Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS prob

Hi.
I got a Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS.
My system is:
- XP Pro;
- 4GB Ram
- AMD Athlon 64
- Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe
I installed a new OS and the driver for the Audigy 2 ZS I downloaded from the web site.
My sound does work in games like CSS or WoW.
It doesn't work in Skype, Windows sound recorder, etc.
In Teamspeak I can hear people talking but cannot talk.
In the Windows device manager it shows that the driver for the Audigy 2 ZS is installed and that it works properly.
In the sound and audio devices properties the system doesn't see the Audigy 2 ZS.
Can anyone help me please.

Hi!
I appreciate the URL, but that is not what I was looking for.
I have that help files already. Also my unit is not the platinum.
I just have the card, and the picture I need is a closeup of the
rear bracket, so I can see, upside down, exactly what each connector is.
On most sound cards they are colour coded, and IF this one is, it is not visible.
And I have trouble seeing anyway ... OLD eyes LOL!
A few years ago there was an awesome full color, closeup, detailed photograph,
not a drawn picture on the net, somewhere, and I should have saved it then ...
The best laid plans! OH WELL!

CREATIVE And AudigY SE MadnessS!? Hi
WHich is the best driver verson for Audigy Se to use in Xp, I have full Driver Pack that comes with my Sound Card it's old,Drivers are of 2005 and Creative released Another set of drivers SBA_PCDRV_LB__04_006,Which is 2006 driver has not Microsoft WHQL Certified, and on 2007 another one SB24_VTDRV_LB__04_0077,Which is displaying my Audigy as SB Li've! 24bit under Sound & Audio Device properties, and the last 2007 version driver has so many problems When logon on to windows the logon sound is Automatically at High VOlume,It distorts, and all version of these Drivers lacks Treble,i should Pump up the treble In EQ to full get HIgh Frequencies Otherwise it's little bit Muddy,And 2007 Version has is faily Direct Sound Tests in Creative Diagonostic Utility.... There is some problems with Daniel_k Mod pack, even the latest support pack 2.6 , Sound is muddy in Games like Metro 2033,Nfs Most Wanted. PAX drivers are in Beta stage still Hope he will Fix the problem,So i'm Using CREATIVE Defalut Drivers, When Using Default one there is no Problem in games.... So Plz help me to decide Which CREATIVE driver Version IS best.... Plz reply..

    Pookie,

  • Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS (Tremor) Sound C

Hey there! Seems like I'm having the same problems that others are when they get a Gateway OEM Audigy...
Gateway doesn't offer any software like Creative does, they just post the drivers? Drivers: 5.2.4.442 ...
I built my own little PC however the Audigy 2 ZS is Gateway OEM? So does that mean I can never get Creative's software? Because this is suppose to be a great card. & I've heard my roommates. But he has everything Installed were I merely have the drivers located --
    http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/getFile.asp?id=9860&dscr=Creative%20SB%20Audigy%20 2%20ZS%20(Tremor)%20Sound%20Card%20Drivers%20%20Re vision:%205.2.4.442&uid=96355720
Now it seems that the only way to get all the cool sound effects is to have everything installed that comes with the Creative Audigy, so I went ahead & tried installing my buddies software seeing that we have the ?same card? but it won?t let me, it keeps stating I don?t have an Audigy in there.
Is there anything I can do? Maybe bypass that evil message? I mean the card is there & it is this company?s product? So shouldn?t we have access to the software?
    Please help!
Below are the drivers or what it says in my device manager.
& in my signature you can clearly see my PC?s specs.

  • Audigy 4 / Network Prob

I am running a Tyan Thunder K8WE mother board and have 2 7900GTX running in SLI, so they cover the only standard PCI slot so i cant use that (the fans take up a slot to themselves).
My only other options are the PCI-X slots (not PCI-E as thats where the 7900s are) at the bottom of the board. When i plug the card into either of these my oboard network stops working. As soon as i take the card out, my network starts again. I am running Windows XP 64 so i cant change any IRQ settings untill i turn off ACPI, but i have been told if i turn off ACPI, i cant run dual CPUs. Ive gone through these forums, Nvidia's forums (as the board uses nvida dri'ves for the network) Tyans forums and as yet i havent found a solution.
I have changed the bios to only have on what i need and there isnt an old driver issues as i refortmatted and reinstalled after disabling the sound in the bios so the old sound hasnt been installed.
I have read similar posts on these forums about the cards disabling onboard networks, but none have any solutions so i thaught id try.
If i have been missinformed and can run dual CPUs with turning ACPI off, then that means i can change the IRQs and see if thats the problem.
Any help / suggestions are welcome as i've spent a while on this so far trying to get it to work, if it takes too much longer im goin to take it back

Both NVIDIA Network Bus Enumerators are listed on both configurations --> both should be avaiable. And you're sure there is no conflict between any device/controller w/ Network Bus Enumerator.
What happens, if you release more resources by disabling Floppy Controller, COM and the other Network Bus Enumerator (bolded on upper IRQ list)? If no effect w/ the st Network Bus Enumerator then swap to the other.

  • Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 Zs help

Before I start rambling on about my problem here are my specs (BTW I'm not incredibly computer literate; my dad helped me install everything before I left for school):Cpu: Intel Duo Processor 2.66 GhzRAM: .5 GB DDR2Video Card: ATI Radeon 9600 (soon to be one of their newer models)OS: Windows XPSound Card: Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS?Ok so I was reinstalling everything after I had to format my computer. I get through installing my creative sound card and figure everything went great. I was playing my music when I had realized that I forgot to configure my sound card for them, as I was getting mono instead of stereo (was only playing out of left speakers). So I go into speaker setup and click on "calibrate speakers" or something like that. Anyway, the speaker calibrator says that It could not be ran for some reason (i forget). I figure that it wasn't working because I hadn't updated anything yet. I update, and I still get the same message. So I reinstalled the software and updated it again and now when I try to run ANY of my creative software related to the sound card (I.E. EAX console, Speaker Setup) it says that "The Audio device supported by this software is not detected. The Application will now shut down."? Now remember that I'm not great with computers, so my solution now will probably sound stupid. But anyways I figured that I had installed the wrong sound card software (it gives me three choices on the disc). I uninstall everything and choose another setting. I still got the same problem. So I try the third choice and I get the same problem. Any suggestions? I've tried all three choices and I still get the same problem.

I have the SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS sound card installed in my Dell 8400 PC. Does anyone know what the latest SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS driver version is? I currently have driver v 5.2.4.445 and date 8.7.04 I've tried to install this from the Creative site: SBA2_PCWDRV_LB__84_55-R.exe but keep getting a "setup could not detect and sound blaster audigy 2 on your system" error. The driver on the Dell site is: Creative Labs SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS: R92022.exe Thanks! Tony.
    Hi
You may first need to patch the driver package by using ctcomp.exe to get std. drivers (eg. not Dell specific) installed to your Dell PC. Search this forum after ctcomp.exe --> there you'll find some instructions too.
You can also find a link to the latest drivers available (I personally use Audigy 4 drivers from november 2005 --> can be found from creative support pages) by searching this forum (I think the latest WHQL version is .~62 for the original version).

  • Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS (WDM)-Picture of rear panel nee

    Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has, or knows where I can get a
picture of the back of the Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS (WDM).
The way I have my computer set up, I can not see the connectors
    and which one is which.
Also, there are NO colors on the back of my card.
(and I am going to be looking at it upside down) -
I remember seeing a great closeup shot, but that was years ago
I should I saved it back then!
I also would like to know how many external inputs there are on that card,
and are they stereo and/or digital?
Thank you for any help you can give me.
I have been searching for a few weeks to no avail.

  • Creative SoundBlaster Audigy Advanced MB software activation probl

Hello!?I bought?a software named Creative SoundBlaster Audigy Advanced MB, when I ordered my notebook Inspiron 720 from DELL, on the 8th? of September, 2007. They provided a CD for the software, which I installed, and it worked. But then later that day (when I recieved the laptop), I formatted the hard-disk for the following reasons - ) It only had 2 partitions for the entire dri've, one of which was a recovery partition, and I wanted to create more.2) I wanted to remove MediaDirect.3) I wanted to remove bloatware that DELL gave me with it, ie, DELL Quickset, DELL Support, DELL this, DELL that, Norton AntiVirus etc.4) I wanted Vista installed by my way. After I had done everything I wanted, I started to re-install the Creative software, the same way like I did before. But this time, when it took me to the transaction page and asked me for the reason of re-installing this software, it said "The CD Key has expired."?I have tried 2 different browsers,?I have cleared my cache, I have penta-checked my CD-Key before each install and have done anything a Computer Software engineer (me) would do, with the help of the Internet as well. But my every effort went in vain. Then, I did something I didn't want to do, I contact DELL technical support. Their solutions ranged from installing the latest drivers (yes, drivers for a software), to removing and re-installing the latest Internet Explorer (yes, they asked me to REMOVE IE) to put the HARDWARE in some other machine. Quite clearly, the 4 support executi'ves I talked to there at DELL had no clue as to what is going on and what is the problem. Then, after a 2 hours chat with another one of them, I was told that they just provide the software, and it is Creative's duty to handle everything later and asked me to talk to you. The email support page do not have the option of support for this software, so I selected some other product but sent my problem.
It would be very nice to know if there exists a solution to this problem, and how should I approach it. It has only been 20 days since I bought this software. Thank you!

Finally, I got a reply from the email team, and they sought some further information, which I duly provided. Then, they provided me with a new CD Key. But here is the thing, they say after 3 times of re-installing the software, I will have to pay for it. What? Why would I pay for something which I bought, again and again? The whole world knows about Windows Vista, how incompatible it is with more than 80% of the software, and it will be the same till SP is released. I have since this Sunday gone have re-installed vista 4 times, once due to the fact that AHCI in the BIOS was not enabled by default, and I had to re-do the installation, then it was SATA drivers not presentonthe Vists disk, then the nVidia drivers had problem with Vista and it crippled it and won't go and then the Windows Media Player , quite clearly still not fully functionable, made my system bust. And I can say that it will happen again, so why do I have to pay some part of the software's price again? I am not using it on any other machine, and that is checked by it's CRC checker anyways, I am not using it for any business project, which shouldn't be a problem even if I did, as I own it. If any of you guys have an answer to this, please let me know.
Thank you, and have a very nice day all!

Everything seems to be OK so it's propably the drivers for your modem that is causing the issue. Just try if updating them helps anything.
Also, you can turn the MPU-40 (onboard MIDI/Game port) if you dont need it.

  • Creative Zen Plus & Creative Soundblaster Audigy 4. Can the two be linked in any w

Hello and good morning. I've an extensi've collection of music consisting of 35,000 tracks which I play through my Creative Soundblaster Audigy 4 via my hi fi system. In order to access these tracks when using the Creative Zen Plus, I notice it calls up only the file name which is a time consuming effort to get tracks transferred. To your knowledge,is there a way to use the Creative Soundblaster to 'drag and drop' individual tracks straight into the Creative Zen using the 'burn now' facility?
Any help and assistance would be highly appreciated. Thank you very much indeed for your help.
    Alan L.

Didn't your soundcard come with MediaSource? If so, you can transfer the tracks that have already been converted to MP3 or WMV format directly to your player. MediaSource also displays the content by ID3 Tag titles once they've been entered into the Music Library.

  • Creative sb audigy, needs info on pins at the end of card

I am trying to install a panel that includes the sound card output and input connector for the panel. It connecting wire include about 5 to 20 connectors for the sound card, but it has no markings it to identify the pins on the board. I have been looking for the info for some time now and had no success. The info would be much appreciate. @7.68.93.24

=Re: creative sb audigy, needs info on pins at the end of card Those pins aren't for connecting to the front panel, they are for connecting to the breakout box that came with the Platinum version of the card. The pins for the front panel connections (if present on the card) is a 0 pin block usually in an inline config (you can pretty much thank dell for that connector becoming standard on Creative cards). If it helps any here is exactly how to use it,

  • Creative SB Audigy 2

I posted this on the speakers section - but I don't believe it's a speaker issue anymore.
I have the creative SB Audigy 2 zs sound card in my Windows XP Media Center 2005. A couple weeks ago I started hearing popping coming from my speakers - it sounds just like sitting in front of burning fire. It has progressivly gotten worse. I've tried everything I can think of - including some tutorials from Creative about how to get popping noises to stop - but nothing seems to work.
I've plugged in other speakers to make sure it was a sound card issue and not just the speakers themselves, as well as tried headphones, and routing the sound directly to my TV. Anyway I try it, I get the noise.
However, if I reboot, sometimes the noise will stop for a little while - but it always comes back. Sometimes if I reboot, the noise is there as soon as I get into windows. There doesn't seem to a way to trigger the sound - it just starts at somepoint, and I cant' make it go away - until I shut the computer off - or sometimes by rebooting.
    Anyone have any thoughts?
    Simon
    My original post...
I have Creative Giga works s750 on my windows XP media center machine. 2 days ago, the front left speaker started making a popping noise every once in a while - and then the front right joined in - but at the same interval. The front left seems to do about every 0 seconds or so - and the front right does it every half hour or so. I switched connections from the front left speaker to the side left speaker to make sure it wasn't actually the speaker that was faulty, but the side left speaker made the noise as well when put in the front left position. So I've ruled out faulty speakers. I haven't made any changes to my media center, and I checked auto updates to make sure nothing went on there without me knowing about it and the machine is still the same as it was last week when the speakers worked properly. I updated the drivers for my sound card in an attempt to see if that would help - but it did not.
I haven't had the speakers turned up all the way or anything like that - so I don't think the speakers are blown. Anyone have any suggestions - or experienced this before?

clean windows from audigy drivers and reinstall from original cd,those are best,i had same with beta drivers

  • Creative SB Audigy 2 NX CLA for my notebook Dell Inspiron6

I have a Dell Inspiron6400 notebook. I want to buy a Creative SB Audigy 2NX CLA exterior soundcard for to send music trough internet without using microfon. Can I do it with this soundcard. Will I see stereomix in my sound manager record settings. I want to share playing music in internet without microphone which I am unable to do with my notebook now.Hope you can help me to make a right deceition upon a saound card that I have to buy.

Hi Chris. The original disks will not work at all, not a single piece of software on them can function with Vista. They'll install just fine, but they can't recognize the audio device because the driver Vista uses is unrecognizable to the old software, which can only work with the old XP driver. So you're a bit up the creek with that method of install.
    Please perform the following:
    1. Uninstall EVERYTHING you've got on your Vista machine now related to your Creative audio device. It will only cause you headaches later on.
    2. Go to this page: Audigy 2 NX Everything
    3. Create a separate folder on your machine and download to it the USB Vista Driver, Alchemy (newest), CD driver (newest), Wavestudio 7 (newest), Creative Mediasource 5 (newest) and the Entertainment Center (newest). Please check the details of each to be sure you're getting the product with Vista support.
    4. Install the USB Driver first. Vista has one already, but it's too basic and doesn't allow you to manage any settings properly. Then everything else.
Prepare to be a bit disappointed. A LOT of functionality has been lost in the new Vista software including: NO remote control functionality (except for volume but that's only with MediaSource running and it's VERY VERY SPOTTY, I gave up on it entirely), NO DVD PLAYBACK (which is retarded...CREATIVE, FIX THAT NOW!!), Poor CMSS (if any), Spotty EAX even with Alchemy, NO MP3 SUPPORT (you have to buy that separately now for yet another $10) and a host of other issues making the Audigy NX a poor candidate for a laptop running Vista (and what laptop ISN'T nowadays ).
But you are where you are. Enjoy what I have listed above and please feel free to ask for further assistance. It is my hope that Creative is actively working on brining the Audigy 2 NX back to life for we Vista owners out here in the real world. Hopefully the issues I've listed above will all be fixed in short order.
