Creative Inspire T5400 Center Speaker Problem

Hey Creative,
I use the Audigy Platimum Sound Card with Audigy drive with Inspire T5400 speakers. Ever since i got the speakers I have noticed either the center speaker plays so quiet its almost not hearable or it doesn't play at all. This happens for music alot. I checked all the hookups and I got the AudioHQ and Windows set for 5.1 surround speakers. What is the problem?
Thanx
Adam

Adamb10,
You will need to enable CMSS though Playcenter for the Audigy. Launch playcenter and put it in player mode (not jukebox mode) on the right hand side there is a button that expands out the player to display a number pad. At the bottom of the numbers there is a button marked CMSS, set it to on or movie mode and it should give you what you want.

  • Creative Inspire 5.1 Digital 5700 center speaker problem

I have a SB Audigy sound card, here is my problem when i run the speaker test they all work and when i put effect on CMSS Movie or CMSS Music all the speakers work but when i put in Fourpoint 5. Din and run lets say EAX Goldmine, lisen to music or play a game i dont get sound from the Center speaker. All the other work just fine and sound come from the right direction exept if there is sound in front of me i cant hear it, any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
    JL

    Jlt_230
The Fourpoint/5. DIN mode acts as a bypass mode for discrete multichannel Digital DIN and 4 channel Analog signals from various sources and passes these signals direct to each speaker output. Therefore when playing back non Dolby Digital 5. (AC3) signals such as Stereo, you will only get Stereo (Left & Right channel) signals without the center signal.
You should be able to get the center channel when you playback Dolby Digital 5. (AC3) sources.

  • Center Speaker problem

Alright I got a Audigy 2 ZS card and Inspire T5400 5.1 speakers. Somehow my center speaker doesn't work, and it didn't even pass the test either. But when I unplug and replug it I can hear it do the scratchy sound. Anyone know what my problem is?

I have a similar problem to the above message. I have SB Live! LS sound card, and a Creative 5.1 speaker set (not sure which one). When I test the 5.1 surround speakers with Creative AudioHQ, I hear the test voice say, "Center speaker." But, in all other applications I hear nothing out of the center speaker. Windows Media Player, PowerDVD, EAX enabled games, none of them put sound out the center speaker. Please help.

  • Creative Inspire 5300 5.1 Problems - Only Two Speakers Work 100%

I recently purchased the Creative Inspire 5300 5.1 speaker system for my home computer, thinking that a low-end setup would work fine until I gathered the resources to trade them in for something better. Upon hooking them up though I find that they do not work as I was led to believe. The front two corner speakers and subwoofer work fine, just as they would if they were a 2.1 setup, however the center and back speakers make no noise. I know I have them hooked up correctly as I can go into my onboard soundcard?s setup program and test them individually, but in actually practice they do nothing. Not with games or movies that are supposedly 5.1 enabled.
I'm clueless as to what the problem may be. Is it that I need a Creative brand soundcard, that may Abit motherboard and it'ss built-in soundcard are unable to establish the proper frequencies or whatnot? Perhaps I do not have the appropriate surround sound drivers installed? Any help would be vastly appreciated.

    DevNull7,
You may need to enable certain settings within your sound card to upmix the Stereo to 5.1. Check with your sound card support for further information. They should be able to assit you on this.

  • Center speaker problems

Hi, I installed sound blaster live 5.1 to my computer yesterday and hooked up the altec lansing surround sound 5.1. The speaker test passed on all of the speakers but the center speaker does not play music even though it passed the test. What is the problem? Please help. Thank you, Larry

I purchased my Creative 5.1 Inspire 5200 speaker system alongwith SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 sound card about a week ago.
However, due to some reason, I have not been able to obtain any sound from the Center Satellite Speaker while playing music. The speaker works fine in the speaker test but does not produce any sound while playing music. I have looked around for any concerned options but haven't located any that might solve the problem.
So I guess my problem is pretty much the same as lkma9's. Let's hope some smaritan drops by to solve our miseries

  • 5.1 Center Speaker Problems

Hi, I have T5900 speakers on a soundblaster live! 5.1 soundcard (build .4). I don't get music playing out of my center speaker. I only hear sound effects in games etc, and the speaker works using the tests. I have read other threads, and so know that the problem can normally be solved using CMSS (because the music isn't coded for 5.1). The creative website says that the live! 5.1 has the capability, but DOESN'T tell you how to turn it on, and I cant for the life of me find the option in EAX or anywhere else in the creative software. I have used the site automatic update to check I have the latest software and drivers, so that's not the problem. (It tells me there is nothing I need to update)
But CMSS doesn't seem to be an ideal answer to it, as people get distortion in the rear speakers etc, so any solution is welcome.
And YES I have made sure it is all plugged in correctly.
And YES I have made sure that the computer is set up for 5.1 speakers in the windows "sounds and audio options" in control pannel, and in the creative soundblaster software.
Also friends of mine have this problem using the Audigy 2 ZS soundcard and 5.1 speakers, but that looks fixable with CMSS, my main problem is my soundcard is a live! 5.1.
Thanks in advance for any help.

one place i know the cmss button is located is in the advanced tab of the mini view of creative media source. no its eax which will give you "distorsion" in the rear speakers its technical names include "delay" and "reverb" cmss just emulates the channels not accounted for.good luck

  • Inspire p5800 - center speaker doesnt work

    hi there...
i got a little problem... i have SB audigy 2 and inspire p5800...
I set i up and the center speaker doesnt work at all.. no madder what i do.. i can hear the center speaker snear or something.. but i cant hear any music from it at all...
If i try calibrate the 5.1 the center speaker makes sound like it was the subwoofer... any solution for this? i checked the cables and they are in the right places..
    hope ya can help
    Jones

Hm, that is certainly odd......make sure the jack that goes from the subwoofer to your sound card is in the correct spot.
Not sure but you may have 3 wires going to your soundcard - refer to the user manual for the correct order.
If you are using digital - well then - I don't have a clue unless you hooked that digital cable to the wrong place on the soundcard as well.
    Good luck.

  • Megaworks 650 Center Speaker Problems

I've had the Megaworks 650 for about a year now. I use the DDTS decoder as well and have it hooked up to my TV and xbox. The problem is, for some reason the center speaker's volume is almost inaudible now. It's not the wire or the speaker itself, I've swapped them with other speakers and wires. It's almost as if there isn't enough power going to that center speaker or something. Has anyone else had this problem?

It is the front center speaker, sorry. There is no hissing noise, just very very soft sound that should be the center speaker. I think it might be a problem with the amp, but I have no way of knowing if it is, or how to fix it.

  • Creative 6.1 6700 speaker problems.

  • Inspire T5400 Bad Screeching Noise

    Hello,
I just got the Creative Inspire T5400 5.1 speaker system from Newegg a half a week ago and everything seems to sound really good... except for the fact that when these speakers idle right after a song or loud noise in a game, they will make this really weird noise that's very high in frequency. My parents can't hear it (the older you get, the more hearing loss :S), neither can my sister, but I can and it really distracts me from the good sound coming from these speakers. This doesn't only happen when some loud noise or song finishes, sometimes they'll do it constantly while there is a lot of sound and it really throws you off.
I'm not sure how you can describe the noise, I mean, it's high pitch... but the closest I can compare this to is if you have ever heard someone turn on night vision in a game, that screeching noise that goes up is pretty close to what these speakers do. I know it's not my sound card because I just had it replaced by a Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit and this issue still takes place. I don't know if these speakers are somewhat defected or if it's just what they do.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated...

You are correct, I have exactly the same problem and am doing a second RMA on my T5400 speakers. A bit on the weird side though, when I tip the subwoofer towards me, the sound fades away momentarily. Something internally wrong indeed...

  • Creative Inspire 4.1 faulty wiring on volume dial

I purchased a creative inspire 4.1 speaker system and the volume dial has a short in it or something so every little while the volume goes way up or down and its really annoying. I'm pretty sure the only faulty part is the dial and its wire thats attatched going into the subwoofer. Is there a way I can buy a new one? And can you tell me what that parts proper name is so I can email customer support or something?
    Thanks!

i got same prob.. but on t7900.. crap remote.. only 3 months old.. do a search for my posts. and you will see many others with the same prob.. p.s costomer service help is rubish.. it been over a month now

  • Inspire T5400 Speaker Problems

I am having a problem with my Inspire T5400.
    Let me explain what happened.
I was playing Doom3 and the sound was up pretty loud (sounds awesome btw) and my roomie asked me to put my headphones on! LOL
Sooooo? I grab the headphones and go to plug them in the volume control unit and there was a little bleep sound and now the speakers don?t work!
Has anyone else had this problem and is it the volume control module or the sub woofer?
I plugged the headphones directly into my computer via a front headphone jack plug on the box and it works fine.. just no sounds coming from my T5400 anymore.
    Any suggestions?
Should I purchase the Volume control module or ?

Well.. I tried that a dozen times when it first happend.
I think I am just going to buy a whole new setup... tech support is telling me that I either need to send it to them for fixing, which costs a fee because I am no longer with in the warranty period.
I think I would rather keep the speakers and stuff for a back up to the new one I am going to buy!
I found the same setup at Walmart for much cheaper, but I will have to order it as I doubt it is something that is in stock up here in Alaska..at least at the one store I called closest to me.
Anywho, thanks for the post, appreciate it.
    D out

  • Creative inspire 5.1 5200 speaker problem

I just bought these speakers and the center speaker gives me static i tried switching the sound card and i still got static i dont know if they are broken or if im doing something wrong

Try a set of headphones on the same output on the soundcard. If you hear static then, it's something on the card or PC that's causing it. If the sound is fine then, it must be something in the speakers.
Double-check the cable isn't damaged, it may be that it's faulty. Otherwise it's possible the center speaker itself (or the output on the sub) is broken. Contact Customer Support for assistance in that case.
