Creative On-Line Registrat

I have an issue with Creative's on-line registration process. I can't seem to get the applet off my computer without impacting my sound drivers/settings.
Here is some background information. Got a new PC for the holidays that came with a Creative modem. Next I added an Audigy2 ZS and Zen Micro. I registered all the product on-line.
When I removed the shortcut for Creative registration from my desktop, it appears that some of my sound drivers were removed and my EAS was disabled (missing drivers).
I reinstalled the drivers, but of course, the on-line registration shortcut is back.
I find this rather intrusi've......how can I get rid of my Creative registration files without impacting my sound drivers and settings?
LuvMusic

The link for the Creative registration that's on your desktop doesn't tie into the soundcard drivers in any way. It sounds more like a coincidence, unless you deleted other files aswell.
Deleting the shortcut doesn't delete the registration files, it'll only delete that shortcut, but it doesn't affect any other files.

  • Product Watch: Creative Realigning Line

We've all been talking about the new offerings from the fruity side of the street and the impact on Creative's product lines. We may even have seen something of a response from Creative in the pricing of its products as offered by a large, well-known reseller of theirs (J&R Music). What's next?
Well, I happened to click on the link for Nomad World by accident and saw the MuVo Slim now described as being offered in 28MB and 256MB models. Gi'ven that the MuVo Slim was offered in 256MB and 52MB models up until this announcement, could this be a sign of the impending release of the GB Zen Micro? Personally, I hope not.
I see the MuVo Slim as one of the MP3 players that Creative needs to keep. Why? Because it is easily the most stylish and therefore potentially cool (to be hyped) players they've got. A replaceable battey shared with other models means that there's some economy of scale that can help keep prices down in some areas. Plus the Muvo Slim points the way to the form factor that is going to be greatly desired in another 5 years or so as flash memory density goes up while the cost of the parts go down. A 5GB flash-based player will be able to appeal to a wider audience, especially those interested in having a very acti've physical lifestyle (since hard-dri've based players don't have very long li'ves when subjected to repeated and harsh shocks).
Creative, please rethink reducing the capacity of the MuVo Slim. The M-Slim should come in 256MB, 52MB, and GB capacities at least (although you could ditch the 256MB option and just have 52MB / GB). If you are ditching models, get rid of the gum-pack (TX/NX/N200) and square patty shaped MuVos (X-Trainer, and MuVo2 modets.

  • Name ur ideal creative player lin

Basically that's how Apple succeds where creative fails they have a few players that are simple and make them perfect. creative just has a hundred or so players that all have their own problems. If they don't do sumthing, they'll never catch up. I think they should have the v plus, microphoto, vision m, only the best player designed like the tx fm, and the sleek photo. They should also have just black and white screened player 4 ppl on a budget that want a good player. there's more of wut I think in the zen neeon 2 announced thread by trance. name ur ideal player lineup

Although I commend Creative for recognising that people have different tastes, all these new players are getting too confusing. I don't think they should stop supporting the older ones, but I think they should be discontinued. As soon as players with video become as cheap as monochrome players two years ago, we should be looking at a line-up like this:
two-hand hard dri've multimedia player = Zen Vision
    large-capacity hard dri've MP3 player with video = Zen Vision M
    medium-capacity flash dri've MP3 player with video = Zen V Plus
    small-capacity flash dri've MP3 player = Zen Nano Plus
It is a shame as I personally find the look of the sleek/photo very appealing, but sacrifices have to be made. The muVo line should be discontinued: Creative players need to become synonymous with 'Zen'. Creative should focus on future generations of these players, whilst giving a few more firmware updates to their predecessors. We could see an 80GB Vision M, or a Nano Plus with a colour screen. I think this will help Creative win market share.

  • A Creative ViZen line would sell like crazy

    Some constructi've critisism.
Creative's archille's heel is that they always come up with crappy names for their mp3 products.
Why does Creative always come up with names for their products that are hard to remember and easily confused with other products that they have?
Why can't they just come up with a name that is short and sweet, distinct and easy to remember? The longer the name, the easier it is to forget.
That's a big reason that the iPod is so huge. The name is so easy to remember and its catchy. There is a certain flow to the term "apple ipod" and it sticks in people's heads. It makes marketing very easy.
Zen Vision:M ? come on... that's so easily confused with their Zen Vision.. uh is there a Zen Vision Sleek too? I forget... it's hard to keep track.
    ANYWAY its so obvious...
"Zen" *is* a great base for a name. "Vision" makes sense too because of what the product does.
But Creative Zen Vision? Yeah its a logical name but it has absolutely *no* ring to it. No flow. It's hard to remember. it makes marketing pretty difficult if people can't remember what the product is called.
Creative Zen Vision:M is even worse. That's an even bigger mouthful. And what does the M stand for anyway? It's not memorable.
What's easier to say? What's easier to remember? "Apple iPod" or "Creative Zen Vision:M"?
So... instead of Creative Zen Vision:M..
Why not call it simply.. Creative ViZen?
Sounds like... Creative Vision.. that would be pretty catchy I think... Creative ViZen.
Something easy for ppl to remember. After all, "creative vision" is a common phrase that everybody has heard hundreds of times. By putting the "Zen" name in it.. i think that would sell alot better than a mouthful / hard to remember name. Why didn't anyone at Creative think of it's It's so obvious :P
And models can be differentiated with a number to signify gigabytes so this first one can be called the...Creative ViZen:30
If the next one is 60 gigabytes then obviously it would be called the.. Creative ViZen:60
People would know the capacity of the product without having to read the fine print! Now wouldn't that be amazing?
Anyway, their naming strategy needs work.
    A possible conversation:
"hey what do u have there?""a Creative Zen Vision:M""uh.. creative zen.. whats that?""its like an iPod but better""oh its a knock off"
    this would sound better:
"hey what do u have there?""a Creative ViZen""oh i've heard of those.. can i see?"
    Just my 2 cents
    Creative ViZen vs. Apple iPod
that sounds like a winnable marketing fight.and hey.. what the heck does "ipod" mean anyway?!?

Creative ViZen is more descripti've, catchy and easily attached to the name Creative.
If you're just some person in the street and hear the word "zen", you think of some buddist meditation thing.
If you hear the word "vizen", you make a connection to the word "vision" and Creative has made a big step towards brand recognition because it plays on the phrase "creative vision" that *everybody* has heard hundreds and even thousands of times.
ViZen would be "their own" word.
    iPod is Apple's word.
    Get it's
Zen aint their word. It's been around for centuries and the word Vision has been around even longer.
The number of words is less important than the number of syllables.
    apple ipod = 3
    creative vizen = 4
Creative Zen Vision:M is 7 syllables for crying out loud and it doesn't even tell the casual person on the street what it is. It's clunky and cumbersome. No flow.
Its also confusing giving 2 products the same name. There is the portable media player and this mp3 player. They just put a :M at the end which means nothing to Joe Blow. What the...
I am actually more informed that the average person. Ever been to their store/buying page? zen touch zen sleek zen nano zen touch zen etc... and they all look the same. I was confused and I can imagine Joe Blow going to the online store and seeing all this zen stuff, getting all confused and saying "to heck with it, i'll just get an ipod, at least i'll know what i'm getting" Why confuse the customer? Not good.
Even though Zen Micro is a good name, it doesn't say anything... apart from being a small "zen"
Creative is seen as a follower but that shouldn't be the case.
I remember when all they had were sound cards and the nomad, or nomad jukebox and that was years before the iPod. I was lookin for drivers for my sound card and i see a "nomad" thing mentioned. I didn't know what it was until i looked at the product page then forgot about it.
Even then, they just called everything nomad, which is an odd word and it starts with the word "no"
Not a good selling point either.
Creative sure knows how to shoot themselves in the foot when it comes to naming their mp3 products :P
I heard something about marketing once and it was this. You can have the best product the world has ever seen but if you don't have a marketing strategy, you have nothing.
Just look at AMD. They are where they are because they had a plan since 999 when they came out with the Athlon cpu. "Athlon" didn't mean anything but that was ok because it was short, sweet and it was *their* word. Now "Athlon" means something and when you hear that word, you think of AMD.
The main thing is that they gave more bang for the buck vs Intel's cpus. But they also had a strategy when it came to mass appeal and came up with a good, short, distincti've name that is *theirs* I have always been a big AMD fan and was one of the first on their bandwagon. I had bought the brand new, top of the line cutting edge Athlon XP 800+... woohooo! (upgrading now to an Opteron 65 )
See what AMD does? They *invent* nice words. Athlon, Opteron, Sempron.
With the Zen Vision:M, Creative is giving more bang for the buck than Apple, but "Zen" and "Vision" are ordinary words that will never be glued to Creative the way that Athlon is glued to AMD or the way iPod is glued to Apple.
I always root for the underdog that deli'vers more bang for the buck. Which is why I chose AMD over Intel and which is why I would like to see Creative not shoot themselves in the foot with these brutal names.
I have never owned an mp3 player before but when I do, it will be a Creative mp3 player. *NO* way will I buy an iPod. I was actually considering the Zen Micro Photo but this product is very good too and eventually will probably end up getting a Creative Zen Vision:M... "whatever that is" LOL

  • On-line store and how to contact Creative directly???

5On-line store and how to contact Creative directly?CHi everybody. Came up with the following problem: I'm from Ukraine and I'm not able to buy anything from Creative on-line store.... I mean you don't send products to Ukraine. Why is that? Is that so difficult? Just to send it by express or regular mail? Anyway I pay forward for everything.
Well, fine, may be there're some reasons for that. I've found your russian representati'ves and came up with the problem that they don't have on their web-site on-line store at all. Well, they have a link to it, but it's just a blank page....
Moreover I couldn't find any online help(chat) or e-mail or feedback form to write my questions. That is really annoying. The same situation was with apple online store....where I had to spent around 2 hours to find some online chat and ask.
No information on where to buy your products in Russia or in Ukraine, no on line store on russian web site, and finally impossibility to buy products in main on line store.
I would be greatfull for any information.
    THank you in advance

Well, I've been to this page. I can't send a message because I don't have yet any creative product and so I can't fill in the form few required fields (Date of purchase and serial number).
Is there any other way to contact creative?
    thanks for reply

  • Perhaps I'll have to take it back...was: Frustrated with lack of Creative Supp

Going nuts trying to get the X-Fi Fatality FSP card to work with my system. I've posted my woes and troubleshooting in this forum. I've called the Creative Support line and got a generic "try another PCI slot" suggestion. Also tried the email support, got a very prompt response along with "if this doesn't solve the problem reply" note.
Well so far nothing works. I've completed all the suggested "fixes" and have replied 4 times to the email with the results of their suggested approach and additional info/troubleshooting actions taken. Going on 2 weeks now and no reply, no additional hints.
ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO GET AND KEEP THE ATTENTION OF CREATIVE SUPPORT? The card sounds sooooo good in XP and I really want it installed on my new build. thanks, Steve? My system:CPU: Intel C2D E6700 3.50GHz 9x .475v Zalman 9700NT

Detailed problem description:? Sometimes the system hangs during install of the X-Fi driver. In this case I'll boot into Safe Mode, clean up the driver residue, reboot into Vista and try again. Once I can get the driver to install the system will then hang as Vista tries to start?(during the GUI screen after the bars pass 8-9 times). With the driver installed the system will boot into Safe Mode. I will then disable the X-Fi, boot into Vista, and then re-enable the X-Fi. The system will then hang as the X-Fi tries enable.
Thinking the X-Fi was bad I? installed it in an old DELL XP system. Works perfectly.
I've attempted various configurations, with all of them the X-Fi behaves EXACTLY the same as described above:
With the Realtek drivers installed, with/without the onboard audio enabled in BIOS<
Without the Realtek drivers installed, with/without the onboard audio enabled in BIOS<
Install X-Fi drivers before any nVidia?drivers (mobo or graphics)<
Install X-Fi drivers after nVidia mobo drivers, but no graphic drivers (default VGA graphics)<
    Install X-Fi drivers after graphics drivers (00.65 and 0.4) and without?mobo drivers<
Install X-Fi drivers after nVidia mobo and graphics drivers (00.65 and 0.4) installed<
With only one graphics card and X-Fi in the bottom PCI slot, all of the above<
With both graphics cards with/without SLI enabled (both 00.65 and 0.4 graphics drivers)<
    Install X-Fi Vista "clean boot"<
    Install Vista "no HAL" boot<
    Install Vista "2G ram boot"<
Install after update to EVGA P27 BIOS<
Install after update to gfx driver 0.7<
Try the X-Fi driver from the Microsoft Update site<
Increase the voltage for the mobo MCP and SPP<
    Disabled linkboost<
I am totally stumped. Is there by chance a firmware update for this card? Steve

  • Any New News on Creative Produ

As some of you may know, Creative is no longer selling or manufacturing the Zen Vision W. I wanted to know if any of you are aware of any new wide screen PVP players creative may have in the works, or is the "ZEN" the last PVP creative will make?

ZenV and V+ to be phased out, after the relaes of the Zen V video, to be replaced with the Creative Zen line ( the so called credit card sized players)
And a successor to the Zen Vision:M line with WiFi capability, with some more news due around April/March

  • Creative sucks - Favouring the iPod over their own playe

I think most people here would agree that Creative own line of mp3 Players which have surfaced over the last couple of years are by far some of the best on the market. While Creative havent done such a brilliant marketing job as Apple in their sale of the iPods rival, the Zen Vision:M, it is still a favourable choice for all those who want more value for their money.
Over the last few months I've been finding more and more sources that Creative say Creative seem to be switching priorities from their own line of mp3 Players to their accessories for the iPod. While I'm sure there is alot of money to be made in this market, why would you cover you entire homepage in iPod accessory ads? The mp3 players built and designed by Creative deserve so much more attention than these accessories, and understandably more people would take more notice and putting a little more money into advertising for their own players would eventually pay off.
I just don't like the fact that Creative has seemed to have switched priorities from the own players, to the iPod. Im sure many people agree with me on at least that point, if not here at Creative own frum, than at websites such as ABi and Epizenter.net.
Just letting me voice be heard. Creative, don't leave us fans hanging or we wont he hanging around my longer.

  • Who's got a fun, creative editing idea to jazz up this clip?

So... this is a speaker who does workshops on creative ideas. She helps people come up with product ideas and has a creative product line herself.
The clip is a medium shot of her speaking. She's saying, 'I serve up products, apparel, workshops and tools to help you unleash your creative spirit. " The music underneath is upbeat.
I thought of several ideas but can't quite jell the picture.
One of her products is a deck of cards. I thought maybe some kind of spread of an arc of cards - that come on one at a time, or some kid of checkerboard thing that has small square pictures of her products, one at a time until they cover the screen, changing - although don't think she has quite that many products - not sure.
    Or something colorful and creative.
Can't quite figure quite figure out what to do or how to do it.
Can anyone think of anything? Or post a link to examples?

Well, good thing I checked back. It's definitely gotten friendlier in here.
I took the clip down purposely because of the chilly response. I can make it live again if you guys want.
And I don't want to put a misplaced post up. I was just in a fun, creative mood, jazzed about the project I was doing, and wondered what ideas people might have that I hadn't thought of. I had been on the Apple boards all day and was already in conversation with people here. So it was just a quick afterthought post. I have another forum for creative questions but was just curious what people on this board thought. But I don't want to clutter up a technical forum with what is really more of a creative question.
The project ended up going very well. She was happy with the video in spite of the delays. I didn't do anything particularly creative on that particular clip,, but am still open to ideas. I want to use it as a demo clip, and that part still is asking for more than the quick transitions in there now. Passable, "give it a 3 but can't dance to it." I did go a bit wild on the beginning and ending and did some graphics and creative editing, and was very happy with that. I may have to get in and do something fun just to scratch the itch.
I'm uploading her final clip tonight and was about to revisit the other discussion, just to get clear on the best settings for exporting HD. Don't want to cross-pollenate the discussion, so I'll post about that in that thread.
Meanwhile, if the clip is still up, I'll make it live again. In the future I'll be more careful to stick to tech discussions in this forum if that' s what's appropriate.

I would suggestion the new Creative Professional line of cards by EMU are designed to work with professional equipment which have an Optical, Coaxial SPDIF, Midi I/O etc...... on them. More information can be found on these cards at www.emu.com and they are listed as Digital Audio Systems.

In such case I need to make the interconnectors from mini-Jack to RCA input of my receiver. Please give me the scheme of this connectors (I mean where on mini-Jack is left /right and where on RCA must be plus/minus).
I need this information very much, as I still cant get satisfied with my equipment .
    Thank you for help

    timur,
I think (but I'm not certain) this is what you are looking for. Go to the link below and click on "External Connectors such as Microphone, Line-In, Line-Out, Digital Out, Center/Subwoofer/Rear Center Out." Then click on "Line-in and Line-Out" for a diagram of the rear jack Line-out & 2 connections for the left and right, front and rear speakers. Then click on "Line-out 3..." for the center, subwoofer, etc connections. These diagrams refer to Line-outs , 2, & 3 on the backplate of your X-Fi. (The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th /8-inch jacks from the top.) The center of the RCA connector is signal, the outer shield is ground.

    Hi!
I'm from Romania and i want to purchase a Creative X-Fi ExtremeMusic sound card but i have difficulties finding it in local stores. They all say to me that importers have difficulties finding it too. Now i've seen that Americas Creative on-line shop doesn't have it on stock either.
    My questions are:
.Doesn't Creative manufacture anymore this sound card? And if so why? It is a good sound card.
    2. Is ExtremeGamer is a good substitute or i loose some useful features?
Any feed-back is appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I wanna know this too...i have an Xtreme music, and now it is discontinued?
