Creative-Post Microsoft SBLive 5.1 Drivers On S

It has been well documented that Soundblaster Li've 5. drivers are available on the Microsoft Update website. Only thing is, you can't actually download them, they are installed automatically. Creative should be able to post these drivers on their own website, so that we,? the great unwashed, could actually download them and deploy them at our convenience. It would certainly make life easier for people who are jumping through hoops, just to get sound out of their computers. I understand that the Microsoft drivers don't provide full functuality, but some of us only need 2 channels with a subwoofer to listen to MP3's and such. Also, I read on the Wikipedia Vista Compatibility site, that if your card is recognized properly, you can also install the additional programs, i.e. recorder, wave studio, audio hq, individually to the Creative folder and they will work. Cat, or any other moserator, why can't this simple task be done?

I agree it's not the users who are supposed to create not post drivers for a company like Creative, but on the other hand it's a part what's called evolution that older stuff will eventually not be working/supported. I know they are still brand new when you purchase them, but that doesn't automatically mean that they will be working with the newer OS's. Heck I can't e-mail Texas Instruments and complain about my TI-99/4A not being able to handle Bioshock or Medal of Honor Airborne, can I The SB 5. card is an old outdated (technology wise) sound card that is still good for office machines running Windows XP or Windows 2000, but they are no good in an up-to-date game rig. Again, I agree with you that Creative could have better information on their boxes and on their web pages with regards to what OS's are supported with the different cards and also have better information regarding their drivers.

  • Microsoft SQL Server JDBC Drivers 4.0.2206 timeout on first connection to SQL Server Express after it sleeps

Our builds kick off and run integration tests. They are configured to hit a SQL Server Express server.
If the builds have been quiet for a while, the first test to connect fails after stalling for 20 minutes.
    Subsequent tests are fine.
Reversing test order does the same thing, with a different test.
We noticed in the SQL Server express log the server saying it is waking up after being idle.
Microsoft SQL Server Express with Microsoft SQL Server JDBC Drivers 4.0.2206.
Connection times out after 20 minutes.Occurs with the first connection made after the SQL Server Express server wakes up from going to sleep.Connections after the first are just fine, until SQL Server Express sleeps.SSL enabled. Timeout duration for the connection failure is unaffected by setting timeout options for the connection.  Work around:
cron-like job that runs every minute that makes a simple query on the server keeps the server from going to sleep.
Has anyone else run into this?

    Hello,
SQL Server Express will go to sleep if idle, this behavior is not configurable.
When SQL Express transitions from idle to active some of the memory that was released needs to be reclaimed; this results is a slight lag during "startup time" when you're first connecting to SQL Express.
The other sort of sleep occurs when a database with AUTO_CLOSE unloading itself after a period of inactivity. This can be resolved by setting AUTO_CLOSE to false.
You can refer to the following blog about more details about this:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqlexpress/archive/2008/02/22/sql-express-behaviors-idle-time-resources-usage-auto-close-and-user-instances.aspx
You can try to upgrade the SQL Server Express to a non-free version to get rid of this.

  • Microsoft JDBC SQL Server Drivers

I want to use the Microsoft JDBC SQL Server Drivers. I know they are not supported.
What do I need to do to my 9iAS install so that my reports can use this JDBC connection.
I have 5 simple reports I want to run from a very simnple menu. I want to hide the JDBC connection in the URL. But I want the report to use the URL to connect to a MS SQL Server 200 database and generate a report that was created using Reports Builder.
Obviosly I am new to all of this. And someone else is doing the 9iAS install.
What do I need to do to get this going?
    Thanks for any help.
    Jeanne

I am now using mth Merant SQL Server JDBC Driver.
But I still get the following error when running from the URL from my local OC4J.
I have added classpath of YM*.jar files to rwEng and rwUrlEng in rep_<myserver>.conf.
Why can't it find the drivers?
    Thanks.

  • Drivers for Creative Webcam Notebook ACVB1170

    Hi!
After searching in the support page and forums i simply can't find "any" drivers for this little webcam, because i've lost my installation cd. I'm currently using XP and OSX. I would greatly appreciate if anyone posted a link to the drivers.
    Thanks!

Windows XP doesn't support Parallel Port webcams, so I do not believe it is even possible to make such a driver. That webcam was also made back in 994-95...
    Sorry.

  • How to Reinstall Creative Media Player Software

    October 2nd 2006
If your update for Creative Media Source, Creative Media Player, and any associated programming has corrupted your system and you need to reinstall the older version or reinstall any of it period this information is critical to avoid serious frustration. It took me four days to figure this out fully and it was HARD to figure out with NO thanks to Creative Technical support. If anything Creative OWES me for this information since they are too stupid to answer my questions with anything but canned answers. It was posts on the Creative forum and several searches in Yahoo and Google that helped lead me to the conclusion of this issue and I feel that you as a Creative customer are not going to like this at all but hey, I?m just the messenger so please don?t kill me! Word of warning! Formatting your hard dri've and reinstalling all your software is far easier than what I am about to instruct you but what I figured out does work and seems to be the ONLY way of really fixing this bug. This applies to the Audigy Z 2S Platinum and should apply to ALL Creative Software in this line of Creative Products.
What caused this in the first place:
I was happily running the supplied creative Media Player, Media Source Go! software with THX, Dolby, and the other features that came with my Audigy Z 2S Platinum. As a conscientious computer user I like to keep things up to date and like to keep my software updated so I went to the Creative site and performed the automatic updates. BIG, BIG mistake! I lost the Equalizer, THX, the Mixer, and everything BUT the most basic of applications to this sound card. The point of me buying it in the first place was the features. The updates stripped me of them. When I tried to reinstall the original software the problems began. When using the supplied installation disk and attempting to uninstall the software was problem one. Creative never had the forethought of supplying an accurate uninstallation feature so when you use the ?Add/ Remove Program? feature you do not get the junk that Creative hides in your file system much like trying to extract AOL Files (which gave me the inspiration for getting rid of the corrupted installation of Creative Software). Like AOL software Creative is extremely invasi've and hides in a number of places you would not even think to look in.
The Issues you will be facing and the associated Error messages:
Upon reinstallation of the old software after my first of many attempts at removing the old installation I began to get the following error messages upon startup of the Media Source software, ?Exception-Created Object:Exceptions:FactoryNotFound Message:?Invalid Factory in Created Object: AudioChannelMappingMSG? and ?PFX file missing or corrupted, application will now terminate?, and the last of your nightmare messages ?Device not found by application and application will now terminate?. If you get any of these messages you are screwed and face a serious uninstallation procedure to correct this. Thanks to this you should be able to fix it all and get your reinstallation to take properly.
Something to keep in mind and I only found out about this the day before I wrote this, Apple Quicktime 7 has a serious conflict issue with DemoShield and the removal process is the same for the Creative Software since uninstallation will not get Quicktime out either. Before you reinstall remove Quicktime 7 or you are going NOWHERE! Quicktime 6 does not appear to interfere with the installation. You will get the error message ?DemoShield has encountered a problem and needs to shut down? followed by the computer wanting to send an error report. This is a sure fire sign that Quicktime is interfering with the installation along with the file DEMO32.exe which will need to be deleted.
Another thing I need to mention is that you WILL need the following software or something similar to eliminate all traces of Creative software, Error Expert, RegEditXP, Directory Cleaner, and Find Dead Links. This software will get the impossible and hidden stuff you will not find or be able to get rid of otherwise.
    Preparation for this task:
Kick on some music, smoke a FAT joint, drink a beer, or do both because this process is involved and frustrating! If you don?t drink or smoke or both than I hope God is with you because you will be cursing and swearing when something does not go right. Remember, I was at this for four days FULL TIME with minimal information to go on. Patience is a MUST or be ready to pay an expert a LOT of money to deal with this.
    Now it begins:
NOTE: It should not be necessary to uninstall the Card itself. The software and not the PCI card is the issue and the drivers are not what cause the hanging reinstallation. I did at one time in the process of figuring this crap out pull the card but when I managed to fix the problem I had left the card in. Again it is NOT necessary to pull the Sound Blaster card from it'ss slot to effect the fix for the software.
NOTE: Should at any time in this extraction process you get the message ?Application cannot be removed? or ?Another application is using file and it cannot be removed? hit CONTROL/ALT/DELETE to open the Task Manager. Click APPLICATIONS and if Creative software is running click END TASK. You can then continue the extraction process.
: TRY to save all of your important media files in another directory (preferably in another dri've or partition. Another dri've is preferred) before you begin this so you don?t loose your music and video files to an accident, misunderstanding, or software association. Making a special holding folder with an easily recognizable name not having Creative in its name will help keep you from accidentally deleting these files in the event the search turns them up.
2: Go to the ?Add Remove Programs? in the control panel and remove all instances of Creative you can find. When that is done go to Run\msconfig and select ?Selecti've Starup? and UNCHECK ?Load Startup Items?.
3: Restart the computer. Now the fun begins. Put on your hunting hat, you are on digital safari!
4: When the computer starts up you will be notified by msconfig that changes have been made to the way the computer starts. Hit the red X and close the message and do the same for msconfig. You will see the prompt ?restart computer? or ?close without restarting?, select ?close without restarting?.
5: Open Windows Explorer, Start\Programs\Accessories\ Windows Explorer. The search feature here is a great help but for the moment get the obvious crap first.
6: In Windows Explorer click ?View? and select ?Show hidden files? in the selection menu window. This will allow you to get the stuff that regular uninstallation can't get at nor will a regular search reveal. THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT STEP DO NOT TRY TO WORK AROUND IT OTHERWISE YOU WILL FAIL EXTRACTING ALL THE JUNK!!!!!
7: Look for these three directories first:
    C:\Documentsandsettings\USERNAME\StartMenu\Program s\Creative
    C:\Documentsandsettings\Aministrator\StartMenu\Pro grams\Creative
    C:\Documentsandsettings\USRNAME\Applications\Creat ive
    Delete them!
8: Now go to the C:\Programs\Windows directory. This gets touchy. WORD OF WARNING TO NOVICE AND INTERMEDIATE COMPUTER USERS ALIKE (Experts should need no warning about this) BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT WHAT YOU DELETE HERE! THERE ARE FILES HERE CRITICAL TO THE OPERATION OF ALL OTHER APLICATIONS ESPECIALLY WINDOWS AND DELETING THE WRONG ONE WILL RESULT IN A COMPUTER THAT WILL NOT START! You can confirm who made the file by pointing at the file in question with your cursor and it should display the maker of the file.
You will be hunting any and all programs with the following beginnings, CT, SB, ct. The files beginning with ?ct? can either be Creative or Microsoft, CONFIRM EACH BEFORE YOU DELETE THEM.
The Windows files you will be looking in are:
    C:\Programs\Windows\ime
    C:\Programs\Windows\inf
    C:\Programs\Windows\PIF
    C:\Programs\Windows\prefetch
    C:\Programs\Windows\Registration
    C:\Programs\Windows\System
    C:\Programs\Windows\System32
Lower down in the Explorer window you will find the following files that also need to be deleted:
    C:\Programs\Windows\CTCCW.DLL
    C:\Programs\Windows\CTDCRES.DLL
    C:\Programs\Windows\CTDV0K.CDF
    C:\Programs\Windows\CTDV0K2.CDF
    C:\Programs\Windows\CTDVAUDY.CDF
    C:\Programs\Windows\CTHELPER.EXE
    C:\Programs\Windows\CTRegrun.exe
    C:\Programs\Windows\CTRES.DLL
That gets the obvious and less obvious stuff out but the hunt is not over by a long shot.
9: This is where it begins to get complicated. In Windows Explorer you will be using the Search button.
Click Search and look for these files:
HKLM\Software\Creative Tech\Software Installed !!DELETE THIS FILE!!
    Demo32.exe !!DELETE THIS FILE!!
    Creative
    SoundBlaster
    {5CDDF96A-BC34-4D72-9ABA-EFFF0C39977} !!DELETE THIS FILE!!
AC3 !!Delete any and all files found associated with Creative. With the AC3 files MAKE SURE they are Creative file before deleting them. There are AC3 files unassociated with Creative and they will appear in your search. ATI uses AC3 decoders as well and you DON?T want to screw up an application that is not the problem.!!
THIS COMPLETES AS MUCH OF THE MANUAL EXTRACTION YOU CAN AS A USER GET TO WITHOUT THE ASSISTANCE OF SOFTWARE.
0: Run Directory Cleaner and set it for Creative Audio and click CLEAN followed by setting it for Creative Audio Light and again Click CLEAN. Shut down Dri've Cleaner when you are done with this step.
: Run RegEditXP and fix all issues it finds and close it when it is done.
2: Open Error Expert and set it to Scan for Registry Errors. This gets the stuff RegEditXP misses. When it has found the problems it can select FIX.
3: While still in Error Expert select ADVANCED SYSTEM TOOLS and select STARTUP LIST MANAGER. Remove Creative from the list in any form you find it. Close Error Expert when done.
THIS COMPLETES THE REMOVEAL PROCESS FOR CLEARING YOUR COMPUTER OF CREATIVE SOFTWARE.
IF YOU HAVE QUICKTIME 7 IT HAS TO BE REMOVED DUE TO A COMFLICT WITH CREATIVE INSTALLATION SOFTWARE!
If you do not have Quicktime 7 then open msconfig, reset your computer to ?Normal Startup?, click ?Apply?, then close msconfig and restart. You can now reinstall your original software.
    4: Removing Quicktime 7:
This sucks as well. Uninstalling Quicktime 7 from the ?Add/remove Programs? will not work. First make sure it is OFF. If it is acti've it will not be removable. Check with the task manager and in your system tray at the bottom right hand corner of your computer monitor. If you see the blue ?Q?, close it before beginning the extraction process or it will get very complicated.
    Windows Explorer Search found all the files I needed to remove but like Creative reference all the same folders in C:\Programs\Windows as you did for removing the Creative Software and remove all references of Quicktime you find;
    C:\Programs\Windows\ime
    C:\Programs\Windows\inf
    C:\Programs\Windows\PIF
    C:\Programs\Windows\prefetch
    C:\Programs\Windows\Registration
    C:\Programs\Windows\System
    C:\Programs\Windows\System32
Windows Explorer will lead you to other programs it hides in and the one file I could not remove under any and all circumstances was the one in C:\Programs\Adobe. That one reference will not interfere with anything so you can leave that one. Once you have removed Quicktime 7 go to msconfig and select ?Normal Startup? and restart your computer.
After your computer boots up fully slap the CD ROM in the dri've and it should begin to start up as if it was never installed in the first place. You will get the prompt to, ?Modify, Repair, or Uninstall? software. Uninstall is a joke since it does not work and it is unnecessary. There should be nothing to repair after all of this so I chose Modify. I now have the original software that worked right when I first got the Audigy Z 2S sound Card and it works fine. As a footnote to all of this I did get one error message when I restarted after the installation. It said ?cdrw32.dll missing? but it had no apparent effect on my computer. A subsequent reboot and the message never reappeared. I am not looking this any deeper than I have to since the message never reappeared and I suspect it had something to do with the reinstallation process of Creative Media Source and the media player.
    The End!

Audio Console is included in the latest drivers, the easiest way to reinstall it is to reinstall the drivers but if you want to reinstall only the app, uncompress the drivers package with WinRAR and run the setup program from the AudCon Folder. If your X-Fi is OEM you may need to mod CL's drivers, or get a package from Dell that includes AudioConsole.

  • MY LETTER TO CREATIVE...NO RESPONSE FROM THEM!!!

    From: [email protected]
To: [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]
Subject: CONSUMERS HAVE NO FAITH IN CREATIVE
    Date: Fri, 6 Jun 2008 00:49:40 -0400
    Dear Creative,
In the years that have passed, I have always been a Creative consumer. If I built a system, it had a Creative card in it. I have referred countless customers to your doorsteps.
And the "little guys" like me acts a part of the whole. We help you become who you are. I purchased the X-Fi ExtremeMusic sound card in good faith and with the idea that I would have the ability to playback multimedia files with certain capabilities (THX, DTS, and CMSS). And for a short period of time, I did enjoy that while using the Windows XP operating system. The card was awesome! Awesome up until the inception of Windows Vista. Vista no doubt is a flop for right now. It has caused many software and hardware vendors a lot of unwanted problems. This is all true. However, as a consumer, I should not lose the basic functionality of my card period just because you and Microsoft cannot come to a common ground. The two of you [Creative and Microsoft] have had a difficult time agreeing on what's what. You have made the "little guy" pay for those indifferences. MIcrosoft forces you to use Vista and you are trying to force us to buy new hardware. And most of all, you attempt to go after Daniel "Daniel_K" Kawakami for trying to help us.
I really feel slighted. I have written letter after letter and email after email for assistance. I do not even have the basic functionality of my card. It simply will not play without crashing in Vista. I am using the drivers you provide on your website. The drivers you provide deliberately leave out functionality that could be there if the drivers were written as such. However, when I used Daniels drivers I actually get the card to work and almost all of the functionality that I should have. At this point, I am back to no sound card at all because those drivers have been erased after your escapade of attempting to sue Daniel_K. What the "Almighty Dollar" has done to good old "American" business. There was a time when companies provided good service and the customer's best interest was always at heart. Now, You are attempting to hold the customer hostage because Microsoft put you in this predicament. At least Daniel cared enough about us to help. Let's take a poll: (5) letters to Creative and no response...One to Daniel and my system worked. Instead of suing him and wasting your time, why not offer him a job with your company. He is obviously a very talented young man with a lot of knowledge. He calls himself an enthusiast. WOW! Amazing what can be done with just a love for a product. An enthusiast...he simply just loves Creative products and modding!
What you are doing as a company is obvious though. You are taking advantage of the fact that Vista is basically dysfunctional. So you turn off the ability to receive a few major options and force the consumer to buy new merchandise. Essentially, you have created a problem and then provide the solution. Had you not changed the driver platform, there would be no problem, there would be no Daniel_K, and everyone would be happy. You have put a new line of cards out and hoped that we would bite. Well I am not going to be a victim. I am dying to try the new PCI Express Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Professional card...but for what!!! I won't spit in Daniel_K's face like that first of all and second, I can see me buying the card and having problems or needing major tech support. The bottom line is, there are a lot of people out there that are really pissed right now that are just like me.
So here is the skinny! We are seeking to return the favor and take advantage of the terrible market as such. Gas prices are high, foreclosures are running wild, and furloughed employees are on the rise. Well we are passing a petition around to see just how many people have been affected by you. It is circulating in the form of an email. We are urging each consumer to not purchase anymore Creative products. We have compiled a list of alternati've products that work fine and will not cause many mishaps.
For instance, we are suggesting that consumers go with AUZENTECH products. To not purchase your surround sound systems but to go with Logitech instead. Do not purchase the Aurvana X-Fi but to go with the Razer Barracuda Headset. We are offering our old X-Fi cards as gifts to those that still use Windows XP just to keep you from being able to sell any new cards. We are gonna pump as much info to the media as we can about what you are doing to Daniel_K. Oprah, The Washington Post, Anderson Cooper...anyone who will listen. Get the picture! ! Now you may not care but we do! We are also entertaining the idea of a class-action lawsuit also. Be suprised at how many lawyers are gamers. We are tired of being taken advantage of and want someone to listen to us.
Speaking of lawsuit...what is the rational for suing Daniel_K. At best you get a rise out of him to stop and maybe an injuction but what do you really stand to gain. You actually appear to be a "bully with a big stick" taking advantage of an innocent person. Can you explain the logic here. You are going to exhaust countless man hours and countless dollars to go after a young man that is at most guilty of minor modding. And I, realistically, cannot see that as a crime. He did not ask for money and the modding was done to free software. The major violation only appears to be that he took free software for one product and modded it for another.
I must tell you that I am now on the bandwagon. I would love to buy that new X-Fi Titanium Fatalty card...but I refuse. It is unfair to leave us good and faithful consumers like us out in the cold like you have done. You take the position that you know that you will not be able to satisfy everyone's needs and that some changes will affect some consumers immensely. That sounds good for the inept. That is a very good public relations answer. But you know, as well as I know, that you have effected a large majority of your consumers.
This all may fall on deaf ears but someone will listen sooner or later. I feel like I have watsed my money.
    Darren Michael Neal
PS: People are really compulsi've and act on impulse. When something new comes out, we just have to have it. So you didn't have to try and force a profit where there would have naturally been one.

Remember that not all the units of the Zen Sleek act that way. I'm sure there's MANY people like you with those problems, but it doesn't mean that all of them are defecti've.
    Good luck!!

  • Qosmio G20 Vista drivers? Not needed to install Windows Vista

    Hello,
I am new at this forum. My name is Francisco and I live in Brazil. I own a Toshiba Qosmio g20_105 and it is running Windows Vista Ultimate EN RTM 6000 without problems.
To do this, you must perform a fresh install of Windows Vista. The drivers for network (Intel PRO100),for audio (Soundmax), for TV (Toshiba PCI Tuner), modem (toshiba modem), Alps pointing device are installed directly from microsoft. You must install Toshiba nvidia display driver, Toshiba Bluetooth (monitor and stack), Toshiba texas flash media driver, toshiba RAID (driver and utilities), toshiba remote control manager and ConfigFree for Windows Vista.
You must have the Toshiba RAID drivers to install from the windows Vista DVD. Otherway, Windows does not recognize Toshiba RAID 0 and RAID 1.
Below some pictures of my G20 Desktop screen:
    http://www.rabayjr.com/vista/myqosmiog20screen1.jpg
    http://www.rabayjr.com/vista/myqosmiog20screen2.jpg
    http://www.rabayjr.com/vista/myqosmiog20screen3.jpg
And here is an example of using deskscapes animated backgrounds with Windows Vista, called dreamscene.
    It is in paused mode
    http://www.rabayjr.com/vista/myqosmiog20screen4.jpg
To perform a fresh install of windows Vista:
Please, download the Toshiba RAID drivers from here:
    http://www.rabayjr.com/vista/drivers/raid.rar
    1. Copy the contents of this archive onto a floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive.
    2. Insert your Microsoft Windows Vista Edition Bootable DVD.
    3. Power on your computer and press F12 to display the boot menu.
    4. Choose the option to boot from the CD/DVD drive.
    5. On the first setup screen, choose your language options then press "Next".
    6. Press "Install Now".
    7. Type in your Product Key then press "Next".
    8. Accept the license terms by checking the box then press "Next".
    9. When asked "What type of installation do you want", press "Custom (advanced)".
    10. When asked "Where do you want to install Windows", make sure your media containing the Toshiba RAID drivers is connected to the computer, then click on "Load Driver".
    11. Browse to the location you have copied the RAID drivers to then press "OK".
    12. Setup will return to the previous screen, but it will show that you have selected the TOSHIBA RAID driver.
    13. Make sure the TOSHIBA RAID driver is selected then press "Next".
    14. Continue the installation of Windows Vista as normal.
Now you will need the Toshiba drivers for your Qosmio G20:

This is a step by step guide for those of you with problems to get Windows Vista functional on your G20 Qosmios
Use a Windows Vista English Version RTM Ultimate 6000 DVD for installation.
1 Backup your personal files and important data to a removable device, CD, DVD, flashmedia, pendrive, etc...
2.Check your Qosmio player installation. if nedeed, reinstall it with the latest version (multilanguage), posted on Toshibas site (download drivers section).
3.Download and copy the Toshiba RAID drivers to a removable media
Please, download the Toshiba RAID drivers from here:
    http://www.rabayjr.com/vista/drivers/raid.rar
4.To perform a fresh install of Windows Vista, Follow the steps below
-1. Copy the contents of this archive onto a floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive.
-2. Insert your Microsoft Windows Vista Edition Bootable DVD.
-3. Power on your computer and press F12 to display the boot menu.
-4. Choose the option to boot from the CD/DVD drive.
-5. On the first setup screen, choose your language options then press "Next".
    -6. Press "Install Now".
-7. Type in your Product Key then press "Next".
-8. Accept the license terms by checking the box then press "Next".
-9. When asked "What type of installation do you want", press "Custom (advanced)".
-10. When asked "Where do you want to install Windows", make sure your media containing the Toshiba RAID drivers is connected to the computer, then click on "Load Driver".
-11. Browse to the location you have copied the RAID drivers to then press "OK".
-12. Setup will return to the previous screen, but it will show that you have selected the TOSHIBA RAID driver.
-13. Make sure the TOSHIBA RAID driver is selected then press "Next".
-14. Continue the installation of Windows Vista as normal.
    5. Go to Microsoft update and download all important updates available. If you wish you can install your native language, if other than English, from the Microsoft site.
let Windows install all the drivers found for your Qosmio G20.
    6. Reboot your machine and follow with the steps below.
    DRIVERS YOU MUST INSTALL:
    1. Alps pointing device driver (This is from Alps and working fine with your Qosmio G20)
    http://www.rabayjr.com/vista/drivers/alpsdriver.rar
    http://www.rabayjr.com/vista/qosmioalps.jpg
During the installation, Windows will complain that you are installing an early device driver. Do not attempt to this, Install it anyway.
This is because the Windows driver for this device is originally installed with a more recent date and version from that you are trying to install.
But the driver posting here is the correct from the Alps for your Qosmio g20.
    2. Bluetooth monitor and stack

    http://www.rabayjr.com/vista/drivers/bluetooth_stack.rar
    3. Nvidia display driver GeForce Go 6600
    http://www.rabayjr.com/vista/drivers/nvidia97.52.rar
To install the nvidia 97.52, you must do it manually:
    open the Device manager
look for the Video adapter/nvidia Gforce go6600
    Driver update options
Look for a driver in computer
Choose a list of device drivers in computer
    With disc...
Lool for the place you've extracted the nvidia 97.52.rar
Find the nvts.inf and open it
You will come to the following screen:
    http://www.rabayjr.com/vista/qosmionvidiainstall.jpg
From a list choose your video card (go6600) and install it.
If you think it is difficult, please see the VIDEO Nvidiainstall.avi:
    http://www.rabayjr.com/vista/drivers/nvidiainstall.rar
After the extraction, play it with Windows media Player

    http://www.rabayjr.com/vista/drivers/soundmax5.12.1.5410.rar
run the setup.exe and at first remove the driver you have installed on your Qosmio G20.
    reboot the computer
Run the setup.exe again and install the new driver. At some install point, Windows Vista will need a confirmation, if you trust Analog devices incorporated to goes on..

  • Creative's Vista support is so bad - My horrible experience

All,?Have used Creative products for years, but how they are handling Vista is bordering on criminal. I do not understand how they basically tell good customers to take a hike with such terribly bad Vista support. Here is my story:?Using my SB Li've card in XP. Works GREAT!? Fantastic card, no problems. Not that old of a card either. Seems Creative will not be making Vista drivers for it. WHY??So go and buy a Audigy SE card. Plug in, can not get to work. Find there is no Vista driver.
Go out and buy a X-Fi Extreme Audio card, as I saw there was a Vista driver for it. Get home, find out that is not true, only for 32bit, not 64bit.
Wait, find this section. Find the Audigy SE has a beta Vista driver, whoops only 32bit again.
Vista (released version) has been out for several months (I have had my Microsoft Developers Network Release Canidate running now for well over a month). And beta's have been out forever.
There is NO excuse for a company as big as Creative not to have drivers working and ready for all current cards, and fairly recent cards (like SB Li've) by at least the public release date. None at all.
Funny thing, plugged in the built in sound module on my DFI nF4 SLI-DR motherboard (I kept it unplugged while I used the SB Li've card). Booted Vista, and drivers loaded without my doing a thing!? Works fine...

I'm on the side of Creative Labs here, and I'll say what they're probably thinking as they desperately work to get things up to speed for us. For starters, I assumed that if you chose to be one of the first to purchase Windows Vista (like myself), you were prepared to undergo a rocky compatibility period with some of your hardware, and were willing to wait it out. After numerous new versions of Windows....well hell, I figured?we all have come to expect this kind of thing at first launch. I guess I was wrong.
Secondly, I assumed that if you chose to be one of the first to purchase Windows Vista, but you were NOT prepared to undergo a rocky compatibility period with some of your hardware, than you would have perused this website's news, forums, drivers page, etc. for a little while?after the Vista release date to verify that everything?is?going to work?the way you "need" it to before you even put that Vista installation DVD in your dri've. And third....you consumers aren't working in the Creative Labs office. You've never attended their meetings. You've never been in on exactly how much work goes into keeping communication going with Microsoft, and you?dam sure don't know exactly what has to go into making these sound cards work with the types of Directsound changes that Microsoft has made. Don't sit there remotely from your apartment and tell a Creative Labs employee what they've been doing with THEIR time since they got the final info from Microsoft they needed to get to work on the new drivers. You say "fix it!" They say "we're working on it." What the hell else do you want?Fourth....don't forget that there are plenty of Creative Labs employees who have home computers with creative labs hardware in them, and those employees want their stuff working just as much as you. So here's your solution if this compatibility issue is really slowing down your life. Uninstall Vista. Put your XP back on. Enjoy your fully functional sound just the way you had it and meanwhile, keep checking back here periodically for updates on their progress. CL and CL mods.... I trust you. You've been around for years and you've offered up excellent hardware and software for as many OS's as I can remember. I'm not an expert in your field, so I'm not going to sit here, like some, and conjure up some self-gratifying scenario in my head of you guys doing piss poor work when I don't know jack about what it takes to get up to speed, especially if Microsoft has had you switching gears up until November. Your track record speaks for itself. You've always provided the best in sound. Guys, give CL a break. They've earned their stripes. In the meantime, go back to XP or thank them for the beta drivers and the EAX workaround. They did it for YOU. P.S. But Creative...just one thing. For now on, could you try to make your list of drivers and software updates for each card a little less confusing on the drivers pages? The XP driver/softwares sections are a mess! <img height="6[/img] width="6" src="http://forums.creative.com/i/smilies/6x6_smiley-wink.gif">

  • Is Creative Alchemy Supported on Vista 64 bit? Attention Creative Mod p

    Ok I'm confused.
I've had a creative X-Fi Fatalty card for a couple of years that came with a Mesh pc I bought.
So I buy all the kit for a new pc and think I can just move the card across. I install Vista 64, install service pack and all is peachy apart form my Razer mouse that needs a new driver.
I install a load of old games and they work fine. Some fine tuning for allowing games to run as admin, but considering my new pc is so much faster, and the greater security (i've been told, and call me sad?but i believe it) I'm thinking its worth it.
Wow I think, this vista malaky's great!
Pop in my creative?soundcard?download the drivers and think here we go.
So I install Half life 2. A fairly old game. And it all starts going wrong. I load up the first level and I suddenly only have 2.0 sound.
open up the console and notice all kinda errors (on screen node graph out of date, A. I.disabled, and a load more in the console when i look).
Are they caused by Vista or Creative? I dunno, i didn't load half life prior to installing the card so it could be either to be fair.
So I read up more to try to work it out and I come across a funny thing. If in Creatives download manger pages you tell it you have a creative Fatalty soundcard, and you have a vista 64bit operating system then there are no downloads.
But if you put in Vista 32 bit then you get offered the Alchamey drivers. Which state that they are for 32 and 64 bit versions of Vista.
Now i've been looking at these forums for the last 2 days and I'm begining to feel a little worried. I'm not a sound Guru and I don't understand alot of whats been discussed. I don't feel i'm in a place to pass judgemnt on Creative cos the only contact I've had with their support staff was with a Zen Micro that was out of warrenty and they fixed that for free. Didn't even charge me P&P to send it back!
So I'm really not sure where I stand. I'm about to download the alchemy software that may/may not work with vista 64 by admission of their own website, and can't help but feel that support isn't quite what I was hoping for, and used to. Is the MP3 part of Creative effectivly a seperate company or something?
Now I don't want to start yet another bash creative post.
What I'd really like is a comment from Creative as to why their driver page does/doesn't offer you the right downloads and a solution to my problem.
Call me selfish but I kinda dcame to the Creative Help forums for some, well, Help.
I'd really appreciate if all the pro and anti forum trolls could stay off this topic and give creative a chance to show they can do good support.

JohnZS, thanx very much for the prompt response. I really do appreciate it.
But let me get this straight.
I've had to download a software package from a page I shouldn't have been at.
I have to add values to a software package that I have to rely on good natured people on a forum to supply.
And no offence, but even then I don't have the whole answer. I have to search manually for the registry or game path for the ?.exe? I assume (I'm doing this whilst tring to solve my prob, so I could well be wrong about this) tomake the **bleep** think work.
And this thing is Vista stickered?
Ok still going with the no bandwagon jumping plse people, I'm just an honest guy with no agenda apart from blowing **bleep** up on my poota as a stress release, so I'd like to see from Creative where I'm going wrong here.
Oh I seriously forgot the no swearing policy, and on forums like this I do agree with it, its just its late, i'm a bit annoyed, and to be frank, slightly drunk.

  • Audigy 4 - Vista drivers and software urgently nee

you know... i have this sound card (Audigy 4 - non pro) for over one year now, AND i don`t have a good driver and software for windows vista home premium x64. last driver for this sound card is:
. Creative Sound Blaster Audigy series Vista Driver 2.2.0002 (38.30 MB) 6 Mar 07.
    i mean... 6 mar. 07
how long do i have to wait for you, to relase all the software it is on windows xp oh, this audigy 4 was not intended to use with vista, wright and you want everybody to buy that x-fi sound card with another set of problems in windows vista. nice marketing solution. good for you ONLY.
i`m just tired waiting. my card doesn`t work as it should, nor as it worked in windows xp.
i need all that software. all of it, working under vista. PRONTO!
you will provide that software, or you just lost me as a customer, and along with me, alot more.
btw, daniel_k was only helping people, by providing drivers and software YOU couldn`t, or you just didn`t wanted to. stop deleting his posts or links to the drivers made by him.
just stop that abbusi've marketing strategy, by not releasing software for older sound cards, and forcing customers to buy your new products. no, that wouldn`t happend.

  • Drivers for windows 7 installation

    Hello,
i would be glad if someone is able to help me.
The thing is that my envy 17 1050ep, pn wp002ea#ab9 works fine with original operating system Win 7 home premium x64, but as i need to add it to a domain i´m trying to install win 7 pro/business or ultimate x64 but the hard disk is never detected when i attempt to install it.
Bios installed is the most recent from hp website.
Inside bios is not present any option to change about sata driver it´s very limited.
Tried to download and install Intel® 5 Series Chipset and Intel® 3400 Series Chipset, doesn´t work issue persist.
With the original operating system installed Win 7 home premium, access sw setup, copy drivers folder, tried to install drivers, mainly the intel rapid storage, issue persist hard disk not detected.
Tested hard disk doesn´t have any error works fine with original operating system.
Tested a new hard drive, same issue.
Board chipset is intel hm 55.
HP Support drivers available on hp site don´t work.
HP Support just say unit is out of warranty and can´t provide support.
    Intel support just say :
I understand the problem, however as I mentioned previously the main
issue in this case is that being it a laptop we do not have the precise
drivers for it, nor we know exactly how its bios is or in general how
the system is structured, therefore I would be unable to provide correct
troubleshooting for this third party product.
The most I can do in this case is showing you the download page of the
Intel chipset you have, but I am afraid there will not be exactly the
    driver you are looking for:
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng
    <(>&<)>ProdId=3240
Laptops have their own modifications, the driver needed depends on the
whole system and not just the chipset, this is why unfortunately we do
not have the correct drivers. The laptop manufacturer's website should
    have the drivers you need.
You can click the following link to login and view/update the request or get additional information (including the ability to create new service requests, view any current and closed service requests, check the status of your warranty returns, and validate warranty: https://servicerequestmgmt.intel.com/webticketui/emailpage.aspx?servicetcktnumber=8001053616&pagetyp...
So i decided to post this issue here to check if someone that had same difficulties could help me, i just would like to know which correct driver should i install so hdd become recognized to install operating system.
I´ll be waitting for any reply and if need any additional information just ask.
    Thanks
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi,
thank for your interest Paul but i´ve already solved the issue not by the correct way but through an alternative way, not the must correct but the goal was achieved it works!!!
I´ve removed the same hdd, insert on a dv6-2190ep Product number WK631EA with Northbridge Chipset Intel PM55 (Discrete models)
and Southbridge: Intel ICH9M here http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01860375.pdf there are the unit specifications.
Then made a clean installation of Windows 7 Ultimate 64x, on this unit hdd is recognized and doesn´t need installation of any driver.
After finish the clean installation, removed hdd, insert it back on Envy 17-1050ep and voilá... hard drive detected new device drivers installed automatically
and every thing is working fine!
Now i´ve just have to make operating system and device updates.
It´s a shame that either technical supports Intel, HP, Microsoft, don´t know explain or tell which drivers should be installed or which settings must be made
in order to install windows editions that allow to add unit to a domain.
Instead the technical supports try to sell us things, how they want to sell if they don´t know support customers when they need?? Although i´m out of warranty i´ve never
used technical support and i´ve just made a simple question that no one can and know the answer and about a subject that should be posted on drivers and support page!
If drivers and instructions are posted clear and with correct drivers i´ll just browse it and don´t annoy no one.
So if any customer need help to install operating system here is a workaround because technical supports don´t know solve the issues.
If any one need help it will be a pleasure to help.
    Have a nice work!

  • Third Party Vista Drivers that w

If you want my advice, stop waiting for creative to ship drivers and get the third party drivers over at the kX Project Site. Unlike Creative they're actually releasing beta drivers for Vista and whats more they offer advanced settings that creative will never release in their drivers.
    The site is here:
    http://kxproject.com/
The first thing to check out is to make sure the driver supports your model:
    http://kb.kxproject.lugosoft.com/list.html
You'll notice there is even support for cards that creative have officially announced that there is no planned vista support for.
The latest beta drivers (version 3538l at time of post) that have Vista support are here:
    http://www.driverheaven.net/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=74.
A note of warning, these drivers are aimed at professional audiophiles (the exact ones creative seem to snub these days) and so the amount of settings may be a little overwhelming, but trust me, it's worth the learning curve. But hey, being Vista early adopters you're probably a bit savvy anyway.
Personally I've found the kX drivers drivers much more stable on my configuration. As an example, I have a Creative Audigy card in my docking bay and the creative drivers prevent my laptop from undocking (eventually causing vista to blue screen). The kX drivers on the other hand close correctly and allow my laptop to be undocked.
My personal opinion is that the result of Creative not running a proper public beta system is that the Creative drivers will be largely incompatible with many hardware configurations on release. Sure they may have the drivers going nicely with their own in house hardware but the advantage of public betas is that you are able to test on a huge install base of weird and wonderful configurations.
I'd bet that as an example the creative drivers still cause problems with docking stations when they're finally released for Vista. Mark my words!
I sincerely hope you all get your cards working well with Vista and these drivers. If you do please make a reply to this thread stating so. This way Creative have a record of the number of users that have given up hope on them. The added side affect will be to keep this thread towards the top of the message board for others to see.

For SBLi've, EMU APS, Audigy, Audigy2 and SB 52 cards?uhh . . I don't see Xfi on the list in the driver. Am I missing something?
