Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard - PC to Mac

I purchased Creative Suite Design Standard 5.5 a few years back for my PC.  Recently, I purchased a Mac to specifically use for my Adobe products.  Now I am wondering how I can transfer the license I had for the PC version of Design Standard, over to a Mac version so that I can use it on that computer.  I paid a lot of money for that license a few years ago and I don't want to have to spend more because I changed computers.

No way. You need to upgrade to CS6 and make the switch.

Doesn't really make sense anymore, though. The list of compatibility issues with OSX 10.9.5 and 10.10 is as long as my arm and unless you're feeling adventurous and know how to tackle potential issues, signing up for Creative Cloud would be a much safer bet on the future...

    make sure you're using the adobe cleaner, not crap cleaner, Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
    copy the installation files to a desktop folder and install from there.

    Trying to add my adopt creative suite 5.5 design standard-student teacher to my new computer since my old one crashed, but the new computer has no CD Drive.  We transferred the files to an SD card, moved to desktop but it won't load.  I also tried to download the online version but when it gets to the part where I add the license it errors stating serial number not valid for this version.  Read everything I can find any suggestions.  Thanks in advance.

    Dear Jeff, it seems I have a similar problem. I have a CS 5.5. Design Standard on CD, student edition. Now my new laptop does not have a CD drive.
    I have been trying to find a download at the Adobe site, but under the heading of CS 5.5. it gives access to a newer version. So I guess my license wouldn't work (I did not bother to try this).
    So any help is welcome:
    > how do I get a download for the correct version, or how would one transfer the files from CD to laptop (Windows 8, running under Parallels on a MacBookAir)
    > how do I proceed with my productnumber and verification of my student status (I have not done so yet)

  • Can't re-install Photoshop, all other programs from Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard (DVD) installed successfully.

    My iMac crashed and once I recovered it I re-installed all my software including my Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard (DVD) but Photoshop simply won't install after 3 or 4 attempts. After the lengthy installation process I get a huge error message on Photoshop which I am pasting below. How can I finally install Photoshop? All my other programs are working.     I reinstalled the OS on my mac. After that I reinstalled my "Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard" from the discs. Illustrator etc. working fine, but when I try to enter the serial number when starting Acrobat it says: "This serial number is not valid for this product".

    I had purchase Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 design standards (Student and teacher licensing), but I lost the disk and still have my product code. I tried downloading from the available downloads but the product code i have doesn't work. Where can i find a CS5.5 design standard student and teacher licensing download?

    There is no specific version designated for student/teacher versions, the software you get is the same as any other 'version'... the serial number is what designates the version status.  You might have used the wrong product code or maybe you need to adjust your approach to the attempt to acquiring the download.
    Make sure you have cookies enabled and clear your cache.  If it continues to fail try using a different browser.
    You can also download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
    Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

    In Utilities/Adobe Installers/ I used the "Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard". I unchecked InDesign to uninstall with the intent of re-installing later. The screen for the installer now looks like this: As you can see, there are no re-install options.
