Creative mp3 and audiobo

It seems a bit silly to post a request for sales help to the forum, but the responses I get from Creative are nonsensical and never actually answer my questions, so here goes. I have a Zen V. After the firmware update that allowed transfer of large files (which Creative claimed was not a software issue), my Zen V worked great for a while. After a year, the battery no longer holds a charge for more than two hours at a time. What I did not realize when I bought it, is that there is no way to replace the battery. (When I emailed them, Creative's solution was to offer me a tutoring session for a fee.) It looks like I'm stuck having to buy a new player. As much as I have grown to hate Creative, I still like my Zen V and they still seem to have the best players for audiobooks. Unfortunately, no one seems to list important details in their product specs. I want something with a replaceable battery, bookmarking and full-time display. I really don't need more than 2 GB and want to keep the cost as low as possible. I don't need video. The Zen Micro seems to be the best option, but I haven't been able to locate it on Creative's website.
Does anyone know if the Micro is no longer being produced? The Stone with speaker could be an option, but does it have a replaceable battery and does it have bookmarking and full-time display? Are there any audiobook users out there that can make a recommendation?

The Creative Zen Micro (4,5,6 GB) and MicroPhoto (8GB) has the bookmark function.

  • Creative MP3 Players and Car Au

    Hello,
I'm a newbie and I don't know a lot about MP3 players so I hope you can help me out. I have a brand new Kenwood car audio with an USB cable to plug your MP3 player in. My friend's Samsung MP3 player doesn't work, after some research I find out that the MP3 player has to be an MTP one to work with the car audio. Now my question is: are all Creative MP3 players MTP maschines and do I have to make a software update or what ever to "make them be" a MTP player?
Thanks a lot for any support!

Are you sure about this? Which Kenwood is it exactly? The info I've seen on the Kenwoods say that the USB device must be MSC (not MTP).
Perhaps your friend's Samsung is MTP, and that's why it didn't work.

  • Device Stage and Creative MP3 players?

Will Creative support the Device Stage feature on Windows7 for their mp3 players? im just curious about this.

+thanks,is there a way to limit song searches to DRM free songs?+
Yes. The easiest way would be to do your online shopping at stores that *only sell DRM-free songs!* That includes amazon.com and audiolunchbox.com. The sell in MP3 format, which is fully compatible with both an iPod and a Creative. And no DRM in sight.
There are other stores that sell a mix of DRM and DRM-free songs, and if you shop at one of them you will need to be very attentive. That includes the iTunes Music Store, walmart.com, and the Zune Marketplace. For example, in the iTunes Music Store you would watch for the Plus sign which indicates DRM-free.

  • How can I connect my Creative mp3 Player and my car ste

I need to connect my Creative mp3 Player and my car stereo (Peugeot 407 standard car stareo). It haven't cassette player or an "AUX IN" hole. Any Idea?

Unfortunately (for us consumers) there are few options.
) Use an FM transmitter which does not work in your area.
    2) There was a post in this forum where the person had a device installed that would switch from the car antenna to an FM transmitter. So effecti'vely, the FM transmitter is spliced right into the antenna line into your car stereo. The theory is that it's either using the car antenna or your MP3 player, but never both. There are no competing FM stations. The use also said this cost them $200 .... which makes option 3 a better deal considering FM will decrease the fidelity of a MP3 player.
    3) Buy a car stereo with an input jack .. as SSR as sited.
    4) You can buy a cassette adapter ... if your current car stereo has a circa 20th century cassette player.
    5) Start a grass roots effort to lobby car manufacturers to put in a input jack in the car stereos. The American companies might be softened after this SUV bust.
If you pick #5, I'm available to stamp and stuff envelopes ......

  • My Forth Creative Mp3 Player and counting

I have just got my fourth creative Mp3 player. You would have though I would have learnt my lesson by now!
First one (Zen Micro)was faulty when purchased so went straight back to the shop.
Second (Zen Micro) lasted 8 months before stopping working one day.
Third (Zen Microphoto) lasted 3 months before the screen stopping working correctly.
Forth and current(Zen Touch 40gb)lasted 3 days before becoming faulty.
I've contacted support as it seems to have the same firmware error problem as numerous others. Is there a fix? I have seen so many threads but not many positi've results.
As far as I am concerned this is the last Creative player I shall buy. If they can't get me fixed up it's going back to the shop for a refund or exchange for anything but a creative player.
Do others have such a poor experience of Creative players or am I just having a bad experience?Message Edited by Ainslie on 07-0-20070:37 AM

I bought a 30gb Nomad Jukebox Xtra 3 or 4 years ago, and only now it quit on me. And only the LED screen, after going through a rainstorm; everything else still works. I just bought a 30gb Zen Vision M to replace her. So far so good. Defecti've products happen. So do unlucky people

  • Latest MediaSource Plugins for various Creative MP3 Players are now available for downl

Just went to the product support site. Guess what? The latest MediaSource plugins for the various Creative MP3 Players are now available for download. I am sure the latest plugins should have fixed several problems.
Don't forget to download the latest Creative MediaSource v3.30.2 too. Install the latest Creative MediaSource first before you install the MediaSource Plugins of your respecti've MP3 Players.
Note: According to the download site, the latest MediaSource plugins require you to have at least v3.20.57 of Creative MediaSource.

    Thanks micromouse
... but there's no new plugin for the original Jukebox
I've always had trouble connecting to MediaSource with my JB and was hoping for a new plugin to sort all my problems.

  • Creative MP3's have a short li

This is my second Creative MP3 that has just died(after the warrantee is over)! The first was the Zen Touch 40 GB=worked nicely for about 9 months, then blah. nothing. It would power on but give only error messages. The Creative help people said it was done for.
Now I have the MuVo 2 FM 5 GB. Same thing. Worked for over a year- then, without warning- just died- wouldn't even power on. Yes I tried all the reboot suggestions. Lucky I have all the stuff backed up on my laptop.
I am pretty disgusted. These players are not cheap. I have also purchased one of those cheap sanyo mp3's and it has worked for 3 years without a problem. Go figure.
Can anybody recommend a better product?
    Thanks ,
    Anne

  • Creative mp3/mp4 player with video aut conex

Hello, first of all, sorry for my English... but I?m from Spain. I visited your creative website, and I see most of the mp3/4 players of for page. The new Zen with 2,5" screen is increible. I searching for a player with the following specifications:?- Audio and video player. - At least 2,5" screen. - Ampliable memory by any memory card format. - And the most important for me, a external audio/video conexion, for conect it with a TV. I see the specifications of the Zen vision W. And all I need is in it. But the Zen vision W is to big for me, I?m searching something more portable, like dimensions of new Zen.
With product, have all of these specifications? Thanks in advance.

    Hello Philipp
    Okay, that worked, thanx!! :)
And well, not having HTML5 video playback is not a big issue I think. I mean, till now I only encountered low(er) quality playback when HTML5 is used. At least, my 1080 HD vids on YouTube are low quality on high settings when played with HTML5 enabled.

  • Creative MP3

Hi, I have a Creative MP3 player. I tried loading the software disc on Mac but it was not recognised. My whole library is on the MP 3 player and so I want to avoid building a whole new library. Is there anyway I can avoid this and transfer the library on the MP3 player to ITunes/library?

It's quite probable that you can access the player without using any software (this works with my Creative Zen). Simply plug it into your Mac and see whether it mounts on the Desktop. If it does then you can open it as if it were an external hard disk and drag the files from there into iTunes. (Just just drag them into the Library window and iTunes will copy them and index them.)

  • Creative MP3+ External soundcard support..

Does the Creative MP3+ External soundcard support "Stereo Mix"?

    @Creativeuser1
You still haven't tell us if you are using the X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro or the X-Fi Surround 5.1 .
    1. Did you activate any audio enhancements, like CMSS, crystalizer, etc..?
Go to the Entertainment Console and click on the Default checkbox. That should turn off all audio enhancements and reset all settings to default.
    2. This two products doesn't have Gaming or Audio Creation mode.

  • Creative MP3 Audio Pack: activation expired???

With installation of my "AudPack_PCApp_LB__0_0.exe" - I see new window in my browser "type your Activation Key and reason" - and answer:
[color="#FF0000">Your Activation Key for this software is expired. Please contact Customer Support for assistance.
Why? :smileysurprised:?Why my key is expired?!...
Ah, ok, ok, patience, just contact customer support...
And now I redig this site - to search of Customer Support - and what?!
    http://support.creative.com/contact/emailform.aspx- NOT WORKED NOW!!!
500 Internal Server Error (at http://support.creative.com/Errors/GenericErrorPage.aspx?aspxerrorpath=/contact/emailform.aspx)?!
Why don't work my purchased key?! Why don't work your customer support?! Why don't work your site?
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH MY LOVELY (at last 20 years) CREATIVE?!
P.S. Seriously: how to contact with Customer Support?

    Hi,
Sorry about that, please <a rel="nofollow" href="http://support.creative.com/contact/OnlineSalesForm.aspx]try this link[/url] then click on technical assistance. That should bring you to the support form, let us know if you are still having problems accessing the page.

  • Creative mp3 reliabili

do all these issues on this message board not tell you something?
i have had 2 creative zen 4gb mp3 players and both have gone wrong in a couple of weeks, very little actual direct support too.
i can definitly say that i wont be getting another one!
but some of their other products are ok, i.e cd dri'ves etc.

Well, I got my first Creative MP3 way back in 2004 and that was the Zen 20gb (the black brick) and it is working even today without me having to bring it down for servicing. I suspect that I will probably grow bored of it before it dies.
I also got a Creative MuVo V200 about the same time and although it is still working, I stopped using it because the screen is too small and now the memory size is too small. But it still makes a nice thumbnail **bleep** radio.
I got two new Zen, one 4gb (September 2007) and a 2gb (January 2008). Both are working great now. However, the 4gb did die a month after use and I got a replacement in October. The replacement is working great no problem as yet. I guess it probably all ends up with luck because if the failure rate is high, they would have issue a recall or something. So far each time I visit the Creative Stores in Singapore with the Service Centres, they are usually very empty, the most I see is like ?or 2?customers at the service centre. Most time, nobody is there.
I love my Creative products, I am currently using their keyboard, sound card. headphones and earphones.Message Edited by eddy2099 on 0-20-200808:09 AM

  • Creative MP3 players still RELIABLE??? (headphone jack/software) USERS OF NEW PRODUCT NEED

after BOTH of my zen micro has headphone jack problem and the error filled software for the zen micro, i doubt about it's reliability, i want to ask the people who use creative's new players (mp3/photo/video) to tell me what they experienced. because i never like Apple, but they are much more durable to use. They can withstand so much physical dmg and works perfectly, on the other hand, the smallest vibration/movement caused the zen micro headphone jack's metal pieces to go out of place(have no contact on the male connector for headphones)
please tell me ur experiences of the newer Creative mp3/video players

i've owned 3 creative and i only had problems with the zen xtra and thats one of their older players, with the zen micro and vision m i havent had any problems including the headphone jack, and i put my players through some rough times so i think their improvin upon the quality/durability overall
