Creative MuVo2 F

hey people...i have a creative MuVo2 FM and i was listening to it when it only had one bar of battery left. As i kept listening to it, it died and now i can no longer turn it on and i have misplaced my charger. Also i have a Zen MicroPhoto and it says that I can charge the MuVo2 FM via usb cable but doing this does not charge the battery.. Can anyone please help me? Do i need to buy a new battery? please help anyone..
Thanks
Chris.

Chris,
Other than suggesting you to find your misplaced charger so you can charge your player, I don't think there is anything else to suggestion. The MuVo? does not support USB charging in a similar way as the Zen MicroPhoto player so a USB charger won't work with it.

  • Creative Muvo2 FM freezing on start

    Hi everyone,
If anyone can help me with this I'd greatly appreciate it. My muvo froze the other day on a song, and wouldn't turn off - after removing the battery and replacing it, it gets stuck on the 'Muvo2 FM' screen won't do anything else, and it doesn't get recognized on a PC.
Any ideas? I'm currently in Thailand on holiday, so am unable to check with customer service or warranty info.
    Thanks!

Thanks for replying Glenzen. I've tried that a few times, as well as just connecting it to AC without battery, and just USB, but it keeps freezing on the Muvo2 screen. Oh well, biggest pain is all my music is lost now!

  • A question for Creative Muvo2 FM

Will Creative ever going to create & released an LCD Remote Control for this model? Why haven't they bundle a remote control for this mp3 player just like its previous models like the .5 & 4gb model even though they don't have FM.

The MuVo? 5GB FM Player does come bundled with a wired remote. Did you purchase this as new retail package off the shelves? Check the package content listing on the box and see if it's written there.

When i rotate the clip of the headphone in the player around at one point i've got the normal qualitiy. the player is now over 3 or 4 years old.
    What can I do?
The Serial Number in the player is: MPF036044000226V
Thanks for your help and sorry for the bad english I'm from Germany.. ;-)

There's a limit with the MuVo players of 28 files in the root, so chances are there's the same file system limitation with the MuVo?. The way to get around it is to simply use folders to organies your files, so delete at least some files then you should be able to create folders.

  • Volume drop on MuVo2

My Creative MuVo2 4gb didn`t transfer new songs from computer to player. It always got stucked after had transferred couple of songs. I reloaded firmware, it didn`t help but after formatting the whole thing it started to work properly again. Only problem is that volume level has dropped. I tried with severeal different headphones but same thing in all of them. Of course some of them play louder than others, but volume level has clearly dropped. Now when the volume is at full it still sounds like normal level. Anyone ? I tried everything i know, firmware didn`t help. This player is maybe 3-4 years old.

Of course I can't be sure, but this indeed sounds like a software bug to me.
I would start by going to iTunes > Preferences > Playback and unchecking Sound Check. I would also turn the EQ completely off. These two recommendations, by the way, should go a long way to improving the quality of anyone's experience with iTunes. However, the unfortunate truth is that these two things are on by default.
Sound Check adds a bunch of extra junk to the tags of every file in your iTunes library (use a robust player like foobar2000 on a PC to verify this) and then puts an increased demand on system resources whenever you play your music because iTunes has to read all this extra information in the song tags and adjust volume as playback goes on, etc.
It sounds like when you perform any tag updating, something goes haywire with the Sound Check fields of the tags. Your opinion may differ, but playing an album with the quiet sounds made loud and the loud ones made soft doesn't make any sense, so it's good to just turn off Sound Check and let iTunes ignore the extra fields that have been added to the tags of all your files.

  • Help - Muvo2 not seen by Window

Problems with my Creative Muvo2 4GB:
Recently changed MoBo and now my Muvo will not talk to my PC. It shows up in Device manager but no as a dri've in My Computer. It shows in the "Safely Remove Hardware" wizard as well. trouble is that when I try to do so the computer freezes until I disconnect the muvo "unsafely". The same when I try to view "Properties" under device manager. On the few occassions when it has shown up as a dri've any attempt to use it has crashed the computer, requiring a reset.
    This is what I know:
The Muvo is up-to-date and working. It plays music and connects fine to other PCs.
The USB cable is fine (see above).
My USB ports all work, both off the MoBo and a hub. All my other USB hardware works in every USB socket(mouse, keyboard and modem. I even successfully tried a USB hard dri've).
I have the most recent drivers and software for everything, from the BIOS up (it is a new install).
    System as below:
    AMD64 3500 winchesterMSI K8N Neo4 Platinum MoBoXFX 6600GT gfx card gig RAMAudigy 22 dvd dri'ves2 hard dri'vesAntec Neopower 480W PSU
Any help welcome, this is driving me nuts cos I love my little Muvo!

I should say that it freezes rather than crashes, and only the reset button will restore it.
To be honest I don't think that solution will work. When the Muvo does show up in my computer it shows up as dri've G, and so has an unique ID already. Also that article seems a little contradictory. If the muvo doesn't show up in My Computer how can you select it in My Computer as stated? Anyway, I'll try it tomorrow.
If I have the muvo plugged in a startup then it is always recognised, but still freezes the PC when I attempt a file transfer. The PC usually unfreezes if I disconnect the muvo. The muvo tells me it needs to be scanned (which I have to do on another PC cos attempting on my PC will freeze it lol).
I may try reinstalling the USB drivers. Since all the other hardware works this probably will not help either, but I'm clutching at straws now.
    Any other suggestions gratefully received.

  • Low volume, just recently Help plea

Hi, I have an Creative Muvo2 ,5 GB and since yesterday, and most of the time the volume is very low, but sometimes the volume rises again, I think the problem is the headphone jack, I tried another headphone, but it gave the same effect. what can I do about this?
Thanks in advanceMessage Edited by Shaves on 2-07-2005 06:3 PM

Headphone jack problems are not unknown in the MuVo?, but they are rare. Unforunate to hear you've got one. About all you can do is contact support, which you should definitely do if you are under warranty. Click the Support > Contact Customer Support link on this page
If not under warranty you can still contact support to get an out of warranty repair, but beware it's likely to be expensi've. You can always check with your local TV repair shop to see if they'll repair it, as it's most probably a partially broken solder connection with the circuit board.

  • [HELP] Mu

    Hello there,
I'm from the Netherlands and I've bought my Creative MuVo2 about 2 years ago.
Last week, when I was listening music while cycling, my mp3 stopped playing.
So I took my mp3 out my pocket and saw: "Recovery Mode v.00"
Well since that happened, if I start my mp3 player, I don't see the screen: "Loading Music" any more, but it makes a weird noise and after one minute it goes to the recovery mode again. Now I've read some things about updating firmware. But when I try to connect my mp3 to my PC, my PC doesn't read it and on my mp3 it says: "Media Error".
So do I really have to format all before my mp3 will work again? Or is there another solution.
    Kinds regards,
    Tijn
P.S. ( Sorry if my English is a little bad, I'm 4 years old )

I remember when I first got my Muvo2 (in eary 2004), when I turned it on I got the "media error" message. I just kept removing/replacing the battery, over and over again. Eventually it worked again. I got the error only a few more times after, and I fixed it the same way. Sometimes I would hit the player against my palm a few times. That worked too. I haven't gotten the problem again, after those few times. There's still hope.
