Creative LET US FLASH our car

We can flash motherboards , we can flash dri'ves.... but we cant flash our soundcards
why not? why give not give people a warning that creative will not be held responsable
for any damage done when flashing. I dont want to go through all that faffing about
sending the card for rma when a updated flash firmware may work
And please dont close this thread :|

I can give you something to think about:
Flashing the BIOS on a computer will help improving the compatiblity with the new componets added to that system - that will be "dri'ved" by that BIOS.
Because on a soundcard is nothing new that need to be added (that will be dri'ved by the soundcard), once a good firmware was find, is no techincal need for another one.
The new PC systems shall be made compatible with existing working PCI cards, not the card with all the new MoBo...
And for more - that are software drivers for!!!
Flashing is unusefull for a mature PCI card - except if you want to change the ID of the card from Audigy2Value to Audigy4 (one example)... And that is something that nobody in industry will agree to do with their products.
And besides all that, I am almost sure that the firmware cannot be flashed software - the chip need to be reprogrammed with external devices. At least on Audigy2 is like that.

    How do I let local Flash content communicate with the
    Intranet if you don't have intenet access to set it up? you se like

    That variable could be simply called... nextSection
    If you plan to use frame labels, than nextSection would be a String, otherwise it would be an Int (integer).  So when you click the button for section X of the site, the nextSection value is assigned either the frame label or the frame number of that button's section.  Then at the end of your outro, you have a line of code.... gotoAndPlay(nextSection)
    The nextSection variable should be declared in an actions layer that only has code in frame one but extends unbroken for the full length of the timeline.  This makes it available to anywhere along the timeline where it needs to be either read or assigned.  I sually use two layers for actions... one to hold such things like this that get shared anywhere along the timeline (function/variables)... and another for frame-specific actions (stop, value assignment, function calls, etc)

  • How do I connect my iPhone 4S to Bluetooth device in our car?

    My iPhone 4swill not connect to our car's Bluetooth. We have tried all sorts of online help. Nothing works. Please help. We had no trouble doing so with our "dumb phone".

    Depending on the age of your car, it might be running a version of Bluetooth that's fine with your "dumb phone" but doesn't play well with smartphones. I have a 2013 car with Bluetooth that basically knows everything on my iPhone, because the software engineers at the car company set it up that way.
    Your expectation that Apple is supposed to manufacture an iPhone to work with every car and every car company's software is not reasonable. Maybe you have to take your car to the dealer to update its software so it will work with an advanced product like the iPhone.

    I need to connect my Creative mp3 Player and my car stereo (Peugeot 407 standard car stareo). It haven't cassette player or an "AUX IN" hole. Any Idea?

    Unfortunately (for us consumers) there are few options.
    ) Use an FM transmitter which does not work in your area.
    2) There was a post in this forum where the person had a device installed that would switch from the car antenna to an FM transmitter. So effecti'vely, the FM transmitter is spliced right into the antenna line into your car stereo. The theory is that it's either using the car antenna or your MP3 player, but never both. There are no competing FM stations. The use also said this cost them $200 .... which makes option 3 a better deal considering FM will decrease the fidelity of a MP3 player.
    3) Buy a car stereo with an input jack .. as SSR as sited.
    4) You can buy a cassette adapter ... if your current car stereo has a circa 20th century cassette player.
    5) Start a grass roots effort to lobby car manufacturers to put in a input jack in the car stereos. The American companies might be softened after this SUV bust.
    If you pick #5, I'm available to stamp and stuff envelopes ......

  • Creative Cloud - Does Adobe REALLY Care About Customers?

    I hope the staff at Adobe are reading these forum posts.
    First question: the following quote
    As far as the future of CS applications, in his Adobe MAX keynote, David Wadhwani said, 'We have no plans' to continue perpetual licenses. We are not ruling that out in the future.
    Just exactly what is meant by this statement? Is Adobe already looking for a back door if the Create Cloud doesn't pan out? I really would like to know what this means. It sounds ominous and dubious and it sends mixed messages.
    As far as the Creative Cloud model goes, is this really a benefit to your customers? I can see it might make Adobe a lot of money (if you don't lose a vast majority of your customer base) but how does it really benefit your customers? Your loyal customers? The customers that made you the rich company that you are today.
    Speaking for myself, I do not use all the programs that will be available in the cloud on a regular basis. During the summer when I don't have classes, I don't use some programs at all. But I have to keep paying whether I use them or not. If I stop paying, I will lose access to my software. How is that a good thing for me?  For the majority of your customers? You think because we pay a monthly fee that most people won't equate that we are having to fork over more than $300 a year? In some cases over $600 a year. And it never stops. How is that good for the majority of your customers?
    Do I really need to have the latest software constantly? No, I don't. But you are now forcing the issue whether I want it or not. Forcing your customer to do something does not seem like you really care about me.  About us.
    What about my students? We have hundreds of students that go through our Adobe software classes each semester. Every student told me they would not go with the Cloud, either because they don't have the money or they were going to protest Adobe's "money grabbing scheme" (one student's actual quote). The students sure don't think Adobe cares about them. If the students stop taking the classes because of the software access, then we start cutting sections. Does Adobe care about that? I'm sure no, but think about those hundreds of students each semester that will no longer be learning to use Adobe software.
    Adobe is putting a stranglehold on its customers and the customers are going to say  enough is enough.  Perhaps new software (open source?) will emerge to take the place of Adobe. Perhaps people using InDesign will go back to QuarkXPress. Perhaps enough of these former Adobe customers will force Adobe to check their hubris and greed at the door. But maybe not. The world will move on, one way or another.
    One thing I am supremely sure about is Adobe has got it really, really wrong on the Creative Cloud strategy.
    BTW, you might want to read the following link entitled Adobe Creative Cloud:  Lopsided Legal Agreement. It is not pretty:

    Nice sentiments, could not agree more.

    I hope this occurs across the globe with students ("potential" future Adobe customers) whom may be hindered in their monetary abilities but not in seeing the truth towards what it being placed upon them by Adobe concerning the Cloud mirage. This is a great opportunity for educators to truly educate their students about Adobe.

  • "Letting Adobe Flash communicate with the internet"

    Ok, Here is the deal. I have some .flv video files hosted on my domain with a fantastic looking flash player. It all works great. Except that every time that I change any of the code in the html snippet, or load the page with said snippet on it in iweb, i get this message:
    "Adobe Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation.
    The following local application on your computer or network:
    iweb-widget:58/$x-html-markup
    is trying to communicate with this Internet-enabled location:
    my.domain
    To let this application communicate with the internet, click settings.
    You must restart this application after changing your settings
    {OK} {Settings...}"
    and here's where my problem comes in. I can click ok, and it apparently just ignores the "security" risk and lets it go through that one time, but the next time I load up the page, I have to do it all over again.
    Alternatively, I can click settings, and exactly the same thing happens as when I click ok.
    Any idea how to get this message to go away. I understand what the "security" risk is, but I also know exactly what it is that I am hosting and I want to allow it to communicate with my webserver.
    For reference, here is the code in my html snippet
    "<embed
    src="http://my.domain/mediaplayer/player.swf"
    width="640"
    height="352"
    bgcolor="000000"
    allowscriptaccess="always"
    allowfullscreen="true"
    flashvars="file=http://my.domain/movies/shortclip.flv&backcolor=000000&frontcolo r=EEEEEE&lightcolor=000000&screencolor=000000"
    />"
    For clarification, when published and uploaded, every thing looks great and runs as it should, but I really hate this amazingly annoying nag message.

    I am already using the JW Flash player.
    http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?item=JWFLVPlayer
    same thing as the link.
    That part is working fine. I just need to know how to change the settings so flash player doesn't get angry about it contacting an external site.
    Just kind of annoying that every time that I even load up the page to view it in iweb, I have to click to let it contact the external page, for every video on the **** page.

  • Download Creative Cloud Apps For our Macs from Admin PC?

    I am the systems admin for a company that has a new CC subscription. My workstation is a PC but I need to install CC on a Mac. When I go to download CC apps or the CC desktop, it wants to give me PC executables instead of letting me choose. I don't want to go get in the way of the graphics team just to download this software. Can I do this from my admin workstation or do I have to download it from the Mac?

    I'm not sure about this but it's possible that Creative Cloud is set to auto-detect the system OS that you are currently downloading onto.  There may be an override for this to allow you the option to choose which installers to download but I do not know how to set this option.  Have a look at your CC desktop app settings if there is any option available, otherwise call Adobe technical support for direct download links of products.

  • Keep the "juice" always flowing in your Creative Zen MP3 flash play

    The only charging method Creative supplied with your Zen is the short USB cable
    to charge it when there is a PC USB port around.
    Note: Creative sells car/auto & AC wall mount chargers and (international) travel chargers.
    How to always keep the "juice" or Zen battery charged under these conditions?
    #1. Camping, hiking or outdoor travel - no PC or no? AC or maybe no auto/car.
    #2. Airplane travel - no pc or no AC or no auto/car.
    #3. Train/subway travel - no pc or no auto/car
    #4. Car travel - no PC or no AC
    #5. Foot travel - no PC or no AC or no auto/car
    You could buy separate charging devices BUT when you total up the final bill
    for all the devices you will be totally shocked at the cost plus the hassle of carrying all the
    modules and cords around.
    I found, the other day, a perfect solution in a "all in one compact device"
    from "Earhugger Powerpod" There are several models but the one you
    want is the (white) "EARHUGGER IPOD POWER POD - MP3-8370"
    If it is good enough for the "fruit company" then it is good enough for Creative.
    Do not pay over $27 (including shipping) (retail $40) or you will be paying too much.
    Keep searching the web for the best price. Make sure its sealed in plastic security wrap.
    What is the "EARHUGGER IPOD POWER POD - MP3-8370" (white)?
    Charge your player, in your case, a Zen ( Not Ipod)? in your car's 2v cigarette lighter,
    at home via wall outlet, via USB on your computer, or a 9 Volt Battery with this handy charger!
    Note: A standard alkaline battery has ~ 544 ma and the Zen has an internal 550 mAh. Lithium-Ion polymer
    battery, so it would take several alkaline batteries to charge up the Zen battery. You could also use
    the more expensive Lithium 9 vdc @ ~ 200 mAh.
    Note: This unit is NOT for international use!
    Warning note: I inspected the model at Brookstone for the specs. but I have NOT purchased or tried one because
    I am waiting for the price to drop even more on the Internet.
    Cheers.

    I think by plugging in the charging cable it resets/reboots the player which loses the current track?
    It may not be a big deal for people who only listen to music on their MP3 players, but it's "extremely critical" to people who listen to talk shows, Podcasts or audio books. Think about it, you're 2 hours into a 4-hour audio book and you're running low on juice. So you charge it and then your place is completely lost! And since the Zen Stone Plus doesn't accelerate when scanning forward, it take minutes to get back to your previous position. Very frustrating!
    Even my cheap Muvo FM TX remembers its current position between battery changes or adding new files. As long as I don't?delete the current file (obviously), it will return the the exact location it was at when I last turned it off.

  • Connect a creative zen to my new car ste

    Hi
    I have recently purchased a new Lexus IS 250 and I want to get a jack plug to connect my creative zen Micro it has a port built in the car to connect it to but I don't know what I need or where I can get one from can anyone help

    As far as I can tell it comes with an Aux jack set up as standard, in which case you'll just need a cable to connect directly:

    The image has an iPod, but the idea is the same.

  • Zen Creative 4GB Volume in my Car Questi

    When I plug my MP3 in the the Aux Outlet the volume on the car jumps from 8 to 49. This should be blasting me out of the car but it just normal volume. My car is a 2008 Prius if that makes any difference.
    When I unplug the MP3 player the volume goes back to around 8.
    Ed Rossier?

    Any device that has a cable which connects to the headphone jack of an ipod will work with a Creative mp3 player. The best method of connecting is with a cable to the aux in on the car stereo, although some people have commented that the volume in their car doesn't get loud enough that way(it depends on the car). Another way to connect is using a cassette adapter if your car has a tape player. If not, the third option is using an FM transmitter(they are illegal to use in some places such as the UK though).
