhan*****t. The reasons are:
    1) The power supply will be one-third more capable than the speaker rating. So, full amplification of the sound signal is not preferable.
    2) Even if the fidility of sound card is excellent with more than 98 dB SNR, the amplifier at the speaker system need not be as good as that at the card (because, it amplifies the signal to much higher a value)
    3) As I have seen with most of the speaker systems (including high end theatres), the bass enhan*****t is fully functional with woofer and subwoofers of more than 100 watt RMS. That too will exhibit chattering after an year or two, at high volumes.
