Creative Inspire P7800 90 Watts 7.1 Speaker

I am considering buying this speaker system and I was wondering how it will perform with a
Sound Blaster Live 24 Bit sound card. Thanx

If you are getting sound when you are "testing"  but not when trying to play files it could be that you didn't connect your cd rom to your sound card's auxillary (for playing cd or dvd) or you have certain file types muted...for example...it is possible you have wave muted...but midi is not.  check your volume control properties and see what is marked with a red X...creative is notorious for having some sources muted.
STUPID QUESTION #1, With the Diamond Plus Sound card having sound card on board the MB, where do I find the AUX of the sound card?
STUPID QUESTION #2 I recall years ago having similar issues with a sound blaster card, and yes it was related to some things being muted.  Where are those volume control property settings, and what are the proper settings?

  • Creative inspire P7800 and X-fi extreme sound card on win 7

I have a dell with windows 7, the creative X-fi Extreme sound card and my creative inspire P7800. The sound has not worked properly since receiveing the computer.
I am going to assume it is my speaker and the set up.
I currently cannot even get the option to set up the 7.1 surround speakers. It only shows two. Half the time the sound doesn't work and the other half it only works on certain sites.
I would appreciate any advice on how to trouble shoot this and get it working properly.
The driver I have currently installed is the creative ver. 6.10.0.209 dated 8/27/2009.Above this there is also another listing that says ATI High Definition Audio Device. I do have the on board sound of my motherboard disabled.
If I need to install another driver please advise me of the procedure to do it correctly.
    Thank you for any help!

You may want to try downloading the card's latest driver from http://support.creative.com/Products...T=CategoryID:1
It is a new driver and is released on 28 March 2014.

  • Creative Inspire P7800

Hello, I have a Creative Labs Inspire P7800 7.1 audio system. It is virtually new (used it twice). Somewhere over the years I lost the power adaptor for the subwoofer. Google doesn't return many results with the info I have. I am looking for a replacement adaptor, and/or enough info to manufacture my own. The jack on the sub only says 3.5V AC in, and the manual mentions it but doesn't contain any details . Any info would be appreciated, such as: part number for adapter, amperage of adaptor, type of jack (probalbly have one that fits it), and which pin is + and -.
I'm rather electronics savy and have decent soldering skills, so making my own adaptor isn't out of the question. Also, I'm trying to avoid taking it apart to determine more. Thanks.

Ok, upon searching the forums (should have done this first), it looks like the model # is UA 460. The power is 3.5V AC 6 Amps.
Is there any sort of internal rectifier? Wil it accept DC Voltage (I assume there is an internal rectifier that converts the AC to DC)?

  • 100 ft. speaker wire for Inspire P7800 90 Watts 7.1 Speakers?

I just bought this speaker set and want to wire them in a pretty big room. I'm going to need about 00 feet. What is the best kind (guage, characteristic resistance)? Thanks

I had this same problem once b4. They worked then they didnt. Something had changed on my machine and with a little investigation i found it. When you installed your product it asked you if you wanted to select "Digital Output Only". My system was analog and i didnt know it (inspire t7700, with audigy 2 zs).
I selected digital output only and when i finished installing i had absolutely no sound. I ran all kinds of tests and everything turned up the same. I went to Start>All Programs>Creative>Creative sound blaster audigy 2 zs> and clicked creative restore defaults. BLAMO everything worked. I looked at my Speaker Selection Control....the one where you can calibrate and use the bass control......and i noticed that the digital output only box was unchecked. i realized then what the prob was....but to make sure i tested it by clicking it again. and BLAMO no sound again. if you have digital speakers set the out put to digital only. also in the thx console there is an option to change the sampling frequency from 48khz to 98khz. just fyi

  • Creative Inspire P7800 Don't Work

Seems all i get is hiss, and 2 speakers of the 7 Working. I have read all the posts, and i don't see much mention of 7800 series, but it seems to be the cabling. I would like to know how i can get this system working. I would also like to know to whom i would have to call to have this problem corrected. I almost bought the logitech speaker system, and after reading all the posts here, i wish i had.
    I

well i just posted twice about the P7800. Turns out the cable they send you is made for their Creative Sound cards, so if you want one to work with any other 7.1 Sound card you need to call them and order it, The cable they send you has 3 jacks. Center/Sub, Front and rear, or somethig or other, But it doesnt have teh side speakers, the Blue plug. Call their Customer Service.

  • Inspire P7800 Headphone mic is getting speaker feedback which distorts sound

My P7800 works fine my problem is in a game I get distorted sound from speaker feedback to the mic. Any solution?

    Heh,
Well one of the reasons I bought the speakers was because my friend gave me a copy of FarCry he got bundled with something he bought. But now FarCry wont install heh, so I can't test it on that. I am trying to think of other games I have that use surround..hmm maybe HL2 does. I will do some more testing and wait a couple days to see what you guys think. If worst comes to it I will just buy a soundcard aimed at 7.1 .
    Thanks for responding jimby

  • Creative Inspire 5.1 Digital 5700 center speaker problem

I have a SB Audigy sound card, here is my problem when i run the speaker test they all work and when i put effect on CMSS Movie or CMSS Music all the speakers work but when i put in Fourpoint 5. Din and run lets say EAX Goldmine, lisen to music or play a game i dont get sound from the Center speaker. All the other work just fine and sound come from the right direction exept if there is sound in front of me i cant hear it, any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
    JL

    Jlt_230
The Fourpoint/5. DIN mode acts as a bypass mode for discrete multichannel Digital DIN and 4 channel Analog signals from various sources and passes these signals direct to each speaker output. Therefore when playing back non Dolby Digital 5. (AC3) signals such as Stereo, you will only get Stereo (Left & Right channel) signals without the center signal.
You should be able to get the center channel when you playback Dolby Digital 5. (AC3) sources.

  • Creative Inspire P7800 Middle Right Noises

    Hello,
I'm having a problem w/ my middle right speaker. I haven't had this problem before until now. My middle right speaker would make static noises when I turn on the volume. I tried unplugging the output wire to my computer and it still make the static sound so I know for sure the static isn't outputting from my computer. I tried plugging in different speaker into the Middle right port and it makes those noise. The noise is pretty annoying when I'm not playing music. It sounds like something is hissing. So is there any way I can fix the output port of my middle right output? I tried opening it but the wire connecting to the subwoofer is attached so I can't do anything about it. Any way to fix this? (I bought this like a year or 2 ago so I don't think i have manufacture warranty or do i?)

off subject a little, but i recommend buying a 60 gig off amazon.com. those were the first models to be released and they really are much better than any of the other models they have made. 40 gigs and 80 gig models really don't have all the features like backwards compatability and the four usb ports. it will cost you a little bit more but it is worth every penny.
as for the dts... i found out that will work, but i am concerned about the four linear formats that the ps3 uses. my sound card works with the two basic ones that my computer uses, but i am hoping to find out when i get windvd in the mail if the speakers will work with the other two.

  • Inspire P7800 vs. Inspire T7900?

What's the difference between the Creative Inspire P7800 and Inspire T7900? The only difference I can see is that the mini tweeters in the left, center, and right speakers wit hthe T7900 set are missing in the P7800 set. Is the sound quality really different, or what?

    gaboritz,
The speaker is connected to the computer soundcard and the soundcard is the one that's interacting with the OS. If there is no sound from the speaker, there is only 2 possibility. Either the speaker is faulty or the soundcard is faulty or not interacting properly with the new OS.
Have you try updating to the latest soundcard driver?

  • Creative Inspaire P7800 Replacement Cable

I am trying to find a replacement cable for my 7.1 Creative Inspire P7800. The cable I need is the 4:3 cable that runs from the subwoofer to the sound card. One of my cats chewed through one of the wires, and I am having a difficult time finding a replacement. I called customer support, but they don't carry that particular cable anymore. Any information I can get would be very helpful. Thanks!
*edit* I have a Creative Audigy 2 Value sound card. Is this cable even needed? Or can I used a regular 4:4 cable? Or two 2:2 cables? Help!

  • Side, back, and center speaker on inspire p7800 not working, PLEASE HELP!

I have had the inspire p7800 speakers for awhile, and they worked great, the sound was really great. Then a little while ago, the side, back, and center speaker stopped working. If i turn the volume up, i can hear a kind of static noise in them, but when i play a game or listen to music they don't do anything. i have an Audigy 2 zs sound card, and i just installed all the creative mediasource software. I was using the speakers fine without the software, but i read on a different post, that you can turn on cmss in the EAX control panel. i installed all the stuff, but i can't find the EAX console anywhere on my computer. all the mediasource is is a music player, and a file converter. The speakers stopped working about a week before this, and i unplugged everything and repluged it. After that the center speaker didn't work, but the others did. but now only the front left, and front right speakers work. Please help me with this problem.

I just got the speaker system in today and was trying to set it up, I plugged all the wires in all the right places and the system would not power up. Thanks in advance.
If it doesn't power up then it's either the subwoofer or power adaptor that's faulty. So the only thing you can do is contact customer support or the vendor.

  • Creative inspire t6300 5.1 surround on mac pro 1.1, optical out to 5.1 audio gear (digital sound decoder).

    Hi there,
Been searching and trying a lot but no luck so far. I have a surroundset Creative Inspire t6300
to be able to add some more fun to movies and a few games on my mac.
I own an upgraded Mac Pro 1.1 under Snow leopard, 2.33 gHz, dual processor, 8 core, 8 gb memory.
Even though it`s a piece for the museum, it works very well for designwork I do for work. No real need
    to update for me, so....
As I understand, the optical out is standard 5.1. (By the way, the only other ports are the basic sound ports out
and in on the Mac). So after some research I found and got the 5.1 audio gear decoder. I connected this with
an opticle cable and used the 3,5 jackets from the surroundset  to connect to (from left to right) cen/sw, (yellow
jacket) fl/fr (green jacket), sl/sr (black jacket) on the decoder. All perfectly understandable and it seemed to work well.
But when I tested with some of the testfile you find when googling on that, I think there is something wrong,
the typical surround effect is not there, it rather sounds more like stereo or even 5 mono`s.
I`ve tried Soundflower and JackPilot, but couldn`t get it right. With Soundflower I was able to choose 5.1 setting
(was not possible before) but testing it didn`t work.
There is an extensive test of the decoder on the net by someone who really is deep into the technics of it all but
    no luck there either.
Back to basics: is it right that the optical out is truely 5.1 on the mac? With several tests the unit SFE does not react.
But when I play some music with iTunes, it works (loud and clearly :-)).  Maybe I need a visit to the audiologist ;-) ?
    Anyone?

Hello John, I figured it was a signal issue. All the speakers fire and the sound is great. I was running the speakers thru a Dell PC with a Creative X-Fi Elite Pro, THX Certified, 7.1 soundcard using a fiber optic from the Mac Pro to the Z906's, it worked great until the Dell died!!! When I bought the soundcard from Creative I also bought the GigaWorks S750, THX Certified, 700 watt, 7.1 speaker system, used the speakers for 11 years and then the woofer/amp said "I QUIT" Creative quit making the speaker system and the sound card. The satellite speakers from the Creative GigaWorks speaker system still sound great (rated at 78 watt each) and are a little better speaker than the one's that came with the Z906 and the wattage from the 906 is sufficient to drive the satellites without any distortion. Thank you for addressing my issue, you confirmed what I suspected all along, just needed to hear it from someone with the same setup.
One last question, I purchased a Diamond Multimedia USB Soundcard, can't use the fiber optic(not supported by Mac) but the green, tan and black RCA's plug in and produces adequetly. When you plug your 906's into the Mac Pro using the fiber optic how do you set your speaker configuration? When I plug into the mac pro with fiber optic the 'Audio Midi Setup' does not seem to see the 5.1 configuration. Any thoughts there?

  • Asus A8N-E onboard Realtek AC97 and Creative Inspire P5800's

I am attempting to connect some creative inspire p5800 speakers to the realtek AC97 audio on my A8N-E. But when I run the connector sensing it senses the jack i have plugged into the lime/green socket as stereo line in. In the speaker configuration the lime/green socket is identified as Front speaker out. The jack at the other end of the lead is plugged into the correct socket on the subwoofer. The rear and center speakers work fine.Any ideas would be greatly appreciatedThanks

well there jason, since you asked, there are some of us who have the P7800 where there are four plugs on the side of the speakers and only three plugs on the computer side with asus mother board needing four. The only way around it is to disconnect the grey plug which is the bass and side speakers and bootleg to the bass which isn't how it is supposed to work.

  • Creative Inspire 5300 5.1 Problems - Only Two Speakers Work 100%

I recently purchased the Creative Inspire 5300 5.1 speaker system for my home computer, thinking that a low-end setup would work fine until I gathered the resources to trade them in for something better. Upon hooking them up though I find that they do not work as I was led to believe. The front two corner speakers and subwoofer work fine, just as they would if they were a 2.1 setup, however the center and back speakers make no noise. I know I have them hooked up correctly as I can go into my onboard soundcard?s setup program and test them individually, but in actually practice they do nothing. Not with games or movies that are supposedly 5.1 enabled.
I'm clueless as to what the problem may be. Is it that I need a Creative brand soundcard, that may Abit motherboard and it'ss built-in soundcard are unable to establish the proper frequencies or whatnot? Perhaps I do not have the appropriate surround sound drivers installed? Any help would be vastly appreciated.

    DevNull7,
You may need to enable certain settings within your sound card to upmix the Stereo to 5.1. Check with your sound card support for further information. They should be able to assit you on this.

  • Connecting Creative Inspire 5.1 speakers to DVD player

    Hi,
I have a LG DVD Player (DSI 8352) which gives 5.1 home theatre (dolby decoder) output.
If I buy Creative Inspire 5.1 speakers (5200 or 5700), how do I connect them ? Through RCA Stereo cables ? Would there be any compatibility issues ?
Please suggest the 5.1 speakers that would suit my requirement (no decoder / only amplifier) ..
Plz reply back to [email protected]
    Thanks,Sambath

Creative offers many speaker systems that will fit your needs, without decoder.
You mentioned the Inspire 5700 system; this system comes with a decoder/amplifier, and wouldnt actually be what you'r looking for.
If your looking for awesome sound-quality, and good power, I can recommend the 5.1 Megaworks system, though this system can get quite expensive, you'll get what you pay for.
The megaworks (like "all" other creative speaker systems, got a built in amplifier in the subwoofer, where you connect all the speakers.)
To connect the speakers to the DVD-player, you connect the multichannel output on the DVD-player, to the multichannel input on the back of the subwoofer. (three stereo minijack inputs.)
You may need some RCA-to-minijack adapters, so that the multichannel audio cable that comes with the megaworks, will fit on your DVD-players output.
