Creative Suite 2 Fails to Re-register

I am trying to complete a re-registration on a new laptop for this product.  The process fails and I am directed to phone customer support.  After that lengthy process, I was instructed to search for this patch at Adobe.com:  KB409127
That patch is a Windows file and won't work on my Mac!
I know that the problem is that this is the third installation for the product ... a  new laptop.  The process is frustrating me.  I'm wondering if others who have also encountered this situation might have a "painless" solution to this issue.

I don't think it's possible to deactivate software on a dead hard drive, is it?
I was on the phone with Adobe most of the afternoon ... the case escalated to a special department ... awaiting  resolution via email.  So, still not resolution.
You are correct in the terminology.  While I began with a "registration" ... the wording on my final screens is "activate" the software.

  • Creative Suite Trial Fail

    I downloaded the creative suite trial and photoshop worked briefly but failed to open pdfs and all the other apps failed to open with plugin errors or bomb reports. I uninstalled but now cannot download again for a clean install. If this is the future of cloud apps, I'll have to stick with CS3.
    When I try to download again, I get the error message that the protocal aam isn't associated with any program. And the drag and drop page doesn't work.

    Photoshop is not used to view pdf's, Acrobat is. Please let me know what errors you get while opening other apps  with screenshots if possible.
    Also let me know te OS version you are using.

  • Installed, licensed, and working Creative Suite CS3 fails.  How do I clean Adobe off my system for new installation?

    I run Macbook Pro with Mavericks.  I have a licensed copy of Creative Suite CS3 installed.  It simply stopped working.  InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator close upon opening.  Tried repairing the installation, uninstalling, and reinstalling.  Didn't work. The reinstallation did no provide an opportunity to enter the serial number. Tried CS5cleaner.  Didn't work.  It left the applications installed and deleted the uninstall application.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Creative Suite 4 failing to start

    I am attempting to help troubleshoot information as to how to get Creative Suite 4 running.  It has been running on two identical machines (less than three months old), and yesterday stopped working on one machine.  Both machines are running Windows 8, and on the problematic machine no CS program will start.  They all begin to start up, show the main screen briefly, and then crash back to the desktop.
    I began by reverting the system to one day last week with system restore, to no avail.  Then we attempted reinstalling the product over the top of the existing installation - still no luck.  Removing the program completely and reinstalling - still no luck.  Following troubleshooting information found in the forums and on the web site, we ran the Adobe Support Advisor - this directed me to instructions on how to remove the color profiles, remove the program, and reinstall.  This, again, did not fix the problem.
    (The error found by the Support Advisor was "kb403891r2: Error UninstallColorProfilesRollback preventing the installation - Creative Suite 4 Click here for details and corrective actions related to this issue." It showed up two different times, 5 seconds apart.)
    I have searched as much as I can in the forums (and googled until I was blue in the face), and can not find a solution to this program.  The Windows application error logs simply tell me the files in use when the programs crash, and do not direct me to anything else.
    HELP!

    I did think of one more thing to add - these two machines are literally identical. No extraneous software, same virus scanner, same programs, even the same screen saver. I did run malware scans just to insure that they did not pick something up, but I can not find anything. (And there is not much installed to start with.) The only option I have at this point is to reformat from scratch, but that seems a little extreme for machines only a few months old.

    I'm not really clear what you are trying to say. As Manish pointed out, registration has nothing to do with serialization and activation. However, serial numbers are platform specific. If you bought only recently and fall within return policies, then contact customer support, for everythin grefer to this document: Order an Adobe product platform swap or language swap.

    I purchased your Creative Suite 6 disc from the Apple store in OakBrook, Illinois 2 weeks ago and I am having trouble registering this product. I have a letter from the Manager/Educator and a picture of my ID, but I cannot find a place to upload it to your company. I have several projects that need to be completed so I want my Creative Suites to be up and registered. Please Help!

    We/ve had a computercrash, so now I've installed creative suite 4 design premium on the new harddisq. I tried to register the product, but the (valid) number is refused. (oh, its on Windows 7)  I chatted with a adobegirl, but she could not help me further cause suite 4 is too old ....................... my thoughts are: just reset the times I had to register it again and it will work ... but hey ...What to do? I'm still content with the possibilities of the suite (not with the service! ..), so why buy a new version?

    You should have asked the person you were chatting with to reset your activations.  That is something they are obliged to do.  They might refuse other support but restting your activations is something they are supposed to do.  So contact Support again thru chat and ask them to reset the activations.

  • Update failed. Windows - Creative Suite 5 Premium. Trying to update Camera Raw.

    My apologies if I'm not following the correct protocol on this forum. It's my first time here.
    I'm a novice with Photoshop and the Creative Suite, and until now I have only used its basic features.
    However, I tried to upload a RAW format image today, only to learn that program won't accept it.
    I tried to update the Camera Raw plug-in, but it doesn't want to install.
    I tried updating the whole suite using the "Help" and Update menus.
    It downloads the appropriate updates for my version, and apparently begins to install them.
    However, after the install bar reached 60-70 percent, it stops and says installation failed.
    It is properly registered product - the serial number is in My Account.
    Can anyone suggest a fix for me please?

    update by downloading the files directly and then applying them:
    pre cc updates:  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
    however, you may not be able to update cs5 sufficiently to use your camera (which is?).  you can then use the dng converter.

    I have not been able to reinstall Acrobat Pro on my laptop. I have Suite 6 Design & Web Premium on my HP laptop. I have Windows 7 operating system. All of a sudden Acrobat Pro will not open so I uninstalled and tried to reinstall the program.
    The error messages I get are:

    Yep.  Nothing happens at all. Windows tries to execute the uninstaller, but I don't get any other screen and all activity stops for the MSI.  I monitored it in Process Monitor and the MSI executable appears, but is quickly ended, like it couldn't find anything or something.
    It's as if windows has a blank entry in Programs and Features, because it used to show the size of the Adobe application in the "Size" column.  Now it's just blank.  Link to screenshot below:

    Note the install date.  That's when I was able to successfully reinstall it.  Now I can't even do that.  I should also mention I tried Revo Uninstaller.  It deleted one small registry key, but nothing changed.
    By the way, is the CS cleaner supposed to ask for a disc in the drive when you run it?  It refused to run unless I had one in it, so I used my install dvd.

    make sure you're using the adobe cleaner, not crap cleaner, Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
    copy the installation files to a desktop folder and install from there.

    I am sorry Erickkasner but there is no longer direct support provided for Creative Suite 5.5 installation issues.
    You are welcome to post any specific errors you are able to discover within your installation log to this discussion.  Since you are using Windows then Exit Code 15 could mean one of the following:
    Installer database is corrupted
    Update pending to your operating system
    Improper permissions set for the Media.db
    The installation log file should provide additional insight into the exact error you are experiencing.  Please make sure to use the find command to look for the words 'ERROR' and 'FATAL' to locate the relevant error messages.
