Creative Power Adapter/Charger - Zen X

I purchased what I thought was an adapter/charger for the Zen Xtra from Creative's online store. The model number of the adapter is TESA-050240. After looking at it I see differences between the one that came with my player and the one I just purchased.
The adapter that came with my Zen Xtra 30 gig is model number TESA98-050800-A. Input is 00-240V 50/60Hz Max 0.28A, Output 5V -- .5A
The one I purchased is Input 00-240V - 50/60Hz Max .32A, Output 5V -- 2.4A
Is this okay?

Please try it, and let me know if it works. I assume you will be connecting it to the mini usb jack in the ZVM. I'm contemplating connecting an old ZenMicro wall charger to my ZVM via the mini usb connection. You go first:smileyvery-happy:

  • Does Zen micro power adapter charge Zen Vision

i tied the good old power adapter on my Vision M but it seemed to charge it...a little...but then it didn't do anything so i'm wondering if i just need to try it again or does it not work period...

i just happened to look in the instruction manual that came with the VM and it says absolutely nothing about NOT powering it through the AC adapter that was previously provided with the Zen Micro, not that i'm gonna lose sleep over it but why can't that power adapter charge the vision M?

  • Universal power adapter for zen v p

I'm currently living in Australia and i'm going to asia for a holiday during Christmas. I have just bought a zen v plus 4 gb, but found out that there is no power adapter bundled. So i've decided to buy a uni'versal power adapter to recharge my zen without using my computer. However, in feature page for the uni'versal power adapter, the zen v plus is not listed as a supported player. So i'm wondering if the uni'versal power adapter can support a zen v plus.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Power Adapter/charger LED flickers?

Searched the PB forum but haven't found this one...
My 1ghz Ti PB power adapter charge LED (the plastic circle at the end of the plug that goes into the computer) starts flickering slightly. Just a very slight rapid flicker. There is no damage to the plug that I can see. When this happens, the screen flickers slightly at the same time. I have a new inverter board that I'm going to install to fix a (separate) back light problem and I'm wondering if these two are some how related? Or is the adapter going bad? Don't have another one to try to see if the problem disappears. Anyone had this problem?

Hi, Adrift. Your adapter ringlight should never flicker, period. If you don't have any other access to a known-good adapter, take your PB and adapter to a local Apple dealership and see whether they have a good PBG4 adapter with which you can perform a quick test. This used to be a simple matter when Powerbooks that used the same adapter as yours were still for sale and demonstrators were on display; it may be less convenient now that the MacBooks and MBPs use a different adapter. But many stores will still have good older adapters around for use in testing, and may let you use one for a few minutes at no charge. If it doesn't flicker, replace your adapter.
Do you have a good main battery in the Tibook? If so, and if your adapter is intermittently cutting out or losing voltage, I would expect the display and all other components of the PB to be powered by the battery during the split-second outages of power from the adapter, without any loss of data or function. If you have no main battery or a dead one, then even a momentary loss or diminution of power from the adapter carries high risks: of the loss of unsaved work in progress, and of directory corruption potentially leading to the loss of stored data.
I know nothing about the parameters that govern when or how quickly the battery takes over for the adapter or the adapter takes over again from the battery, but of course under normal circumstances, unplugging the adapter cable from the computer with a good battery in place carries no risk at all. So the switchover, at least in that direction, must be instantaneous. Perhaps it isn't as quick going the other way, and that may come into play in your situation. This is just speculation, though.
I can't tell you whether problems with your inverter board and/or backlight might be related to the adapter problem.

  • Does a usb cab to 60 Watt L-Tip Power Adapter charger for Apple MacBook Pro Laptop Charger exist

    does a usb cable
does a Usb cable to60 Watt L-Tip Power Adapter charger for Apple MacBook Pro Laptop Charger exist? i have an external battery pack i would like to use to charge my iphone and macbook pro.

Not that I am aware of.  An Internet search on your part will be required.  If you should find something to that effect, note it will not be endorsed by Apple and the magnetic connector will probably be in violation of Apple patents.
    Ciao.

Yes, all Apple iPod / iPhone USB chargers can be used on any iPod / iPhone as they all output standard USB voltages.

  • Macbook US plug converter power adapter charger

    Hiya,
So I dropped my Macbook Pro charger a while ago and the plug end (that goes into the wall) has fallen apart.  I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can buy just that specific part in Canada?  I've looked on Amazon, but unsure since i've never really bought anything online before.  Thanks in advance!

  • Power adapter/charger specs

I have been looking for a spare charger for my HP Pavilion G6-1325sa laptop and have come across a few websites. However 2 of them, although stating that they are the correct charger for this model, have given different sizes for the tips. One site gives 5.5mm*3,0 while others give 7.4mm*5.0. Surely they can't both be the correct charger? Any advice would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
The part number for the charger (65W) is: 609939-001

I believe it's the 7.4mm 5mm. I have used the same charger with 7.4mm jack on my old Dv7-3000 series laptop, Envy M6-1000 and Dv6-7000 laptop. A 5.5mm 2.5mm jack is used on HP Mini laptops. The jack I have got has approx 13mm length and 7mm in diameter.

  • Is the "Apple Composite AV Cable" for Ipod touch a charger or power adapter

What I mean is that if it's plugged in all the time while playing it (on my stereo), is the battery being used (charger) anyway or is it directly getting the power from the power adapter therefore not using the battery therefore not using/draining the battery cycle (as a battery as a limited number of cycles in it's life). Perhaps it's not a charger/adapter thing but a Ipod Touch conception thing. If I use 24h a day the adapter, am I using the battery cycle or not? Who can answer me this for sure (Apple?)?
Also on a similar note, can I connect the Ipod touch on another PC to charge it (through the dock/USB cable) but without synching it (I know only one PC can synch but if I want to recharge the Ipod at my girlfriend's place on her PC without Itunes can I?)

Anyone else has an idea on the issue of if the Ipod touch uses the power adapter/charger as direct source of power and not through the battery? If the battery is now fully charged and the Ipod is playing (and plugged in) is only the adapter working or is also the battery?
remember the good old days when electronics could work with the adapter or the batteries of the time (non-lithium). If you didn't have a battery in it would work. Even if you did have a battery in, the adapter would be the source. I currently have a 20g Iriver and it displays a "plug" symbol when plugged in and playing and not the battery symbol which lets me to believe the battery is not being used.
I am concerned that if a lithium battery as lifetime of 500 cycles for example, and I use 5 hours a day the player (plugged in all the time) that 1 cycle will be done within 5 days even though I wasn't actually away from the power outlet. Of course I will use my Touch often away as well but overall by using 2h a day away and 3h a day plugged in, if it's the battery working all the time, my battery lifetime will be decreased by a lot.
Any ideas? Any way to ask Apple officially? email address? form they will respond to?

  • Disfunctional Power Adapter

I just came back from approximately 2 hours away from my power adapter this evening to find the amber light was still on (not connected to anything). The adapter was plugged into my power bar, so I unplugged it and the amber light flickered out after a few seconds. I then plugged the adapter back in and connected it to my computer. The indicator light turned on green although I only had about an hour and a half battery life left, and the charge indicator at the top of my screen said (Not Charging). I unplugged everything again, and now the green light turns on on one side of the adapter without being connected to the computer, and does not charge my computer.
I have had my Macbook for a year and four months without any problems pertaining to the battery or power adapter.
Also, I tried to register for a technical support phone call, but my serial number is not recognized as a valid serial number.
    Help!

I'd advise you to just buy a replacement power adapter from any source. Amazon has some used ones, for around US$ 45:
    http://www.amazon.com/Apple-MagSafe-Adapter-MacBook-MA538LL/dp/B000FQ245I/
On eBay, you can also find these:

Sites operating from Hong Kong (such as DealExtreme) have cheaper non-brand replacements, but can take 2-3 weeks:

    Good luck.

  • Spilled Drink - Laptop won't recognise power adapter + screen backlight

    Hi.
The other day, I had my 17" MacBookPro in a satchel bag, but made the foolish choice of leaving my Lucozade (Orange flavour if that helps!) in the bag.
Obviously, the Lucozade burst, submerging around two inches of the laptop, there part where the screen connects to the laptop, and submerging the power adapter port.
Now for around twenty four hours, the power adapter charged the laptop, but unfortunatly, the backlight on the screen suddenly didn't work, as in you could very faintly see it, but when you try to turn the display up, nothing happened.
Twenty four hours after the spill, the power adapter failed. I'm pretty certain it isn't the power adapter, which means the problems seems to lie with the power adapter port.
Now I opened up the laptop two days ago, (three days after the accident), and cleaned what ever Lucozade there was, and just in general cleaned up the insides of the MacBookPro (which is now around two-and-a-half years old.) Unfortunatly it didn't work.
So currently I have a MacBookPro with no battery power, and no screen backlight. So what i'm asking is for any advice at all!
Is it worth taking it to an independant laptop repair business? Would they be able to do much more than me?
Should I take it to a Mac shop? Would they know what to do?
Is there anything I can do myself?
Anyone else had a similar experience?!
    Thanks a lot.
    Christian.

I think the problem may be with the inverter board or cable. Do you have access to an external display? Maybe one you could borrow? If so, hook it up and see if you have good video on it. If you do, that would indicate that the video chip on the logic board is OK. And if you can get good video on the external, it would be a good opportunity to run the Apple Hardware Test.
One thing is that you really need to remove all traces of the Lucozade or you could have further issues on down the line. You could practice on the I/O board you removed. Flush it thoroughly with distilled or deionized water and dry it thoroughly (this could take weeks, maybe less if you have a warm dry place for drying). You could try cleaning any affected part this way, and it's possible--though not certain--that it could work again.
You probably have found ifixit and PowerBook Medic by now. Let me give you another link:
    http://node123.cit.geneseo.edu/~stratton/ServiceManuals/
This is an index--you will have to find your specific manual and download it. But I think you'll find it useful.
    Good luck!

  • My iPod Nano 4thgen only opens when connected to a pc and/or power adapter

My iPod Nano 4thGen. was brand new and I followed each and every step in the manual. I was able to connect to a computer/iTunes but after disconnecting it from the cable, the power just turns off, I pressed any key on it but failed to put the power on. I then attached it to a power adapter/charger having suspected empty battery but after I disconnected it a few hours later, the power immediately shuts down. What could've been the problem?

I have had the same problem with my daughter's IPOD nano. Spoke with several technicians to try to fix the problem to be told it was a battery problem and to send it in it was covered under warranty. Was told that it was a problem with many of the nanos. I sent it in to have it returned with 1 week stating that it had "liquid spill or submersion damage indicated by the pink/red color of liquid submersion indicator located inside headphone jack." It has not had liquid or submersion damage and I can't prove otherwise. It works only if it is attached to computer. Will not turn on unless attached to computer. Maybe I am wrong but it it has damaged by water would it still work plugged into computer. Now I am out $200.00. This frustrates my because my ipod shuffle quit working 2 months after I got it. Thats why I bought the nano thinking it was better quality.

  • Is this power adapter ok for Macbook?

I'd like to get a second 60w magsafe power adapter for my Macbook Aluminum (bought Dec 2008). Here is what I'm looking at http://cgi.ebay.com/60W-AC-Power-Adapter-Charger-For-Apple-MacBook-MagsafeW0QQitemZ370224264486QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain0?hash=item563315f526. The power adapter model number matches mine (A1184). But I don't see my Macbook model number (A1278) listed in those on the page. The Macbooks listed seem to be older models.
The power adapter looks to be exactly the same as mine. Is there any reason I shouldn't buy it?

Thanks. How do you know it isn't original?
I'm trying to save about 40 bucks since originals on eBay are around $35 + shipping. Is it worth it or is new better?
Here they have the new adapter and the older (mine): http://store.apple.com/us/search?find=60wmagsafe+poweradapter&mco=Nzc1MjMwNg. If I get new, guess it is better to go with the newest of the new.

  • Zen V Plus - Use Micro Power Adapt

    Hi,
I just ordered the Zen V Plus (ZVP 8GB) over the phone from Creative (I'm in UK) and I was recommended to purchase?the external power adapter. So I ended up buying that as well. When I got the confirmation e-mail, the power adapter turns out to be the "Zen Micro Power Supply" - as opposed to the standard (and uni'versal?) "Zen Power Adapter". Since both the Micro and the V series?only charge via USB I assume that the Zen Micro power adapter is compatible with the Zen V?Just want to be 00%?sure that it will work. Tia.

Creative is selling?the Micro Power adapter?on the?web site for $9.99. 67% off list price. That's better than paying $29.99!It said they were out of stock for now. When you click on the?link?asking if you wanted to be notified when they were back in stock; another window comes up and?it says?that it works with the Zen V and Zen V Plus.Message Edited by mjmvb on 2-7-200707:32 PM
