Find SBL5DL_PCPatch_LB_3.exe, and then install it.

I downloaded above EXE file from creative web site and tried but it says File does not support Vista.
Can anyone please Help!!!

The front panel connections you want to use are adapted to be connected to a motherboard with audio included, NOT to a PCI audio card. You'll have to connect the front panel wires to your motherboard's audio connnector.

Take a look at the following thread:http://forums.creative.com/creativel...message.id=994?That is the best you can get. Did you run WindowsUpdate to get the drivers installed? If you did, just change the speaker setup to?4 speakers, then check and uncheck the?Digital Output Only checkbox to get sound back.

  • Old Creative Sound Blaster Live Drivers Update

.Old Creative Sound Blaster Li've Drivers Update? Hey Guys,
In 998 or 999 I installed Sound Blaster Li've! MP3+ in my MicronPC Pnetium? using Windows ME. Subsequently I upgraded my computers to Windows XP professional in 2006. At that timCreative Labs still had some drivers update for this device.
I only used it for listening to muic occassionally, so there is nourgent need for me to upgrade the sound card. But recently I had a spyware scan and since then my sound card stopped wroking. I tried to follow the Microsoft suggestion:
    Start
    All programs
    Accesories
    Enertainment
    Volume Control
    Options
    Adv. Controls
    Advanced Options
    Play Control
Check out the box Digital output only
But I ould not find "advanced options by following the above sequence. I tried to load AudioHQU, but it said that my driver AHQTBU.exe needs to be reloaded.
I tried various web sites and I could not find a site that has the downolads for supporting this old iece of hardware
    ?Your kind assistance is appreciated

This is the new  Official Audio driver  released by Creative for  Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit for Windows x64.
You can not install this driver in your MSI nForce4 based boards without first applying the OnBoard Sound EEPROM fix first found  here
You have to boot in win98 or  winMe using a boot diskette in order to run the fix.

Have you actually tired it yourself?  I'm wondering if this is a workaround, or will this be the official solution.  I wouldn't mind trying it, but I don't want to mess it up for when the Official driver is released.

  • My Sound Blaster Live 5.1 Digital won't work with Vista

First off, I wasn't sure whether to put this in the vista or Sound Blaster form so sorry if this is the wrong place.
Anyways. I got a new computer two days ago and just installed my old Sound Blaster li've 5. Digital (model SB0220) card into the new desktop. Vista, the operating system I'm using now tried to find the drivers but failed. Then I tried looking them up on the creative site with the drop down lists but it didn't pull up anything either.
I plan on buying an m-audio 2496 sound card soon but for now I would like to get back to recording and the Sound Blaster card is much better than the stock motherboard audio setup.
If anyone knows of any drivers for this card it would be extremely helpful.
ThanksMessage Edited by 85Dave on 07-0-200707:22 AM

    hmm...thanks.
Well its not that bad really. sound blaster cards are not made for recording audio and so I was going to get the m-audio 2496 card anyways.
I'm just waiting for drivers on that which are supposed to come some time in the 2nd half of 2007.
    Thanks for the info.

  • Installation CD for Creative Sound Blaster Live 24-bit External SB0490

    Hi,
I've bought this old external soundcard without the original installation CD, because I thought I can download all needed software here on the creative site. But no, only the drivers and some simple program updates are available :-(. With the creative drivers installed, I only get hacked sound on the digital coax output, SPDIF is also not working correctly. I suppose I have to do some configuration in the creative suite software, but this suite can only be installed from the original installation CD...
Is here somebody who can tell me where I can download an ISO of this CD or perhaps make an upload of it?
    Kind Regards
    Steven

HRe: Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit External (SB0490) choppy background sound? I've been having the same problem with mine. ?At first, all it would take is unplug the laptop end of the USB, wait a second, then plug it back in. ?A sound (incoming mail, reminder, general Windows sound) had to initiate the sound. ?It's almost like a CD skipping, but the sound played has no bearing on the popping sound. ?It's always the same pitch, timing, etc. no matter the sound that caused it.
I've blue screened a couple of times too over the past couple of weeks. ?I've only been able to catch 'USB' during the blue screen before it reboots, so I don't have a code number to chase down.
I'm using Windows Vista Premium Edition on a Gateway laptop that's about two years old. ?I'm being lazy, and not looking, but I'm pretty sure it's got a .6GHz DualCore proc, I upped the RAM to 2GB, I had to replace the HDD and I honestly don't recall the brand.
It's gotten to the point now that even unplugging and then replugging doesn't really affect it anymore. ?I know that I've updated the driver a couple of times. ?The first time Vista whined about it. ?Going to see if there's a more current version, but I don't really have any further help or suggestions.
    Hopefully something will come up.

  • Problems with Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 and a freshly reformatted windows 98se

    Hello.
Lets get right down to business shall we? I've recently reformatted my computer and reinstalled the somewhat outdated OS windows 98 second edition. I've only recently managed to get my network card and modem working with my refreshed machine again but now I'm having problems getting my sound card (Sound Blaster Li've! 5. Digital) working again too. Its as if the computer CAN'T recognize the fact that there is a sound card inserted into the port. What do I do?

Try the card in another PCI slot to see if it will pick it up then.
Which model is this exactly (like Li've 5. Player, Li've 5. Digital, or another)? Do you know which model number is printed on the card?
It's possible the card doesn't have Windows98 support, newer cards do not support that Operating System so it may not have drivers on the CD for that OS.

  • Connection Logitech Z-680's to Creative Sound Blaster Live 24 Bit Exter

Trying to connect my Logitech Z-680?Speakers to connect to my Sound card. I can either use optical or the analog (3x 3.5mm jacks)
What is the best way to connect them? Also on the speakers depending on which cables i used, i have different effect options. If its using the analog :-6 channel directstereostereo x 2DD PL 2 MusicDD PL 2 Movie? If using optical:-StereoStereo x 2DD PL 2 MusicDD PL 2 Movie?Which should i use?for Music i will change the effect to DD PL 2 Music - so i get 5. sounds from my tracks. But which for movies? Are they're any changes that i have to make to the DVD program that i use? Also should i have CMSS on the soundblaster on or off? Thanks

I recommend using Optical (since its digital connection). (Also for to send to an external reci'ver to decode Dolby digital and DTS i beli've you need to use SPDIF (optical) out cause otherwise analog i beli've won't do it)? Those modes you?said?are up mixing modes for 2 channel sources like music?(best used with digital connections). Since movies are already 5. you don't need to use up mixing.
CMSS is for use on?analog?connections on the soundcard?only and is upmixing 2 channel?sources like music. Games i would recommend?analog since gaming can't do surround sound over digital. Depending on your DVD app wether it has SPDIF out is on the app. if its supports it should be fine.Message Edited by Stargazer on 02-24-20062:27 AM

  • Creative sound blaster live va

<SPAN class=postbody>so i have a card installed on my pc. 4 speakers sub but when i play audio cds sound only came out of 2 speakers. i tried installing a newer version of the sound blaster softwares but was told to unistall the old ones. when i went through the process again i got an error message saying no audio devices could be found. now i have no sound at all. i tried to unistall / install the card, windows update, directx. i can install the old software again but when i try to get in the properties i get messages that direct sound cannot be launched. nothing seems to work.

First things first. Most CD's will only play left and right chanel depending on the program you are using to play audio CD's. If you can get your sound cards play control to open and show you the volume controls.
Usualy double clicking on the speaker down by the clock in the lower right corner.
If you see front and rear settings is the rear volume control at minimum or maximum?
Change it as needed if its there.
In the program you use to play the CD's look in its properties setting and see if there are any front and rear settings. Also do your speakers have a front and rear volume on them?
Be warned if you change some of these setting your games might be loud from the rear.
    Hope this hel
    ps.

  • Sound Blaster Live Platinum 5.1 and MCE2

I have recently built myself a WindowsXP Media Center Edition PC for my entertainement box. I also own a Sound Blaster Li've! Platinum 5. that I bought when it just came out. I have installed the drivers from a new CD that I found on the Net, these work fine. Everything works except for the following. I had a look @ the remote and it has everything that MCE would need to control it.
Now, my problem is this. Does anyone know how I can let that remote operate MCE? I have looked all over the net, and I havn't found anything that allows me to configure it. Any Idea?

You may have to use the connection on the rear of the sound card...there should have had a "Y" shaped cable included with the speaker/sound card..it has a small 1/8" plug on the single end and opens to a din plug and rca type pluge on the other...try the single end in the orange input at the sound card and the other two plug in to the speaker system..sorry bout being so vaugue, i'm kinda tired..but if you need the original speaker system/ sound card owner's manuals with the installation diagrams I can get them to you.

  • I Lost my Creative Sound Blaster Live! Installation

    Hi
I've lost my Installation CD. Anyone haves it and know a way to send it to me, or where can i download?

About Using ctcomp.exe and something else for Li've! users (depending which version of modding you tried).

    Automatic Method
Download this patch (thanks to DVDKingdom), run it, have it point to the \Audio\Setup folder of the full software suite that you downloaded, and then proceed with patching. If you?ve also downloaded the updated driver file from Creative?s site, you must run the patch again and point it to the main folder where you extracted it to. The application updates need no modification. If all went well (very unlikely that it didn?t), then you should be ready to install and can skip the manual modification.
    etc ...
    Troubleshooting
I am having a lot of trouble trying to get everything working on my Li've! card!
As stated before, during installation you must remember not to install the EAX Console and Creative Speaker Calibration applications. They are incompatible with the Li've! cards. Also, if you are having problems getting digital output working on your Li've! card, a fix can be acquired here (thanks to evil_one). If you are still having difficulties, it is recommended to just go back to the previous driver you were using.
    etc...

  • Creative Sound Blaster Live 1024 OEM (CT48

Setup locks-up my computer during installation.
Therefore I cant get the driver to install itself.
I use the original Soundblaster installation program.
    What do I do wrong?

    Dear Jutapa,
I have had it with this card!
Today I went walking with my dog, as I do every day! And nearby there is a little computer company! There was a guy outside smoking a sitgarette, and i ask him if he had ever installed a SB Li've! Value card! He said he did! After telling him my story, he said that you couldnt install the soundcard from the files you find on the internet! It needed to be done from the supplied disk from Creative, he said! So they put it on a cd for me, me being happy!
Coming home, I found out that I had downloaded the same file, 5 times already from different sites already!
If have read so many threats also, and the only thing i found out is that a driver with a yellow ! means a resourse conflict! And I tried to alter that aswell ofcourse!
I even took the networkcard out, and tried all slots! As I read that first you should install the graphics card, then the sonundcard, and then the networkcard, As resources may be taken from the latter, and conflict with the soundcard as the networkcard installs first during booting!
I have been working 3 days with no end now on this card now! I would have really liked to hear this card work, the reverb and all! I read evaluations that this would be a nice card in sound!
I just give up! All my efforts only made my system going faulty, and I hate that!
Maybe because I have an AGP graphics card? I donnt know any more!
If you have some advice, it would be welcome! Other wise, I go back to my crappy old sound card! Atleast than I get cd and mp3 sound, and a ping when someone gets online!
Thank you very much for your help and effort! Maybe its just a doggy card!
    Greetings, Hans...

  • Multiple problems with Creative Sound Blaster Live X-Gamer CT4

First I'd like to point out that I'm lacking the installation CDs, the manual, etc.
My problem is the following: I've downloaded what I think are the appropriate drivers for this sound card from the Creative Labs site. Correct me if I'm wrong or if I actually have to re-download a driver installation package from some other place in particular
Ok, concretely, my problem is that the drivers either are not matching, or there's something wrong with my card (it slows down my system on the startup)
Here are some pics of my current situation:

BTW, there's some type of "cord" in the sound card that isn't plugged into anything in my computer. Do I need to connect it somewhere?

Try this. I also have the ISO image for the CD and I can send it to you but it's 540MB and require you to provide me a place to upload to.
