I don't tend to post in newsgroups because I rarely feel I have anything worthwhile to input, but I feel this is pretty worthwhile. I've had Vista Ultimate RTM installed for some time now and whilst I was very pleased with it, I was unable to use it as I use my Creative Li've Motion with Skype to speak to my girlfriend overseas. This was incredibly disappointing. I contacted Creative a number of times to try to get more information on why there wasn't yet a Windows Vista driver for this, what I would consider very new and expensi've, webcam, why it would take until the end of 2007 to produce a driver and why their Vista range wasn't even compatible with Windows Vista (clearly a case of 'cashing in' in my opinion). Anyway, I accidentally forgot to select Windows XP in the boot loader today and ended up in the long forgotten Windows Vista installation. I decided to take a look if there was any update to the driver release schedule but?to no avail. I then thought I'd have a quick check if anyone had maybe created 'homebrew' drivers, when I found the following post:http://forums.creative.com/creativel....id=387&a#M387?I decided that this was probably untrue as I'd already tried the XP drivers but I thought I'd give it a shot. Low and behold IT WORKED!?Why hasn't creative made the fact that the XP drivers now seemingly work available on either the Vista compatibility chart or elsewhere on the creative site?I'm losing steam for this rant now but rest assured I'll be avoiding Creative products like I would a dose of gammy, rampant knob rot. First of all, this is a user-interaction forum, not a support forum. If you need support, then you need to contact Customer Support. The forums say this in red at the top of the listing:

Now, have you tried checking to ensure you have the required 500ma of power (full USB spec?) Some laptops cut power to the USB to save battery life, but this will also cause the cam to not detect. You can usually enable USB Keyboard or USB legacy support to get more power.
Next, check in your Device Manager to see what your display adapter is. If it's a ATI Radeon series 200, you probably have a certain ATI chipset on your motherboard that's known for not having 00% to spec USB ports, and they don't work with some of our webcams as a result. More information about that is in our knowledge base, Solution ID # 7557.
As for the rest of your post, there is no reason to attack and threaten Creative. We provide multiple channels of support, so there is no reason to behave this way. Please try to be less ab-"noxious" in your posts, and you may find more people are willing to help you.

USB 2.0 Problem when installing Creative Live Motion Webcam

I currently have a Compaq desktop PC running Windows XP SP2 with all the latest Microsoft patches. However, when I try to install the Creative Live Motion drivers, it warns me that the software components required to support USB 2.0 are not installed.
As a result the Webcam will not function when plugged in directly to the USB 2.0 ports in the PC (either at the back or the front of the PC).
However, if a plug in the Webcam via a USB 4 port Hub (running at USB .) it then works okay.
Can any one please advise how I am suposed to upgrade the software on my PC to convince it to support USB 2.0 attached devices and why does the Webcam not function under certain conditions. Note that I have tried various BIOS configurations regarding its ability to support legacy USB - both Auto and Disabled.

I found answer for my problem from knowledge base, Solution ID # 7557.
"Creative WebCam Live! Ultra, WebCam Live! Ultra for notebooks and Live! Motion may be incompatible with some ATI southbridge SB400 and SB450 products."

Have found another used Creative Live Motion cam. I guess the one I have has got some malfunction.
Trying to replace some part of my new one from the donor old camera. Will post the result with pictures.
For all the people experiencing extremely slow frame rate, a non-documented and not known fix is simple. Just disable the Auto Exposure checkbox in the camera settings first tab and see the smooth results. Manually adjust the exposure to a reasobable value according to camera placement and enjoy.

There isn't any setting to disable/enable the blue lighting. If the WebCam is working properly and the light isn't showing, it does sounds faulty.

Hello, i've had my Creative Live Motion working fine under Vista for weeks until today after i have uninstalled the Logitech Quickcam software from my computer (as it doesn't work with my Sphere only the new Sphere MP). After that the Creative driver stopped working, i have searched around on internet and in this forum and looks like everybody have the same problem under Vista. after having tried everything else I have decided to reinstall the latest Logitech Vista driver :http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/do...,contentid=003 and then the 2000/xp driver for the Live Motion from Creative website which finally installed correctly and is again working fine. I have developped webcamXP and i've been using this driver under Vista for days without interruptions and without any problems, everything is working fine including the directX functions to control the pan and tilt through software. Creative Live Vista IM (VF0420) Problem, PLEASE HELP!

I use Freetrack to play Airplane Combat Simulators, it's a program that uses the WebCam and a hat with 3 LED to simulate the head movement inside the cockpit.
I'm using Creative Live Vista IM (VF0420) installed the CD drivers and it works perfectly with the Freetrack and all the other programs.
Recently i've bought a Joystick (Saitek Aviator), so I installed the drivers on the CD plugged in the Joystick and it was also working perfectly.
The problem is that now the camera it's not working and the only way to get the camera working is to unplug the Joystick and restart the computer.
After the restart I tested the camera and it was working ok, but again, just after I plug in the Joystick the camera freezes the image and stops working until the next restart with the joystick disconnected.
Resuming, this camera only works when the joystick is disconnected since the computer restart. LOL
I'm using Windows XP 32 Bit + SP2
I tested with other webcam (also Creative) and had no problems working with Freetrack and no conflicts with the Joystick.
I see no conflicts on the Device Manager.
Anyone with the same problem or with the solution please reply.

If you use cable between CD-ROM dri've and sound card, disable the "Enable Digital Output ...." setting on Device Manager --> DVD/CD-ROM dri'ves --> your dri've name --> Properties --> Properties -tab. If not using cable, then try with cable instead (disable this setting then).
Check if DMA transfer is activated for CD-ROM dri've(s) (try if enabling/disabling it makes any difference).
Disable the Creative CD-ROM detector (service).

Creative Live wireless webcam - DDNS or any other outside access doesn't work

Bought the Creative Live Wireless webcam. Works inside my network, but DDNS server offered by Creative has been down for weeks now, so I can't use this service. The remote IP access also does not work, since the webcam doesn'y assign a remote IP (it states 0.0.0.0).
No support infor on Creative web page at all, they don't even list the product. I feel like this is all a big scam....
Can anyone provide insight in how to the this product to work?

Did you get an auto response to your e-mail? Once a request arrives a response goes out automatically. If you didn't get that, check your spam filter first as the reply may be stuck there.

Replacement for Live Motion?

I used Adobe Live Motion on my old mac but can't on my new MacBook Pro, has anyone any suggestions for a simple replacement?
Live Motion was easy to use but am not sure about the new products.
Any help much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Motion (bundled with FCS) has all the capabilities of LiveType and much, much more.

I have to use external microphone from Logitech now.
I send few emails to Customer Service. They answered once to check my Device Manager and disappeared after that. I'm really disappointed.
It looks like the drivers for Windows 7 are wrong.

if you have the USB Mic connected kindly remove it first then uninstall the audio drivers for your B510.
let windows install its generic driver.
once done plugin your usb mic and test it again.

How to install presets purchased from Creative Live? [Question]

I purchased a set of presets from Creative Live, and can not install them as instructed. I have Windows 7, AdobeCC, when going to user's file then to the only file with "Roaming" is under Public, then to Roaming, Adobe-shows only Extension Manager 2-Illustrator CS4. This is not what the instructions say at all anywhere! I have tried to make a folder on Desktop with the included presets, then tried to load them into PS, edit import/export and nothing happens. Please help I have contacted Creative Live re this & they said they cannot help & others have had no issues.

What happens when you try to go to “%APPDATA%” in Windows Explorer? I would expect the Roaming folder exists for every Windows Vista/7/8 user, not just Public, but the AppData folder, itself, is hidden, so you may not be able to navigate with clicks in Explorer, unless you turn on the viewing of hidden folders:

I run a HP Pavilion ze2000, will I be able to use the Creative Live Ultra without problems like on the TOshiba Sattelite notebooks? I have usb 2 port and I surpase/meet all recommended requirements.

Yes, it looks like they've screwed up. Some people have been able to update CC to LR6, some people get half way through the download and it fails, some people (me included don't get any option to upgrade to LR6 in the CC app... It's all very annoying. I tried the help chat, and I got "log out of the CC and try again in 2-3 hours". Well, that was half an hour ago, but I'm not holding my breath for getting LR6 today.

My webcam is a Creative Live IM Vista. Also the sound recorded plays back faster than I recorded.
I've noticed that if I login as a root on KDE4 then xawtv will play fine,
su -c Skype
but skype will shows only green test's display and crash after a while.

I made an Arch installation on USB which isn't affected by this sort of problem. Unfortunately I'm not able to find the differences to trace the flaw.

Nvidia packages block the normal user access to /dev/video*

Found the issue, Must set a environ variable XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1. Then I appended to /etc/profile.d/xorg.sh. Also mentioned in this thread

I can not reactivate my DDNS service after having reinstalled my Creative Live Wireless Webcam

Hi,
After having changed my wireless router's network key, I had to change of course also the key
stored in my Creative Live Wireless Internet Camera setup. To do
this, I have deleted my cam definitions and did a scratch install after
resetting. However now I can not register my URL name anymore and DDNS is
disabled. The setup wizard says that it could not connect to the server to
register my host name (in fact this name is already registered by me before) and that I should try again. I attempted numerous times, no help!
The IP adress of my Creative Wireless Cam is 92.68..250, it is exactly the same as it
was before. My registered URL was "goztepe.creativeddns.com" and remote monitoring?was working?
with these parameters without any problem, which are still the same as before, I did not change them.
How should I reactivate my DDNS service? Maybe a reset or something alike is needed on the Creative Server which is doing the URL registrations? I would appreciate any help because I
am not able to access my cam from remote anymore!
