Creative Suite 1 upgrade

Creative Suite 1 will not run on my iMac Intel based machine. What is the quickest/cheapest way for me to get this suite of software upgraded to it will run on OS X Lion?

Adobe Creative Suite 1 came out in September 2003, according to Wikipedia. It was designed for PowerPC processors on a Mac.
You've also passed the period where you can get an upgrade price to Creative Suite 5.5, the current version by at least a couple years. You'll have to buy a full version. Go to www.adobe.com to look at pricing for various editions.
Sorry.

  • Adobe Creative Suite 5 / Upgrade System Windows Vista to Windows 7

    Dear customer service,
I am a customer of Adobe as I bought two years ago the Adobe Creative Suite 5.
My system is still Windows Vista. Now I wanna buy the Microsoft Home Office 2013 and now I have to upgrade from
    Windows Vista to Windows 7.
My question is if there will be any problem with the Adobe Creative Suite 5? Or can I only put in the upgrade CD,
leave the Creative Suite on my pc and have nothing else to do than just installing?
    Thank you for your reply.
    With best regards,
    Nicole

Correct. You only need to run the CS5 installer and have to provide the pertinent serial numbers in the process. Just make sure you run Help --> Deactivate bevor nuking your Vista install and reformatting your drive. If there are issues during the install, ask in the Download, Install & Setup forum.

  • G4 MMD with OS 10.2.8 using Adobe Creative Suite 2 & upgrading to Tiger?

I have a Powermac G4 Mirror Door running Mac OS X v. 10.2.8. It has, Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Pro, Adobe Bridge, Adobe Creative Suite 2, Adobe Illustrator CS2, In Design CS2, Photoshop CS2, Version CS2, Creator Professional 7.0.3. My question is, if I upgrade my OS to Tiger using Archive and Install will the above listed programs still work?
    Thanks everyone,
    kryla

Hi- actually no, I had nothing unusual- anything questionable went into the previous system file, but I've had no cause to deal with the previous system file.
Offhand, if I remember, here's what worked without any problem, although there were some complaints when leopard first came out that these things would NOT work.
    these were ok:
office 2004, filemaker pro6, quicken 2005, gradebook, personal organizer (chronos),photoshop elements 4, stuff for canoscan 8400F, inspiration, isay, ....can't think of anything else off hand; no problems with printers either.
Those programs you mention...I just don't know.. maybe disable them? All I can say is that Leopard is running great on my old pb and I'm going to keep it going as long as I can.
I'm not sure I'm going to put leopard on the mirrored doors desktop, it is still stable, never crashes, but maybe, or maybe I should just quit while I'm ahead.

  • Creative Suite 4 upgrade will not accept serial number

I purchased Creative Suite 4 as an upgrade to Dreamweaver MX and everything was fine until my laptop packed up. On my new laptop I have re-installed Creative Suite 4 but it will not accept the serial number.
I suspect this is because I do not have Dreamweaver MX installed on my new machine. I no longer have my Dreamweaver MX CD or serial number so am unable to re-install it.
After a lengthy discussion with Customer Services they could offer no advice and suggested I post a question on the forums for advice.
I would be grateful for any suggestions as to how I can get Creative Suite 4 to accept my serial number.

Support is wrong. Only they can fix serail number issues since only they have access to the databases. Try again and request a different operator.

  • Creative Suite 2 - upgrade required

I am using a Power Mac G5 - running OS 10.5 Lopard. I have Creative Suite 2 and want to upgrade to 5 if I can or CS4 if not!
I can download these or buy second hand discs!
How much will an Install / Licence cost?
    Thanks in advance.

I don't follow. Used licenses have nothing to do with Adobe beyond the license transfer. The rest is between and the seller. Adobe only sells current versions, in which case none of this is relevant, anyway. you are long beyond any upgrade cycles and can only buy a fresh license. That said, none of what you are trying to do really makes sense. The last version that fully supported PPC was CS3, in CS4 only Photoshop, illustrator and InDesign support it still and in CS5 only intel Macs are supported. If you were to spend any money, buying an affordable new computer would be almost inevitable to actually run your then to be new software...

  • Creative Suite Premium Upgrade?

If I have Adobe Creative Suite Premium and I buy the CS3 or CS4 upgrade (off ebay), will I get an upgraded version of GoLive?  Will I get Dreamweaver?  Will I get neither?  Can anyone help me out here?

Well if you buy it off ebay its most likely a pirate version and the pirates will have your credit card number too. Not a wise move.
and you only get dreamweaver with CS3 and 4. GoLive 9 was a piece of crap and not worth the upgrade fee.
If you are going to get CS4 which is the only version available retail and from Adobe, now is the time to do so before you are out of the upgrade path.

  • Creative Suite CLP upgrade & failed installation

I'm trying to install the upgrade for Creative Suite 2.3 Premium and I try to install Acrobat 8 PRO, but the installation keeps failing. I type in the serial numbers that I have. I tried it both with and without the dashes in them, and the software says invalid serial number every time. I tried to set up an e-license for this since it says that Acrobat 8 needs to have an e-license, but when I click start on the setup e-license page, it says "No [order] result found." Do I need to set up the ALM or should it work with the serial number and if I need to set up the ALM, why can't it find my order? Any help?
    Jonathan

I have downloaded the Creative Suite 2.3, saving them (7 total download portions)to the proper download file folder and everything went well.
Now I am trying to install the CS2 and it works for disk 1(seems like Disk 1 is automatic) then makes a request for Disk 2 which I don't have as this was an EDS (electronic download of the wuite). Then it closes me out cold. What am I missing as to the installation? Why doesn't these programs come on CD's so this doesn't happen?

  • Selling Creative Suite CS5 (upgraded from CS3)?

    Hi there,
I want to sell my Mac copy of Adobe Creative Suite CS5 Master Collection.
Will I have a problem because it was upgraded from CS3? (I still have the boxed copy of that too).
I've been reading about the license transfer thing:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/transfer-product-license.html?PID=21599 97
    - is this workable if I am selling on ebay? Will the buyer need to fill this out too? It sounds like a convoluted process...
Just wondering if there is an established simple process for doing this.
    Thanks!
    Mark

Each and every license transfer requires to go through the procedures. There are no shortcuts. Selling upgraded versions requires to include all previous qualifying products.

  • Creative Suites 4, upgraded to ver. 5.5 and still having problem

I posted a previous question, but couldn't figure out how to add something to the thread (?!) Also, I mistakenly described it as "Adobe Resource Manager". It is called "Adobe Resource Synchronizer".
I notice my fan starting to work too hard, so I look in my Activity Monitor and see that "Adobe Resource Synchronizer" is using upwards of 80% of the system resources and keeps going, as much as 98% of system resources! So I "quit" the process and the fan dies back down.
It happens almost everytime I work on the computer, and then it's O.K. after I turn it off. But what is it doing? Am I shutting off some necessary process needed by Creative Suite? What is it attempting to do. It can't possibly be right to use so much of the system resources and almost overheat my computer!
Sorry I had to start this as a new thread. I was logged in, but couldn't find a way to add to the previous discussion.

  • Creative Suite 2 Upgrade... What versions will this upgrade work with?

    Hi all,
I have an extra copy of CS2 Suite Upgrade that Adobe has said is a valid license and OK to sell to another user. I am having trouble figuring out what is the qualifying product the new owner would need to own in order to use this. The box says it is Adobe part number 18040402 and on the part label it says it upgrades CS 1.3, but on the printed box it says you must have CS 1.x.
So far I have not been able to get a clear answer from Adobe support regarding this specific part number. I also have not been able to find any info regarding this via Google. Just wondering if anyone might have some concrete info.
I don't want to tell someone this will work for CS Suite 1.0 and later discover it only works with CS
    Suite 1.3.
If anyone can point me towards some conclusive info it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!!

Hi, what is the source of your info please? This is an unregistered upgrade product that is not used by a previous owner. So far the support people at Adobe have told me it is OK to sell to someone who owns a qualifying product. Not trying to break any rules here... just want accurate info.
    Thanks

  • Creative Suite 2--invalid serial number message on Vista

I just got a new computer with Vista (64bit). I successfully installed Creative Suite 2--it accepted my serial number initially--but now when I go to open any of the programs, I get the prompt for name, company, and serial number. Each time, my serial number is rejected as invalid. (I've checked many times, and I'm positive I'm entering the correct serial number.)
I'm fine with purchasing the upgrade to 4, but I'm concerned that I'll buy it and it won't work. I assumed I would need to install 2 on my machine before I could upgrade, which is why I did it--even though I've read about problems running 2 on Vista.
Should I go ahead and get the Creative Suite 4 upgrade--and troubleshoot at that point if I have problems? I'm just worried about losing all that money if it doesn't work!
    Thanks!

The above references XP64 but also applies to Vista 64.
But you do not have to have CS2 installed to upgrade to CS4. Just have the disks and serial number handy. If you do upgrade make sure you install in the default location.

  • An Open Letter To Adobe Systems from Scott Kelby about Creative Suite pricing

    http://www.scottkelby.com/blog/2011/archives/22903

1)Historically, there has always been a grace period, that allowed get the newer version for free if you purchased the old one very close, or after the announcement, and before the actual disponibility of the new version of the Creative Suite. This would allow, this time, to upgrade from CS3 onwards to CS5.5, and get CS "next", bypassing, this time, the one version limit.
That's true, and it's something I was thinking about afterwards.  I remember after CS5 was announced, there was a grace period of several weeks where if you bought or upgraded to the CS4 version of your suite or product, you'd be entitled to a free upgrade to CS5 when it shipped.  If that was the case this time around, then I would take advantage of it and upgrade to CS5.5 during the grace period in order to get CS6.
    PECourtejoie wrote:
But in fact the Creative Cloud is already cheaper if you add the point versions upgrades, subscriptions to Muse, Carousel and maybe Edge, plus the price of whatever tablet apps are released.
    Compared to the Master Suite.
If one uses only, say the Video Production, and has no need for the other offerings, going the Creative Cloud way is more expensive.
While that's true, there are also many people who find the prospect of cloud software subscriptions unappealing (myself, for one).  I vastly prefer paying for something once and having it from that time on.  The Creative Cloud subscription seems like a good deal for those who don't have that prejudice, or those who might want to use the additional "cloud" services that the boxed/download perpetual license won't have, but that won't be enough to change the minds of many customers.  The Creative Cloud will apparently be around $50 a month, so it works out to $600/year.  Assuming Adobe sticks to a 24 month cycle for major versions, always with a x.5 release around the half-way point (and assuming the upgrade prices for the perpetual license stay about what they are now), then the Creative Suite "box" upgrade will still  be slightly cheaper, dollar-wise.  To upgrade from CS5 to 5.5 is $550, and I'm assuming 5.5 to 6 might be around that same price, and then CS5 to 6 assuming the $950 position on that upgrade guide chart).  When we're going to CS7, then I assume those prices will remain about equivalent for upgrades from CS6 and 6.5.
However Adobe decides to deal with this customer backlash, there are numerous ways they can appease most of us.  Sony Creative Software has the most generous upgrade policies I've encountered for their products (granted, they only really offer competing products for Premiere Pro and Audition); Adobe is looking mighty greedy next to such companies right now. This thread alone has some good suggestions,
    1) Allow a grace period with CS6 so that users of CS3 and CS4 aren't left out in the cold, becase many of us will simply go elsewhere if this doesn't happen.  This could either take the form of an "upgrade to CS5.5, receive CS6 free" once CS6 is officially announced, or a period of 1-2 months after CS6 ships during which upgrades from CS3 and CS4 are allowed.
    2) If they stick to the "1 version back", a price reduction of a couple hundred off the suite upgrades might help soften the blow.
    3) Consider a "2 version back" instead.
Or some combination of features from the above.
Truth be told, if Adobe sticks to a ~24 month release cycle for major versions from here on out, I wouldn't really be opposed to upgrading every major version.  $950-$1000 every 2 years to keep the Master Collection current sounds like a pretty good deal to me.  But if Adobe expects me to buy CS6 as if I'm a new customer when I own both CS and CS3, they're in for a rude awakening.

  • Gifting an iMac G4 with Creative Suite

    Hi everyone,
I have an iMac (1 ghz, 10.2.8) that I want to give to a friend's daughter. Obviously, I want to give it to her as clean as possible. However, I have an Education version of Adobe Creative Suite on it that I want to include. She is a student, and I've moved on to a newer release of Creative Suite (not upgraded from the Education version). I have all the discs, etc., but I'm reluctant to try to transfer and reinstall the Adobe stuff because it's registered to me and getting anything the slightest bit complicated cleared through Adobe customer service is, in my experience, virtually impossible.
Is there a way to erase and reinstall OSX while keeping the Adobe software in place? Is there a better solution?
    Thanks,
    Tim

I don't think you can selectively erase and install, but once you have reinstalled the OS, you can use
Target Disk Mode  to transfer CS.
