Creative suite 6 downloads only fonts

I purchased creative suite 6 design standard and have tried downloading the programs several times. After hours of waiting, a icon of a purple cd comes up for indesign with "contents" under it and an orange one for illustrator with "Adobe Illustrator CS6" under it. Once I click on these icons, a list of languages appears then goodies>fonts. After hours that is all that downloads and I have no idea why. I have a Mac book Pro.

  • Where can the install.app file be found when installing Adobe Creative Suite CS5, download version ?

I have the same problem that the user who wrote the post "Trouble installing content files on Mac", but his post went unanswered. Here is the link: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4221280. I am trying to install the adobe creative suite CS5 downloaded from the internet, and what I have is a dmg file. When I open it, there is only a read me and a folder named "English". In the read me I go to the install instructions, and they tell me to double-click in Install.app, a file which doesn't exist. What am I doing wrong?

I downloaded it from Adobe Store. When I open the dmg file I see the read me.pdf and the English folder, nothing more. Perhaps the problem is that I have already installed the program in one computer, this is happening to me trying to install it in another one. Could that be it, that I need another license in order to make it work?

  • Creative Suite CS4: Problems with font managing software

It seems that there are some issues of the applications of the creative suite CS4 with the font managing software MainType (http://www.high-logic.com/maintype.html).
With standard settings, CS4 no longer recognizes PostScript Type 1 Fonts loaded by MainType (which did not occur with CS3 and older versions). The only solution so far is this workaround:  Within MainType enable under "Tools -> Options" the option "Copy Type 1 Postscript fonts to Windows fonts folder" and CS4 will load these fonts again.
This seems to be a bug of CS4. Are there problems with other font managing programs?
    regards
    fabian

After reading tons of forums about this issue, it does seem to be an issue with CS4 not recognizing fonts the way that CS3 did. Wish they had mentioned that little feature when they released it. They even go as far as to say they do not support certain programs for type handling in Windows. Copying them to the system folder is a workaround, but it is not available easily in programs like Extensis' Suitcase, which is long overdue an upgrade. LinoType beta tested a new application for Windows, but when I sent an email to them asking about the release date for the their final version, their ignorant customer support sent me a link to their website pointing out that it is not yet available, and not answering my initial question of when.
I don't entirely blame Adobe, it seems as though a lot of companies have dropped the ball on this issue, and since many people have Type 1 fonts they've been using for years, they will have to repurchase (if available) those fonts in the newer OTF format which everyone seems to support. OTF is a much nicer format and more portable cross-platform, but it's simply inconvenient to not be able to use all of your fonts at your own discretion easily. I'm not sure what the big deal was with not including support for Type 1 fonts, unless that's most of the reason that the Adobe apps were crashing before... corrupt versions of the fonts they talked us into purchasing, etc... Adobe used to make ATM for managing postscript fonts, but it doesn't work on Vista to my knowledge. It would be nice if they would recommend a font manager other than the Windows system folder.
I figure Adobe was hoping that it would not be a major issue since their wonderful PDF format has taken hold for printing. Print shops do not have to install fonts before printing a piece anymore. Most people will read in these forums about the loss of support, throw up their hands and shake their heads, but do nothing about it. After all they too probably purchased the CS4 suite without knowing about this issue and have already spent their money. It doesn't look as though it's an issue on the Mac, but by the time you throw $3000 at an entry level Mac workstation and $1600 at the basic adobe apps, that's not a solution either. Especially when you have to go out and buy all new fonts anyhow, since the macs will not support the Windows postscript typeface formats either.
After doing a little price shopping for typefaces, I'm trying to try to keep using the few OTF and TTF fonts I've purchased since they're still working, since the prices of fonts these days are astronomical. I've installed a few fonts in the system folder, but too many and Acrobat distiller crashes. It's not cost effective to spend all of your income from design on $1600 font family sets, just to make changes to a document where you might have used a postscript face. Especially in this economy... It's another case of the investor getting rewarded for the release of an application and the customer is left holding the bag. Hopefully it's a bug, but not likely. It's probably some mandated decision by the higher ups in Adobe.
I'm sure larger companies with hundreds of employees probably have site licenses for typefaces in the OTF format, so for them it's not a problem, and since most people using PCs to do design opted for that platform because of the cost issue, Adobe probably doesn't care about them either. Maybe a solution will arise in the future, but it doesn't look likely. You will probably have to get the new formats of typefaces one by one.

  • Creative Suite CS5 download link won't work

Creative Suite CS5 download link won't work after eight attempts, trying to transfer software to new laptop. Final Solution: new software cds mailed if possible?

    Hi Sheena,
After dowloading the CS5 Design Premium, I get an error messagin stating "A problem occurred while extracting the archive. Please try downloading the Adobe CS5 Design Premium again." I repeated this process multiple times (8) to no avail. I am trying to download the CS5 design premium on my new laptop, but don't have the software cds to do this. Thus, I can only download the software but after i download the two files required, that error message appears. (I already have my serial number). I have tried disabling my Antivirus as sometimes it detects the files as virus and removes them while downloading. I have also tried downloading after performing Selective Startup.
Can Adobe mail the software cds instead of sending download links?

  • When I click PDF file, the file does not open and  installation software for creative suite automatically begin to start. Even after re-installation of creative suite 5.5, only acrobat reader dose not work and the same phenomena occurs.

When I click PDF file, the file does not open and  installation software for creative suite automatically begin to start. Even after re-installation of creative suite 5.5, only acrobat reader dose not work and the same phenomena occurs.

Did you ever install Acrobat? It is not installed automatically with CS, but requires an extra installation step.

  • Reinstallation of CS6 Creative suite Acrobat X only

My CS6 Creative Suite Acrobat X stopped working. I have uninstalled Acrobat X with a view to re-installing it.  Having started the process it looks as if it will take almost 1 hour. Is this just Acrobat X or is it going to try to reinstall the other products as well?  How can I reinstall Acrobat X only - the other products in CS6 seem OK.

Try downloading from the direct download links available at : http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html
But make sure you follow the important steps mentioned on the page before initiating the download.

  • Acrobat 7 not included with Creative Suite 2 downloads?

    Hey Jeff,
thanks for your reply, but I told not the whole truth
We have some CS2 Premium (for Mac) here and want to reinstall them, we've got no single Acrobat 7 here. If I want to reinstall the whole CS2 Premium or a part of it from our old installation media, I receive the message, that the activation server is unvavailable. When I use the three published DMG-Files to install CS2, there is no Acrobat 7 in it.
Is there any possibility to get Acrobat 7 for Mac as a single download-version or CS2 Premium instead of CS2 Standard?
    Thanks

Ok well I have confirmed that the Mac version of Acrobat 7 does not include activation technology.  Please install Acrobat 7 from your original installation media.
If you don't have a separate serial number then Acrobat will need to be licensed by one of the point products.  So please customize the install to include both Acrobat and Photoshop for example.  You will then need to launch Photoshop once, tell it to activate later, and then you should be able to run Acrobat successfully.  You can then remove the copy of Photoshop and install from the new volume license software which is available at http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l.

I have "Student & Teacher Creative Suite 6" and I can not install on my Mac. I have only installed it once before on my PC.

Serial numbers are platform specific. A PC serial will never work on a Mac. You need to run a platform swap.

  • Upgrade Creative Suite 2 with ONLY Photoshop CS3?

I have a full version of Creative Suite 3. I would like to upgrade only the Photoshop portion, including Bridge, with Photoshop CS3. Can this be done?

Not unless you have a standalone version of Photoshop 7 (the earliest
version from which you can upgrade to Photoshop CS3), CS or CS2.
This was a 'gotcha' that I wrestled with when the first Creative Suite (CS)
was released. I started with full Photoshop 5.5 then upgraded to 6 and 7. I
wanted the Creative Suite but with the option of upgrading standalone apps
within the Suite from then on but soon realised that this was not possible.
I eventually went the Creative Suite.
In brief, available upgrade paths are:
    Standalone App > Standalone App
Standalone App > Creative Suite > Creative Suite
Creative Suite > Creative Suite > Creative Suite

  • My Adobe Creative Suite CS5 download rejects my valid serial key. What must I do?

    Hello everyone,
I have a legitimate serial key for Creative Suite CS5. Because I once lost my CD's Adobe sent me a download link to download the suite which worked then, but now I have a new laptop which doesn't have a CD-rom drive, so I tried to download these links again. Now I get the message that my serial key is invalid. I have had contact with customer support and they verified that my serial key is valid and then I was sent to the forum to ask how to continue.
Prachi: I see that as it is the old product, you need to visit our Adobe Forum to troubleshot the issue.
    I kindly await your response.
    With kind regards,
    Joost Dingemans

  • Udf file type creative suite 4 download

I have creative suite 4 for windows but it seems that neither a windows 7 or vista computer understands what a udf file type is... something to do with roxio software used to create the download files. It's a 4-disc download from the beta program (reward software) and I no longer know anyone to email directly to find out what's going on with this... anyone from the beta programs back then run into this and/or have a solution? Help appreciated.

Did you also receive a serial number for Creative Suite 4 as well?  If so then you can follow the steps listed at http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html to download the software.
