Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 zs Platinum - Smash Party Toda

I have recently spent over $0 thousand dollars on upgrading every computer in my building to Quadcore 64bit vista systems. The only component that remained the same were the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 zs Platinum dri'ves that every system has. I have been up for 2 days trying to figure out why the external dri've will not work at all, for any system. Everyone in the office is giving me grief over the new stuff because of thing, nobody can get their mics to work, or anything on the external dri've to function.
After reading up on the Dan.k story, and creatives deliberate attempts to be as difficult as possible, even to the point of charging me AGAIN, to make a product work (alchemy), I have decided later today were having a little get together at lunch where I will be instructing my employees to remove their sound cards, and smash them. Hey, I can afford it. Its the principle of the matter that bothers me. I used a valid email obviously to get on this forum. Shoot me an email if you don't believe it creative, and ill send you pictures when we're finished.
I have used ONLY creative products for sound since the 90s. I have at home, a closet full of creative products that I have personally upgraded from over the years. I have been a loyal customer for over a decade. Thankfully I found the dan. K story before I finished finding out weather or not the newest creative products work with vista, because Ive had my Credit Card out for 0 hours now just trying to find the right buy. Creative, you lost it big time.
Mike Wilson.

As an IT manager, I'd be more inclined to find out who made the decision to implement this change. Then find all the people who were responsible for deploying all of these systems out to users without testing to insure that they worked. All of these people are responsible for countless numbers of resource hours by introducing a non-tested system into your company's user community. Then, I'd introduce them all to the ever increasing base of the unemployed. The $0K hardware investment that you claim to have made is only the beginning, the overall cost of lost human resource hours will prove to be far more significant.

I have been using this card for over year now and its a great card. I have all the latest updates for it. But for some reason when i turn on or restart my computer the Creative Volume Control Icon does not come on in the task tray when the computer boots up. It is set in the start up list and in the Surround Mixer settings.
Can some one please help me on this?
Thanks

cookiemonster,
Open the surround mixer program and click at the down triangle that's just next to the "?" at the top right hand corner. There's some options there for you to display the volume icon.

• Creative Sound Blaster Audigy ZS And Vista Driver installation prob

HI!
I encounter Installation problems with that file:
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Value/SE/LS and Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit XP and Windows Vista Pack .04.0077
I Use Vista 64Bit Ultimate and when I try to install this package I have an error message after my language selection. Is there a known issue for this
Thanks!

Yes it is called trying to install the wrong driver for your card. Will work much better if you try installing the correct one,
SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_000.exe
Also helps if you click on the "Show Details" link on the download page, then you would see that the one you tried to install doesn't support your card,
Requirements:
Microsoft Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 or Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004
Sound Blaster Audigy Value/SE/LS, or Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit audio devices
whereas the correct driver shows the following,
This download supports the following audio devices only:
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy including Platinum and Platinum eX series
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 including Platinum, Platinum eX, and Value series
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS including Platinum and Platinum Pro series

• Pin Specifications for Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SB1394

;Pin Specifications for Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SB394 I have a Sound Blaster Audigy SB934 CA000-IAF Creative Tech '0 AA299J basically a Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum (wiouth the front bay for conectivity.)? And since I dont' have the front bay for heaphone and mic conectivity I was wondering if there is a spec sheet for the 40-Pin conectivity that is used for the front bay. I was wondering if anyone could provide me with such spec sheet so that I can try to conect my frontal Intel board plugs for headphone and microphone (would like to use my headset.)
There are a lot of pins on the card and well only about 8 in the conector for the front plugs. So if any dev from the forum is reading this I would greatly apreciate it if I could use my front Intel sound plugs on this old model card.
Thank you for all your help.

• Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro Prob

Recently I've purchased the Creative Power Pack Pro 7., it included the <SPAN class=textbluebold>Creative GigaWorks 7. S750
<SPAN class=textbluebold>speakers, and <SPAN class=textbluebold>Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro soundcard. I've installed my Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro card and setup my Sound Blaster GigaWorks S750 speakers but so far after many attempts haven't gotten them to work. I've tried all updates off the Creative site and gone through the cards settings. For some reason in the speaker settings it only lists Headphones, 2., 4. and 5. speaker settings, leaving out 7.. I've checked all plugins and hookups, and am stuck for now. I have a brand new Sony Vaio computer, so i know that my computer is not the problem. I read through all the forms and I was only able to find one other question like mine, one person answered saying that the <SPAN class=textbluebold>Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro is not compatible with 7. speakers. I have no clue why Creative would sell the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and GigaWorks S750 7. speakers if they are not compatible with each other. Someone please help me. Thanks.

• Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum with Vista 64

0Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum with Vista 64Y Hi
I'm considering buying a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum (with front panel) off ebay, but first I'd like to know if certain features will be compatible with my system. I'm running Vista Home Basic 64bit (hardware is an Asus P5Q-E, Q6600, 2GB of RAM, ATI Radeon HD4850, etc). I'll be using this card for my PC's 5. surround sound system (using the stereo outputs), and more importantly, recording some music. I want to achieve this by using the optical S/PDIF port, as my bass guitar effects board has an S/PDIF output and I've got an S/PDIF cable. I'd also like to use the Line In and Mic inputs. The driver before the latest one for this card said that there was no S/PDIF passthrough for Vista. Has the latest driver got everything I need fixed, so I can just plug it in, install the drivers and then be happily recording through these three inputs?
Thanks for the help?

I am brand new to this message system but I am so desperate for help I thought I would try it. After reading lots of comments I find that my problem may be more the rule than the exception. I have an Audigy @ Platinum card and all I ever get from it is crackling and popping. I have been around and around with Creative support but nothing they tell me results in a fix. I am so disgusted at this point that I am ready to just trash the whole thing. I have gone through the BIOS and checked so many settings its a shame. Still crackling and popping. I NEED SPECIFIC ANSWERS FROM SOMEBODY...not just the generic flip the wingle wangle to port xyz and move this to that. here has got to be an answer to this maddening problem. The other thing is that now I can't get my MIDI keyboard to play back. I must have turned something off in the set up process but now I have no idea what to do.
If anyone has any solid answers for me PLEASE come forward with them before I kill someone!

• Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro Ad_link Cable

Hi,? I have the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and my Ad_Link cable has been damaged. I have contacted every on line auction house and everyone in and out of the United States and no one has this cable available. What I am looking for now is one of 2 things;? the specs of this cable (which is not listed in any of the documentation that came with the product, nor is it on the web-site, nor does Customer Support seem to have this information), or a comparable cable that will work in it's place.
Thanks for any help that anyone can offer.

• Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Value/SE/LS Driver 01.04.0

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Value/SE/LS and Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit Vista Beta Driver 0.04.0055
Yeah, 32-bit, wooo.
When will a 64-bit version be available?

Has anyone tried the "AMD64" Driver for the Audigy Value (I assume this is the SE?) that is on the bundled CD?
I tried different driversets from the download/support site to no avail.
I didn't think about the CD driver until I got to work this morning.
Really wishing I picked up the Li've! (yesterday) instead of the Audigy Value now
...expected this card to have a better chance, especially with "x64 drivers" on the box.
Oh well, I'll give it one more shot tonight with those CD drivers... hopefully something will work.Message Edited by abz on 2-07-200604:08 PM

• Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy? 2 ZS Video Editorc Hello.
I've recently changed from WinXP Pro SP3 x86 to Win7 Ultimate x64.
After installing the only available driver [Beta .0.0098] and rebooting, the Device Manager still lists an Unknown Device which corresponds to the video part.
<img border="0"><a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/8/videoeditorprob.jpg"]http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/8/videoeditorprob.jpg
In Windows XP there were always two devices listed:
- SB Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor Audio Device;
- SB Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor Video Device.
I've tried to do the steps mentioned here <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://forums.creative.com/t5/Windows-Vista/WILL-YOU-SUPPORT-THE-AUDIGY-2-ZS-VIDEO-EDITOR-IN-VISTA/m-p/3602"]http://forums.creative.com/t5/Windows-Vista/WILL-YOU-SUPPORT-THE-AUDIGY-2-ZS-VIDEO-EDITOR-IN-VISTA/m-p/3602 with both old and more recent XP/Vista 32/64 drivers and I still can't get the device installed and VidCap properly running.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I have the exact same problem and would very much like to know if there are 64bit drivers available.
Thanks in advance.

• Is Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX USB sound card compatible with Dell deskt

Im considering buying the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX USB sound card to use with a Dell desktop XPS 40, but recently read a forum message on another page that there was a issue with installing on a Dell Tower but no problems with installing on a laptop
any help is appreciated if there are any compatibility issues with using this sound card on a Dell desktop, Thanks
the main reason I would like to upgrade to this card is so my pc doesnt use the integrated audio which Id like better quality performance with a sound card and also dont want to install a internal card on the system

joaolfb,
Audigy 2 NX will need to be connected with the power adaptor inorder to run. USB will not be enough to sustain the power consumption of the sound card.

• Capturing laserdisc AC3 signal with Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum

I'm considering converting my laserdisc collection over to DVD.
As far as PC hadware is concerned, I have the ATI All-In-Wonder 9800 Pro and the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro.
My system in a 3.2G P4 on a Intel D875PBZ board w/ 2Gig of memory. Connected are 3 dri'ves, (2) 250G SATA dri'ves and () old 250G IDE dri've that I keep archi'ves on.
The laserdisc player has the following:
AC-3 Bit Stream / PCM Optical Output AC-3 Bit Stream / PCM Coaxial Output PCM Coaxial Output
I was planning to use the optical input of the soundcard but was unsure what to use to capture the digital stream to capture the entire surround channel info. Normally audio is captured as an uncompressed WAV and then converted to AC3 which to me is a wasted step since it's only going to wind up as AC3 again
I've used Virtual dub in the past to capture TV broadcasts, but I seem to be at a loss on this current venture. Any assistance will be great

Alright, let me just double check...
As long as the output from my laserdisc is 48K then things should work fine and I should receive the entire unadulterated stream, no data padding or modification. If it's not 48k then it won't. This is as long as I save it as 2. PCM audio stream
The audiobitrate for AC3 should be at 384k, and this will be preserved using the above method?
From what I'm reading, this unprocessed stream should sound like white noise. Once processed by cooledit , Soundforge or besweet I should have the DD 5. soundtrack intact and not a 2 channel AC stream?
Sorry if I am rephrasing things but I just want to be absolutly certain when I start this project .

• Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 B4

Ok so as listed above, my current soundcard is a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 B400, now when you google that the card doesnt come up unless its a ZS? My card is NOT a ZS though, its exactly as stated. Anyway, since its almost impossible to find I HAVE found a picture of the back of the card:
http://mayhem.prod.googlepages.com/p...inout-full.jpg
Now on to my question. I'm looking to buy?the Logitech Z-5500 5. surround sound (Digital) for my computer, now, I want to be sure that this card can support two things.
) The digital input itself, my card has a white "Digital" input, so obviously my first guess is yes.
2) This cable: http://www.monstercable.com/productdisplay.asp?pin=600
And if it can support that cable, will it benefit me? Sorry for the trouble, I just dont want to spend the money and not be able to support it. Thanks for the help.

By the Creative audio product database, SB0400 = Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Value. You'll find the User's Guide through Support->Product Documentation ... ther're diagrams for connectivity in guide. It's possible you need addon for S/PDIF connections.

• Creative sound blaster audigy 2 zs h

I have creative sound blaster audigy 2 zs card and a set of AV labs, amped 7. sound system speakers. i have 4 input wires to plug into the card and it only seems to have 3 output jacks. When i go and calibrate the speakers i am missing out on my two surround speakers. how should i be hooking these up. There is probaly a simple ansew to this but it has me stumped. help please

Please read Creative's speaker connectivity guide: <A href="]http://ask.americas.creative.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=787,E=0000000000070303557,K=54,Sxi=0,Question3 895=obj(3895): obj(3899)) (Remove the space between ": obj", I wrote so cause I get a smiley otherwise:angry: )
As you will see in the article, the Audigy is fitted with two 4-pole connectors, which can carry 3-channels each. So you only need 3 wires for a 7. system, as you have 2 normal stereo plugs (3-pole) and 2 3-channel plugs (2*2+2*3=8). You will most probably need different wiring for your speaker system as it appears you have 4 stereo plugs.

• Mic2 front panel of sound blaster audigy 2 zs platinum still not worki

anyone..... please help!!!
I have a sound blaster audigy 2 zs platinum, everything is hooked up perfectly including all power cable, and connectors to the front dri've bay. I have a samson q7 microphone that is connected using xlr female to /4" plug to the mic2 jack but I got no input signal. I then tried also using just a /4" to /8" to the back mic port of the PCI, no signal either. My friend said this mic doesn't need any other power like a phantom power or anything
can you please help me!
X

If you're using a dynamic microphone, the Audigy 2 ZS dri've bay has a jumper which you can change for it to support dynamic microphones instead of electret microphones. However once this is done you won't be able to use electret mics until you've changed the jumper setting back.
