Creative Suite 3...Can I Upgrade?

I bought Creative Suite 3 for Mac quite a few years back now and am realising that to be able to receive later version documents from Photoshop or Indesign that the file won't come through because my version is so old. What I would like to know is, can I upgrade to a newer version and how much will it cost me?
It cost me around $450AUD when I bought it last and I don't think I will need to pay that fee again because it was so expensive but I could be wrong.
Please help!

If your only intention of installing CS is to upgrade to CS3, then you can try skipping the CS installation and just go for the CS3. You should only be required to provide the serial number for CS during the CS3 activation process, as proof of the upgrade applicability.
Depending on how new the machine is, you might find it a challenge to get CS installed and working. CS3 less so, but you might still run into some issues.

Aussimick you will want to enter in the qualifying serial number from the full version of Adobe software you purchased. Creative Suite 2 Student Edition upgrade

I cannot install my CS2 Premium student edition onto my Mac, which uses OS X 10.8.2. Am I able to upgrade to a version of the creative suite even though it is a student edition?

No Creative Suite 2 does not upgrade for any upgrade pricing. You will want to look at either purchasing a full version of Creative Suite 6 or subscribing to the Creative Cloud. If you mean Creative Cloud then yes, you can install and activate on two
machine with no regard to platform.

From within photoshop cs5 go to Help>Updates to install the latest updates for your cs5 applications
including camera raw 6.7 which should open the D800 camera raw files.

Downloading Creative Suite CS4 from dvd - upgrade check?

Hi there,
I am downloading Creative Suite CS4 from a purchased dvd. It allows me to enter the serial number but then takes me to the net screen that wants to do an upgrade check! I have no other related Adobe software! It asks me to select product I already own, which I don't. It defaults to CS3 and then of course wants the serial number which I don't have as I don't have a previous version! If I go back to previous screen I can load a trial version and then enter the serial number after 30 days, I don't want to do that.

I currently have Creative Suite 2 and will be getting a MacBook Pro (with Leopard) and know that CS2 won't work on it. I would like to upgrade to CS3, but didn't know if I would be able to go to CS4 straight from CS2.

Creative Suite 5, can't install Exit code 7

I have bought my Creative Suite 5!
Well, I have just finished the Set-Up and I got the reason that the applications:
Premiere Pro CS5
Adobe After Effects CS5
Photoshop x64
My Set-Up said Exit Code 7!
But I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and it's new installed!
What can I do?

I just spent 9 hours straight on this, but will was stronger than "its". Now I have both cs4 and cs5, but hopefully it will work if you just have cs5 as well. I also did not try runnning cs5 installer first after implementing the fix, maybe that will work too..And when getting the cs5 error, I went to re-install cs4 but got an error as well so that is why I took the steps I did. On 7x64 do the followin
First run the cs5 cleanup tool and reboot.
Second, go into c:\program file(x86)\common files\adobe\installers . Delete everything in it
Then go into you registry (start, run, then type regedit) and expand to this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\ Components ...(if this isnt there, try an install again, then go to the folder that you deleted the files from a moment ago and extract the log from the zip file and open it and go to the end. where it says error 1402 will be followed by a unknown\components\(a bunch of numebers right here)\(more numbers) ...
Copy the numbers directly after the components\ and go back into registry and click edit then "find" paste those numbers into the box and hit find..when you get to the key, scroll ALL the way back up to components again. Right click components and hit permissions.. Go to advanced and then the ownership tab up top.. click edit, hightlight administrator(s), check the box to "replace subcontainers" and click apply. respond yes to everything and close that and hit apply again if asked. then click the add button above the advanced button you just clicked. when the new box appears, click advanced and then click find now. Highlight Administrators and SYSTEM and hit OK. Then give both of them full rights and hit apply. Then click advanced again and in the first window check the box that says "replace all child objects...." and hit apply. accept the prompts and hit okay.
Now go into c:\windows and on the system32 folder, right click and go to properties. Go to the security tab. Click advanced and then "owner" and click edit. highlght administrators and check the box "replace all child object....." again and hit apply....
Now give Administrators, SYSTEM, AND TrustedInstaller full rights by clicking edit above the advanced tab in the first properties box.. Then click advanced again and in the first window click replace all child object....." again and hit apply....
Now do the same for the winsxs folder and (for good measure i did syswow64 but not sure if its necessary)...
Now you should be able to install both versions..(as i said, I installed cs4 first, maybe it was not necessary)...
If you dont like the idea of just blindly giving administrators full rights to all system folders, you can spend MANY MANY hours running the installs over and over and getting the faulty registry value that caused it to fail and create specific permissions for that and then go on to the next value that fails......what a pain

Too late to re-activate Adobe creative suite. Can it be fixed?

Have I done a catastrophic mistake by being too late to re-activate my Adobe creative suite?
I have had computer problems. When I in the end bought a new computer and tried to install Adobe, the re-activation time had run out.
I did have a possibility to re-activate it off course, but didnt do it immidiately, since I was about to re-install everything in the new computer, and then problems arouse that delayed everything ...and then suddenly it was to late.
I will contact support by phone tomorrow. But if someone can ease my pain, by hinting that it is possible to re-activate it, I will get some sleep tonight...
I would be grateful for some help on this..

Creative Suite 1 - how to upgrade it?

I own a Creative Suite 1.1 license for Mac.
I was trying to upgrade it but it looks like it's not valid for any upgrade anymore...
Why is that?
Any hints or suggestions?

Creative Suite 1.x is not upgradeable. A few years ago, Adobe decided not to extend upgrading to all previous versions, but limited to the previous two or three versions.
Very simple: You buy a new version of Adobe Creative Suite or you don't. (BTW, you may be tempted to buy a "used" copy on eBay or some such. Be very wary of "cheapo" copies offered of Adobe products. They are usually unlicensed beta copies, or something equally useless.)
