This is part of the message since you cannot post such a long message in posting.
This should show how lost you might be with your warranty. If you install the Firmware Upgrade .8.02 your player might be useless. There is no way to make it work again. Not really. If you understand what Creative seems not to do. So dear user - buy a new player. If you want to know what the solution is to make your player work again post here. If there are enough postings I will explain it here. Too sad that Creative does not do it. It is their job not mine... But again - I am not talking about a problem what is nice to have it solved. I am talking about a player that does not work anymore. If you do not want to wait for my solution just send your player for repair - it was not your fault that it does not work anymore...
This story with the great support was a test of Creative and will be used in a review. So be not surprised to find it somewhere else.
Here the Creative support story. The first mail is at the bottom. I had to make part and part 2 since you cannot post such a long message here.
To: Creative Labs Asia Customer Support <]>Subject: Re: CLA (CTL) - Technical Support Request - (MuVo TX FM) (KMM7755874I6636L0KM)Dear,I know the solution long time already. I just wanted to test the support at Creative. The problem is real and forces owners of your players to buy a new one since their playes get useless after the upgrade. Not only that Creative puts a faulty upgrade on their homepage - their support is good for nothing. But this was a test of the Creative support. I hardly can believe that Creative is not in the position to solve a very simple problem caused by Creative - what has severe consequences for their customers. But this mail story confirms exactly this. So my advice to any customers - stay away from this company and their products - what is the final result of my test. If you want to know the solution for the problem please contact me again - I am glad to help such a poor company :-)))) For free? I am not so sure...since my player was not for free too...Best Regards,PeterPS: The product is still within the "police period" of my dealer. And I did not just buy the product. • Lost CD of creative MuVo V100 2GB

I lost my CD of my MuVo V00 2GB. I need the Creative Media Explorer where you can transfer songs to the player and set the order of the songs. Is there a download for it's My firmware is .05.0e. I already looked here http://support.creative.com/Products...ame=MP3+Player but the software I need is not listed there.
Thanks in advance

Re: Lost CD of creative MuVo V00 2GB8 The software is at FileSavr file hosting.
This is the creative labs software for the Muvo mp3 player. This version will work for Windows XP. I did not upload these to infringe on any copyrights, I uploaded them so that people who have lost their Muvo software for XP can reclaim it. The version of the software on this site is for Vista only.
Here are the files:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/a0456f/n/muvo_exe
another version:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/a045...o_software_nbi
The first is a winraw file. Put it on your hard dri've, extract, and it should install. The second version is for folks who have nero. Download it, burn it onto a CD, then instal it from the CD. Either way, if anyone finds this useful, I strongly suggest you burn a copy and save it for yourself. The files will only stay on the site as long as people keep downloading them. Once the files are gone from the site, that's it. I will not upload them again.

• Lecture of protected music on Creative MuVo

Hi,
I submit the following problem :
I have transferred on my Creative MuVo TX Go protected music whose I have the license and I can listen on my computer. But the player didn't read them : he directly passes to non-protected files. I have checked : all my files are .wma, then the problem doesn't come from it. I don't understand given that I can perfectly play this music with Creative Media Source from my player when he is connected to my PC.
Anybody has a solution? How can I "make understand" to my player I have the license of this music? Of course I am going to give you precisions if necessary.
Thanks.

Locked music must be transferred with either MediaSource or Windows Media Player.

• Creative MuVo Question

Hello, i just got a creative muvo TX and i love it. But i dont get something. Whenever i try to play a WMA file on it, it just skips over it and plays the next song. why is this? please let me know

Mash,
Are these WMA's downloaded from a music store or ripped within Windows Media Player? It may be that they have Digital Rights Management on them. If so you will need to make sure you are using Windows Media Player or MediaSource to transfer them and not just drag and dropping. DRM protected files requires a transfer using one of these two programs. Otherwise they don't play and just get skipped.

How exactly do you do this? I checked this out tonight - when I logged onto my PC using my son's Limited User account (XP Home, BTW) I could connect his N200 and see it in Device Manager and Windows Explorer but both Creative pieces of software (CMS and N200 Media Explorer) did not see that it was there!
I tried setting the Run As... properties for the CTMS.exe file to run as one of the Admin user accounts but kept getting an error about being unable to find a specific file (which is in the Media Explorer folder!). When I went back to using the current user the error stopped. Perhaps I need to set the Run As.. options on that file as well?
As we don't use DRM'd music this isn't going to be a problem but it would be good to find out the cause of this once and for all.

• Creative MuVo TX FM - powers down when scrolling (how to f

I recently purchased a 28Mb Creative MuVo TX FM and thought I might share my experience with other members of this forum.
Not being experienced with MP3 players I duly followed the instructions and copied some wma files from my XP PC onto the MP3 player via USB / Windows Explorer, preset the FM stations and I was away. Oh the joy of having it work first time!
However, whenever I fast forwarded 3 songs or rewound about 4 songs using the scroller, the unit would instantly power down without warning. I thought it was a damaged file (or two) so deleted what I thought were the damaged songs ..... without success. The battery was brand new and the indicator on the LCD showed a full charge but I changed it anyway, without success. Oh the agony of new technology!
So I pulled out the CD, read the manual, found the creative website, found this forum and then ..... nothing! I did a search on the forum and found one other person who had similar problems (there may be more but maybe it was my search words) but I couldn't find a suitable answer. There is nothing in the Creative Knowledge Base and insofar as I can see, no relevant FAQ's.
Back on the Creative webpage I found a firmware upgrade here and after downloading and installing the firmware upgrade (and a reformat courtesy of the upgrade) and reloading the songs, hey presto! Problem solved!
So thanks to Creative for the support and if you are experiencing the same problem (auto shut down when scrolling), try downloading and installing the firmware upgrade per the link above.
Andrew.

Interesting...
I'm glad you were able to solve your problem. I received my MuVo TX FM 52MB with firmware .2.04 and upgraded it to .3.03, but fortunately never had your problem.
Do you know which version you used while experiencing the shutdown-problem?
Not that it is important to me, I'm just curious.

• Creative MuVo v100 cleaning

Creative MuVo v00 cleaning So I have the Creative MuVo v00, gb model. I've had this mp3 player for many years, and enjoy it greatly. It still plays music fantastically, and I love the design. I wish they still made mp3 players with this design. I would love to get an 8gb device with this design, but alas it does not exist.
Anyways, over the years of having this mp3 player in my pocket EVERYWHERE, dust has built up on the inside of the screen. Between the outer screen and the inner display. It is at the point now where I can't make out the display anymore. I am wondering if there is a way I can safely clean this. Is there a way I can remove that screen cover, clean it, and then replace it, without destroying my Mp3 player?
Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

mine is/was pretty dirty too. ?It recently got wet and stopped working. ?After letting it dry for a day, it still refused to work. ?In desperation I dunked it, without the battery half, into slightly soapy water and shook it vigorously, ?After spending another day drying, it worked! ?And the screen was even a little cleaner. ?Obviously, dunking your otherwise perfectly working MuVo into water to clean the screen is not something I would recommend. ?But it worked for mine.

• Creative MuVo TX SE (1 GB) supports which USB 2.0 - type (low-,full-,highspeed

Hi there!
I would like to buy this player, but there is one thing I am still thinking about.
This player supports USB 2.0, but which type?
I mean, there are players which *seem* to be fast, but they are only compatibel! to USB 2.0, so one can use it, but not at the expected speed (only at USB .).
There are 3 "speed types" of USB 2.0:
lowspeed (,5 Mbit/s)
fullspeed (2 Mbit/s)
highspeed (480 Mbit/s)
And when the description of the Creative MuVo TX SE ( GB)is right, it should support highspeed, right?

Just noticed the last line of the firmware instructions:
[*]This firmware removes your player's FM recording feature.

Please make sure you are aware of this before using this firmware
