I understand that you have a Zen Vision M 60GB and that you would like to know how much it is to get the battery replaced. • Problem starting up my Creative Nomad Jukebox Zen X

Ok well I have a 40GB Creative Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra, and have had it for about a year. Now earlier today i was attempting to connect it to my computer to copy songs onto it. The battery ran out and i was not able to do this.
When turning my player back on, it got stuck on the loading screen that says EAX and did not move from this. When it is on this screen, i can't turn it off.
I let the battery run out to see if it would start when i then charged it, yet the same happened, and it turns on as soon as i put in the charger it is again stuck on this one loading screen.
I have pressed reset as well, and this makes no difference, it just loads up to the same screen and doesn't move. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you!Message Edited by mattyb23 on 09-25-2005 06:23 PM

Go into rescue mode and run a disk cleanup.

  • CREATIVE CTMUVON200512same as MUVoN micro n200 5

Found this cheap mp3 player that looks exactly the same as n200 but it doesn't seem to have equalizer and no ID3-tag support. But I can't find no information about this CTMUVON n200 on Creative's page... so does it even exist? or have the site i visited just screwed up on information? here's the adress to the page:

specs seem kinda weird too... it's 3 cm long and doesn't support id3 tags either.
    please help

    Hi jacobr
It certainly looks like the Muvo Micro N200! The official dimensions are:
    Size (WxHxD): 33.5 mm x 65.5 mm x 3.0 mm
ID3 tag support is limited - only titles are displayed if available. If not then filenames are shown.
It does have an equalizer - 5 presets and also a 5-channel custom setting.

  • Unable To Repair/Update Firmware for a Creative Nomad Jukebox

    Hello all,
I've been trying for the past...3 or 4 hours to get my player to work, but it simply refuses to work =P. I sent the problem into Creative, but haven't gotten a response for a couple days now. So, here's a copy-paste of what I sent in that e-mail. If you can think of anything that might help, please don't hesitate to post! I really need your help on this one!
My player's hard dri've recently died, and I received
a replacement from the original store (a CompUSA).
However, my Firmware for the device has failed. I
tried the firmware upgrade for my Zen, but after
a certain number of tries, I gave up. Here is the
list of steps that I followed.
On Zen: Click "Reload OS", let it run, it says
    run the firmware upgrader now.
On Computer: "You cannot install this firmware
update with your player's current drivers using
the SB394 connector. To update your player's
    firmware, this application will temporarily
replace the current drivers and restore them after
    the installation is complete. Continue
installation?", I click Yes. Then it says to
disconnect, and re-connect. I do it.
It shows my version (.2.0), and I'm upgrading/
repairing it to .2.02. When I click "Upgrade", a
warning message pops up and says:
"Your player cannot start up properly. Please
reboot your player and run this application again.
I've done this at least 0 times, and nothing changes. My player is a Nomad Jukebox Zen, the one with a FireWire connection, and like I said,
I've tried this at least 0 times with the same results. Is there a process to completely remove
the firmware on the device, then reinstall it,
or to roll it back or something? Any other ideas
to fix this problem is needed as well.

    Bump.

  • Creative Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra Wont appear in the creative mediasource organiz

I plug it into the usb dri've, and it doesnt show up. I look on My Computer, and it shows up as an audio device, and other. I go to my mediasource organizer, and it doesnt show up. I can access it on my computer, but it takes longer and I have no way of organizing my songs. I tried to re-install it, but it still doesnt work. It also doesn't work on my brothers 60gb one. Any help?

    hol3_c4t,
Did you install the Nomad Jukebox Type 2 plugin also? If not, go to the download page and install those in order for the MediaSource application to identify the player.

  • Muvo Micro N200 and Muvo V

What information displays the screen of this Mp3 players? Title onf the song, letter, etc? Thans

As it shows the content of the id3 title tag and supports id3v2, i.e. no limitation to 30 characters or else, you may include all relevant information in this tag. I've written a small linux script, e.g., that sets the id3v2 TIT2 tag to title/track/album/artist/time before copying the files to my N200.
Thus, this is not as easy as a support of all or at least the most important id3 tags, but it is a feasible solution and also very flexible.
    Best regards

  • Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra 60 GB can't be found through Mediasource Organizer

I have been using the Creative Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra HDD Player since a few years and I have always been satisfied. But recently, I had a massi've computer problem, forcing me to do a complete re-install of Windows XP, without the chance to backup my old XP.
So of course I also needed to reinstall the Nomad Player. However, since I can't find the CD-Rom with the driver, I had to download (almost) everything.
At first I installed the drivers of the player and then I installed the Nomad Explorer (I still had that one on an old HDD). When I start the Nomad Explorer, the player connects and I can see the music that is stored on the player.
However, in the past I never used the Nomad Explorer, I always used Media Source Organizer. I think in the past I had Version 3 and later I updated it to Version 5. So now I went for Version instantly. I downloaded it and installed it. But here it starts to get strange. I closed the Nomad Explorer and disconnected the player, then I installed the Organizer. During the installation, I was told that the organizer can't find any supported devices, I should connect and start the player and try again. So I did. This time, the installation finished itself - but when I startet Media Organizer, it couldn't find my player.
I once read something like that you need at least Windows Media Player 0 or . Since I had 9, I installed 0, but that didn't change a thing.
So, does anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong ? Or maybe I forgot to install some normal Windows stuff, that is required by Media Organizer ? For example, I haven't installed DirectX yet (but I tell you that just as an example, I don't think that it's DirectX related)

You need the Creative Nomad Jukebox? plug-in 5.00.22 for Creative MediaSource5 found here.http://support.creative.com/Products...me=MP3+Players

  • Nomad Explorer not detecting Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra after firmware upgr

<blockquote dir="ltr">From the firmware thread: "The Creative drivers shouldn't make any difference. An MTP device is looking for the Windows Media Player 0 MTP driver (which is installed with WMP0)."[/quote]Is that why my updated Zen Xtras (40G and 60G) are no longer recognized by Nomad Explorer on Windows XP? XP sees them. MediaMonkey sees them (and can synch). (WMP0 is installed, but I haven't tried it.) Nomad Explorer (3.0.0, 22 Sep 2004) says nothing's detected. Is this because I'm still using the latest driver (2.0.00), which the Creative download site says only supports firmware below 2.00.00. (If so, interesting choice by Creative, making us downgrade the driver.)?I wouldn't care, but Nomad Explorer is the only way (I know of) to edit the devices' names and startup bitmaps. And I wouldn't even care so much about the bitmaps, but I really really want to edit the names so that I can tell them apart in MediaMonkey's list of devices. Can we still use Nomad Explorer? Which driver should I be using? Creative's download section is anything but clear:?2.0.00 (8 Oct 2006): Supports XP but the firmware must be below 2.00.00.
.30.03 (3 Sep 2005): Supports XP but was released before firmware 2.0.03, so does it support it's?There's also a legacy OS Driver for Windows 2000 (.0.00, 27 Feb 2006) which specifically says it supports PFS players. Is this what I need? Can we no longer use Nomad Explorer on XP (even though it's listed as a download)?

Thanks, but if the Nomad Explorer requires the suite to work, I'll just have to do without it. The Creative Suite is better than it used to be, but IMO it's still not as good as MediaMonkey. Still, Creative doesn't list the Suite as being required for Explorer to work, so I don't think that's it. From the Download page:?Requirements
Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Millennium Edition or Windows 98 Second Edition<
Creative NOMAD Jukebox 2, 3, Zen, Zen USB2.0, Zen NX, Zen Xtra or Zen Touch<
I'll try the other driver tonight and see if that's it.

  • Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra Firmware Update Issue

My player does not get recognized after attempting to update firmware (ZenXtraP4SAudible_PCFW_LB_2_0_03.exe) according to website instructions.
When turned on the player displays "Firmware Problem" for a fraction of a second, then it goes into Rescue Mode v., Boot v.4, HW v0.0., 4 items in the menu ( Clean Up; 2 Format All; 3 Reload OS; 4 Reboot)
    This is my setup:
Kernel version: Microsoft Windows XP, Multiprocessor Free
    Product type: Professional
    Product version: 5.
    Service pack: 3
    Kernel build number: 2600
    IE version: 8.0000
    System root: C:\WINDOWS
    Processors: 2
    Processor speed: 2.6 GHz
    Processor type: AMD Athlon(tm) 7750 Dual-Core Processor

    Relevant Applications:

    Creative MediaSource
    Creative NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra
    Windows Media Format Runtime
    Windows Media Player 0
    Please advise, thanks in advance,

    Problem solved!
I did not follow the link you provided, thanks for the suggestion anyway. I read in another post that you advised to disable the device in Device Manager, although I took a different route. This is what I did after enabling Mediasource DETECTOR
. Completely uninstall Windows Media Player , revert to WMP 0, inlcuding the Runtime
    2. Reboot the PC
    2. Once rebooted connect the player to the PC
    3. right click MY COMPUTER->MANAGE->DEVICE MANAGER
    4. Under Windows Portable Devices right click NOMAD JUKEBOX ZEN XTRA, then select Update Drivers
    5. Navigate to "C:\Program Files\Creative\Jukebox 3 Drivers" to select the driver, OK all the windows
    6. Run ZenXtraP4SAudible_PCFW_LB_2_0_03.exe with the player connected
    7. I was prompted if I wanted to replace the Firmware with the same version (2.0.03) I said yes... within seconds the player came back to normal.
I hope that the above can help people in my same situation. The culprit seems to be WMP and all the hidden software installed with it. Freakin Microsoft!
Final question. Now that the firmware has been updated, am I safe by installing WMP ?
    Thanks!

    - Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 from your product download site. Make sure that you install this first before installing the rest of the MediaSource plugins listed below.

  • Nomad Jukebox - new computer, no install di

    Hi,
As the title says - I have an older Jukebox (DAPAG0) that I like, and would like to add new tunes to. I have a new computer (XP), and can't find the old install disks.
I've read two older threads, and searched for *ware on the Creative support site, but I can't make heads or tails of it.
My Device Manager gives a big yellow ? for this device, says it has no driver.
Looking on the Creative site, I see a list of files.
I tried to install " 7. Creative NOMAD Jukebox driver (844.50KB)" and ". NOMAD Jukebox Driver Installer (844.7 KB)", which tell me "Please reconnect device" for the driver to take effect. No dice.
I have tried to install "2. Creative MediaSource Software Update version 2.03.29 (39.46 MB) 24 Aug 05" and a Creative Media Source version 3 that was linked in the other thread. Both of these self-extract, then I get an install shield that says "Unable to detect" no matter how many times I disconnect and reconnect, turn on and turn off, the player.
Please help?! Many thanks in advance.

  • Nomad Jukebox Protected Tra

Greetings, I have an old Creative Nomad Jukebox (6gb). There are about 3 gigs of music that are on it right now. What I need to do is transfer all the mp3s to my computer's hard dri've. I know how to do it through MediaSource, but the problem is that about 3/4 of the tracks are protected and it will not transfer the tracks that are protected. I have looked through the Jukebox's settings and I cant find any options to unprotect the tracks. I have also looked everywhere in MediaSource and cant find any options to unprotect the tracks there either. I have already gone to nomadness.net and tried the mass unprotect program...it gets errors and i've tried it on two of my computers already, both running windows xp. I have even downloaded PlayCenter2 and tried that, there arent any options in there as well.
So am I missing somewhere to unprotect the tracks or can it just not be done? If it cant be done i will have lost a lot of music that took a very long time to get. Thanks for your help.

If the battery is more than a few years old may be time for a new one. Lots of sellers on ebay . A few have the OEM batteries for sale. I would only buy the OEM ones.

  • Sorry Apple, but I miss my Creative Nomad

I've had my iPod less than a month and am having some real issues with the iPod. While it has the nicety of being able to view album art, photos and a photo slideshow, the main feature I REALLY miss with my Creative Nomad Jukebox was the ease of creating AND EDITING playlists on the go. I could save it as a certain name, add songs, remove songs from that playlist or just about anything - and did NOT have to be hooked up to my computer to do it.
Apple really needs to incorporate a better on-the-go playlist editor.

Hopw about sending feedback to Apple about this? (See the small print at the bottom of this page)
