Creative Livecam Vista IM - software problem (WebCam Center)

Hello,
I've just had my camera installed with all the software included. There's one problem - every time I open the WebCam Center, the program tries to install something called "Photo Gallery". However, it's impossible to install that, because some errors occur (2908).
The only way to get the WebCam Center work is to cancel the installation, which is possible only just after the WebCam center launches.
How can I get rid off this "Photo gallery" installation thing?

Sephiroth,
Can you click on the details for the error report and post up what it says. If it reports something about Apple causing the problem then you could try updating your QuickTime to the latest version.

Creative Live Vista IM (VF0420) Problem, PLEASE HELP!

I use Freetrack to play Airplane Combat Simulators, it's a program that uses the WebCam and a hat with 3 LED to simulate the head movement inside the cockpit.
I'm using Creative Live Vista IM (VF0420) installed the CD drivers and it works perfectly with the Freetrack and all the other programs.
Recently i've bought a Joystick (Saitek Aviator), so I installed the drivers on the CD plugged in the Joystick and it was also working perfectly.
The problem is that now the camera it's not working and the only way to get the camera working is to unplug the Joystick and restart the computer.
After the restart I tested the camera and it was working ok, but again, just after I plug in the Joystick the camera freezes the image and stops working until the next restart with the joystick disconnected.
Resuming, this camera only works when the joystick is disconnected since the computer restart. LOL
I'm using Windows XP 32 Bit + SP2
I tested with other webcam (also Creative) and had no problems working with Freetrack and no conflicts with the Joystick.
I see no conflicts on the Device Manager.
Anyone with the same problem or with the solution please reply.

If you use cable between CD-ROM dri've and sound card, disable the "Enable Digital Output ...." setting on Device Manager --> DVD/CD-ROM dri'ves --> your dri've name --> Properties --> Properties -tab. If not using cable, then try with cable instead (disable this setting then).
Check if DMA transfer is activated for CD-ROM dri've(s) (try if enabling/disabling it makes any difference).
Disable the Creative CD-ROM detector (service).

Creative Zen Vision: M Software problems, player not detec

<SPAN class=postbody>hi, i just got a creative zen vision: m a couple of days back and i've had problems with it being detected by my computer. i've installed the software but when i connect the player to my pc, it shows up for about a second then it's not detected anymore. i brought it back to the store for them to check and it works on their lap-top. any ideas?Message Edited by wongkenji on 08-06-2006 08:26 PM

in your autoupdate page of Support, I find new driver.
But where I find also new software for WebCam Center? Or, simply, to reinstall it.

Sorry, don't know what else to suggest unless there's a URL to the problem stream that someone here can try. Otherwise we can't test it to try and determine what might be wrong.
BTW, make sure they're testing it with a Mac, not with a Windows system. If they test only with Windows, what they say is or is not working doesn't mean much.

Creative NX Ultra and Creative WebCam Center.

Hello. Just installed my Creative NX Ultra webcam, and it works good with msn etc, but when I run Creative WebCam Center I get this; "No supported Creative camera detected. Please plug in to continue." I have no idea what to do, I've tried reinstalling the webcam drivers and the webcam center, but it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

I don't have the same issues as you do, but wanted to see if we have the same camera or not, maybe help each other out even.. I'm thinking that I bought my camera a couple of years ago, but I only had it hooked up and tried it once. At that time, it seemed like it worked fine, but now the video doesn't look that great and I'm even wondering if it is the right software! I have a seperate headset. But being as I've never turned it on again after that, I've had to reinstall and not 100% sure if there is an upgrade or not for the software. So what version software do you have?
I have version 2.03.01 and it says PC-CAM Center for the NX ultra. I says Instant Live Video chats, but being as I'm not to sure yet how to use it, I am wonderng why it tells me to "save".. I would have thought that if your using it online, why would you save it?
At anyrate.. if you or anyone else should see this, is there a higher version for the software?
AND, I want some advice of what to buy for working online, I need a camera for this. Am I supposed to get a new headset to match?..
I hope someone gets back to me soon, cause I've been advised to buy another brand and I really don't want to, being as Everything else on my computer is set up for sound using Creative labs.

Webcam Instant, Creative Webcam Center issue

im having trouble with my webcam center application. drivers and everything installed just fine and i accessed the Center application once with no problem until i tried to save a captured pic. then it went unresponsi've and now wont start at all. i even tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but it doesnt work.

JornGP .... Have you tried doing more than taking one snapshot under each user name? I tried going into other users as well. The software started, but as soon as I took a snapshot it locked up. Now under those users it no longer starts up either and locks.
As for Windows Updates, I don't have my PC set for automatic updates - it only updates when I manually check for updates and install. No new updates were installed on my PC during the time this problem started, so that can't be it.

I'm trying to install the software included with creative Zen V Plus but it is not possible - it stops at 63%
I get this following error:
"CTIntrfu.dll can not be installed"
"DoInstall fails to launch E:\PDE\CTXInst\Setup.inx"
I'm using "Windows XP 2002 home edition - serivce pack 2"

Hey Guys,Here is a link to instructions on how How to obtain and to install USB 2.0 drivers in Windows XP Service Pack . http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;Q329632?Win2000 and later have the capability to support USB 2.0, but USB 2.0 was released after XP was release, so there weren't any drivers installed before Windows XP service pack 2. Make sure you've installed all your windows updates including service pack 2. You can check if you have SP2 by right-clicking on my computer and choosing "properties", it will say on the general tab. Also the way to tell if you have USB 2.0 drivers installed is to right-click on my choose "Manage", then choose "device manager" look down to "uni'versal serial Bus controllers" and click on the + . This will expand the USB devices. Look for the word "enchanced" (USB enhanced host controller). If you see it, then you have USB 2.0 support. If not, use the link above and get the drivers. I have just bought creative webcam live pro, and i put in the instalation CD but it does contain the Creative webcam center...
anyone know what to do?

Webcam Live! Pro Software Problem

I just bought a Webcam Live! Pro and have tried to install the Webcam Center software but every time I get to the part of setup where the software begins to install, the program either crashes or locks my computer up. Any suggestions?

If your webcam software installation does not progress after stating that "Installation is in progress...", you can try to install it manually by running the individual setup files as follows:
1. Close all background programs including any Anti-virus application, and the webcam software installation program
2. Double- click the My Computer icon on the desktop.
3. Right-click on the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM dri've containing the webcam installation CD and choose EXPLORE
4. To install the webcam drivers, browse to the Drivers folder, and double click on the file CTDRVSTP.EXE. The Webcam drivers will be copied onto the system. In some case, you may need to browse to the English folder to locate the file CTDRVSTP.EXE.
5. To install the PC-CAM Center*, browse to the CamCenter folder, and double click on the file SETUP.EXE. The PC-Cam Center installation wizard will initialize, follow the prompts to complete the wizard.
I hope it helps.

Problems with webcam center

I bought webcam instant yesterday,i downloaded the newest drivers for it...
But it doesn't work.
Everytime i start webcam center the camera turns off...
I tried it with msn messenger...but it worked perfectly...
HELP!!!!

Webcam Live! is fully installed...but webcam center isnt functioning...??

i have installed the webcam live! software, and the hardware a few times now and every time i do it, restart my computer, and try to open up the webcam center to take a snapshot....webcam center loads...and after like 5 seconds it says something about an error and asks me to send an error report. When i close the error message, webcam center closes automatically and this happens every time...i've done the installation perfectly according to the instructions...it says there is a step when im supposed to click "continue anyway" but i havent had that come up at all. I install the software first, camera disconnected, then when i finish the software, it tells me to connect the cam, i do so, and it completes the installation. Yet, webcam center manages to keep giving me a headache every time i try to open it by freezing up and shutting down. i have a 2006 sony vaio top of the line computer so that shouldnt be the problem XP service pack 2 home edition. can you help please?

Hi anybody with a creative instant webcam just use program Compatibility Wizard in Vista takes about 20 mins to load but runs Fine. Hope this helps Richard

Webcam Center cant detect cam...

I just recently purchased a Live! Cam Voice on saturday. I followed the direction as to installing the device and its software. When i open Webcam Center its telling me that it cannot detect the camera. Ive unistalled the drivers and software numerous times after that to still no avail. The wierd thing is that the camera works on other webcam software such as camfrog. Ive look in the forums for how to resolve this issue, but didnt find any. Please tell me how to solve this before i exchange this to the camera i originally intended to purchase which was the MS Live Cam.

You are not alone, I've bought a Live! Cam Voice two days ago thinking to get top videos and instead I got literally nothing. I've experienced the same problem you have and, in addition to the tests you made, I've also installed the drivers downloaded from Creative website, without any result. The Creative customer support area in the website says that we have right to directly call by phone, for assistance, during 60 days after the purchase, but no telephone number appears so I had to write an e-mail to notify the problem. Have you done the same? I am quite disappointed. Regards

Alternative to Webcam Center

I've seen about 5 threads with people asking where to download Webcam Center, none of which has been answered, except for one person claiming that Creative charges 5 for a replacement CD. Well no way in hell am I paying anything for the software that I need to use my webcam (which Logitech lets you download for free for their cams). Since obviously Creative doesn't care much about their PAYING customers it looks like we just have to resort to NOT BUYING CREATIVE PRODUCTS or using 3rd party Webcam software. That is if it exists... Does anyone out there know of any freeware webcam software I can use for recording videos and taking pictures? Thanks guys!

you WANT users to sync it from THEIR DESKTOPS... if you WERE to run it through the SERVER, all synchronizations would occur using the servers' OneDrive account (well, whatever account you'd configure the server to use)... when using it from the desktop,
all changes occur using the INDIVIDUAL'S account.
Also, OneDrive is not a BACKGROUND / SYSTEM SERVICE... it is an APPLICATION... so it ONLY runs when you are LOGGED IN.
As far as sync and SP... there are some file names that simply aren't allowed... & is a COMMON issue, but it's NOT VALID in files, since it's a special character in website addresses.
Here's the big thing in my opinion, though... how much do you REALLY need ALL of the files to be sync'ed to EACH USER's desktop?

Need Help...Do I have The mother of all itunes software problems???

I am in desperate need of help. I have fried three new ipod touches in two days. I Purchased a new 32GB 2d Gen ipod touch on Mon. 11/24. Worked okay till Friday 11/28. When I tried to sync with new additions, a warning came up “the ipod could not be updated, an unknown error occurred (9)” That was followed by a windows vista windows warning “USB device not recognized”
When I disconnected the touch I found that it could not be started. Tried a forced restore pressing the sleep switch and the home button together. That did not work.
Brought the touch to my apple store genius bar on Saturday and they too couldn’t get it to work. They switched out the ipod with a new one. Brought the new one home connected it and it received the new ipod touch software download okay. But when it tried to sync the same problem repeated…the two pop up warnings as before and a second dead ipod!
I then synced my ipod classic with no problems, so it appears the itunes software is okay. I’ve scheduled another appointment with the local apple store genius bar again.
When I took the new fried touch back to the Apple genius bar, it was switched out again. It was activated (by the initial step ipod touch software download on their computer.
I brought my laptop with me so we could test the syncing. The syncing proceeded initially for several minutes, and then the dreaded pop up warnings appeared

The new replacement ipod touch was also fried.
The tech gave me yet another new ipod touch. He had never encountered such a problem and advised me delete and reinstall itunes and call the APL CARE 800 support number and go over the problem with one of their techs who have a broad range of experience in dealing with possible PC related issues.
As my other ipod has no problem syncing from the same laptop (Dell Inspiron 1520 using Vista) I am wondering if the problem might be a corrupted Itunes software problem that affects only the touch and not the ipod classics.
Has anyone heard of a bad itunes software related problem? I googled this and could find no info. Thanks for your help!

If you click View, Show Sidebar you will see the other libraries under Shared in the left hand column. Click on the Library you want and you can expand it to select Music, Movies etc. Select whatever items you want and click import if you want to move them to your Library.
You will have to have all computers authorised with the relevant Apple ID's
Store > Authorise this computer...
This is separate from the Home Sharing username and password and is to allow playing of DRM Movies, TV shows etc from the other computer.
If both Computers use the same apple id this step is not required.
