Creative Suite 5 and 5.5 - will this be a problem?

Hi all
Myself and my colleague (who both currently use CS2) have been given the chance to upgrade to what was cs5 at the time. Due to a mess up with ordering we have ended up with one upgrade to cs5 and another upgrade to cs5.5
We need to be able to use the same files etc so ideally need to be on the same versions of everything. However I am wondering if it will be a problem between 5.5 and 5. For example if I do some design work in Indesign CS5.5 will it open okay in Indesign CS5? The same with Illustrator and Photoshop?

What Bob said - while PS and AI haven't changed, ID has. This may cause loss of formatting when saving back to CS5 from CS5.5.

I'm not clear what you are saying here. Since for S&T versions registration is mandatory, you have a permanent serial on your account and those function just liek any normal serial number of a comemrcial package.

I have reinstalled my computer, AFter installing the CS6, from direct download from my Adobe, again it will not accept my serial code, and the information is: " the serial you provided is valid, but a qualifying produkt could not be found on this computer."

Should I return my new MacBook Pro? Creative Suite CS and CS2 do not work?

I am soooooooooooooooo ******!!!!!!!!
I just purched the top of the line MacBook Pro and learned that the Adobe Creative Suite products do not work on this machine. I contacted Adobe and they said they will not have an update until they release the next version, which won't release until (at the earlies) the end of this year. While Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign are not crucial aps for me, I do use them for business regularly.
With this being the case, I ask the mac community using these machines, should I return the computer, buy a g4pb (my TI just literally fell apart) ? Reading the board hear and various news articles, there seems to be a few issues (whine - apps - etc).
I guess I should have looked into this more before purchasing, but I trusted Apple to release products that are ready for users.
This is the most expensive computer I have ever puchased and I need it to do everything my TI PB did.
Is the MacBook Pro worth the early adopter hastle?

Creative Suite 2 will work on Rosetta with the exception of one componet. Version Cue Workspace (Server) does not work under Rosetta. As of Jan 31 2006 this was the only known issue with using the suite on Intel Mac's.

I would recommend that if you are going to use this program that you have 2 GB's of RAM seeing as I hear that Rosetta can be a RAM hog. Hope this helps you out.

Creative suite 4 and 5.5 compatable with Windows 8 and Office 2013?

We have both Creative Suite 4 and a few CS5.5. One classroom will be moving to Windows 8 and Office 2013 this Summer term. Will either of these suites work or will we need to upgrade to CS6?

The only honest answer: You won't know until you try. Generally they will/ should be compatible, but you may require dealing with legacy issues like printer compatibility or thne installer not finding specific folders as well as al lthe usual - security stuff, user privileges, network stuff in shared environements. you would face some of those issues even with CS6 or CC, so it's irrelevant to get a new version until there are real hard reasons beyond these issues. They can all be resolved, it may just take some fiddling and lots of patience.

Current Status of Creative Suite 3 and Snow Leopard?

I currently have both CS3 Web Design Premium (which includes Photoshop) and Adobe InDesign CS3... both suites essentially comprising all the apps and features of the standard CS3 Suite plus web design.
I know this has been discussed before, but I am assuming that further additional testing and usage has continued... and problems are being solved or not. And in the end an overall opinion or judgment has been reached regarding upgrading Leopard to Snow Leopard. I've been waiting it out to see what the outcome would be.
My Mac is the intel chip 24" Alum. 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Is the CS3 suite compatible with Snow Leopard? If not, what will be the cost or loss in terms of the applications? And, is it worth upgrading to it?
Experienced and knowledgeable feedback is very welcomed and appreciated.

Thanks.. have decided not to touch it. You make this kind of investment into software, you are not looking to have to compromise with erratic unpredictable software which in turn burns your time and patience.
Adobe's position is definitely unfortunate unfriendly and unappreciative. It's the arrogance towards what they have developed and a denial of the kind of investment it took to get into their software. The least they could have done was to offer a generous discount for upgrading.

CS 3 is sort of compatible, but if you are using CS 3 for your livelihood, then stay with Leopard.
For example, Photoshop CS 3 functions adequately for a time, but ultimately starts to show erractic errors, then crashes. Also, excessive memory usage builds the longer it is used.
Adobe has stated it only supports CS 4 and 5 with Snow Leopard. I doubt further modifications will be made by Adobe to CS 3 to iron out the Snow Leopard incompatibilities. Rather unfortunate position, and certainly not a customer friendly approach, especially for anyone investing over $1,000 for software only 3 years old.
To add further fuel to the fire, CS 3 apps now crash in 10.6.3 due to Serial Number/API changes, "unforseen" by all parties.

I purchased the Creative Suite design and web last fall, and I have a new computer now, and would like to download the program, but I can't seem to find anywhere on Adobe to download it, is this because of CC? The link that was send with my code doesn't work anymore either.

I just installed Creative Suite 6 and want to know if I can uninstall versions 5 and 5.5

Adobe upgrade installers are always full installers and do not need to find a previous version installed. If they don't , they just prompt you for the old serial number as well as the new one.
That being said, if you plan to uninstall older versions, the time to do so is BEFORE you install the newer version. The problem is that when you run the uninstaller for each older version, they will in turn mess with the newer installation iof already present. There are just too many similarly named files in similar locations for each version.
If you already have CS6 installed, running the CS5 and CS5.5 uninstaller will mess with your existing CS6 installation.
At this point, you're better off uninstalling all three versions, running the Adobe CS Cleaner and then re-installing CS6 from scratch.
I know, it sounds like a pain—and it is—but it will save you a lot of grief later on.

This is exactly that i am trying to do, but the thing is the next:
When i try to open any of the adobe apps, the next sign come up:
And i don't understand wy it says that, because i have an internet connection
working perfectly. When i press (Network Diagnostics) everything about my
internet connection is running well and when i try to open the photoshop
app again the same sign come up again!!
Also, when i try to do the adobe update trough ( Software Update ) The system
tell me that there is no software to be updated.
God!!! I am desespered with this!!!

I went into the PC settings and tried to change the display resolution. This changes the size of all the icons (not only Adobe) but it does not solve the problem when I open an Adobe application (Photoshop or Illustrator)... The PC is run under Windows 8.1 and my display resolution is 3200x1800 (but again, when I change the settings for a smaller resolution, only the size of the icons is affected. Once I open the software, the problem is still there, extra-small toolbars...). Help!!!

Anything before CC is not high-DPI compatible. Feel free to continue to experiment with your system settings.
